Popped into this pub on a whim and ended up having such a great time—huge shoutout to Olly, who made the experience even better. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure everyone was having a good time. I was having a bit of a rubbish day, but Olly’s friendly attitude and solid service really lifted the mood—cheers for that.

I had an absolutely sensational experience. In particular one individual made this an extra special pub night. His name was Olly. An absolutely outstanding vibe. Complete positivity. Behind the bar pouring pints, vodka cokes. Whatever we wanted. Can’t praise this man enough.

We visited them from Panama recommended fish and chips and the meat pie recommended

Good food, came quickly and was piping hot. Friendly staff and a good price for Central London. No complaints!

Typical English pub, founded in 1799, very close to Liverpool Street station. It has several types of beer, as well as a food menu. I stopped just to have a beer before catching the train, choosing a half pint of Peroni Italian beer, priced at £3.70 (€4.50). I liked it a lot, the place is very nice and at the time I went it was very quiet. The attention, very good.

Olly is way better than slavi. Great barman excellent bants and generally a good guy. Merry Xmas

Christmas menu advertised Christmas menu booked. Attended for a work meal and they had no turkey. We were also required to get off of our table within 90 minutes, which wasn’t advertised. All of the staff, however, were very friendly and accommodating as much as they could be.

Our server was super nice and helpful! The atmosphere is really cozy. I ordered the pie and mash and it was amazing.

Served by Olly and Tom the team leader. Fantastic service and the personal attention and care. Flown in from Luxembourg on a business trip and would recommend to anyone in the area. Great little pub! Friendly staff & cosy atmosphere.

The atmosphere is busy, pub is clean, beer is cold. The food was disappointing, pie crust was stogie, filling was bland, chips were dry.

That’s because Post was a woman and the staff didn’t let her come in, so everyone searched for the name of that restaurant, and so bad you have the same name and same county. I’m so sorry.

Good pub without insane prices of broad gate circle.

I as an immigrant never felt so offensive my food came cold and when I told them I didn’t drink and just wanted some water I had got the most disgusting attitude I went there with my friends. I have never felt so ashamed of my ethnicity next to my friends. They served us extremely late and the atmosphere was just horrible they were acting like we were some animals.

This is hands down the best pub in London. Wonderful staff, terrific grub, and the host for the evening, Tom, was just terrific. Could not recommend more highly. 10/10 I will be back

Complete tosser of a barman. Asked if we can come in because it says open at 11, then said no 12 today and slams the door in our face.

Thomas and the amazing staff were welcoming and so hospitable. This hospitality was only beat by the incredible food and wine at a ridiculously fantastic price point. I was staying in the area and searched for a top fish and chip option. Their version did not only disappoint but excelled an already high expectation. I was sold on the red lion by reading these reviews and now I want to make the best one possible. Well done Tom and team. I will be back when next in London!

We had a lovely family dinner here yesterday and the service from Tom was 5***** Paul Sue and family from Bromsgrove and Walthamstow.

The Red Lion was everything we hoped to find. Historical, inviting, friendly and great beer choices. So many Red Lion pubs in London, this is one of the best.

Extremely rude and selfish services especially the woman who addressed us at the bar counter. We got to know about a free drink offer and asked her about it, she was very unfriendly and uncoorperative about it. Highly disrespectful.
