Lovely home made food. We had fresh lentil and vegetable soup, home made coconut and cherry cake. Very nice. Excellent service.

Food is not bad at all. The staff kids and the cook lady, work very hard. They are very sweet. It's a lovely place to have a relaxing time. My dad and I recently visited, it was great. The pic is of my dad enjoying his meal.

Angry French server with a serious temper problem!! My partner and I merely asked basic questions about today's fillings, but we were met with snappy answers from the French server who seemed to have a chip in his shoulder the entire time we were there. An unexplainable inability to display a general customer service demeanor. This man is a detriment to the church in every way possible.

The cafe is in a wonderfully quiet location in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, next to an old cemetery and church (St. John's) and the location is really worth its weight in gold if you want to treat yourself to a break. We had scones, brownies and tea - nothing special - tea bags, the scone could have been fresher and was served with a spoonful of jam and butter. The whole thing for around 16 pounds is fine. Water is free and self-service. The service is friendly, nothing to complain about. I found it a bit disturbing that my request to close the door because it was cold was politely refused. Only when another guest complained was the door closed. All in all, totally OK, not a highlight, but you can't go wrong either.

This is a superb cafe with a good choice of food and good people. Coffee is excelleny too. 2 minutes walk from Princes Street. Outside seating as well. Seagulls are always hungry and swoop down on anything which resembles food. One even tried to fly off with a pair of sunglasses - be careful.

A beautiful cafe in a rather unique setting in a crypt! Terraced seating in a graveyard is quite something. But seemed to be rather short staffed, 3 or 4 people serving an entire cafe and outdoor terrace leaves a lot to be desired of the service! Our lunch plates and coffees were clearly prepared in a rush. It's a lovely place, but could do with more hands on deck.

Positive vibes all around! Very busy cafe with great food and coffees. Very welcoming smiles and plenty of vegan and veggie options for our group! Each and every item looked prepared with care. The freshly made salads were great and you can taste the difference. Coffees were spot on. It seems lunchtime is very busy so if you want anywhere to sit down, you better come early. Overall a must visit and they deserve to be one of the best places for food in Edinburgh.

£11.50 for a stuffed potato?!?! they must be mental if they think they can charge 9x as much as you can get at a takeaway spot. the kicker is that the potato wasn't even good — the salad on the side was limp with peppers diced so small my fork couldn't pick it up, the coleslaw on the side was way too creamy, and the potato itself? incredibly underseasoned, and the garlic and mushroom filling was similarly bland.

The person on the till didn’t really know what they had outside on the menu board. It said baked potatoes, but they’ve never heard of them and offered potato skins, with no vegetarian options. The Greek salad consisted of one red pepper and the smallest piece of feta cheese It’s a very strange interpretation of a Greek salad served in a very small bowl for £4.50.. I would say not worth a visit, go somewhere else.

Stopped in here for some breakfast when we were walking around the west end. I ordered a bacon roll and caramel shortcake. I was surprised how big the bacon roll was. Much bigger than your average from a burger van! The caramel shortcake was very tasty too. We sat outside which had nice scenery of the grounds near the church.

walking through this wonderful city, I stopped to take pictures of a fantastic church, and walking around it I saw people walking behind its walls, curious I approached and as soon as I turned the corner, I discovered an amazing place with tables outdoors placed near ancient tombstones and Gothic-style tombs from the early 1800s, until I discover that in the basement of this church there is a fantastic bar with vaulted ceilings and some other tombstones protruding from the walls; the place is very cheerful and well frequented by adults and calm people, the bar counters show a supply of food of different kinds where I chose the "cheese scones', a pastry product that I have known and consumed many times in London but never in this version with cheese; the place is very clean and well organized, the place where it was made amazed me like no other until now; The only thing that really displeased me enormously was tasting the coffee made without any knowledge and cognition, it was burnt and therefore unfortunately bad, but in any case among all the others tried around the city it was the best; calling specialized technicians to be able to have a good quality coffee it would greatly raise the level of this spectacular place that I can't wait to visit again!!! walking around this wonderful city, I stopped to take photos of a fantastic church, and walking around it I saw people walking behind its walls, intrigued I approached it and as soon as I turned the corner, I discovered an amazing place with tables outdoors placed near ancient tombstones and tombs in Gothic style from the beginning of the 19th century, until you discover that in the basement of this church there is a fantastic room with logically vaulted ceilings and some other tombstones that protrude from the walls; the place is very cheerful and well frequented by calm, adult people. Nice setting sitting outside, pity about the poor service, we waited over 20 minutes for two cups of tea even after enquiring twice on progress. Informed by staff member they were busy, noted only some tables occupied and already served !! Staff seemed unconcerned and so laid back eventually gave up, asked for a refund and left parched, found adjacent cafe with excellent service. How hard is it to put a tea bag in a pot with hot water, staff training required, avoid unless you have lots of time to waste.

Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.
