I had the pleasure of taking my brother and his wife down to the Red Rose for a family meal while they were visiting me.Needless to say we were not disappointed! The welcome and subsequent service was exceptional and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The various dishes we sampled were excellent, especially the Gost Kata Karachi, which was unbelievable. I have always enjoyed eating in the restaurant but I just had to say a big “Thank You” to all the staff for giving us such a memorable night. Well done Red Rose.

Just had a quite excellent solo Indian Sunday lunch at The Red Rose in Chessington. Had a good chat with the owner/manager and, at his suggestion, I ordered the Chicken Naga which sounds brave - and it packed a punch - but it was not killingly hot: just right and a tad spicier than a Madras. I also had a side dish of mixed veg bhaji plus a chapati. I don’t like my curries swimming in oceans of gravy and these two dishes were freshly prepared, wonderfully dry, not oily, full of flavour & impeccably presented & served. The venue itself is welcoming with crisp white tablecloths and napkins. My lunch was most deliciously washed down with a cold bottle of Cobra. Can’t fault any part of the whole experience. 5 stars all round. Recommended. CHECKREPORTUK

Small portions considering the price, had to go fishing in the sauce for chicken. Never fished for chicken before so got that ticked off my bucket list at least. Shame it was stone cold as well...

From many visits to the restaurant as well as numerous deliveries, the Red Rose has continued to amaze. A party of 4 of us recently spent a very enjoyable evening sampling many of the delicacies on offer. A warm welcome followed by excellent service topped the delicious food we all consumed. Your service over the years has been superb. Thank you to all concerned.

Not happy food was closed and I asked to talk to the manager and was told no manager sorry and please eat and go by a man there

I’ve been twice this month and had a fantastic meal on both occasions. Quick service, very tasty food, good pricing. Best curry house in Chessington. Would recommend a pint or two in the Lucky Rover before as well.

Over 2h waiting for the food and still hasn't arrived. Their customer service is soo poor that they could do a better job as politician.

As someone who eats here just over once a month, I know the restaurant pretty well. Not a bad place to go- far from the worst but not the best. Food is generally really good, varying slightly from time to time but keeping a general similarity. Try it!

I regularly eat Indian food and have several favourite restaurants which I go to locally. I was travelling out of the area and was recommended this place by locals. I can honestly say this was the best Indian meal I’ve had in years. I had the lamb passanda nawabi which was absolutely beautiful. The starters were fantastic as well. Thanks for a lovely meal. Shame I don’t live closer!

Went in for a traditional curry. Starters were tasteless, greasy and swimming in oil. Mains were also very disappointing however the Peshwari Nan was good and onion Bahji was nice. Its an expensive waste of time, wish I hadn't bothered.

I have lived a few doors away from the Red Rose for nearly 30 years and have enjoyed the restaurant and the quality of food many times. This week we decided to try a takeaway and I have to say it was very disappointing. We are 30 seconds at best away but when the food arrived everything was Luke warm, rice, curries, breads and samosas. Neither curry was spectacular and the lamb samosa was tasteless, honestly I make better at home. Whether there has been a change of chef who knows but this was not what I expected based on previous experiences Mike Summers

A great find on our short break to Chessington world of adventures. We had an excellent meal. The flavours of the dishes were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. If we didn’t live so far away we would be back again.

Been ordering delivery from Red Rose during lockdown, and the service has been brilliant. Very safe, socially distant, dropoff at the front door. Food has been consistently excellent over quite a few deliveries, and I'm very happy to recommend.

We had a takeaway from the Red Rose last night, we ordered and collected from the restaurant but there was a very long wait and the Uber/Deliveroo drivers seemed to be getting quicker service. Having said that my partner was given a drink while waiting...

Went early at 6pm as busy with help out to eat out bookings. The food was delicious, the service excellent and Covid friendly. Reasonable price for 5 adults - will definitely be returning.

I’ve been eating here for almost 25 years and tonight prior to leaving the area we are as a group of 9.The service, post lock down was excellent as was the food, consistently excellent for years, one of the very best curry houses around, always flexible on recipes, generous portions, served with a smile and genuine kindness.I can’t recommend The Red Rose Chessington highly enough.

Dishonest and amateur people with disgraceful service with dismissive attitude who don’t give a damn about customer service with pretty average quality of food. Didn’t enjoy the food, yet was frustrated and annoyed with their poor and not caring attitude.It took them 95 minutes and 3 chasing telephone calls to deliver a simple order.Their web site stated delivery within 45-60 minutes and free delivery over £15. Yet they charged me £1.5 for delivering an order for £25.Wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, don’t trust them and wouldn’t order food from them.We order takeaway to enjoy good quality food being cooked by someone professional and delivered on time with reasonable price and not be frustrated and be annoyed by a bunch of incompetent cowboys with an average quality of food and unreasonable charges. Please be warned about the Red Rose of Chessington, in Hook Road, Chessington, Surrey.

Have just enjoyed yet another delicious meal from this restaurant. During these difficult times the quality and standard of food has been exceptional, coupled with a superb delivery service. Each meal has been perfect and I can only complement the staff for maintaining such high standards. Well done all those at the Red Rose, Chessington and thank you.

Had a takeaway from the Red Rose Chessington tonight it was excellent. The food arrived within an hour and was fabulous. I actually phoned them to tell them how much I enjoyed it. Really recommend this restaurant.

I am grateful that some restaurants are serving food at this time in the form of takeaways but this is only worth doing if the quality stays good and ours was not. This is the closest Curry house from where we live and the chicken was cooked well with plenty of flavour but the rest let it down. The Jalfrezi was mild with not a chilli in sight, the korma was bland and the vegetable side dish of okra was stringy and well over priced. So maybe best to avoid until things settle down.

Got a delivery from here (lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala) and it was extremely poor. Pretty much tasteless if not 'weird' tasting. Asked for a refund but none was given.

Whether eating in ( excluding the present situation) or having a meal delivered, the quality of the food remains a constant high. The service is exceptional and is always a delight to visit the restaurant. There is a very varied menu, with staff on hand to offer advice and information on your requirements. In these very difficult times the restaurant has maintained an excellent delivery service ( Friday - Sunday) bringing delicious food to your door. I cannot wait for the restaurant to re-open fully, but in the meantime will continue to enjoy their excellent food at home.

I used to come to this restaurant just over two years ago with my wife and went back there on Saturday 7/2/20 with a group of 9 guys. The same waiting staff were there but the service was appallingly slow. There seemed no rush to take drinks orders & it took over half an hour to come to see if we wanted poppadums. We started at 7:30 & it took until 9:00 for our starters to arrive, & then, the waiter who hadn’t taken my order brought out Chicken Tikka instead of Chicken Chaat, glaring at me when I corrected him. I was behind time with other diners when this miserable offering of a Chicken Chat purée turned u with this horrible greasy pancake completely overshadowing a miserly portion of the actual Chicken Chaat. It felt like I was being penalised for their mistake! This waiter was so miserable too. The main courses arrived & I’d ordered a Prawn Naga with the most rubbery prawns going, obviously cooked for too long. The Onion Bhajia I had as a side were four smallish pieces that were tough as bullets, completely over cooked as well, with a Bombay Aloo in place of rice. The potatoes were “ok” but nothing special. The plain Naan I’d also ordered, was good but failed to rescue a fairly uninspired experience overall. It was a Saturday, so understandably it was quite a busy evening but no excuses, the restaurant should prepare for this. There was no offer of a dessert menu at the end, where one of our party at least relished having some Ice Cream. The main waiter was just so unpersonable, I’d say he was definitely unsuitable as this is after all, a people business. Shame on him, When it came to settling the bill, this turned out at approximately £30 per head which given the poor service & food, was too expensive. When paying, a very small tip only, was left. Having enjoyed this establishment over a couple of years ago, my current view is that I will not be returning any time soon.

We come here often but tonight was the best ever. I had a madras with green chillies and my mate had a shashlik madras hot, dishes were cooked to perfection with the chicken succulent and full of flavour throughout. Spoke with the boss and number 1 chief was on duty tonight.

This is a smallish restaurnat, and the decor and ambiance are fine. Staff and service was good.The food is not especially exciting, but acceptable. Two of my companions chose Vindaloo: one found it too hot; the other not hot enough. don't know waht to make of that! both of these did seem to have a lot of excess oil in the sauce.i chose a Chef's Special - Shobati Lamb? - that was rather nice. Tender lamb in a thick and very tasty sauce. it was a bit different, so i think I chose well.Prices are reasonable.

As we had a hectic weekend decided to eat in the lodgings we were in.Out of a mass of takeaway menus we chose the Red Rose.Both decided on Biriyani one Chicken Tikka the other King prawn. Also ordered an onion bhaji starter.Food came in under 35 minutes and was hot. Both Biriyani's were good with plenty of flavour helped but the caramelized onion and seasonings. And to have a boiled egg in the centre for me was the crowning glory and also the fact my wife didn't want hers was a double bonus my king prawn Biriyani had 3 massive prawns (see picture). Now the 2 massive let downs, the veg curry trays were only half full with little sauce and bland the worst ever veg curry I've had with a Biriyani, even my wife said it was horrible. The second let down was the onion bhaji, not crispy, doughy inside and tasteless. Even if we returned to the area we wouldn't get a takeaway, we would eat in so that we could complain if substandard.

I visited the Red Rose yesterday evening after watching a hockey match close by in the rain. We were going home to Canterbury and stopped at the restaurant on the way home. The staff were excellent and we were sat at a good table in the warm. Our meal was very good. The menu was varied and a very good choice of vegetable side dishes as well. The food was full of flavour and not swamped in an overwhelming sauce. We had two meat dishes and the meat was excellent. Our vegetable side dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Our dinner was also very good value. Thank you.

Service poor. The waiter was clearly inexperienced and struggled to serve us. His English was poor. The other waiters were bad tempered with him instead of helping him. Food below average - wouldn’t return.

Was really looking forward to the food after reading the reviews here. However, to say the food was disappointing would be to flatter the chefs. Speaking plainly it was awful and probably worse than that. I ordered the King Prawn Curry which was two prawns and both were bullet hard and had that texture in the mouth as though they had been frozen for too long. The actual Curry had the consistency as water. That was it!!! I also had the Sag Aloo. It was potato and almost no spinach. It was very poor value for money as obviously using the cheapest and fewest possible ingredients. In all honesty my best advice would be to completely avoid this restaurant.

Quality of food has improved a lot in the last year or so. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Good ambience in the restaurant. Would recommend for both eating in and takeaway.

Visited her for nye with the family and extended family. The atmosphere was great and food even better, we booked in advance as new it was going to be busy. the table was ready for 8pm and the venue looked great for nye.

Out extended family spend a fortune at this restaurant and tonight order a take away for £83. The king prawn madras had two prawns and the sauce was like water, thinner than soup. When I called and complained I was told that no one else complained about their food and not to come back. Message received loud and clear. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Once a good place to eat and now ..... won’t be hard to keep away. Rudest people ever

I visited here on Friday with my Dad, Brother and Sister. As always the meal was fantastic. Service was prompt, polite and friendly (not pushy and didn’t feel like they were trying to rush us through, as a lot of places now a days do)

This has always been my favourite curry house in Chessington and probably always will be. Great menu and food is always great whether it’s eat in or take away.

We have been coming here for years at New Year’s Eve. First few times it was a quiet night. Now this place is really busy and a great atmosphere. We leave like most before midnight.

Had a great takeaway from the Red Rose. We usually eat in but decided to have a home treat. Food arrived on time and was nice and hot and tasty. King prawn sag was delicious with lovely juicy prawns. The lovely friendly phone greeting when I called through the order was much appreciated. Our family number one place for a meal out.

We are local customers who have visited this restaurant a few times. We have not really had issues before but the service we received last time we visited was unacceptable. The sheer attitude and rudeness of one particular waiter totally ruined our Friday night dining experience. When we confronted him on the way out, he gave us a sarcastic 'I don't give a damn what you think' grin and closed the door. (I would use a stronger terminology but Trip Advisor will not allow it) Never experienced anything like it! Why on earth this guy is doing a customer service job is beyond me. We won't be returning.

The Red Rose is simply a hidden gem We have never had a meal that was not tasty The nan's are made in house and are the best you will have ever tasted Try the salmon curry and delight your tastebuds!

Booked for a family party for nine people at 8pm. We arrived 10 minutes early, but the table was not ready. We waited in the small entrance for a few minutes while other diners finished, and then the staff quickly prepared our table. It was laid very smartly, with nicely folded napkins. We were immediately offered drinks and poppadoms with pickles, and the menus. The food came quickly, and was distributed without any confusion. The portions were large, served hot, and tasted good. At the end we were all offered a complimentary drink. The food and the friendly good humoured service contributed to a successful party. We will return for meals with a smaller party.

We used to come here years ago but the standard then dropped, we were told recently that it had improved immensely so we returned and we're thrilled with our meals. We come once a week now. Polite, welcoming staff, super service, delicious food and always a lovely evening.

Only come here if you are really rich and on a major crash diet, to say the portions are small is an understatement,I had a vindaloo for around £7.15 and it was smaller tgan what I would expect from an appetizer, to add insult to injury had to pay extra for rice "again tiny", total waste of money

The wife and I went on a rare night out and unfortunately we were disappointed with the whole thing we were met at the door and ushered quite rudely to a table next to another couple which was awkward as we were the only people in there. We had a menu shoved in our faces before we had even sat down and took our coats off! When the food finally came it was wrong and the rice was watery I tried to say I wasnt happy but they just shrugged at me! We left feeling rather disappointed but knowing we would never return

Visiting from Australia and we were taken there my a friend who lives locally. Food and service were excellent and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

Having heard from some local folks how good this place is we decided to give it a go. We decided to pick up our meal as have heard that your meal can turn up cold if you opt for delivery.The food is of fantastic quality, the chicken was as fresh you could want & was delish, lots of it as well.I think the cost for 2 meals was excessive £32.00, but they included a free bottle of lager.Glad I tried it but I like my curry a bit less mainstream & more spicy (hot).

Im living in this neighbourhood nearly a yr and i never visit this plc and i compelled myself to go n visit this plc...one of the waiter escorted and assigned me a table which i was unhappy.Secondly i ordered lamb rogan josh which came as was mediocre..i was irritated and annoyed when one the waiter mocking all around,putting hands in pocket infront of me cos i was sitting opposite of bar.I m not criticizing but only asking management should edify the mistakes to best of the abilities..At the end i left the tip and i walked out..

One of the best Indian meals I've had in a long time. We regularly go out for an Indian meal to Surbiton and surrounding areas and can honestly say this is one of the nicest meals I've had in ages... totally recommend it

We must have been eating somewhere different if this is the best curry house in the UK. The curry was ok, side of potatoes very bland. The service was friendly but had to ask for order to be taken a few times and for the bill. Staff appeared busy dealing with the takeaways. Fairly average local restaurant and just seemed there something missing

I have written a few reviews on this place. The staff here are great - first classI have tried a lot of the menu now and most dishes can be adjusted to the spicy taste that you want - just ask. Not sure they can do this with the coconut or creamy ones. Tried a new dish tonight and asked for it to be hotter - they got it 100% rightThis is one of the best curry houses in the U.K. - if you are in the area, this is a 'must do'

Great food, great service, great price! They tied red Ballons to the tables and gave every lady a red rose when leaving after the meal. Very nice touch!

We came across this fabulous Indian restaurant last Christmas when visiting relatives in the area. The food was excellent then and it didn't disappoint last week, in fact we were so impressed on Saturday night that we went back on Sunday! The food is delicious, the service is superb, the atmosphere is great and our waiter Nahid is delightful. We cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and would recommend The Red Rose to anyone.

This restaurant attractive and welcoming. The menu is typical of Indian Restaurants. I had a Lamb Byriani and it was full of flavour with tender chunk of lamb. My fellow diners all enjoyed their meals. I would recommend this place.

I'm going to be honest with you, my friends. This place has apparently (or at least HAD last time I checked) got a ZERO star hygiene rating. Actual zero! I'd suggest you count them but you can't because there are none. I cannot even begin to imagine what type of filth warrants zero stars, but that's not the most shocking part of this. The shocking bit is, that despite the imagined cesspit of a kitchen, we still order from them every Friday because the FOOD IS REALLY GOOD. I like to order my curry with a massive dollop of denial. If you do too then I'd recommend giving it a whirl because they haven't disappointed us yet.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night. We asked the waiter a number of times to take our order. We said on that he was coming. We had clearly placed our order before at least one party but our food arrived after theirs.As we are from an Asian background, when ordering we asked for all dishes to be spicy. All the curries were bland and lacked the authentic flavour. On a plus side the locals seemed to enjoy the food but coming from London we have a better choice of Indian restaurant. We have Tamarind (Michelin star Restaurant) opening a new branch a near by. On a plus there was no service charge added to the bill and we choose not to leave a tip.

We came here on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The starter was amazing and very fresh "prawn puree" and our mains, lamb khari it was really tasty. We will definitely be back & thank you for the warm welcome the staff are young guys but very professional.
