Red Dragon in High Peak

For the last 3 to 4 months the food has gone downhill. Todays offering costing over £30 was inedible with most of it going into the bin. Dont know whats changed, chef or owner, but we will not be ordering again.

Just tried to order a mixed combo and they only take cash? But if I order online it’s bank transfer…. Shame because it’s the best Chinese in Glossop.

The food was of a quality that makes you not want to go back. Absolutely disgusting rubbish. It isn't cheap, I personally am not going to order Chinese from this establishment ever again. This is probably the worst chinese food I have ever had. Minging.

Delicious King Prawn Chow Mein and Chicken curry (extra hot). Both were totally delicious. We were staying at a nearby hotel, complimentary prawn cracker and fortune cookies! The front of house person was accommodating, service with a smile and very helpful. Despite listed as closed on TripAdvisor and looking closed from the street, Red Dragon is a superb takeaway! Highly recommended! 😋🇨🇳🥢🥡🥠🍤

ordered from here yesterday , we ordered chicken and sweet corn soup and a few starters as we didn’t want a full meal . It arrived all I can say it was disgusting everything was over cooked rubbery and dripping in grease , we phoned them and three times they put the phone down on us when they did finally decided to speak they more or less said what do you expect you only ordered starters so they won’t be as good to say we were shocked is an understatement just don’t go there to waste your money !!!!

Waited 1hr 40mins for our food to be delivered, we was told they missed our order but gave us no apology and came across quite rude. When the food finally showed up the delivery driver lingered by the door for a few seconds as though he was waiting for a tip. I’d usually tip but when you order online you pay a delivery fee as well as a service charge! Definitely not £30 well spent.

Have ordered several times and occasionally get the wrong order but if it slightly wrong do not like to complain Tonight the order was so wrong. Called and if you know them they recognise the telephone order. Tonight 2 dishes were not what we ordered, tried to explain and they would not listen. We have been loyal customers but tonight was met with Arrogance. Be aware that if they get order wrong they do not care..I can say that be careful if you order and wrong or if you try and explain they do not give a shot..A lot more Chinese takeaways in Glossop where Customers matter and will not be talked do a bit of dog poo.Please avoid and let your friends know that if you call they will not give a damn.

We ordered a Chinese to be delivered, the operator was very hard to understand and only excepted cash on delivery. The driver couldn’t find us even though I saw him outside our property, eventually after ringing us twice with directions he found us( wish he hadn’t) !!! The food was warm and possibly the worst Chinese I have experienced in many years, not edible and couldn’t recommend to anyone. Avoid red dragon Chinese in glossop very poor over cooked and Luke warm if delivered eventually, couldn’t be bothered to complain because of the lack of English from the person on the end of the phone

The food itself was lovely. But we ordered online requesting a delivery for 6pm and it arrived 50 minutes early with a driver with an appalling attitude when we explained we were not expecting it for some time! He claimed he called us and it was engaged (he didn’t) and was incredibly rude to the owner of the site we were staying at who had to let him in (almost a hour earlier than booked for we weren’t looking out for him!). Apparently he did call to apologise later on but for us the disparity between requested time for delivery and actual deliver time was enough to put us off bothering again. Shame as the food was lovely.

We have been using Red Dragon from when they occupied the old Kingsmoor School building in Hadfield so have many years experience of their food, service and deliveries. We have yet to have anything questionable; almost everything they have prepared has been great. We are probably using them 30+ times a year at present due to lockdown; prior to that probably about monthly. Food is left on the doorstep to reduce risks to either customer or delivery driver. They have always made surer we are aware, knocks on the door, etc. I would not condemn them because of one delivery driver. Give them a try; I'll be surprised if you are genuinely disappointed.

Just moved to area. Read other reviews about this takeaway and thought we would give it a go. Food very average at best, prices reasonable if food was better than it was.

Food took over an hour and a half to arrive, was cold and left on the doorstep. Delivery driver had already driven away by the time we got to the door. Terrible service.

Really good food, in both quality and quantity. Highly recommended. But make sure you listen for the knock on the door - we did not hear it and only discovered our meal when I decided to take a look outside. Fortunately it was still ok!

Best Chinese I've had in Glossop. Food was delivered within an hour despite being the only Chinese delivering currently and the food was lovely. Best Singapore Vermicelli I've had for a long time.

2 1/2 hours in and we’re still waiting for delivery .. Understandably, they’re going to be busy, but tell us the truth about how long delivery is likely to take rather than taking your money and lying about it!!! We have kids - people with kids know that they can’t wait when they’re hungry. (Have fed them separately)... 😡

I have been ordering food from this establishment for 4 years now and I have never been disappointed. Great delivery service punctual and the food is always hot.

It didn't help that nothing that we ordered was labled - a basic takeaway courtesy. We ordered three different types of fried rice and, frankly, it was difficult to tell which was which; and none were any good. The duck sichuan was sickly sweet and almost inedible (I threw away about two thirds of it away) and absolutely nothing like sichuan - sticking a few slices of red chilli in a dish is not sichuan. The starters were okay - though I am guessing that these were not made on site. Even the courtesy prawn crackers were not pleasant. Added to all that, you cannot pay by card except online. I will not be returning.

Ordered from here loads of times, loads of things that are really good and delivery's always quick BUT chips are horrible! Never fresh and last night quite a lot were even black in the middle. I know you're not a chip shop so chips perhaps shouldn't be your specialty but in the state they are currently in, they should be taken off the menu. The ones we were given last night weren't fit to be eaten. Still 4 stars though 'cos everything else is nice.

Just ordered from here and when I received my food all was well until, I bite into a spring roll to discover that it is actually duck. As a vegetarian this was not good. Mistakes like this should not be overlooked as if this were allergy related, then the story would be rather different. Next time you order from here I would strongly advise you to check you food before you eat it or, just order from somewhere else to avoid the hassle.

Our go-to Chinese restaurant for vegan options. Always tasty, fresh and fast.. Love the mock meats and vegetable dishes : )

Not sure why all the bad reviews as ours was delicious. Ordered online and arrived within 30 minutes. All the food was cooked perfectly not too greasy which can be the case with Chinese. The hot and sour soup was particularly delicious. Just the right amount of spice. Don’t usually leave a review for a takeaway but we both enjoyed it a lot!! Will be ordering again!!

ive had this takeaway 2 to 3 times and has never been anything buy below average,spent £37 yesterday (for the last time) and it was just horrible. Ordered food and paid through the website on Saturday and got a call saying sorry we don't deliver to Mottram despite website clearly stating our address was in delivery area and seeing food delivered to our neighbours from them in the past we were told they would check with the manager and get back to us 40mins later still no phone call so we phoned them to be told the food wouldn't be delivered, we asked for our money back and they said said it'd be Monday before we'd get a refund! Absolutely appouling service always used to get food from Red Dragon but will definitely not be going there again very disappointing

We love this place the steak rolls are the best you can get and the menu is awesome. I can absolutely recommend this takeaway

Firstly this takeaway is on Victoria Street in Glossop. As far as I'm aware there is no Red Dragon restaurant currently serving food from a school on Railway street in Hadfield. So this review is for the Red Dragon in Glossop.

Arrived 20mins after ordering their £20 banquet .. which included 3 mile delivery journey. ??? Sorry Red dragon but we binned it .. tasted awful ..

The salt and pepper squid was dry and rubbery in texture. The rest of the meal was good and the food was delivered within 30 minutes. I will order again in the future.

Que pedimos desde la red Dragon en los últimos años y muy rara vez ha decepcionado. El personal es amable y la comida siempre llega en menos de 30 minutos. El arroz frito especial y verduras arroz frito son excelentes, y el pato es muy sabrosa.

I have been using this restaurant for some time now and always enjoy their food. Friendly staff that try and help as best they can.

Late delivery poor food. Ordered food and was promised delivery within an hour. Food turned up late and was less than average. Never again

Food is consistently mediocre . Could be a fab Chinese if they pit some effort into the food . Last time i ordered the food was no good, re cooked chips, crunchy rice, soggy battered chicken balls

Yo nunca he dicho que China era mi primera opción de comida rápida, pero Red Dragon baña es difícil de superar. Sin duda no he probado algo mejor en Glossop y ya que al Red Dragon no ha habido ningún motivo para probar otros.

I wouldn't give my dog this .....(food) tried to get a refund but was told I was racist! what (meat ) there was, was unrecognizable. Really don't waste your money.

Verdaderamente increíble comida muy sabrosa y tenía un precio razonable. Este restaurante chino es muy concurrida y repletos de pedidos cuando me recogieron mi pedido me visto 10 maletas en el mostrador listo para ser entregado, así como el teléfono que sonaba constantemente con pedidos en línea de. No se trata en ningún otro lugar que no te decepcionará.

Cuando me siento en el ánimo de una comida china para llevar, siempre uso Red Dragon. Normalmente se entregan evenso, y la comida es siempre caliente. Comida muy sabrosa y muy generosas porciones.

fantastic takeaway with no msg, brilliant to wake up like no been drinking salt all night, we ordered a delivery and the food was beautiful fresh and hot definitely use again when we stay in glossop.

We always order by Just Eat because they accept card payment where as Red Dragon themselves only accept cash on delivery. I have only ordered takeaway but I have never had a bad meal. You always get the usual free extras and I have found the delivery drivers to be prompt and polite.

This takeaway displays just about the worst attributes of any I've ever used.The orders take forever to arrive and they are invariably wrong when they do get here. That's despite the fact that we order through Just Eat so even the Red Dragon shouldn't be able to get that wrong. When you open up the plastic trays they are only around half full. We've noticed that they must be economising as in the last order even the rice was only half full, The (broken) ribs are just rubbish, lumps so small that you can't pick them up and all bone with no meat. It's disgraceful that they would even send this out.To top it all, in the last curry delivery, we found hairs in the curry.Never ever again, the worst Chinese take away we've ever come across.

With 2 friends we had a takeaway and each of us were surprised by the quality of the food. The service was friendly and fast. The food was fresh and didn't have a takeaway taste. Overall, it was excellent.

Fancied a Chinese last night, went to what we thought was ‘Fusion Wok’ only to findit is now called Red Dragon with new owners. It didn’t look as smart as before, but if the food is good I don’t care, BUT, in my opinion it was poor! I had the Beef Curry and my wife had the Sweet & Sour plus a combination starter, this had a funny taste to it which I can only think was the oil in which it was cooked… stingy on the portions, luke warm and not very nice, total waste of money for me. We have meals fairly regularly from Mega House in Disley with home delivery and have never had poor meal from there, ever, in over eight years of using them.

Had a meal delivered last night, was happy but slightly Dubious at the delivery time of 20 minutes.The meal arrived promptly as promised but we were disappointed, the food was only luke warm and didn't seem fresh....just warmed through. The ribs were ok but the watery sauce tasted just the same as the main - duck in 'plum sauce'. Also the duck was grey, chewy and overdone.It felt like the food had been lying around for a while then just thrown together. This definitely isn't the 'best Chinese in town' or 'Restaurant quality' as promised on the menu.Also the chips were FROZEN (under cooked, pale and insipid) - they couldn't even be bothered to make from fresh!I don't think we'll bother again as there are much better take aways to use in Glossop.
