Visiting the area, my family discovered Kwei Lin by chance when passing and we got a takeaway for dinner. It was undoubtedly the best chinese chicken curry I have ever had. Absolutely delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their food too. Plus the staff were very friendly and helpful. I wish they could deliver to Glasgow haha!

What utter tripe, Kung po chicken with chewy hard chicken, small prawn curry well I say curry god knows how they make it but IV never tasted curry that make you gip, and too the prawns were like rubber, to the people that give this place good reviews, you have no idea

I thought Chinese food is not possible to be tasteless. I ordered chicken fried rice and I got exactly that. Brown coloured rice and fried chicken. Nothing else. It was tasteless lack of salt oily 🤮. The restaurant was empty and the waitress still got no time to remove the plates once we've finished. We ended up paying at the desk. Horrible. If you want to experience any taste, even salt, don't eat here.

Quaint situation down a side street. Food was the BEST 👌 I've ever had at a Chinese takeaway 😋. Veggies were crisp and lots of chicken. Fantastic taste and not over salted. 5* all round.

This takeaway was very poor indeed. Quality very poor. Chicken tasted like it was re-heated. Green peppers were mushy didn’t taste fresh. Crispy chilli beef was cold in the middle which seemed odd and possibly re-heated too. Chow mien was the very thin noodles which I have never seen before. Prawns in batter very greasy. It all seemed like stodge which had been warmed up rather than freshly cooked. The portions were really large though and the sweet and sour sauce was very tasty. I really love chinese food but in my opinion this was the worst I have ever had.

Sorry to say probably the worst iv had . Food was tasteless. Im not one to usually leave negative reviews id rather not leave one at all but only went here judging by previous reviews. Had starters and mains both of which were flavourless, starters were bland , beef chow mein was so tough didn't even bother after the first few fork fulls , salt and pepper chips were frozen chips with tossed insome kind of sauce . No one came to ask if we were enjoying our meal so i could bring any of this to thier attention at the end of the meal i had to ask the young girl to speak to the owner for me on which the reply was " nothing she can do " on paying the bill i brought it up again and was told ill take £10 off the bill . Unhappy customers ☹️

Tucked away down a side street, and unassuming from the outside. The restaurant inside has a ‘lived-in’ charm, and the service was warm and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, with very generous portions. One of the best Chinese meals I’ve had in years.

Very poor experience. Went as a group of 6. Took nearly 1.5 hours till our mains arrived. More than 40 minutes between starters and mains, clearly seemed like staff had forgotten about us. Then the lady came out with soapy dishes that still had food leftovers on them wiping them clean/dry in front of us not understanding why we had an issue with this (which was very unhygienic). Food was okay but not amazing and some of us had an upset tummy later that evening and the next morning. When we did share our feedback with the lady at the end who seemed to be in charge on the day, she was dismissive and rude. She was not understanding why we had an issue with waiting for nearly 1.5 hours for our mains, telling us everyone waited (which wasn't true as a number of patrons sat down after us but had their food way before us).

I had a fantastic experience here with my family (husband and 2 kids). It's a lovely little family restaurant, really good portions, not greasy and authentic. It was lovely to see another little child on site as well as she played with my children (I could enjoy the food in peace!). Read the comments before and unsure how the previous customer would know whether they used old or new rice... but the boiled rice I had was soft and steamy and the fried rice was freshly cooked (I could still taste that wok-taste, #IYKYK). Highly recommend this little gem in Buxton. Dont be fooled by its exterior!

So where do I begin. I came here on a whim as premier inn menu reminded me of why I left Essex, oily and tatty. My subdued pregnant wife craved a cheeky Chinese. We got there I knocked on the door that looked similar to my nans house, then went balls to the wall and barged in, the vibe was very minimal. The lady that serviced us seemed to be the owner, and mate she was so cute and lovely I wanted to eat her. The food was standard cheeky Chinese hehe. I got sticky hands from earlier in the day then decided to wash my shovelers. As I was getting a penny sized bit of dry rib out my nashers, the tap was drowning my mini me with water so I left the bathroom with sticky hands and a massive wet patch down below, for the record it wasn't cause of the little edible lady that serviced us. Would come here again. Farewell

As previously stated this is like having a meal in somebodys front room so tired would be the best description. My wife and I went for a pre theatre meal as part of her birthday and were shown to a corner table next to as it turned out a birthday party for five people. This is where this review becomes difficult. The food arrived for the 5 person table and they appeared to be enjoying it.Our meal consisted of chicken and sweetcorn soup, chicken fried rice ,a king prawn curry and coffee. The chicken fried rice was luke warm and dry,the king prawn curry was smothered in a dark brown somewhat spicey uninviting mess.To us both meals were almost uneatable especially my curry, yet when the table was cleared and the majority went back to the kitchen no comment was made.I know I should have said something but as other diners were apparently ok with their food I must accept it was not to our taste.I paid the bill of £45 which for a meal you dont enjoy was very expensive.Would we go again, you must be kidding.

Dingy restaurant, toilets need a good clean - like going back in time, nice staff but they badly need properly managing. Food basic and came with no warmers or warm finger bowl having ordered spare ribs (received cold water).Constantly chasing things, forgot our drinks, just like the table next to us half an hour later. Only a quarter of the tables were occupied and 3 had issues to our knowledge. It seems like a takeaway with a restaurant attached - in this day and age you treat your customers this poorly at your peril, we will certainly not return although we often visit Buxton which has so much competition 100 times better than this

Resturant was empty except for 1 person when we arrived. Retrospectively I wish we had not have gone in but thought we’d try it. Ordered 1/4 crispy duck with extra pancakes. Although the duck was a large portion, it was lukewarm and chewy with little flavour. The hoisin sauce was lumpy and a very strange consistency - I think it had been frozen and defrosted ! The spring onion and cucumber were both dry and curled up - think they had been cut the day before ! Also not enough for the extra pancakes that we ordered. We then ordered beef with black bean which - this ok but really too salty - and chicken with honey and red date. This really had no flavour except for sweet. Egg fried rice and noodles with bean sprouts all OK All food was was barely hot and we left much of it. Not something we ever do ! The cost of the Chinese beer was excessive and all in all not a good experience.

Nice family atmosphere, it looked a bit like peering into somebody's lounge from the outside. The lady who ran the place was juggling taking orders with taking care of her beautiful baby granddaughter. They were busy with takeaway orders so the food took a little while to arrive, but given that lovely family feel I was happy for them that they were doing a good trade. Mostly Cantonese / Hong Kong style classics on the menu, and a whole page of vegetarian options, including some slightly unusual sauces I hadn't seen before (e.g. red date and honey). Food was good, not flashy or anything, but a sort of homely feel to it. Prices seemed very reasonable.

Not many chinese eat-in restaurants near the peak district, so this was a great find. Food was good and the waitress allowed us to try the sauce from one of the mains, before committing to having it. It could have been a little warmer in the restaurant, but it didn't hinder a lovely meal.

Waited nearly 2 hours for food to show up and they had forgotten chicken balls and replaced with chips , driver arrived then turned around and left ? When he arrived back again he said he had to leave as he needed the toilet ? … Had to call the restaurant to get him to come back. Half of order cold , sweet and sour sauce is watery . Wouldn’t bother ordering from here again.
