Small but mighty! Delicious food and great service.

3 of us just had a lovely meal here, the portions were big, super tasty and everything felt very fresh. The staff were also very nice, I highly recommend eating here.

While we understand that your restaurant was busy, that doesn’t excuse the rude and inattentive service we experienced.It was rude because we were ultimately forced to leave—not by choice, but because your staff was unwilling to be even slightly flexible. And it was inattentive because, despite being a small restaurant, we had to wait 20 minutes just to get someone's attention to place our order.If your policy is so crucial, it should’ve been communicated before we were asked to wait or when we were seated and handed menus. Had that happened, we would have gladly gone elsewhere—saving both your time and ours. Instead, we spent 25 minutes waiting for a table, and another 20 trying to get service, only to be met with rigidity and poor treatment.We even attempted to meet you halfway by adding another main dish and explaining that we were hungry and simply trying to make the best of the situation. Still, your staff made it clear they weren’t interested in understanding or accommodating. A lesson in hospitality wouldn’t go amiss for your team. And frankly, based on the tone of your response, it seems your customer service issues start from the top. Thankfully, we didn’t get as far as tasting the food—because judging by everything else, that would’ve likely been another letdown.( In response to my friend’s review)

Extremely disappointing experience. We were a group of 6 and had to wait 25 minutes just to get a table—even though it was late at night. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes to get someone’s attention just to place our order. Staff were completely inattentive and disinterested.We were ordering 3 mains, but were rudely told we had to order more mains due to some bizarre policy. Despite explaining that it would be a waste of food and money, they insisted. We ended up leaving hungry after waiting nearly an hour in total.The staff were unprofessional, lacked basic courtesy, and clearly have no understanding of what hospitality means. Having worked in the industry ourselves, this was truly appalling to witness. If I could give a rating in the negative, I would. Avoid this place.

The best Indian dinner we had in UK. We were looking for a place to eat or grab take away on an Easter Bank holiday and saw this place accidentally. My boyfriend only tried Indian food before and was amazed by this place. Thank you!

We always get very excited about a visit to Red Chilli whenever we come to Penzance! Our expectation is high and they never fall short. The food is skillfully packed with layers of flavour and complex spice combinations which results in the most delicious and moorish choices possible - we over-order every time! This hard working, friendly team in this small and humble place is producing the best Indian Bangladeshi food available. Congratulations to Red Chilli! After a walk through Penzance town yesterday we noticed the Red Chilli restaurant and took one of the menu leaflets. This evening we ordered a takeaway through the website which was easy to use. Wait time was estimated at around 1 hour but we had our food promptly delivered within 40 mins. Food quality = EXCELLENT! We had a mixture of dishes and all were superb! 10/10! Thank you

Spent £43 on a takeaway. See the photos - bhuna was ridiculously watery and the meat in the tikka was so hard we needed a steak knife to cut it, so it wasn’t eaten. I messaged them to give a chance to resolve but they were not interested. Shame really, will not use again

The food was just AMAZING! We ordered Chicken Tikka, Chilli Garlic Paneer (it’s different and delicious), Mango Lassi, Veg Mix Tawa and Chicken Achari. Ask for extra spicy and you will definitely love it.

My friend and I were very glad that we ignored the bad review of Mr Shankar. We had a take out tonight that we thoroughly enjoyed. The portions were generous and the food fresh and delicious. No complaints whatsoever.

Delicious food cooked fresh. We came in because it smelled good when we walked past. We were not disappointed. Coriander and garlic naan was delicious.

We four pirates came for a curry this evening and well it was absolutely amazing. It was actually the best curry I’ve ever had and would recommend to anyone. The service also was amazing so if anyone is this was and likes a good old curry get down to red chilli because you will NOT be disappointed 😊

Order at your own risk! It is listed as an Indian restaurant, while it is not.!! We ordered a garlic chilli paneer take away (listed as starter) and what we got was a white gravy with some paneer cubes and tomatoes in it. Without any salt / spice / chilli. If you're listed as an Indian restaurant, the least you can do is Google / YouTube the recipe and try to replicate it! This is the only dish we tried, so I'm not sure how Indian the other dishes are! Post Reply comment - We tried a take away dish to decide if we can get back to your restaurant for Dinner! And I'm glad we did not spend a penny more than what we did. My indian friends recommended this place and they were right! Maybe the best Indian restaurant in Penzance . Food and service are top class. Portions are good size and be wary of vindaloo!

We ordered a garlic chilli paneer(mentioned as a starter) for take away, what we got was a white gravy with some paneer and tomatoes with minimum salt, spice or taste! I have tried only one dish and one item so I'm not sure of the other dishes.

Thought I'd try a take away , went for the mixed biriyani , the lamb was so chewy I couldn't eat it and the 1 king prawn was chewy and white , the veg curry was so runny it was tasteless , which I hadn't bothered now and saved my £12.95 !My curry was swimming in grease also , worst curry I've ever had !!

Our regular Indian takeaway wasn’t open, so we tried Red Chilli. This is definitely going to be our new regular. It was the best Dansak I’ve had and the onion bhaji were amazing too, and massive. All four of us said that we preferred our meals to what we normally have from our old regular. Thanks Red Chilli, we will be back for sure 👍

Really good menu, it's the best Chicken Sag Tawa I've tried! Really recommend this restaurant!

Excellent food. The best sag paneer we've ever had. The main curries were slightly less spicy than I've had elsewhere. Friendly staff. No alcohol served but you can bring a bottle in.

We had chicken chum chum, tikka masala and naga masala plus starters and sides. It all tasted very good and the portion sizes were large. The only slight downside was the sauces were a little thin but don’t let that put you off. I was greeted by a delivery driver, paid a girl who I assume was the normal waiting staff but then she disappeared into the kitchen leaving me stood with the delivery guy. He left and another delivery driver appeared, it was her that handed me the food after a time so I had no real contact with staff and was left isolated in the dining area. But I was looking for a meal not a conversation so I will likely return.

A Few years ago this place did not have a great reputation but today it’s got to be one of my favourite Indians in Penzance and it’s on my doorstep (which could be a problem 😆) all dishes are so tasty, service is fab, waitresses helpful with menu choice and prices are as good as they get….Well done Red Chilli keep doing what you do 👌💯

Visited the restaurant this evening.. I wasn’t hungry much but my husband was keen to have some Indian curries.. but we left just after 5 minutes as the restaurant has the most stupidest policy of having a main dish per customer.. I didn’t understand how they can decide about the food portion that their customer must order.. so, instead of making money from this stupid policy they are losing customer as we weren’t the only one who left cz of this we saw few more left after ordering food then being insisted of ordering main dish per person.. 🤯

Went there with my family. Very bad experience.The lady of the front desk was rude. I ordered one main dish, they gave me wrong dish unfortunately. Don’t fall in their trap.

I would have rated this restaurant 0 out of 5 if I had the option. They have a useless policy that you need to order a main meal per person. When we said that that would be too much food for us, they said that we could try by combining a starter with it. So we ordered a starter and main meal. To our astonishment, instead of the starter they ended up modifying it and making it a main meal and then charged us for that. There was no way to realize it until you got the bill. Highly disappointing how dodgy they can be. Literally cheated us intentionally. If they would have been clear about it we could have just walked away. Even the food quality and sitting arrangement is not that great. Such a waste of time and money. Very disappointed PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

Since opening, Red Chilli has been our go-to restaurant. We love Bengali & Indian food and despite only being a small restaurant and takeaway, Red Chilli is amazing. The food is always cooked perfectly - the meat is always tender; the sauces are full of flavour; the poppadoms are always fresh and crispy; the veg curries are tasty and just as good as the meat dishes and our friends and family have all said it's their favourite restaurant too. Red Chilli is the best value for money in the whole of the area - you get both good quality food at the best price. They also offer deliveries and they always arrive on time. There are always people sat in the restaurant and even just walking by, the food smells amazing too! We have sat in for food and the service was really quick which was ideal as some of our party turned up unexpected but they were still able to order their food and finish after we had started ours. The waiting staff were all very friendly, helpful and also quick to get orders through. We have always had wonderful experiences with Red Chilli and always look forward to our takeaways now. We were gutted when Panch Puran closed last year but people who own Red Chilli have gone above and beyond to make their restaurant the best in the area in such a short space of time. They've made the best use of the space they have and it's always cosy and welcoming.

Excellent food. Tried these guys at weekend and really nice authentic Indian food. Tried others locally but they were basic flavours. These were complex, Really nice.

Booked a table but when we got there (10 minutes early) we were told it was double booked. Said they tried to call but they didn’t. The restaurant is like a front room. About 4 tables. Very cramped. Looks like they just gave our table away, the girl on front desk was very embarrassed. We didn’t bother to argue but that is no way to treat visitors. I know that my local Indian restaurants would not treat people like that. Their food may be good, never got to try it, but one thing for sure their attitude is terrible!
