Estaba bien.

¡No te arrepentirás!

Great food and great service. We ordered the lamb kebab and the chicken and funky corn soup to start. Both were delicious and the lamb was so tender and tasty; it was to die for. We ordered two main dishes, chicken satay and the chicken katsue plus rice with crispy fried vegetables. Both meat dishes were so tasty and different to the norm. I would definitely order them again. For dessert our waitress recommended we share a hot custard filled bun, so delicious. The wine was a little expensive as the cheapest bottle was £38, but it was very nice. This is not your cheap and cheerful Chinese, so be prepared to pay more than normal. Our bill including a tip was £115 but I would definitely return.

This place is a scam!!! Looks great on social media but the real experience is soooooo disappointing!!! I love Chinese food and I was following it on Instagram and really looked forward to trying it. Went there yesterday with a friend. First, when you book they say you have 13.99 menu, well, this is NOT true, I wasn't expecting to spend only 13.99, but actually, that only included one dish and actually really small so it's actually quite expensive. We ended up having to order more and spent almost £80 and left hungry! Staff couldn't been more rude, except from a nice Portuguese guy who didn't quite fit in such a terrible place. Yes, nice decoration, good presentation, but TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, (except from this Portuguese guy) and just a SCAM!!! Please don't go!!! You have so many good Chinese restaurants in London so why bother!!! I never write reviews but this time I really had to because they need to know and improve things and stop taking the piss!

Dreadful evening. Food came out in fits and starts, so my husband was on his main when I hadn't even had my starter. The ribs were overcooked and the rice was full of grease. We'd booked a table of four and after an hour when we hadn't even finished they were asking for the table back for others to sit. They charged £4.50 for a jug of tap water and then added 16% service charge on top. Never again!!!! The positive note was that the barman was very nice and friendly.

Nice food. Good service. Most dishes were a bit heavy on batter but plenty of choice & very original. Great presentation. Worth a visit. Probably won't go back as it wasn't particularly special. Overall, we enjoyed the food.

The food was ok. It was tasty , fairly nice. But I've knocked stars knocked off for horrendous prices. £26 for a very ordinary plate of noodles? The definition of insanity. You can get food of this type and quality a lot cheaper around the corner in Chinatown. Absolutely no justification for what they are charging. Absolutely craziness

Virkelig lækkert og let mad. Service var i top med top underholdning ved fødselsdag. Jeg drømmer stadig om soup dumplings.

A server met us at the door and I was pointed to our table not seated. Service was slow and our order can wrong, which was corrected quickly. Overall the food was fine but definitely not worth the price. We booked through the Nightkey app for 25% off food, once the bill came we noticed our discount hadn’t be applied and we let our server know. She informed us that we must have told them at the time of seating that we had booked with a discount and that this could not be added at the end of the meal. This is something to be aware of if you plan to go and have booked through Nightkey or the fork. It would be hard to inform the server of a discount when we weren’t actually seated, having just been pointed in the direction of our seats at the communal dining table and then had our back turned on. In the end she agreed to add the discount. Even with the discount applied our bill came to over £120 for 3 small sharing dishes, 2 egg fried rices and 2 glasses of wine. The VAT and taxes are not included on the menu prices so the bill was a surprise. Overall we left feeling ripped off and wouldn’t return in the future. The food was no better than Rosa’s Thai but that’s a third of the price.

Food was ok, service was good but the bill was seriously expensive - really shocked when we got it. VAT isn't included in the menu items and charged on the final bill as well as the service charge.

“At least Dick Turpin wore a mask” Highway robbers have nothing on these guys, absolutely ridiculous price for quality and service. If you are looking for value for money suggest you look elsewhere, (now I know how our party of 6 managed to get a table in on an extremely busy Saturday afternoon). The food was mediocre at best (no better than your local Chinese takeaway) but for the price point expecting the rice to be cooked with mermaid tears and the mains to include finest fillet of unicorn.

We booked for 5:45 to catch the pre-theatre menu but by the time we were greeted, seated and had our order taken, we had very nearly missed the cut-off point. As friendly as the staff were (and they were) we felt they weren't nearly as attentive as they should have been. That being said, the food was delicious and I would recommend coming here for the food alone (drinks not so much, £8 for a soft drink mainly filled with ice.)

Food was novel rather than superb, some interesting concepts but not mind blowing food. Let down by dirty tables, poor service (taking away half eaten plates, even when told not to) mains coming out 15 minutes apart, and particularly irking... service charges are a scourge, they pretty much only exist in London, they used to be 10, then 12.5 and some are taking higher. This place wanted 13, so I told them to remove it totally, as they had gone too far. Walter kicked off at me, telling me that was paying his salary. Not my problem, the £15 you're charging for fried rice is plenty enough for your wages.

This is an amazing little place near Covent Garden, its a must visit. You are welcomed by bubbley staff , start of with a cocktail to get your taste buds buzzing. then go for it you just have to have the pokemon dim sum and also the soup dumplings after that go for it . You will not be disappointed here. HAVE FUN

For a very expensive meal, this was incredibly disappointing. The lady that seemed to be in charge was incredibly rude, didn't know what we'd had or not had, brought a second thing of one of the things we'd ordered despite us saying we'd had it and then when we were 2 minutes into eating it came back, shouted at us and took it away from under us. The pacman dumplings were nice but was whisked away before we could finish. The mains were dry with bland lumpy sauces. Overall felt disorganised and like they wanted us out of there, although we were one of only 4 tables being used and the food was worse then I'd get from my local chinese take away at 4 times the price. We were down in London for the week and everywhere else we went around the area was far better

We loved our dinner at Red Farm! We ordered a few small plates and one large. Everything we ordered was delicious! The service was by far the best we had in London all week! Do not expect typical Chinese food! This best way I can describe this restaurant is “farm to table Chinese.”

Highly disappointed with our evening. It is a cold evening and therefore we were wearing big coats and we had to ask staff if there was a cloakroom. Not a great start already! Following this, the food was brought out so quickly and therefore not allowing us to enjoy each dish. In addition, after rushing our starters, mains and dessert, we were told we had to quickly give up the table for the next guests who weren't anywhere to be seen. They couldn't be quick enough to send us on our way! Given the price, you would think service would be on point but it was an utter disappointment. This was a dinner to celebrate a birthday and they did not make it special at all. Shall not be recommending nor shall I ever be going back.

UPDATE: We became regulars here until 2020 and were very sad indeed to dscover that it has closed its doors. A real loss to anyone who enjoys first quality Japanese food! This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London but it is so authentic that you need a guide. The sushi is good, the usual menu items are very good but if you really want to eat well you need to choose from the blackboard with the day's dishes chalked up in Japanese. Marinated squid guts and tuna cheek are delicious and so genuine: you could be in a very good local restaurant in Japan. These kind of dishes are not found in most London Japanese restaurants and this is why Sakana Tei is special. Grab a Japanese or literate Chinese friend and treat them in return for choosing the delicious surprises you would normally miss!
