Nell of Old Drury in City of London, Westminster

Just the most fabulous pub in the area. Superbly welcoming team and a delicious array of drinks - both wines, beers and spirits. A very welcoming pub full of locals and regulars. Can’t recommend it enough.

Sweet little pub that has a quiet upstairs ans pleasant atmosphere. Disappointed not to have any food options.

In a city full of pubs, it's easy to start settling for average. The Nell's got personality, a wonderful staff - and serves a good tipple.

I put the review on last May as “The smell of old dreary” I’m happy to report that the pub’s new management are marvellous. Andrew & Jimmy have turned this place back to The Nell that we all used to know and love. The real ale is now in lovely condition and all the bar staff are friendly and chatty, and the atmosphere is lovely again. All the regulars have commented on how nice it is now. Well done!

Lovely lovely owners lovely vibe, really chill which is hard to find in the area! My friend's bag got grabbed off her chair and one of the landlords came running out after the thieves and grabbed them, got her bag back, truly the definition of going above and beyond! (and it has seating outside which is a win!)

After living in London for over 10 years, I have never noticed this here. I'll be back again for such a great selection of beers and Guinness. The love of London and it's huge amount of pubs.

Stand up happening every Sunday and you don't want to miss this one! I had a good laugh, friendly atmosphere and overall I would definitely go again.

This is where they used when Michael Mcintyre surprised Joe Lycett on his big show TV programme and invited Joe's contacts to a party here at the pub! So funny!

Forced to sit in the dingy upstairs with our 2 quiet well behaved teenage children even though it was dead downstairs, and had to then put up with a constantly crying baby having its nappy changed which stunk the place out. Don't bother 🤢🤮

First discovered this great pub last October while wandering around Covent Garden with my old friend and colleague. Made a point of visiting it again on each night I was back in Central London recently. Great pub, friendly staff and met lots of lovely people, both tourists and locals alike, plus got involved in a couple of Christmas parties, great fun. Was even able to help a German tourist who left her handbag in the pub when she left which involved a quick sprint as far as Aldwych before I caught up with her! Highly recommended and when in London it will be my 'go to' pub in this area, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Usual monthly visit to the pub with the wife and received the usual great service and drinks. Will be back again in the new year.

We had just come from the Novello theatre opposite this quaint old pub. We’d enjoyed Mama Mia and the evening was topped off by a drink with friends in the Nel. Great atmosphere and soon we had more friends! Really old traditional London Pub the Landlady was really knowledgeable about the history of” Nel of Old Drury” we’ll be back…

Lovely quaint little pub with a large upstairs area. Really central to all the theatres and the heart of Covent Garden. Lovely to have a chat with the staff during our visit , Dave made us feel really welcome 🤗 will definitely be returning soon x

Went to visit after seeing Michael McIntyre at the Theatre Royal opposite. Service and drinks very good especially Sandy the landlady who kept the who event that was happening upstairs in check.

Absolutely loved this place! Such a great vibe in central london and around all the theatres too. Georgia behind the bar was so friendly! Definitely will return

We stumbled across this pub and ended up staying longer than planned because of the friendly staff. We got talking to Georgia and Sandy and the drinks kept flowing!

Went for the free Sunday comedy night and it was amazing!! Continuous laughs for a good couple hours from friendly hilarious comedians. If you are around on a Sunday night would 100% recommend. Thankyou for a great night

This is a great little pub right in the centre of Covent Garden. Opposite the Theatre Royale with a great window seat where you can enjoy a beer from a great selection and watch the world go by. Super friendly staff (big shout out to Dave), and we will sure return here!!

Went to the Nell for a couple of drinks this week, enjoyed the Portobello London Pale ale after being recommended it by Dave.

Fantastic pub , only had drinks this time but will be back in September for food as had such a good night, we only popped in for a couple and ended up staying until closing. Absolutely great staff that made our night, especially Sandy, hilarious lady 👍👌👌

Don’t bother with The Nell. Used to be a proper pub but has become a faceless corporate waste of time. The staff are useless and most can’t pour a proper pint. They don’t even bother telling people when it’s last orders. I wouldn’t mind if it was cheap. No atmosphere just a sad corporate boozer like so many others in London.

Made to feel very welcome by Frances when we popped in for a late night drink last night with friends, would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Been here before so knew what to expect. Friendly staff, good drinks selection and pleasant surroundings. My fiends and I sat upstairs for this visit and the bar man even carried some of our drinks upstairs for us! Great service!

I've been here before but do not remember how expensive this pub is. £19 for 2 single rum and cokes. I only work around the corner and there are cheaper places a stone's throw away. It's a shame because the staff are nice and it's a cute place.

I came across this pub by turning the wrong way! The staff were super friendly, and chatted with me about the history of the pub. I ended up staying for a second drink, purely because of their chitchat.

Any time I've ever been for drinks in here I've had an amazing time! The Nell of Old Drury is well known for it's links to the theatre community, and so any night you're here, you're bound to find a few cast members from an assortment of West End Shows. As I'm involved in that industry, I've been here a few times with friends and I love it!

A very friendly pub in the heart of Theatre land. The perfect place to go before during or after a show. Nice area outside to stand and gaze at the many varid people who frequent the area and a real mix of people to drink in the pub aswell. The prices are not too dear and the beer taste like how it should.

Have visited before, safe to say it’s standards are maintained, came before heading to the theatre opposite with my partner. Ales were brilliant, and my girlfriends gin served with lots of fruit.
