Il locale è adorabile: grande vetrate affacciate su Notting Hill, molto arioso, legno e libri ovunque, farina e "mani in pasta", cucina in parte a vista.

I have been to Jamie's Italian in Stockholm and enjoyed it, so I thought this might be a good choice on my first day in London. However, I don't even know where to start to describe what a terrible experience we had at this restaurant. The staff was disinterested at best. They scurried around looking busy, but accomplishing nothing. We waited eons for anything, from being seated, to getting water and food, and finally, paying the bill. I finally had to get up and make a second request for water. The drinks were just too outrageously priced. Our food was a long time coming and when it did, the order was wrong. More waiting, and in the end it wasn't worth the wait or the price. Small amounts and only so-so. No one seemed interested in bringing our bill until we got up to leave without it and I bitterly regret not refusing to pay the service charge. Felt completely invisible in this place and will never return.

Firstly the downstairs cafe food is just a cheap impersonation of Ottolenghi round the corner. The menu for upstairs cafe was at the bottom of the stairs and had one item which made me chose to dine there. Upstairs had a totally different menu without the decision making item. The soup of the day was quoted to me as roasted butternut squash and yet what finally arrived was a spiced corn chowder. When I pointed this out to my waitress all she could say was "oh!" The soup had obvious left over vegetables floating in it. I say obvious as there were two types of carrot, cut differently i presume from different left over dishes. The bread was not fresh and the goat's cheese & beetroot salad came with not a single green leaf in sight. Highly disappointing. Will not return.

This is a big strange concept store with kitchen goods and then also cooking lessons and to top it off, a cafe. I stopped in for a quick dinner and ordered a parma pizza and a drink. Touristic place, great location and layout of the restaurant! However service is poor, you wait forever to be served and you need to waive the waiters to be served. Super expensive for what it is, £71.00 for 2 pizza and 4 small glasses of wine with a super small starter. Definitely paying for the location. Not sure will go back there.

We just accidentally dropped by as we saw this was opened by Jamie Oliver. There are lots of cooking ingredients you can buy on the ground floor. On the second floor, there is a small cafe and open kitchen you can attend a pre-book cooking class. There is a nice view of the main street. We ordered fish and salad and the food was great. Nice cafe you could relax in and there were many locals.

People here were complaining about a fish dish with too many ingredients, it's the sea bass with sweet potato mash and mango chutney. The sea bass was sprinkled with black pepper and the whole dish created an explosion of flavours in my mouth. The fish was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin and juicy meat. My friend had a Pizza bianco with goats cheese and caramalised onions. Again, the contrast of sweet and savory created a unique taste experience. The staff was attentive and very friendly and left nothing to be desired. The Sauvignon blanc was exactly as described in the menu and my friends cider went down very well.Jamie Oliver or not, the food was good and I don't care about hyped or not. Yes, you can buy downstairs a lot of his merchandise and some stuff is on display upstairs but never intrusive or in your face. The only slight criticism I have is the table that we got which was right next to the bar and didn't provide a nice view on the street. But it came here to eat, and the food was great value for money, not cheap but decently priced. The ongoing cooking classes didn't impact on the service or atmosphere in a negative way, so all I can say is give it a try, in my eyes it's worth it.

I remember Jamie Oliver when he first started out, and I really liked his way of cooking and what he represented. I was looking forward to trying one of his restaurants. This restaurant did not at all live up to the hype. There were several cooking groups taking place, which meant that the servers weren't paying attention to us; rather, they simply forgot that we were there. I ordered a fish dish, which was pretty good. However, it had too many ingredients, as if they were trying too hard to make it interesting. And, while the fish tasted ok, it looked a bit tired on the plate - brown on top of a orange/brown pile of sweet potatoes. Jamie Oliver has created a huge empire; I can imagine that it's difficult to maintain high quality across the restaurants.

This is more a concept than a cafe as another reviewer brilliantly stated. The menu has 4-5 plates for lunch, no meat, no chicken, the salad was mediocre and cost 12,5GBP for a normal plate full of beetroots and rucola. We felt really insulted, should have departed immediately when they brought the boiled green stuff and presented it as an assortment of 4 (!!!!) salads. Moreover, tourists are bombarded by Jamie's books and his promotional offers all over the place. The only positive thing was that our waitress was a really happy shiny Greek young woman! Overall, we were really dissappointed, would never return!

We had lunch here in Notting Hill, the appeal was Jamie Oliver name for sure. The location is nice, it’s a mix between a market, a bakery, a coffee, a library (with Jamie’s books only) and finally, at the first floor, a restaurant. There is a place reserved for cooking lessons, interesting. We had lunch early (because its’ often crowded and it’s difficult to find a table), too early…we had to wait 12 o’clock to order two burgers, a beer and a water. No problem, but we had also to wait 30 minutes before having them ready. Burgers were good and tasty, but difficult to eat, with a lot of sauce/water/liquid releasing….Price? about 40 pounds. Ok it’s a famous chef concept, but it’s too much considering food and slow service.

The pizzas were terrible, too thin that the Quattro Formaggi could not hold the cheese in the centre and you could not eat the slice in a normal way as all the cheese was sliding away. Also, on the plate under the pizza we found enough charcoal, the size of a banknote and thick as a coin, which could have been easily removed before giving it to us. We flagged it to the waitress who did not say anything. The ham had a funny taste like when had a passed sell by date and it had too much fat. Rocket was limp. I would not go here for italian food. The combo of cookery school/deli and restaurant provided a nice atmosphere for lunch. My companion and I wanted something light so decided on the selection of salads with sour dough bread. At £12.50 a plate, I was expecting Otto Lenghi type salad with a delicate mixing of flavours and ingredients. I wish we had gone ot Otto's. This salad consisted of raw pumpkin in big chunks, nearly raw beetroot in also big chunks and a orange coloured mixed bean salad which was utterly tasteless. The sour dough instead of being served in a seperate dish/plate came plonked on top in two dry slices with a square of frozen butter on top. Nul points for presentation as well as nul points for inedible food. I couldn't complain as I hadn't chosen the place and didn't pay. But this is the worst food I have eaten in years..I'd rather have my old school food Jamie Oliver..

Not the best service I must say. Waited a bit to be able to order. And then the food took forever to arrive over 40 minutes. The worst was that one of us only got the side order served. We repeatedly asked to get the main order as well. When we others almost finished they come to tell us that the order that we still have not received was not available as the have run. Out of the ingredients! They only asked if she would like to have something else, but man, if they would have bothered to tell that they can't deliver the ordered when we ordered instead of when everyone else was almost finished with their food that would have been something else. On top of that they even tried to charge an extra side order we did not order and for the dish that they did not even serve. Probably should not have paid for the service charge, but I'm to nice. We com to London at least once a year, and this was the worst place I have visited by far through the years. Will never visit another Jamie's restaurant. This visit ruined the whole Name of Jamie's. Food did not taste any special either

Buon appetito!

The food was lovely and the ingredients seemed extremely fresh. I loved the couscous! Unfortunately I found the pizza to have too much raw flour on the bottom, but the meal overall was lovely. I enjoyed watching a cooking class that was going on near our table.

Dan and Ibby were the perfect hosts to a brilliant after school birthday party for my 7 year old and 15 rowdy boys. Homemade lemonade was on tap and the boys had a fabulous time making pasta from scratch and eating their meal. The Victoria Sponge was amazing and beat Mary Berry hands down, complete with a delicious sponge, freshest cream and lightest jam and decorated with chocolate covered whole strawberries. The grown ups knocked back the prosecco and enjoyed freshly baked pizzas from the ovens next to the demonstration kitchens while the kids had a brilliant time. Simply the best party for everybody with lots of laughs.

We arrived here without booking, and we got a lovely window seat. The food was very simple and clean and really tasty. The menu isn't huge but that can be a good thing I had tortilla chips with guacamole and chicken skewers with cous cous. myfriends had burgers and said they were also tasty. We had a nice rioja carafe with our food. Service was good, fast and friendly. Toilets not the cleanest though,no loo roll although it was replaced when I told a staff member.

Attended Vietnamese Street Food Cookery Class. Interesting to see techniques and how healthy recipes are but so lacking in flavour. Our chef, Leila, did her very best to look after everyone but with 28 in a class this was very difficult. Her helper was not around for the full lesson so she was trying to cope on her own. Pork balls were tasty but soup was disappointingly flavourless. Apparently our dipping sauce tasted better than the recipe, only because we put soy sauce in by mistake, thinking it was fish sauce! We met friendly and interesting people who made the trip worthwhile.

Ah, dimenticavo, abbiamo cenato golosamente a pizza dai sapori squisitamente italiani. Il personale è all'altezza. Complimenti

On arrival it was slightly busy and it was chaotic, no room to que at the desk which was approx a meter from the stairs. People walking past the sort of que and being served first. There was also a class taking place and the ovens are also too close to the so called waiting area. Eventually we were seated and presented with the menu only to have to summon a waitress to take our order 15mins lately. We ordered a bottle of wine on the recommendation of the waitress who served it and told us she would get a wine cooler, I still waiting! The starter (nachos) were poor and expensive, main course burger was okay and the rocket pizza had more green than we blew stadium which resulted in it being overpowering. In summary, poor organization and extremely average food. I would ask if Jamie has ever been there.......

A dinâmica deles é incrível.

An obvious point to note is that Recipease is one big Jamie Oliver PR factory; I can’t hear a bad word said about him so was looking forward to visiting, but I imagine how the bombardment of product placements would be overbearing for some.In regard to service a young lady with red hair made us feel very welcome and is good at her job.Despite a million products for sale, ironically the menu is smallest in the whole of London. We opted for the pizzas, no doubt they were as fresh and tasty as you’ll get anywhere, but unfortunately got stone cold half way through due to the draughty open spaces. The ongoing cooking classes going on around the diners adds a real fun factor, although the dreary vistas kill any romance.

I attended this workshop with my daughter. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The recipes were easy to follow and we had plenty to take home. Dan was so friendly, enthusiastic and helpful, that makes all the difference in a workshop situation. We then enjoyed a delicious burger and the 'best-ever' pizza which we'd watched being made on arrival!

I needed somewhere for a late breakfast/early lunch, as well as to plug in my laptop and work for an hour. I went into Recipease and was warmly greeted. I asked about a powerpoint and the Hostess found me a suitable table, she was pleased to help and very friendly. The Works (full breakfast) was truly excellent. How lovely to find something a bit different to the norm. A chorizo sausage (brilliant. tasty), a pork and leek (traditional, real meat), a runny poached egg, freshly cut crusty bread, some spinach, and home baked beans which actually had texture (not the mushy out of a tin type)!. Good quality black coffee.I can still taste it. Perfectly done. One small chat about English mustard...Colmans as that is the only English mustard in my opinion. The waitresses are from a variety of countries with a varying command of English...no problem there. French mustard was brought, I was told there was no English mustard. I said go ask the kitchen please, I bet you have it...sure enough it came. I was amused rather than annoyed as the service was so helpful, friendly and with a 'can't do enough for you' attitude.Great place. Do pop in for breakfast much or a coffee.

Took family for a nice lunch on mothers day. Starters took 30mins at midday. After 30 mins soup was cold. When mains arrived both chicken dishes were undercooked. Didn't discover mine was raw until half way through. I would say give this place a miss unless you are big on food poisoning. On the positive, the manager was so shocked she comped our meal. Jamie Oliver should be ashamed to be serving raw food.

Together with my parents and boyfriend we went here on a Satuday early afternoon to have lunch. We didn't have to wait long to get a table, which was cool and the lady who seated us and or frist waitress were really friendly. We ordered 4 main dishes and were quite excited. But we had to wait for almost one hour. It seemed that our waitress had her break (which is absolutely fine) and forgot to forward our order. When we complained about our long wait to another waitress, she went to get the first waitress, they checked the till computer and our food was on the table after 30 seconds. But it was semi-hot, which led me to the conclusion that the food waited on hot plates in the kitchen for some time and therefore wasn't really freshly made. Which would also be fine, if the second waitress had explained and properly admitted that there had been a mistake and apologised. Instead we barely got an apology, the waitress was not overly friendly, which made us feel a bit unwelcome. The food was very tasty and innovative and we were satisified with that. But later that day my mom and me were a bit unwell, because there seemed to be quite a lot oil in it. After we finished eating the waitress, still not really friendly asked us if we wanted desert or coffee and I don't know, but I did expect a complimentary free coffee at least for our long wait, which we didn't get. The whole experience combined disillusioned me from the Jamie Oliver hype (long gone by now, I admit) and I will never go to any of his restaurants, because my higher expectations cannot be fulfilled. And I rather be surprised by a place I have low expectations of, than pay a higher price for somebody who cannot hold his set standards.

Ordered pork chop rice and my wife ordered crispy pork rice for lunch today. My pork chops came in less than two minutes. It was deep fried and rock hard, three miserable curled up stale reheated meat. I rejected it. The woman was upset but allowed a change. So I went for the Malaysian curry chicken. This was also a disaster. The first bite into the chicken, I had to spit it out... this curry was not Malaysian curry but Indian spiced. A few fragments of chicken parts was boosted in volume with onions and carrots. I began to taste decayed chicken upon tasting a couple more pieces. I had to leave the rest. My wife suffered in silence, her crispy pork was rubbery, the skin was hard not crispy, probably resulting from microwave action. After paying £23.70 we left the unfinished meal. On our way home, we felt traumatised by this horrible experience. They should not be allowed to trade. Never again.
