Red Lion in Horsham

Our Girls' Lunch last week was simply wonderful! We were greeted warmly by cheerful staff and shown to a lovely table by a bay window. Our waitresses were patient, helpful and attentive - but not overly so. We chose a mixture of Light Bites and Salads to share between us and everything was absolutely delicious. Simon waited on us and was friendly, cheerful and courteous. It really was a wonderful meal, in a lovely environment........ we will definitely be back soon.

Food was disappointing. First visit to the Red Lion for Lunch, website looked great, menu very extensive and expensive. The look of the Red Lion was great outside and in, clean, warm, comforting and cosy. The staff were very polite, pleasant and welcoming. Hats off to the staff. But the food was disappointing for the price, the scallops were over cooked and a tad salty, our daughters steak order came out as wrong and was dealt with politely and taken back to get the right order, but what came back wasn't good, the steak, at £32, was bland, slightly chewy and hard to cut, the whole plate wasn't great, the chips, and my husbands with his fish, were overcooked and very oily and the mushy peas with the fish weren't great, what's wrong with good all marrowfat peas and why put lemon in them?. We both had the side of greens but had no samphire in as stated on the menu. All very disappointing for the price tag and for the amount we actually ate. We decided to bypass desert. On the PLUS side the waiter did apologise for the wrong steak and took the the price of the steak off our bill. I don't give low reviews but on this occasion in all honesty on this experience I would not recommend or revisit.

Staff were lovely, food was tasty and the cocktails were insane!!! We had ALOT of passion fruit martinis - we weren’t rushed and just had such a lovely afternoon! We loved it and Sammy was great waitress who looked after us so well!

New menu fantastic! Starters delicious, we had prawns starter, chedder mushrooms and parfait. Try the beef croquettes! All steaks cooked to perfection. Service was incredible. Thank you to all!

Met up with a friend for a lovely lunch. Excellent food & service from Hugo. Great value for money with plenty of parking.

A lovely warm welcome from Sam the lady on shift, very chatty and fun. Service was brilliant and quick and the food was dead on, couldn’t fault a thing!

Overall very nice food and only down rated due to lack of gluten free friendly options on the starter menu but plenty on the main menus.

Nicki was excellent. Was very attentive and looked after us well, food was very nice as well. Would highly recommend the pork belly.

After prolonged absence we decided to give The Red Lion another go. (Previous visits were not good). However we were greeted by Jade and and shown to a nice table which we had not previously booked. Simon continued the positive welcome and took our orders. He was very attentive and helpful dealing with our very specific dietary requirements without any problems. He liaised between kitchen and ourselves (bearing in mind we had given no prior notice) and was able to cater for us all very well indeed. Service excellent. Food excellent. Many thanks to all who dealt with us.

Excellent service, Nicky was fabulous and very attentive. I had rib eye steak which was delicious. A wonderful night and highly recommended.

The food was brilliant, we had the steak and the nourish bowl. The staff couldn’t do more to accommodate us and Nicky was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back soon!

Visited for the first time today on recommendation and was not disappointed. I took my wife and her Mum for a late Mother’s Day lunch/early dinner, the food was amazing and we were superbly looked after by Sam. There was even live entertainment. Looking forward to a return visit in the summer.

We came in for my mums birthday and was absolutely brilliant are waitress Sam was fantastic really clued up on the menu recommended some brilliant food which tasted lovely. Was able too have some good banta with the wait staff.

Came for a Sunday roast for a family members birthday, lovely food and quick service. Big thank you to Sam! Would recommend.

Inedible food. A dry cold panini with a smear of crab slush and four battered prawns. Even the chips were try and foul tasting. I couldn’t eat it.

We came with friends for dinner as it’s their local and they are very lucky to have such a great place to eat. Service from Nicky and Jade was excellent and the food was exceptional; 2 pork belly, one crab, prawn & chorizo linguine and one sea bass made for four empty plates and we all also had pudding & one espresso martini. The pub is really lovely, comfortable chairs nicely spaced out and a great atmosphere. I wish we lived nearer so that we could go here more often. Highly recommend.

As always fantastic food and fantastic service. We had the prawn starter and the soup followed by the gammon and the chicken burger. Terka was amazing. Really made our lunch special.
