Red Hart Inn Bodham in North Norfolk

Small portions. Overdone beef (not asked how we wanted it). Dessert was very nice but meagre with compote taking up most of the plate. Having been regulars for ages we felt that it was poor value for money and won’t be rushing back again

What a lovely traditional pub, nice food, good sized garden, dog friendly and a great location.

Good meal, good service. Could do with a couple of traditional ales like Doombar, Abbott for example. Apart from that, very nice.

We like it here. We initially started coming along for the monthly Open Mic. Last Sunday, we were outside for the live music. Thoroughly enjoyable. Friendly staff. Good bbq. Parking Thanks Will 👍

Stopped off for a late lunch after visiting Cromer. Nice little village pub with a friendly atmosphere and well behaved dogs are also welcome. Had the sausage and mash served with local bangers & they also did a sausage for my dog !.

Disappointed. Sunday carvery was not a carvery, but a Sunday roast, the roast potatoes were served up half cooked as was the rest of the veg, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt on the edges and raw in the middle. The sliced meat was ok, but was the only thing edible on the plate, sent both plates back to the kitchen for more cooking, but sadly things did not improve. Left most of the food on the plates. Reluctantly paid the bill of nearly £50 and told the staff how disappointing it was, all they said was "I'll let the chef know". Would NOT recommend the place, will never eat there again. Thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Genuinely some of the worst food I’ve ever had. I think the chef must have changed recently as the food was very very different from the photos. Frozen, oven-cooked garbage at gastropub prices. Please stop serving food or fire your chef. (We had cheesy nachos, chicken wings and two ‘homemade’ pies - all awful) A lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Don’t eat here but come for drinks definitely!

Food was awful , ordered the pasta and they very obviously didn't put it in the microwave long enough the center was hot and the rest was stone cold.

I organise our Cycle clubs annual weekend away each year and this year we needed 46 meals over Friday 12th & Saturday 13th July seated all together on a long line of tables. Organizing the event was a piece of cake as my contact Emily, was VERY efficient, ALWAYS reliable & answering promptly, so friendly and helpful too. I congratulate the entire team from Emily, chef to serving team for such a memorable two nights. First time on Saturday evening having a meal with friends. Slight mix up with the booking (they booked a table for 2 when we booked a table for 4). Staff were lovely and attentive, although a bit disorganised and different waitresses kept asking if we wanted more drinks or dessert. Probably didn't help that a big party was in the restaurant, so the staff were very busy! Food was excellant - we will come here again.

Emily and all the staff at the Red Hart gave us the most wonderful, warm reception yesterday and went out of their way to accommodate a large group of almost 20 of us for the England game at virtually no notice. We'll always remember where we were for a very dramatic Quarter Final penalty shoot out! Lovely pub, kids loved the chips and playing Pool and everyone was very friendly! Deffo be back the next time we camp at Breck Farm in August. ❤️

Unfortunately our meal was very disappointing, slice of meat was extremely fatty and chewy, didn’t taste of pork, potatoes where hard and the Yorkshire was very dense and inedible, I left nearly all my plate, very disappointed to go for Father’s Day and being so awful after loving the meal when we went last time. Obviously change of hands /chef, the chef really doesn’t know how to cook

First Yorkshire pudding was black around the rim, Second was cold at the bottom , stodgy. And inedible. Table opposite all had blackened yorkshires. Think they may reheat under the grill. Broccoli was over cooked and charred, green beans turkey and roast potatoes were ok. Side of broccoli cheese had lumpy sauce and the broccoli was nearly raw and therefore inedible. Our waitress forgot what we’d ordered, failed to bring a spoon to serve the broccoli and after asking if everything was okay walked away before I had a chance to answer . Shan’t go there again

You must try the Rump steak at this place,,,,,, Amazing. One of the nicest Rump steak I have ever had. Excellent place

Overall quite excited to have Sunday Roast, service extremely slow but we were a large group. The staff were very helpful but were not given a list of foods no longer available. I personally tried to order 3 different dishes and none were available. Shame as the food was good. Nice pub with big outdoor space.

Very disappointed with our meal on Sunday everything on the plate tasted the same, waited over hour for our food. Packet gravy very very large dense greasy Yorkshire pudding not edible. On the bright side the waitress was very good!!!

Went for dinner on Saturday, had the lasagna it was lovely! Staff are very attentive and atmosphere is welcoming. Would recommend to anyone in the bodham area. Can’t wait to have breakfast. Yum!!

Went along with Gia on Saturday to try some more of the new menu, this time I went for the hunters chicken which did not dissapoint. I’m quite fussy when it comes to eating chicken out, but it was cooked to perfection and I would certainly have it again. Tried the arancini for starters which was also amazing! Staff as always very welcoming and the girls on shift India and Olivia were very attentive. Looking forward to karaoke night next ! Also to add as the options aren’t there, would recommend the mixed grill and the gammon egg and chips x

Hadn't been to the Red Hart for a couple of months so decided to visit again after hearing it had a new landlord. Upon arrival we were made very welcome by new landlord Will Young and the beers are as good as I remember. Will has made a few changes of which my we all agreed was a definite improvement. The food was absolutely beautiful, I thoroughly enjoyed and can recommend the venison pie 'just like mother used to make'. A special thank you must go to 'India', our waitress for the evening, so professional, attentive and nothing was too much trouble, a definite asset to front of house. Get yourselves along there if you haven't been since Will took over.

Great local pub! Variety of beer on tap, good food menu options and plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Quiz nights, darts, pool and multiple tvs with sports. Friendly staff. Stopped in on a visit from Canada and felt like we were a regular. Authentic pub not like the new Gastropubs that all the old style pubs seem to be turning into. Was nice to have an old style pub option.

Will and his staff went over and above helping us have a fabulous Christmas Day meal! We had 2 x vegetarians, a gluten free person and a lactose intolerant person and they accommodated all of our intolerances. The food was delicious and the service brilliant. Thanks guys! 🥰🎄🎅🏽🥳

Booked a few weeks before for a spot of Sunday lunch on our way to a weeks break in North Norfolk. Arrived at 1.30pm, the time we had the table booked for, but it took a few minutes for it to be ready, not an issue. Got seated, but without any menus or asking for a drinks order. So after 10 minutes we asked for a menu and some drinks. Young server was extremely apologetic, stating that it was the second Sunday under new ownership, so they were a little overwhelmed. Understandable. Got our drinks after another 10 minutes and placed our order for 2 starters and three mains. Once we had finished our drinks after another 30 minutes we placed another drinks order, which we received at roughly the same time as our starters. Both starters were excellent, but by this time it was getting on for around an hour after the booking time, and we'd only received one course. Server said our mains would be out shortly, which they weren't. Another 30 minute wait, but again when the food came it was absolutely delicious. So once eaten it was gone around 3:30pm. Ordered one dessert for Dad, a shorter 20 minute wait for that (again, fantastic quality), but by the time we had finished it was gone 4pm. I rarely give negative reviews, and will happily state that the food was very very good, and the young lady was doing her very best to keep everyone happy. The other servers, who appeared to be the new owners, will need to correct the timing issues and follow in the young lady's example, as they seemed a little overwhelmed. But the food was absolutely wonderful, so worth a visit, just maybe give them some time to get organised as new owners.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Faultless

Wow! We have just been treated to one of the finest Sunday dinners in a long time. We decided to share our 1st wedding anniversary at the Red Hart and it will take some beating. From the minute we walked in the atmosphere was so lovely. The staff had a little message board on our table wishing us a happy anniversary! ❤️ As this was the 1st Sunday under new ownership, we were hopeful the food would be exemplary, we weren't wrong. Grandma had the turkey, hubby had all the meats, I had the nut roast and lil man had sausage and mash! We ordered cauli cheese, marmite potatoes and pigs in blankets as sides. Honestly, it was incredible, epic nut roast, lil one said the mash was the best he had and hubby couldn't finish!!! The veg was perfectly cooked and I had veggie gravy too. Really impressed and can't wait to return. Will and staff were so lovely, Wills dad was our favourite tho, what a lovely man xx

First time here for us and the hound's, good selection of drinks , 3 real Ale's on the pumps, very good menu, not big but very good, my wife had the fish pie and I had the Norfolk bangers and mash both dishes were delicious 😋. Extremely welcoming bar staff who could not do enough for you. This is a hidden gem, thank you 👏👏

Lovely pub, great food. Ordered sausages & mash which was delish & everyone else enjoyed their meals too. Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere although the area we were in was empty (probably as we brought a dog so put in the dog friendly part of the pub). Only downside was the high prices but understandable due to increasing costs for pubs & restaurants. Staff were very kind and patient too.

Was looking for a pub with a beer garden. Nothing on Google maps but found this place. Very nice beer. Helpful and friendly staff and had a very nice home made burger to go with a couple of pints. A very nice few hours spent..... thank you Red Hart Bodham

We had a lovely lunchtime meal here today. It's a super dog friendly place. The menu was was a great mixture of pub classics such as fish and chips and some great sounding specials. All reasonably priced.

First ..but definitely not last lunch here today ….I had the best fish pie I ever had….followed by apple & pear crumble with custard…..superb….as were the meals of my husband and our friends.

We've been camping at Kelling Heath Holiday Park, 45min to the pub. We ate there on the Friday eve, lovely proper pub grub, good selection of beers, super friendly service and all very reasonably priced (hard to find in North Norfolk) Our plans changed on Easter Sunday, and we decided to head back, obviously they were fully booked, but they still managed to fit us in, excellent roast dinner, total winner...

Great local pub, we were made to made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. Very traditional style pub with a good selection of beers and ales, 2 sections to the bar and a great looking restaurant (didn't eat as it was a quick visit). Dogs welcome, fireplace near the bar and a snooker table too. Honest to itself local country pub which is missing from a lot of Norfolk nowadays.

Definitely the best Sunday roast we've had. We had roast pork which was soctastycand tender and came with crackling too. The roast potatoes were perfect as was the yorkshire pudding. My husband said the beer was very good too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Just popped in at midday today Sunday to see if they could fit us in for Sunday roast and they found us a table in the bar even though it looked like it was fully booked. Thanks so much and food and service was excellent 👌

Wow. Just had an excellent plated roast dinner with a side of cauliflower cheese. Food was quick, hot, generous, great size portion, but the taste was sublime, and very reasonable price. It knocks the socks off the near by carvery on the coast road. PS, please update your website, I think Christmas is now over.

Nice Place For A Drink After Work. Bar A Little Small

The food here was excellent and, despite being very busy, everything arrived in good time and was nice and hot. The roast beef was cooked just right, very tasty and a good amount, the pork looked really good as well. The roast potatoes were lovely and crispy, unfortunately a rarity in many places now, and plenty of lovely tasty gravy. The puddings were all lovely as well. There are going to be return visits when in Norfolk I think.

Really helpful and friendly staff and food was great. I am guessing because of the time of the year we went there, stocks were maybe low, as the bread for the sandwiches my wife and son had was just basic, shop bought sliced bread. It would have made all the difference if it was a decent loaf used, especially for the cost. Other than that I can't fault it, but decent bread would have made it five stars for sure, which I know may seem harsh but 🤷‍♂️

Us 4 girls had a fabulous lunch there today. A smiling welcome into a clean and warm venue. The woodburner on the go added to the atmosphere. Helpful and happy staff, serving really good coffee. The menu choice had something tasty for all of us. My risotto was well cooked and tasty. The other 3 girls on my table all enjoyed their choices. The deserts were a real treat. I will return. Thank you.

Came across this pub by chance as it's away from the main road, but glad I found it. Good food, reasonably priced, fantastic staff who appeared just when you wanted them without 'hovering'. It was busy, that’s always good news.

I wanted to eat in a 'proper pub', i.e. not a gastro-bistro affair. The Red Hart fitted the bill and the food was great, as was a local beer which I tried, that was called Nibbler by Moongazer.

Service and food were excellent. We had the daily special Beef Bourguignon with Salt and Vineger Roast Potatoes which was superb. The pub is also dog friendly.

Staying in Bodham, Norfolk this week and have been enjoying some wonderful hospitality and cuisine at the Red Hart pub/restaurant. Always receive a friendly welcome and fantastic food served up by brilliant staff.

We stopped here by chance after visiting our nearby wedding venue. The food was delicious, so much so we stopped there again when we were in the area. The portion sizes are big so go hungry! The staff are lovely too, definitely worth a check in!

Small menu, which shows more attention to cooking from fresh in my opinion. Food good, we had the fish and chips, lovely white fresh haddock, homemade tartar sauce, devine. Friendly staff, interior quite airy and more modern than we anticipated. Would recommend.

On hols and booked in for a Sunday lunch. Roast beef dinner was lovely, I had the veg lasagne best I've had. It was really tasty specially with feta cheese in. Deserts were nice too.Staff very helpful and friendly 😋🙂
