Red Hot World Buffet and Bar in Manchester

I came here thinking it would be similar to the one in Belfast but boy was I wrong. The food is way below standards and expectations. Everything you eat is not even slightly warm it is cold as the only thing hitting the containers is a hot counter with not even warm plates on it. No hot lights above either. For £20 I expect much better. Will never return to here and my advice to anyone considering eating here is avoid and do yourself a favour.

Well I have just been to cosmo with a family group of 9 I was dreading it to be honest as I do tend to read reviews well to be honest the food was plentiful and was of a good standard we all enjoyed it we will be back thankyou cosmo

There are some reviews here that reflect our experience which was awful. We booked well in advance for a table for 3 at 7pm on a day that happened to coincide with Eid. We struggled to get up the stairs due to the POSEURS doing their TikTok or whatever and tutting as we tried to climb up alongside them. Once at reception it was chaos. Children running around, people crowding round the hostess with no bookings, etc. We had been allocated a banquette but it turned out someone who had not booked in advance was still sitting there (you have a 90min booking) so we were facing the option of a table next to a large party of 20 or a wait. We decided to vote with out feet and leave immediately. Best thing we did! Thank you to Rayanna who did a grand job, like a calm in the storm amidst the chaos of people blind to the fact that she was already busy whilst asking random questions. She apologised for the issue with the table (not her fault!) and actioned the cancellation for me (otherwise we would have been charged £5 each). Never ever again.

Please avoid. NOT WORTH IT. We wasted our money and time eating here. Run out of food. Toilets were very dirty. Total put off.

I visited here in December 23 for the second time having really enjoyed my first visit. Once again we really enjoyed this visit. The food is not top notch or 5 star dining by any means, in fact there is the odd item that is questionable, however there is a huge choice of meals including Chinese and Indian, and at less than £20 a head for all you can eat you really cannot moan.

Attended for dinner, tasty continental foods, lovely staff. Allows walk-ins and has plenty of room to accommodate a large quantity of guests.

Staff are very helpful! But Food was poor quality, meat tough and inedible, desserts cheap and tasted synthetic Just felt grubby in general, probably due to the huge amount of people in there! Toilets unclean 🙈 System for paying and drinks takes too long Just a very chaotic and unpleasant experience £21.99 + a service charge was NOT good value for money in my opinion! Lots of lovely places to eat in Manchester for less or similar price I Would not go here again, as we were queuing, people coming out were saying “don’t do it” Says it all!!

Wow. The restaurant was very busy however it was the most unwelcoming experience of any restaurant I’ve ever been in. Getting in was the first task. People everywhere, instagramming themselves on the stairs on the way up so you couldn’t get in, kids running about with apparent light fittings…. I get it’s not the restaurants fault to have rude thoughtless rude clientele but surely crowd control should be a consideration? Once fighting our way upstairs past the hip dropped pouting Instagram crowd ignoring their kids destroying the place we then stood, second in the queue for 20 minutes and STILL never spoke to the hostess. While waiting in the heaving mass of mayhem, wait staff bashed rudely into my daughter with no apologies or anything. Never stayed after that, couldn’t be bothered getting bashed about in the queue for however much longer it would have taken. Only persevered for the initial part because we were only visiting Manchester and thought this would be a good shout for dinner since I’ve been in a few up in Glasgow and they’ve been amazing. Off we popped down the road to the Wetherspoons for a good meal, great atmosphere and friendly people.

Wouldn’t rate this restaurant - cold food, not much choice, chocolate fountain not working, place looks tired and needs refreshing, unclean, smells odd as you walk in. However, for £21.99 and then bottomless drink, it was expected. Just didn’t like to see people stood eating from the dishes at the buffet before returning to their seats, kids running all over the place, way too many people. Seated too close together, couldn’t hear each other speak because it was so loud. Toilets were unclean too! Just a bad experience by all, especially for a city centre restaurant which could be made a lot nicer!

The place was packed couldn’t move, people are like animals touching the food and putting it back. The children were getting shoved out the way by adults pushing in to get food. The quality of the food wasn’t very good the chicken in the curry was brown and fatty, my daughter had gammon from the carvery which was more fat than meat. The place wasn’t very clean but that could have been due to how busy it was but staff were standing around when could have been cleaning.

A group of 7 of us visited on Tuesday 20th February for my daughters birthday. Over the years we’ve visited on a number of occasions and had an enjoyable night, but sadly not this time. The restaurant was packed and there seemed to be a couple of very large groups in who possessed no social skills. It was difficult to get near to the food, many of the trays were empty and the food we did get was not of the quality experienced on previous visits. If you’re going to accept so many customers through the door then you’ll need to replenish the food stocks much faster and manage unruly/rude customers. We won’t be back!

Visited Cosmo Manchester on Monday February 19th as we were staying nearby in the premier inn which is only a 2 minute walk away. I would recommend booking a table online prior to visiting. We booked for 6pm and only had to wait approximately 5 minutes for our table. You are allowed 1 hour 30 minutes at your table. Although the restaurant was busy, there was still enough space to move around the food areas and to access the dishes. The table and food areas were clean and staff cleared any plates away. The food was a variety of Curries, Chinese, freshly cooked steak, squid etc to order, roast dinner, salad bar, children’s menu and a dessert selection. The food was delicious and we throughly enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again on our next visit to Manchester.

Now a days you pay for what you get but there should be staff watching the customers? SEEN CUSTOMERS USING THERE HANDS TO GET THERE FOOD ONLY TO PUT IT BACK AND TESTING THE FOOD WITH THE SERVING SPOONS and licking there fingers and touching the servings spoons and tongues for getting your food with everything that’s happened hygiene hygiene

50 minute wait after being told 35 minutes, we’re sat in an area with about 50 other people and the ceiling was leaking so the chairs and floor were soaking, we’re only seated after reminding the woman we were still waiting, upstairs was absolutely packed and no organisation or order in sight, each time we got a new plate I had to get up and ask someone to clear the previous plates from our table, kids were running around almost knocking everyone’s plates over and there was no structure or line just a giant huddle of people , definitely need better trained staff or structure plan for busy Saturday nights, waste of money , after waiting 50 minutes we were only allowed the table for an hour and 20 minutes, with the chaos of the floor we only managed 3 plates each and 1 dessert before having to leave, horrible evening, shame because the food was decent

I took friends for food waited a long time for drinks glasses to be brought after ordering refills on arrival.. looking forward to the Terriyaki food specifically steak and salmon. I was very dissapointed when no steak was available.. or salt & peeper chicken wings.. the salmon was very tasteless this occassion and my friend wasnt happy with scallops.. i spoke with staff who told me to call before arrival to check what is available on menu that day.. the ice cream machine never works ! Pots of cheap mousse as replacements taste like air & are awful. Asked staff member for salt and was told they were where food is.. no offer to get it ! Great customer service.. many seem young staff. The dessert selection is penny sweets, dry bitesize cake, popcorn and fruit not much variety.. however the duck and pancakes were nice also enjoyed chilli duck with tai rice combo.. seating area not very spacious feeling compact not much room between tables.. where we was seated also, my friends wasnt to impressed which was unfortunate

Enjoyed an excellent meal here yesterday. Huge choice of foods from different parts of the world, all hot, appetising and freshly made. Great daytime value. Tables were cleared promptly, staff were charmimg and efficient, especially HAE (?) - sorry if I got your name wrong. The handwashing facility near the drinks station was very useful and appreciated. All in all a veryenjoyable experience. One word of warning though, avoid half term when the restaurant is teeming with children running about with plates of hot food, there are long waits for a table and the restaurant is very noisy. We called the week before (half term) but didn't stop for the reasons given but are so glad that we came back when it was quieter. Great place, great food and great price.

Visited Cosmo as a family meal for our baby daughters birthday. First of all the food was fantastic, everything was hot and fresh, and a lot of things are cooked in front of you (the lamb chops were outstanding).Secondly the girls who were waiting on our table, and the tables around us were amazing, always paying attention to our two daughters and smiling and saying hello, making the experience special for them.I’m not normally a fan of buffet restaurants, but we will be returning in 6 weeks for our older daughters birthday.

Traveled a fair away just to try this restaurant. First impression are good and a good selection of food. Went to the teppanyaki section, and was greeted by a very bad attitude chef who had no manners at all. when asked what kind of sauce we could have, he just pointed to a sign without any eye contact at all. And just threw the food on a plate, like customers are beggers. Really think the restaurant owners need to have harsh words with him and give him new training in how to serve customers.

Went here yesterday with my family and it was such a pleasure! Food was magnificent, so much choice and the quality was brilliant. We was seated in a booth where we greeted by our wonderful waitress Sophie. We ordered our drinks and then went to help ourself at the buffet! I was spoiled for choice. Stations were clean and presentable, table and cutlery was spotless. Plates were removed at the end of each course by Sophie, I couldn’t sing her praises more. She was always checking up on us asking how the meal was and checking if we wanted any more drinks (tea,coffee). Her customer service skills were impeccable and she always approached with a friendly smile. All staff were appropriately dressed and they made the visit extra special- special thanks to sophie for looking after us.Cosmo expect to see us again soon!5***

We queued then when we got to the front got seated straight away as we had booked. Ordered oh drinks and head to the buffet. It was very crowded and took to long to get food, alot of things had ran out such as popadoms,garlic mushrooms,eclairs etc. This further limited my options being veggie, I donot think the price is value for money when you are a veggie alot of it was bland, the sagg paneer was awful. The ice cream machine wasn't working, dessert section extremely lacking. The layout was better at world hot buffet as there was a big enough space for people to walk round without bumping into each other. Wouldn't hurry back.

As a family of four, there was something for everyone here and I thought the quality of the food was excellent. In addition, the service was brilliant - it was my son's 13th birthday and Michael, the manager arranged for him to have a jug of Mocktail which he loved, along with a few freebie bits and pieces. Caitlyn, our waitress also brought cakes with a candle for us to sing happy birthday too. It is a big busy place really well managed, very efficient.

The breakfast is incredible with a fantastic selection to suit everybody's taste and needs. No need to book, just turn up and help yourself. The manager and all the staff are very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!

We came here for a couples nightout, little we did know that there is basically nothing to eat, or its so smelly or poor wuality or bad looking that you won’t want yo eat anyway or the chefs are not there or the machines dont work... whichever way you look at it, its nothing like you think or it sounds. No fish, No asian(pakistani) food, No clean standard ice cream machine.. you’re expected to put your hand in that ice cream tub and take a scoop !

We booked a table for 7, the queue outside was ridiculously long but we just went pretty much straight up because we’d booked. The soft drinks are bottomless and all the food was delicious!! Really nice restaurant but it is busy.

We were so looking forward to our breakfast. The website promised us lots of yummy choice including jacket potato and garlic bread. Neither were available. The sausages and bacon were cooked on a rack with coals underneath that meant they arrived on the plate covered in black bits. I didn't even try the bacon, my partner had one bite and left it. The sausages were tasteless and had a grey look to them. They were left. Both the steamed and scrambled eggs looked rubbery. Didn't try them. Fortunately the black pudding, beans and mushrooms were OK, as was the French toast. The chef did his best with the food. The manager was not bothered in the slightest about our constructive comments. Clearly it is a small price to pay, maybe put the price up and offer edible food. It has now put us off visiting the buffet in the evening too.
