Always love this place. Staff are really nice and it’s such a great atmosphere. Great for me to escape after work.

Complete tosser of a barman. Asked if we can come in because it says open at 11, then said no 12 today and slams the door in our face.

Thomas and the amazing staff were welcoming and so hospitable. This hospitality was only beat by the incredible food and wine at a ridiculously fantastic price point. I was staying in the area and searched for a top fish and chip option. Their version did not only disappoint but excelled an already high expectation. I was sold on the red lion by reading these reviews and now I want to make the best one possible. Well done Tom and team. I will be back when next in London!

We had a lovely family dinner here yesterday and the service from Tom was 5***** Paul Sue and family from Bromsgrove and Walthamstow.

The Red Lion was everything we hoped to find. Historical, inviting, friendly and great beer choices. So many Red Lion pubs in London, this is one of the best.

Extremely rude and selfish services especially the woman who addressed us at the bar counter. We got to know about a free drink offer and asked her about it, she was very unfriendly and uncoorperative about it. Highly disrespectful.

A nice venue when it's not too busy. Reasonably priced drinks and a good selection of gluten free/alcohol free options for those so inclined. I'd avoid it at rush hour if you're looking for something quiet.

Magnificent establishment, and a welcome contrast against the towering bustling city it is nestled within. A great deal of effort must have been put into keeping this historic establishment looking as pristine as it is since as its a 17th century building, gleaming gold trim and rich mahogany throughout. Great beer selection too and dead friendly staff. 10/10 historical gem Would highly recommend

Decent old school pub, attentive bar staff, quick service. Decor is traditional and beer is good. Around £7 per pint which is okay for city of London.

On the face of it this is a great pub however the bar staff KNOW that there are local thieves targeting professionals and yet do NOTHING to prevent this from happening despite recognising them coming into the pub on a regular basis

Nice pub but an APPALLING chicken & bacon sandwich at lunchtime. Stale, dry and tiny bloomer slices (not sourdough as advertised) with scraps of chicken and a tiny amount of bacon which looked half cooked alongside a ‘salad’ of rocket with a squirt of 1,000 Island dressing and what looked like quarter of a tomato. Reluctantly ate it as we had a meeting over the road, paid and gave the bar staff feedback. Took our customers elsewhere after the meeting! Do better!

The Red Lion Pub is a gem! Tom and the bar staff are incredibly hospitable. Their Guinness is the best I’ve had in London, and the charming atmosphere creates an all round delightful experience.

One of my favourite City pubs - tiny inside but a decent sized bar and fine selection of beers. Close to Liverpool Street and Moorgate to accommodate the dash for the last train.

The service here is excellent. They are friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere is always welcoming. If you're in the area pop in and Tom and the team will look after you.

Great spot in the City for after work drinks, staff are all very friendly and accommodating, been a few times and they turnover the drinks very quickly which is great - no one likes waiting for a beer! Would give it a 6 star if I could!

Amazing pub in the City of London. Old School feel but modern drinks menu and amazing food. Seriously good pub with stunning interior and Tom was so helpful and friendly. Can’t believe how quick the service is considering there were well over 200 people inside and out. Can’t recommend highly enough!!!

Had a delightful meal with friends here last night. It was very close to both Moorgate and Liverpool St stations - go perfect location. Lovely little small pub. Was able to book easily online - and had a table reserved for me in the main pub. Food was great value and delicious. Would recommend the Vegan Chilli! Opening a tab was no problem - and the best bit was the staff. Tom really looked after us - despite the poor chap having a broken arm!!!! As it was bank holiday and OK weather - the bar was bustling. I was therefore gob-smacked to discover they have a 20:00 closing time on a Saturday. So literally a pub full of people were (politely) asked to leave and stop spending money. Greene King might want to review this part of their business model.... I would have stayed longer as it was a great venue with great service - but sadly I had to leave and spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. I would have liked to see the upstairs area but that was already closed when I arrived at 18:30. Anyway - lovely small, friendly, traditional pub. Would deffo go back!!

A great little pub on the corner of Wilson Street offering a fine array of both cask and keg ales. The Red Lion is a lovely offering from Greene King. Friendly, traditional and welcoming. The service is great and with a smile. A lovely twist on the menu offering the 'invisible Mac' to give support to cancer patients. A menu option, so positive and discretionary, well done.

Great pub! I was in place after work I can't count. It's a good place for a drink... or few after work.

Visited Saturday 18th February with a friend and stayed for a few beers. Really like the Red Lion and will be back. London pubs are notoriously expensive but this is not bad. Around £12.50 for a Guinness and Peroni. I've certainly paid a lot higher. The bar area is lovely with a vast choice on offer. It's clean and airy and when we visited at the weekend, a lot of passing trade. The gents facilities (which are downstairs) were impeccable too - always a big thing for me. Looking forward to returning.
