RedHouse is a truly distinctive place, with a welcoming and slightly retro atmosphere. It is spread across a series of rooms and small rooms created inside spaces with brick vaults, illuminated by soft lights that create a pleasant "cellar" effect. The menu is based on a very original modular system: you can choose between different types of pies, potatoes (in various preparations) and peas, composing the dish according to your tastes. Each element is available in 5 or 6 variations. For those with special dietary needs, the place also offers gluten-free options. The gluten-free pies come from a certified external bakery, which delivers them fresh every day, and are then prepared directly in the kitchen. Of course, the gluten-free offering is more limited than the full menu, but still satisfying. An excellent gluten-free beer is also available. The portions are generous and the quality of the food is truly excellent. All accompanied by a unique atmosphere that makes lunch (in my case) a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Beautiful old pub with an interesting interior decoration, the kind you just sit and look around as you sup your pint. We dropped in here with friends and enjoyed a few pints whilst taking in the place. Interesting history! Beer was great, great range of choice and a lovely welcome by the bar staff. Highly recommend!!!

Early evening meal of mushroom pie which was excellent. Great idea to allow choice of pie + sides in a variety of options together with some great ales. Atmosphere was good, not overly loud music, small entrance due to age of building, but really nicely done and inviting. Service was excellent.

The attraction is mainly the underground feel the place has. Therefore, extra stars given for the atmosphere. We were one of the first people in the restaurant and it felt like the staff were unhappy about that. I was given the wrong order and when the correct order returned, there was residue of the item that was asked to be removed on my sides. Both myself and partners sides (he had mash and I had chunky chips) were luke warm and the same with the gravy we got. It all tasted like warmed up food or food that had been left a while before being brought. I am unsure as to why as we were probably the first in the restaurant to receive our food. The pies (we had mince and onion) were OK but wouldn’t have again. You could probably just settle for popping into Pink Lane Bakery for one instead.

The pies were lovely, made by pink lane bakery so you expect a decent pie. Ordered two meals one without peas and both came with peas. This was returned but came back with peas on a few chips. The peas that remained were cold. Mash was luke warm as was the gravy. Shame as the surroundings were authentic and had potential.

First time trying here today on the restaurant week deal. It was a pie of choice a type of potato of choice, a pea choice and a sauce choice. We both went for the steak & ale pie, buttery mash, mushy peas, I went for the meat gravy and then my husband went for the cheese sauce. It was £20, usually £26 for everything without the restaurant week deal. Quality was 10/10 and i can’t wait to come back and try other flavours

Small, intimate and nice place. My girlfriend and I decide to spend a quiet evening there. Unfortunately the experience was ruined by surly and inattentive staff. Meanwhile, upon our arrival we take a seat and approach the counter to order a beer: we find a bartender who was doing something else and served us with annoyance and looking at us badly, as if he was annoyed that we were there. Afterwards I come back for a second beer, a colleague tells me that they won't be serving anyone for the next 15 minutes (really strange choice), but who am I to contradict her and I go back to my seat. I come back after 30 minutes, we were 2 people at the counter, she decides to serve the other customer (ok, I'll wait my turn) then two people arrive and she directs them, and then another two and so on, without even looking at me, ignoring me on purpose. When I'm left alone and now I'm a little annoyed by this rude attitude I think it's finally my turn... nothing to do, the barmaid looks at me and goes to another part of the counter and asks out loud: "who is next?". I'm really shocked, he really treated me badly. Feeling nervous, I go back to the place, take my jacket and with my girlfriend we decide to go to a club. Excellent choice also because we had a great time in the next pub and found quality craft beer. I really don't know how to explain what happened, maybe my clothing, maybe the fact that I was a foreign tourist, I don't know but I've never experienced such rude staff.

Wow, amazing pies and such good portion sizes ! I didn't have time to take a photo because I absolutely devoured my scran. I had steak + ale with garden peas, cheesy mash and a peppercorn sauce; no skimping on the sauce either there was plenty ! Only downside was the honey roasted veg we ordered as a side was a bit too sweet / lost it's flavour too much in the honey for my liking but tasty nonetheless. Really good quality meal for the price, proper cracking scran

If you love pie, potatoes and peas, Redhouse is a great shout! I've been a bunch of times and always take friends who are looking for "proper British food"! :) I went last night and unfortunately was served the wrong pie, but the server rectified this really quickly, apologised profusely, and the right pie was worth the wait! Service was friendly and helpful. I'm also a mashed potato fiend, so I absolutely love the mash variations on offer - delish. The pub itself is also such a cool place, lots of little nooks and old fashioned decor.

Used to come here many moons ago on a Friday night when younger and single- how times change!!😂 . Came for one of their lovely pie and mash lunches in restaurant week. You choose your pie from about 6 choices, then your mash ( cheesy, garlic, buttery etc), then your peas (mushy, minted etc) and then your liquor ( not booze but gravy!) I went for chicken with garlic mash, minted peas and red wine gravy with a red wine 🍷 and hardly had anything else to eat all day! Daz was happy with his choice and as they use Wylam Brewery over the moon with his pint of neck oil!

No he vuelto desde entonces. No entregue y no cocinará a pedido, a diferencia de otras tiendas de pescado en el área

The location of the venue could be a lot lot better, but once inside it’s beautifully decorated and has a sophisticated ambience 3 courses for £30 was good value and there was a good choice Parmesan Soufflé starter was very tasty, and the lamb got a big thumbs up Pasta portion was huge and pleasant too Star of the show was entirely unexpected- a simple champagne affogato with a few strawberries. Absolutely delicious! Places like this typically rip your eyeballs out over drinks so it was refreshing that a glass bottle of Diet Coke was only £2
