Service and food are tasty enough but the price is way too high to make it my local bakery. It's more expensive than what you would pay in a city centre

Great food, but the worst service in Shaftesbury. Really let's it down. It's not cheap so not getting a smile and being made to feel like being an inconvenience when you asked to be served is a very poor show.

I recently visited this bakery and had an extremely disappointing experience. The woman working in the shop was blatantly rude to my wife when she asked about the food. It was clear from her attitude and behavior that she harbors racist tendencies. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and has left a very bad impression on us. We expected better from a well-known bakery and will not be returning. I urge others to think twice before supporting a place that condones such disrespectful behavior.

I have always been an avid supporter of Reeves for their fantastic bread, at a price, but today I was just about to enter the shop at 4pm and the lady saw me and locked the door. Any shop with feelings would have let me purchase the loaf. But this jobsworth deliberately locked a regular customer out.

They serve all their loaves in plastic bags. Total and utter disregard for their impact on the environment. When I asked, they said it’s to keep the bread fresh. But it’s not a good enough reason. They are handing out hundreds a day. They should use paper and give out plastic as and when customers ask for plastic. Not the other way around.

Passed thru Shaftesbury today, stopped for a walk around and saw Reeve The Baker. Went in just after a snack, saw a Pork and chorizo sausage roll and a pasty. The super friendly guy at the counter asked if I needed a hand and I mentioned my conundrum. He said he recommends the sausage roll. So I got it. I also got the pasty.... 👀 Coming all the way from New Zealand, I never thought I'd find the greatest sausage roll I've ever had. But gosh darn, my mind was blown at how good it was. The pasty was also amazing. Would definitely return here if I pass thru town again.

My friend and I were new to English bakeries, so we sampled two items...each....then returned a day later and tried four more: a buttery chocolate twizzle, a glazed donut oozing custard, a flaky Coventry pasty, and a loaf of sourdough that was still excellent three days later. A kind server named Lisa attended to us with utmost patience as we scanned the large assortment of sweet and savory items with the decisiveness of children in a candy shop. Queuing next to us were a couple of cyclists who rode up all the way from Weymouth for a bacon bap.

Wonderful staff for suggesting the pork and chorizo sausage roll. The wife ate it so I went in and left with the last one. Coffee was also very good and we consumed outside looking across to gold Hill. What I deduce is if the randomly selected items were presented well and kept hot, everything else would be receiving the same car and attention. Well done staff.

The bakery had a queue outside which I took to be a good sign. There was a wide range of products, including but not limited to various pasties, pizzas, sausage rolls, sandwiches and artisan breads. We had a chicken, ham and leek pasty, chicken curry pasty, a large slice of a sausage roll, and an Italian long roll with olives and Parmesan baked in. All of them were delicious, the service was friendly even though we took a little while to decide on our order, and fairly priced. I totally recommend this bakery.

A very nice lady called Lisa assisted me today with my order, unfortunatly due to my military career and losing my hearing to a grenade, i now suffer with PTSD and anxiety. I am excempt from wearing a mask and I was wearing my exemption landyard (Hidden Disability) in store today. Whilst being served today some customers were talking rudely and loudly outside about me because they had to wait longer than normal. Lisa was extremely helpful and understanding as were all the staff and they did re-educate those rude customers about my exemption lanyard. Thank to all the Reeves staff in Shaftesbury and your support, i wish more shops and people were this understanding.

We were wandering around Shaftesbury and decided to pop in to buy a Bakewell tart and some other cakes. We left without buying a thing because wasps were swarming all over the (uncovered) cakes and breads. We went to Coffee 1 instead and found all the cakes and pastries safely covered up so we spent our money there instead. I would expect such a well known bakery to have excellent standards of both hygiene and customer service. When I expressed concern before leaving empty handed the (very) young man behind the counter just stood there silently. You have training and hygiene issues that need urgent attention Reeves!
