Called for a takeaway whilst holidaying in the area. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu & the food was fresh & cooked well. 100% recommended. It’s just a shame you can’t order & pay online to collect.

We were staying in the village and rang at late notice to see if there was a table available. Yes! There was and although the restaurant is just outside of the main area it was fairly busy. :-)The service was top notch with our waiter being attentive and understanding,I cook lots of Indian food at home and believe myself to be pretty good at it. Especially with the knowledge that the food is fresh and cooked/marinated within the optimum time frames.Red Indigo’s food did not disappoint! The Lamb Tikka was awesome whilst the Lamb Chilli Garlic Marsala was very close to being as magnificent as mine! ;-) Really lovely restaurant. Sad to see a couple of bad reviews as that is most certainly not what we experienced. I’d go as far as to say this might be my favourite Indian restaurant of all time. Thanks Red Indigo. :-)

Very poor Indian food, insane amount of onions. Butter chicken was like a home made korma. Mutter paneer had so many onions it was inedible.

Had a takeaway from here last weekend whilst staying in the area. The food was all well cooked, piping hot and decently priced. The lamb tikka was moist and tasty, the chicken tikka bhunna had plenty of chunks of meat, the rice light and fragrant, however the matter mushroom paneer was a little bland. All in all a decent meal for the price.

Ordered 2 curries and 2 deserts for me and my girl. This being the first take away since the start of lockdown and the food was inedible. My chicken in my madras was hard and horrible and both deserts had mould in them and couldn’t be eaten. I’ve never been more disgusted by a take away in my life

We had food from Red Indigo in Crickhowell delivered to our door in Gilwern last night. From phoning to place the order through to delivery and the quality of the food itself, we could not find fault. The order was taken efficiently by phone and I was able to pay there and then. The delivery was quick and friendly and the food still lovely and warm. We had Saag Paneer, Vegetable Korma and Lamb Malai with rice and poppaduns with chutneys. The food was all high quality and delicious. The Korma was full of vegetables and not just mostly sauce as can sometimes be the case, the lamb was tender and tasty, and the Saag Paneer was also lovely. This was a real treat during these days of lockdown! Thank you Red Indigo! We will definitely be ordering again.

Red Indigo is just outside Crickhowell and happened to be at the end of our road so we walked there one night on our holiday in Wales. We were impressed by the menu which had many unusual dishes and even more impressed and delighted with the food itself. We visited Red Indigo during a trip to Crickhowell during late August 2019. The restaurant, which is clearly an old pub, is within walking distance from Crickhowell. We were staying on the Riverside Caravan park and it was about a ten minute walk from the restaurant on fairly level ground. We didn't book and on arrival we were seated in the entrance lobby but soon taken to a table in the restaurant. The appearance is 'slightly worn' but clean and tidy so no issues there. We were served with drinks fairly quickly and handed menus by a pleasant waiter. We ordered the popadoms and pickles, starters and mains with rice and naans for four people. Service was fairly quick and the food very good. Our bill came to just under £100 which included two rounds of drinks so less than £25 per person. We would certainly return to Red Indigo on future visits.

So when we travel as a family, we like most British families enjoy a ruby and this is an honest review from a British Indian. Like most commercial Indian restaurants the menu is standard. Poppadoms were standard. Service was really slow, 1 hour and waiting on mains when the place is half empty? Aloo paratha had no seasoning but the rest of the dishes were standard British. Probably tastes better when drunk. 5.2 rating average and would not return.

This is the worst ‘Indian’ food we have ever eaten. All curries were too sweet and too red (so much food colour), you could say they definitely came out of a tub. So bad that my kids who love Indian food just ate chips and left the rest. The service was terrible, no one took our order inspite of asking a few times for it, and we received our food 45min after ordering (what I don’t understand is if all they had to do was mix sauces out of a tub with veggies, what took them so long).

This place is unprepossessing from the outside and we stumbled on it by accident following a walk in the hills above it. Menu looked good so we went the next night and that was a good decision by us. The service was excellent from the lady on the desk, the waiter and (I assume) the manager. Only 3 staff and a decent turnover of customers for a Monday night. Food was excellent (my meat grill and my wifes biriyani) and good sized portions - so much so we took the rest with us which provided lunch on a walk the following day. Asked the desk to book us a cab at the end which arrived in 3 minutes so all-in-all a perfect evening. Poppadoms, 2 beers, large glass of wine and 2 main courses all for well under £40. I would definitely recommend.

We had a delicious meal, beautifully presented, with friendly and efficient service. The food also arrived quickly. Some Indian restaurant food is a bit oily and overcooked, but this was perfect. The saag was a very tasty fresh vegetable dish, the tarka dhal was substantial and delicious, not too runny. There are also a number of Chef specials. I had a Mintawala (I think), and it was unusual and very tasty. You can also get the side dishes as mains (still quite cheap), which is great for vegetarians. The decor is bright and not cliche Indian, but there is a little tucked away low-lit bit for anyone feeling romantic!

This superb Indian restaurant looks distinctly unimpressive from the outside, resembling a bog standard, unloved house on a busy road. My wife and I visited on a cold, damp November night on which a misanthropic wind was doing its best to convince us to remain holed up in the hotel along the road. Thankfully we didn't though as this is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in. The food was spankingly good and the staff were sparkling and attentive. Our elegantly bearded waiter cut a very fine dash and wouldn't have looked out of place on the set of a Bollywood blockbuster. We have come to Crickhowell for the last few years and always mean to go here and haven't so this time we were determined to have some food from there. We went on line and had a look at the takeaway menu which is different to the in house one. The take away menu is amazing so so much choice. We had Sag aloo to start with popadoms follows by chicken tikka and chicken saag and a garlic and coriander nann, all were so good. I was tempted by the tandoori chicken but it's on the bone but they offered to do it off the bone for me which was great and shows it's all cooked fresh. We both said one of the best curries we've had and really friendly staff.

We've dined here a number of times as my parents live locally. Great food & service. Highly recommended!

Struggling to think of where to eat on a weekend away we decided to go for a curry and ventured upon the red indigo. What a findLovely interior to the restaurant. All very clean and well looked after. Staff were great. Whilst a usual Indian menu the cooking was lovely and we ordered plenty and finished every last bit. Really was top notch. Would recommend to anyone and will be going again if back in the area. Thank you!

Check your bill before paying. The last time we were charged for a whole bottle of wine instead of a small glass. We had to ask to see the bill before paying, which felt very sneaky. The only reason we asked to see the breakdown was because we had a warning from some friends who have been charged extra recently. Seems like it's happening too many times for it to be innocent, which is a shame because the food is great, and a really nice atmosphere.

We went to Tiffin again tonight, we're fairly regular visitors, and Abdul the owner is great, always makes us feel welcome... Thank You Abdul 😊 My dad has no teeth, Abdul does his best to accommodate, my dad's meal, Aloo Chat with the onion well cooked and the potato cut smaller than normal, he pulls out all the stops to give us the best possible family experience 😊 Tonight Abdul provided candles for my mum's birthday cake, we forgot the candles 🙈 Abdul also agreed to provide me with some of my favourite chicken spring rolls, as a take-away, to cook at home, so I'll have a wonderful snack for the next few days (they're nicer than any others I've found) 😊 He also gave my parents 2 smart looking Cobra Pint glasses as a wedding anniversary gift, it's they're 41st wedding anniversary today so this was a joint 66th Birthday and 41st Wedding Anniversary celebration, they'll treasure them, as a memory of their anniversary 😊 I look forward to my next meal, I keep trying something new, and I'm never disappointed 😁

We went here 'dining in' a couple of months ago and found the food too sweet. On talking to manager I asked if we came again could they reduce sugar. He said the welsh loved the food sweet but they could reduce sugar for us. So tonight we get a takeaway asking for less sugar in korma and pasanda and it was so sweet it was unbelievable! Will not be ordering there again unfortunately .
