Nice food had the set menu for £19. The waiter let me swap options I didn't like for an alternative. I have been coming here for 23 years where it used to be all you could eat, however, I think the owners would have been better putting up the all you can eat price or adding supplements for more expensive items eg. duck. The reason is that it seems a lot quieter than it used to be and am worried their business may suffer as locals will not like this change. Love Red Leaf, great food & service

This is the 2nd time I have ordered a takeaway from China Diner. The Salt&Pepper chicken wings were very nice, lots of chilli. The Kung Po king prawns were also very nice. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was not. The egg fried rice was a dark brown colour, was obviously over cooked and in stale oil. The Chicken in Garlic was disappointing, I have ordered this from other takeaways and it has always been in a rich garlic sauce, this was dry and lacking in garlic. The special noodles in Sambai sauce was a soggy mess with little flavour. Sambai sauce should be made from lots of ingredients and be hot and fragrant. This dish was bland to say the least, very disappointing. Will I order from here again, No Way. There are far better takeaways in the area that I have used, and will go back to.m

My wife and I went there for my birthday. We booked for 7pm and got there slightly earlier but the table was ready and waiting. The food was lovely, hot when it reached the table and loads of it, its buffet style so you could choose from the menu and the staff brought it out when it was done. You can keep asking for more of the same too, always a good thing. Plenty to choose from and nice flavours to eat, what more could you ask for. The prices were quite reasonable too.

After reading some positive reviews my family and I thought we would visit, as the restaurant described itself as child friendly, and we had three children in our party. From the second we set foot inside the man who greeted us was extremely rude and sarcastic/arrogant. After showing us to a table and ordering us to ‘sit down’ he reluctantly bought out the oldest and dirtiest highchair I have ever seen for my 15 month old daughter. Upon looking at the menu we asked if there was a children’s menu available, but was told ‘no, it’s a Chinese restaurant’ and then said ‘usually children just share deep fried chicken balls. Hardly a varied or appealing choice for little ones! Due to his rude nature and lack of food for the children we decided it best to not waste our money in such an establishment. It was no wonder that there was only two other diners in the restaurant, clearly not a well liked restaurant! Steer clear, especially if you have children with you. Not child friendly at all!

Visited last night Sun 23rd June. We are local and have been to Red Leaf on many occasions over the past years. The restaurant runs on a “eat what you like basis” and has a very wide choice of starters and main dishes all of which are freshly prepared, piping hot and in my opinion of excellent quality. Whatever you decide to eat is bought to the table rather then “buffet style” get it yourself! Couple this to friendly, attentive service and you have the makings of a very good experience. My wife and I enjoy a mix of starters, first being Soup. I like the hot & sour and my wife likes Chicken and sweetcorn. We follow that with a mix of starters, ribs, salt and chilli prawns, sesame prawn toast, malay spring rolls, seaweed, chicken satay etc. We normally have about 6 dishes on the plate for us to pick and chat over. Kind of a “Chinese tapas”. That is then followed by duck pancakes with all the trimmings. We normally then stop as we cant eat anymore! Those with bigger bellies can of course do the norm and move on to the main course of which the selection is vast and once again, eat what you want. So to summarise, food of very high quality and delicious. As much as you want (but don't leave / waste any!). Service also superb, friendly, fast and attentive. Value for money is right up there with the best. We look forward to our next visit.

Amazing food great portions eat as much as you can but mains (thankfully) come as half portions as we were stuffed from starters and duck! Had an issue with drinks however, which tainted the evening - forgetting to put vodka in drinks is kinda stupid especially when it’s doubles!!! You can’t knock them for trying - but to be honest it’s a cheap trick! Not on.

No where near as good as it used to be. Spicey chilli squid used to have a sauce but now it doesn't and it was so chewy and dry. The mussels in the seafood noodles was a odd grey colour, and the prawns were white in colour and soggy. The whole experience was unpleasant and overpriced. I don't mind paying a steep price if the food was fresh and tasty but unfortunately this was not the case. The meal didn't look good and it tasted nasty. Won't be returning which us a shame as we used to love Red Leaf.

I can’t fault this place. I’ve been many times before and I think it deserves a decent review. Having been during a lunch service it’s very quiet but the food is fresh and delicious and the staff are always really helpful. Our waitress had very limited English and didn’t understand what lager was but we couldn’t have a problem with her because she was fast, helpful and very attentive. The outside of the restaurant is very tired which is a huge shame. It’d take a huge investment to decorate such a substantial building and its sad it’s been allowed to deteriorate so badly because it really is a stunning building with beautiful high windows and tall ceilings. It’s a hidden gem in Yarmouth and if you’re peckish of a lunchtime, it’s well worth a visit. The all you can eat menu is fab and the portions are ample.

We have eaten here as a family many times and always found it to be a pleasant although a little costly experience. However tonight we came as usual but 1 of us could not eat due to medical condition but wanted to still be part of the group. We said that only 2 of us were eating so we was told we would still have to pay for all 3 meals as we had sat down unless we wanted to pay seperately for every individual dish! So we ate anyway and paid what was asked to then be charged an extra charge for paying on debit card! Im only glad i didnt need to use the toilet as i would probably have been charged for that too! With the amount it cost the place should really be given a coat of paint and the filthy entrance hall carpets a clean!

Went last Friday evening at 6.30pm. Had not booked were able to accommodate 4 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2. Place was freezing cold, a couple of us kept coats on. After a while were asked what we would like to drink, waitress struggled to understand when we asked what childrens drinks they had, rapidly went downhill from there. Finally sorted drinks and waitress then came back for starters order. Which arrived reasonably quickly but still no drinks. These eventually came. Starters finished and duck course came. We had to ask to order mains after another considerable wait. Now the best bit, the bill, having ordered no food for the 2 children other than one portion of chips, the children had a bit of what the adults were eating, we were charged £10.50 for each child. We queried this with waiter and the manager came to speak with us. She told us that we should only have asked for a table for 4 adults and not the 2 children, I don't know where she thought we were going to put the children whilst we ate! The £21 was taken off the bill, but still a charge of £3 for a portion of chips but were told in no uncertain terms that next time they would be charged for. For goodness sake, what 2 year old child would eat £10.50 worth of food, or even a 5 year old for that matter. Will never set foot in the place again!

Never ever again. Arrived there on a Tuesday night, to find the restaurant was completely empty, could hear a pin drop. also the feel of the restaurant was very damp and cold. Got seated straight away(because it was empty) on the worlds smallest table. The waiter was kind and helpful. We hadn't eaten there before so he kindly explained the menu, although the menu was difficult to understand and had to ask a few times to get the full understanding. We ordered drinks straight away, they came back a big disappointment. Both drinks were flat. Then the waiter was very Eagar to take our Oder and both felt like we was on put on the spot. "Are you ready to Oder" would of been a reasonable question to ask. So we ordered and the food was particularly quick which I can't fault. Although the chicken balls were coated in grease and slightly soggy. The chips were covered in salt, The rice was lumpy, the beef curry we ordered was also very thick and chewy. We finished and went off to pay. Extortionate prices!!!!!! Didn't expect to pay that much for so little. We asked about the prices and didn't really get anywhere. It's safe to say I shall never be heading back to this restaurant in any time soon.

We booked a table for Myself, Wife, Daughter and her Partner for 6.00 pm on Tuesday, thinking that booking wouldnt be necessary. By 6.30, the place was heaving so glad we booked. It is a Fixed Price Menu and you can have as much food as you want to eat, the only caveat being that uneaten food will be charged for at menu prices, to avoid waste. We selected a mixture of eight starters and all came quickly to the table, piping hot and beautifully presented. When we had finished, the friendly waiter asked if we wanted any more or should he bring the Duck and Pancakes.A large plate of shredded duck arrived with steamed pancakes, cucumber and spring onions and a dish of sauce. We had three pancakes each, all overfilled with duck, there was so much of it, and again, when finished we were offered more, but we chose to move on to the mains, except for my daughter who ordered another dish of mixed starters. The Main courses of Lemon Chicken, Chicken Sweet and Sour and Chicken noodles, together with fried rice was also plentiful and outstanding value. After this mammoth feast, we could hardly move and had loosened our trousers for comfort Next time I will wear an elasticated waist! The price for all this with all our drinks, an incredibly low £83.00 for four of us. Even with the generous tip, it was a bargain meal, which we will be repeating again shortly. The only minor criticism I could make is the dining room could do with extra lighting. It is a shade to dark for my taste but that did not spoil an altogether outstanding meal.

I used to think this place was one of the best places to eat in GY, the front has always needed a lick of paint to match the decent interior and the service was always good.First of all, I think it may have changed hands as a lot has come off the menu. My mum took us there to celebrate my sister-in-law becoming a solicitor. The staff were friendly. The first round of drinks were a bit of a disaster, the cokes were flat and I ordered a Chinese lager that had never seen the fridge. The starters were lovely although, especially the thai style ribs and the spicy squid. The midcourse of duck was also very nice, although we had to wait quite a long time for the Hoi Sin Sauce. The second round of drinks took ages to come and the draught Beck's Vier tasted like the pipes could do with a clean. One of the party had Thai Green Curry, that we all felt wasn't great, the cashew prawns were lovely as was the Kung Po Prawns, I would strongly recommend the ginger and spring onion beef. The pineapple and coconut rice was lovely too although one portion wouldn't be enough to share between two.I have been coming here for years and this was my first disappointing visit for somewhere I used to think was quite lovely, hopefully they'll get back on track.

Presented with the bill (over £250 for all of us) and presented pre loaded (with funds) Mastercards. Refused to take these and said that they had never seen this type of payment before, after ringing the owner, so had to pay with another card with pin. Then had the cheek to add 50p for the privilage of using their card PDQ machine. Come on wise up and get in the 21st century. Personally I will not be back there again

With my reliance on a wheeled walking frame, access and egress here is a problem because there are 4 steps, relatively wide treads but shallow risers. The lunchtime special menu is excellent value, a wide choice of dishes and generous servings.

The food here really is very very good - clean fresh taste and one of those places that you eat everything as the flavours just keep on coming. Lovely varied menu - the only criticism I would have is the girl who served us was really grumpy and could not even raise a smile! Would not put me off but maybe ask to be served by somebody else ha ha!

Visited here whilst on holiday with the family and booked a table prior to our arrival. We are all big eaters and we're looking for something that would give us choice and quantity! Everything was cooked to order and arrived hot. Service was a little slow at times but the place was busy (always a good sign!). We were all stuffed and went home happy!

I visited here with my family and boyfriend a few months ago and I was appalled at the attitude from the manager, it is easy to see that she does not take criticism kindly free a phone call which she had she was shouting at a young lady who worked there in front of staff. Lady was extremely rude while taking our order and snapped whenever we said the same food twice. Food also took a long time to come out in which my table and the table in front were frustrated with. Manager was extremely rude to my nan when confronted at how appalling it was. Food is beautiful but service completely ruins it. I will not be returning.

We have been using this restaurant for over 10 Years. I can report that we have never ever had any cause to complain, The Lunch menu is superb value & in the evening it is like visiting a different restaurant. Have sampled many different things on the menu & just keep coming back for more. Don't understand the negative reviews but nobody is perfect. If you had a bad experience give them another try. Hopefully you will be glad you did!!

We visited here last year and enjoyed the meal. Read up on reviews saying not to bother entertaining but decided to try it again for ourselves. The service and meal were both very good. Will be visiting again next time we are in yarmouth

If you know anything about Chinese food, you'll probably want to give this place a miss.£17.50 per head for a buffet is too much for the standard of what you are getting. However, if it's quantity you want, go for it!

Visited here on the 11th April for my sisters birthday. As a party of 10 we booked in advanced and were greeted as usual by friendly staff. We ordered our drinks and then were taken to our table. What we love about this restaurant is that it is buffet style in the sense of its all you can eat but the food is cooked fresh and brought to your table. If there isn't enough, you order more. If there is something wrong, they're very quick to rectify. I don't understand all of the negative reviews for this place. It's a decent price for all you can eat (people whinging about £10-15 makes me think that they think McDonald's is a good price and gourmet food) As usual we left feeling very very full and content. Note: starters are amazing. The mains are on the small side but that's justifiable considering you can keep ordering starters then duck and soup.

Service is efficient but surroundings and ambiance seem be aimed at giving the impression that this is an upmarket/special restaurant. It isn't. We paid a premium for below average (served) buffet food which we found bland and not very warm. Pancakes for crispy duck were cold. We were unable to eat two of the dishes on offer as they simply didn't taste very nice. The restaurant has only one dining option- the fixed price buffet menu. I'd expect to pay this sort of money in a great Chinese restaurant in London or New York. This is not a great restaurant. And it's in Yarmouth. Beware - Drinks are also expensive and prices for these are not clear.

We often pop in here, the lady who manages there knows who we are and is brilliant. We work on a farm and we have often ended up turning up here gone 10pm on a Saturday or Sunday, looking slightly disheveled when sonething has gone awry and are in need of dinner later than we planned! we have been greeted warmly and told it is fine to eat even at that time. Food is yummy, drinks nice, atmosphere lovely. Can't fault them :)

Had never visited this restaurant before but thought we would give it a go... the decor is lovely and the ambience even better.. its clean and modern and with dimmed lighting and a candle on every table really gives it a relaxing feel. At first i was surprised by the all you can eat buffet as there is no food out you order from the menu but can order as much as you like as many times as you like! Which wasnt necessary as after the huge selection of starters, duck course and mains and sides i couldnt possibly fit in another morsel... every dish we ordered was fantastic can not fault one thing! It was so much nicer than the normal chinese buffet.. not your usual cheap and cheerful.. very reasonably priced at £15.50 a head considering the amount of food you get and they are always offering you more which is nice to see! The two ladies working tonight were both lovely, very helpful and a credit to the restaurant. Will definately be back!!

Probably my 4th visit, I've never been disappointed - my earlier visits were when it was a standard restaurant, now it's an all you can eat style. This works really well & the service was swift & efficient, asking if we wanted to rest between courses helped with the feeling of not being rushed as sometimes this can be the case in other buffet style restaurants. Starters were plentiful, the mid course of crispy duck was suggested to us, I thought this was good as sometimes you feel you are limited in terms of ordering items. Main courses were tasty & arrived hot, we had to ask them for the dessert menu which again is unusual as its frequently the add ons that help their profit margins. All in all a really good experience with many of the other diners appearing to be having fun.

Can't see how anyone can knock it!!Best by far...we were greeted warmly and shown to a table(we hadn't booked). They explained the options and we opted for the buffet. This was a buffet with a difference! All fresh cooked and a wide, varied menu, we picked 4 starters, then decided on the crispy duck and chicken & sweet corn soup- again all cooked to order and fresh. The lovely waitress asked if we wanted to take 10 mins rest before ordering the mains but we decided to keep going and ordered 4 mains and some noodles...again cooked to perfection. Really could not finish it but had a good go, the wonderful waitress even asked if we wanted a dessert!! At this point, for heath & safety reasons, we declined. At no point did we feel rushed and could not fault it in anyway. Would recommend this to lovers of Chinese & Thai food. Absolutely Golden!!!

Went here 4 lunch & wasn't disappointed. £7.50 gets u a starter, main & soft drink. There were 3 of us so we're shared the dishes. The lady brought us side plates without us asking. The main meal also comes with a side of rice or noodles. All was very tasty.

If you are thinking of going, don't bother. One of the worst meals I have eaten.Starters were poor. I had seaweed which had no taste.Ribs were ok. Sauce was very sweet.Thai Chicken wings never had any taste of Thai about them.Duck was ok, quiet fatty and not crisp in my opinion.I didn't bother with main course, I was that disappointed. You get as much as you want to eat, it's just very poor quality.I also ordered a pint of lager, which was off and tasted rank.I changed to bottle beer after discussing with the waitress. Will never set foot inside the place ever again and I winked suggest you don't either.

Arrived at 7.15pm and given a table quickly. It became very clear that with three large tables and an almost full restaurant the serving staff were struggling to give good service. Seaweed was chewy, ribs lacked flavour and there wasn't enough sides for the duck. We only managed two courses as were still waiting for our mains at 8.45pm and our car park ticket was running out. The waitress was mildly apologetic and said this happened once or twice every year. They hadn't planned on such a busy Tuesday night. Tried to give us 15% discount I asked for 50%, settled on 30%. I suggested that if the restaurant was busy this should have been mentioned before we sat down. A real shame as it had been recommended to us. Just read a poor review for service for 17th August so you have been warned!

Probably the worst Chinese I’ve had! Not very warm, very little sauce for the chicken balls, no flavour throughout, very disappointing

We have been holidaying in Hemsby for many years now and this Chinese takeaway does not disappoint!!! The food is so fresh and tasty, and it certainly beats most of the takeaways back where we live. I really recommend trying this Chinese, and please don't stop what you are doing - you are amazing!

We moved to the area last year and still haven’t found a Chinese takeaway that we all love. Tonight, We wanted to try out a new one. We chose wing li - and WHAT A MISTAKE! We ordered £47 worth of food for the family, which included sweet and sour chicken balls, two lots of chicken fried rice, satay chicken, chips, egg fried rice, bbq sauce, and a pancake roll. The satay chicken was just a bunch of chicken in a sweet and sour like sauce with lots of veg and little bits of peanut - only had hints of a real satay chicken. The chips were like fries, not proper Chinese chips, while the sweet and sour sauce itself looked curdled with little bits (not sure what they are) floating around in it. The “egg” fried rice tasted like just boiled rice fried for a couple of seconds. The quotation marks on the egg in the previous sentence was because the egg fried rice didn’t have any egg in it. The pancake roll was mushy as well as very very salty. And finally the bbq sauce was like a thick balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Nothing like bbq sauce whatsoever. To us, it was an absolute waste of almost £50 and I would not recommend whatsoever. I ended up giving the dog the egg fried rice and even he didn’t eat it - so that’s really saying something! However, if you do order from here, I hope your food was better than ours, or you’ll be going really hungry! Ps: the pic is of the sweet and sour sauce 🤮

Incredibly tasty, well cooked food. And they take cards!!! This is definitely the best Chinese take-away ever! The prices are reasonable; the staff are friendly and everything is super fresh. They are also very helpful in describing the dishes and can adjust accordingly - no mushrooms in 'x' etc. It can get busy so would advise to phone ahead as they have 'locals' travelling up from Wangford and Beccles on the Suffolk border to eat here. I believe they also deliver too. We would never go anywhere else.
