We had a romantic meal in Rebellion Roast House in Charlestown last night. It was the first time we had been there and we really enjoyed it. The portions could have been bigger. And it's really expensive. But the food was very nice. We really liked it's unique rustic charm. They are a dog friendly restaurant which we loved. We will happily look forward to going back again.

Kitchen closes at 9pm, if they are a Bar restaurant they shpuld have a separate business registered in google maps with the times for each

Fantastic food and drinks. Staff were engaging and friendly and very good at jobs. We had lunch, cocktail's and went back the same day for more cocktails and food in the evening. Nothing was too much for the staff. Some of the best service I have eve received. My mum and I don’t get to see each other very often and they made it a special experience. Thank you.

Poor service. Food is over priced for quality and quantity. Many better places for cheaper in the area.

Really tasty Sunday midday roast dinner, the beef brisket was delicious and great service with pleasant surroundings, my only criticism is that the cauliflower/ broccoli cheese was a bit al dente in my opinion

We had a beautiful meal! The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was the perfect volume… We were served and looked after by Emma who could not have done enough for us! What a little gem 💎

Another lovely meal at Rebellion. We arrived really early as the cinema finished sooner than expected, not a problem for the friendly team who immediately seated us, even thought we’d have been happy to wait if needed. Server recommended the mixed grill, a speciality of the chef apparently and WOW…what a chef. We had lovely starters, hubby said the pate was great and I had the tiger prawns cooked in Cornish moonshine. Mains were mixed grill for me and the Rebellion burger for him…with added pulled pork, just fab. Cupid cocktails and draft beers flowed throughout. Summing it up, fab food (the chef is a keeper), lovely beers and a really friendly serving team made for a great evening.

Food ordinary at best. Do not eat the crispy beef, it has the same texture as cardboard and difficult to chew. Tasty BBQ sauce though. Rump steak cooked well but chips inedible. Tasty vegan option, but only one and it really doesn't sound appetizing. If we hadn't had such a journey getting in the place up the steps and across the car park (our request for disabled parking info on booking had been ignored) we would probably have left. However, nice feel to the place. Maître d'h very pleasant. Some staff were very good (and patient) dealing with a non verbal adult, but other staff couldn't be bothered and really didn't know the menu well at all, one tried to tell me feta was vegan!

After trying our luck at a few venues with a large group, rebellion kindly squeezed us in on a busy night. Whilst I'm sure the chefs were not best pleased (sorry!), the floor staff were amazing and the food was great

We chose a very busy Saturday evening to visit for the first time. We pre-ordered from the festive menu and both the food and service were exceptional.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and no regrets will definitely returning. Service and food was excellent. Loved the decor.

I had an amazing experience here on 20th November. I enjoyed my seafood chowder and the waiter lady has been absolutely amazing and made her first pornstar martini. It was beautiful! My birthday was yesterday as well and my partner treated me for my birthday! I am so happy with the customer service as well as the food and drinks.

Despite only living a few miles away we haven't been back to the Rebellion for a while, and that is our loss as it was wonderful. Our dog had a truly amazing welcome including water and treats! We chose to share the Pil Pil Prawns starter, it was zingy and flavoursome. My lady opted for the Buttermilk Chicken stack and she wasn't disappointed. Large piece of juicy chicken perfectly cooked and bags of flavour and a generous portion. I went with slow cooked brisket and I'm really glad I did. The flavours leapt out of it and again a generous portion. The side order of corn on the cob was delicious but I struggled to finish it with such good portions. Service was friendly and very efficient. It might have been a while since we were last there but we'll be back again soon given the quality and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Had the Sunday roast late evening. Brisket was excellent. Veg was great, full of taste and perfectly cooked. roasties a bit too crunchy for me but the middles were nice. Fabulous gravy. Desert was great, shame they had run out of clotted cream, but it was late in the day. Friendly staff and a fair price. Will go back if ever down this way again.

Whilst on holiday in Charlestown. Fancied a Sunday roast so ended up here. Lovely restaurant, lovely feel to it the water it’s done out. I had roast pork and wow the Yorkshire’s 😄. Husband had beef brisket, both meals were delicious and the vegetables well cooked and not stodgy mush. Definitely worth a visit. This restaurant is closed on a Monday and Tuesday.

Never fails to impress. Had a beautifully cooked brisket of meat, it practically melted in the mouth. Vegetables were perfection as well. The staff were truly amazing, they made the place sparkle with their warmth and attentiveness. It's these little human touches that show they really care about the customer and are paying attention. The food was beyond delicious. Perfectly cooked and served quickly. I cannot thank everyone enough for such a lovely enjoyable evening.

5 of us went for a Sunday Lunch, and Rebellion did not disappoint. The bef was incredibly tender and the sides were delicious- the greens had an incredible flavour that kept me going back for more! The only downside was the stuffing felt to be a bit of a stingey portion size, and there was quite a bit of size difference between the beef servings for our table - some felt a little short changed compared to others! Luckily, I had a larger portion and was happy for it!

This place is incredible. Amazing food and absolutely gorgeous staff who were very welcoming and lovely. Food is soooo good we came back 2 consecutive evenings to eat. Will be back next year for sure!

We had a great meal here whilst staying in Charlestown. The service was excellent as was the menu choices and I would’ve scored it 5* but my starter was disappointing and not as described on the menu. I went for the prawns with “toasted rosemary focaccia”, the prawns were delicious but it definitely didn’t come with rosemary focaccia (see photo below) so I felt a bit short changed. It was 2 small slices of lightly toasted baguette🙁

Ignore Bob from Hereford. Great food, good host and dog friendly! Can’t fault the service or the food, probably the best place in the harbour.

Customer service was very good However, the meal was overpriced. When the food arrived it was small portion sizes, tasteless, dry and not very warm.

Went to the Rebellion yesterday evening for my sisters birthday meal. As it was a Sunday there was a reduced menu, but they still had a wide range of meals to choose from. I had the cheeseburger and it did not disappoint! The bacon was cooked to perfection and complemented the taste of the burger and the cheese really well. Service was also very quick and reliable. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

So very disappointed with our experience tonight. We booked a table for 7pm weeks ago. We're locals, not on holiday and planned a good night out. It became apparent very early on that we were being rushed. I mean really rushed. Barely had chance to read the menu and they were there to take the order! Then, had barely taken two mouthfuls of my food and they were back to ask if everything was OK. Felt very conveyor belt like. Then, we hadn't even finished dessert, and they slapped the Bill on the table!!!! Saying 'no rush but.....' Totally confused, someone then came to the table and basically told us they needed our table!!!!!! This was at 8.30. How can you have a relaxed 3 course meal in 1.5 hours!!!?!???? Answer..... You can't! We were planning on coffees and chatting and all the things you do on a night out, but nope we were moved along!!! It was supposed to be an evening out, but sadly turned into 1.5 hours out. Apparently it said in our email that we had the table for an hour and a half but there was nothing at all on booking on the website. When the email came through I just checked the date and time. Lesson learnt. If it said it, I didn't see it! Should definitely be made clearer, as we wouldn't have bothered. Hugely disappointed. Won't bother again cos it's just a conveyor belt. Food was nice but we wanted a night out, you know, to socialise and talk. This place wants you to scoff your food and leave!!!

Last night of our holiday in Charlestown and it was one of our best meals of the week , very friendly staff , brilliant !

Second time we have eaten here and wow the food is excellent, reasonable prices, the atmosphere is good and the servers are professional. Eating here is must when in newquay, you won't be disappointed

Delicious food and great service. We were stuffed. Thoroughly recommend. You can always walk around the harbour before or after. Such a lovely visit.

I travelled extensively for work and leisure. I have been jailed on three continents. Possibly the worst food that has ever been put in front of me. Improperly cooked wings were soggy and ribs very unpalatable. The whole thing had a factory produced BBQ sauce dumped on top. Coleslaw produced in some industrial unit somewhere. I was hungry but couldn't eat it. If I had to describe it in one word that word would be 'sludge'. One star for the long suffering staff who couldn't raise their game. I don't like to be so negative, but in all honesty......this place sucks.

Maybe it was just a bad night but… The burger (£17) was an off-the-shelf catering burger in a nice bun, the fish pie was filled with old, chewy pieces of seafood and fish —though the sauce tasted nice…. for £20 you’d expect more. Our son enjoyed the Brisket stack. We watched our drinks get poured and then sit on the bar and had to ask for them, when they finally arrived, they were wrong. The waiting staff were nice but seemed frayed for a midweek night. To top it off, we received the bill from the next table. Nice styled venue that looks the part and friendly staff but the food was below average for the price and in hindsight I would have preferred a meal deal from M&S and saved £75.

We found the Rebellion by chance after visiting Charlestown - which it’s self is a lovely little harbour side area with plenty of choice for drinks and snacks Our host was welcoming and friendly, offering advice on orders as my wife was undecided. His recommendation of the Pork Belly was spot on as my wife told me at least half a dozen times on the way home how great it was. I had the rump steak, cooked to perfection. It was tasty and juicy. The side salad that came with it was fresh - so many places just throw a few salad leaves on a plate these days. Chips crispy and the pepper sauce delicious Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area

Amazing service, delicious food, spacious so you don't feel encroached upon, staff were attentive but not ott. The service team make the meal and atmosphere. I love this place staff and food.

One of the best roast meals ever had ! Food hot , gravy so tasty and the slow roasted beef melted in the mouth . Loved it and the staff , all so welcoming and obliging . Dog friendly and dogs given a treat on arrival , Requested a taxi but none available as it was a Sunday late afternoon ! Member of staff offered to drive us back , going over and beyond her duties . Thank you so much to Gemma ,Manager Alan and all the brilliant team .Throughly recommend .

If you are in the area, this is a must to go to! The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is top notch and fresh and the cocktails are delicious! Finally the price is the best, you get a generous portion for excellent value for money. Have been twice in 2 years now and they do not disappoint!

Lovely restaurant we had a disabled person with our party of 8 and staff couldn't have been more helpful,manager even came out to help with the mobility scooter, in to restaurant,food was fantastic ,all in all it was top notch ,definitely recommended ,it was a family reunion and everyone agrees it was a lovely meal.

Another triumphant meal at Rebellion. Had my heart set on the beef today until I saw the special. Leg of lamb(I'm not the greatest lover of lamb) but felt I needed to try the special. Thank God I did. It was fantastic and a big thank you to chef Wes and his team. The meal was cooked to perfection and you could taste the care , effort and love that was put into it. We have tried other roast dinners that have been good but we find ourselves returning here. My favorite place to eat. Also the service is excellent from Fran, Holly( and the other members who we don't know yet) Fantastic job my lovelies.

Great service. Really tasty starters especially the king prawns and crispy beef! I was very disappointed with the seafood chowder. Not much flavour and a thin sauce. Very disappointing portion size too considering it was £20! It should have been a bowl full for that price and should have more bread than a starter comes with. Didn't feel like a main course at all - more like a starter. Others enjoyed the steak salad and the pork belly - both generous portions and better value. Happy and helpful staff. Good online booking service for table reservations. Would visit again but I wouldn't choose chowder.

Great lads night out after riding Woodys Bike park two weeks back. Great service, amazing food and drink, we had a great time here.

Had their Sunday menu and the food was delicious. Half had the pork and other half the beef which everyone enjoyed. A highlight for us is also their cocktails with being dog friendly and bonus

We came here last minute - after a long journey! The staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to eat, 10mins before the kitchen closes! And my goodness, the food was some of the best I've ever had! The quality was amazing, one of the tastiest chicken burgers I've ever had! And the fish was divine! Not to mention the staff were so sweet, professional and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome! We will definitely be coming here again! Thank you guys x

Hi Zoe, as emailed to a family member of yours on Facebook, you in fact booked the wrong day hence why you had an email saying the booking was cancelled as you were a no show. You booked in on Saturday 9th March at 1.15pm for 6 of you ( I have screenshots of the booking) where you thought you had booked in on Sunday 10th for Mothers Day (which you didnt) We of course couldn't get you in on Mothers day as it was a very busy day for us. So for you to put a bad review for YOUR mistake, is absolutely shocking and not deserved I'm more than happy for you to contact me at the restaurant or by email where I can show you proof that you booked in on the wrong day but I wont hold my breath! I had booked a table for mother day which we were all very much looking forward to, to find a email saying we had cancelled which we definitely did not. I presume one of the staff members decided to cancel our table to give it to someone they knew or they just cancelled it because they over booked. Which is completely poor as a phone call would have been more suited than a email. Especially coming from a business which is customer based. I decided to call hoping they could amend it. I was greeted by a clueless girl who then passed me on to the manager who couldn’t care less. Didn’t offer any other solutions. Only got the “we can’t re book you in.” Ive been before and it was bang average, nothing special. Wanted to give it another chance but this is what happened. I will not be booking here again. Very disappointed!

We visited on Friday 12th Jan 2024. We live locally and have eaten in every eatery in Charlestown and this is hands down THE BEST restaurant in Charlestown. Lets start with the service. Our waitress was super helpful, really lovely and her customer service was top notch. The food....what can i say, please dont ever change. It was outstanding. I had the chicken wings followed by the pork stack and hubby had squid followed by sirloin steak. All cooked to absolute perfection, delicious, tasty food. The ide salads with the meals are so lovely, well dressed and everything on the plate was cooked with so much care and attention. We were sat quite near the var. The interaction between the staff was lovely and heard the waitress go into the kitchen and the chefs all sounded lovely too. All in all it was the best meal and service we've had in a long time. Keep doing what you're doing because you really stand out from the crowd in the harbour. Thank you for an amazing evening meal

Beautifully decorated, warm and cosy, family and dog friendly. Booked online which was easy and straightforward. Staff were very nice and welcoming, attentive, didn't have a long wait to order. The food was incredible! We went on a Sunday where they have a Sunday menu enough choice for everyone. We each had one of the starters, no complaints and just enough food. The mains were amazing - beef brisket roast, haven't had a better roast. I'm a cheese lover and with the roast we got broccoli & cauliflower cheese, cooked to perfection! My only annoyance is that I couldn't finish it all, maybe should of skipped the starter to really enjoy the main. Lucky to have it on my doorstep.

Went last night for my step mums birthday. Having not been before it had a lot to live up to as I work for a place over the border in Devon that does a similar styled menu so this place had to be good. Really friendly welcome when we arrived, we were 20 mins early so we sat and had a drink in the waiting area (comfy sofas and chairs). We were then shown our table and I loved the feel and atmosphere of the place. We all ordered something different from the menu and the food was top notch. I had the rebellion ultimate burger, wife had the brisket blue cheese stack, then another stack and the brisket from mains selection with mash. All of it was excellent. Tender slow cooked flavoursome meat. Menu had lots of nice options and I was torn between 5 dishes, upgraded to Cajun fries which were lovely. The side salad had coriander on it and gave it a really nice lift. I’ll pop a pic of the menu and burger on here. Staff were really nice and made us feel welcome. Food and drinks were fairly priced too. Overall a 5 star eve out and I will definitely go back again when I’m back in the homeland!!! Thanks to the team for such a great evening

Thought would give a different Rebellion a go again and a different branch. So table booked for 7pm, arrived at 6.45pm, we were told several times on arrival we have two hours!!! Christmas meal so pre ordered, we sat down and waited ages eventually going to the bar to see if we have to get our own drinks someone arrived to take our drinks order. about 7.20 starters arrived, very nice, then at 8pm our mains arrived, felt a little too long. One meal was incorrectly brought to the table (Pork not fish). We had to wait a little while for them to sort the fish and the vegetables arrived with the fish. Food was lovely, plates cleared at about 8.25pm. We considered ordering more drinks but decided against it as we knew we had to be gone by 9pm!! Well at 9.10pm I asked if our desserts were on the way and they arrived in five minutes, four were straight from the fridge and the Christmas Pudding and custard was "microwave steaming". So bearing in mind we waited 50 minutes for our desserts and having been told that we had to be gone by 9pm it tarnished the evening as we all finished our drinks 30 minutes before the desserts arrived. These Rebellion Restaurants seem to be consistent, good food poor service.

Came here on a Friday night and was fairly busy. Drinks service was very slow. The pork here is incredibly dry and inedible. You’ll find more fat on any pork dish than meat, which was genuinely drier than the Sahara Dessert. The ‘ultimate’ beef burger was also dry and tasteless. Bought to the attention of the manager when asking for the bill and met with attitude, told that the meals had been checked and because more than half was eaten, nothing could be done about it. Didn’t want to be disgusting and show her my napkin which was full of lumpy pork fat, hence not being left on the plate. It’s a shame as the cocktails and restaurant are nice, but the food was not worth the money and in all honesty the pork in particular had me feeling incredibly ropey the evening of and day after!

Wow what a letdown if you're a meat eater would be great however as a vegetarian it was horrendous only food on offer was halloumi stuff which is yuk, so I had several side dishes in separate bowls side of cheese, coleslaw, salad, chips that came 10min after the other stuff wasn't even offered a plate, clearly staff not trained to a satisfactory level in my book, staff looked bored restaurant vertically empty... They really need to get a new menu and include some new vegetarian dishes there missing out on some key customers We had a cake to cut, the knife was grubby and side plates they gave us were very wet Won't be going back £4.50 for about 20 skinny chips Just my experience like I said great if you eat meat just bad for vegetarians

Such an amazing time at Rebellion over a number of evenings. Sometimes just for drinks and other times for dinner. Food was great, staff were friendly but Abbie and Fran were amazing hosts. Would highly recommend Rebellion Charlestown with friends or family at any time.

Great atmosphere and loved the menu - but come with a hearty appetite! The decor is fun and quirky and makes for a relaxed evening. Such a great space, just behind the Shipwreck Museum. Our server was lovely and so friendly. My hubby thought the burger was awesome and all our food tasted freshly prepared and was of a high quality. Fabulous fries and slaw! Would definitely recommend and looks to be a great place to hang out with friends.

We came for an early dinner with our three children. When I explained my son is autistic and could we possibly sit away from other people in case he got upset and disturbed other diners, the hostess said don’t worry about other people he is fine we will look after you. She put us at ease and made us feel so welcome, her kindness was much appreciated and is generally the exception to the rule. Our waitress was also incredibly warm and lovely, chatting to the boys about their holiday and made sure we weren’t waiting long for food and drinks. The food was incredible, we had the brisket and mashed potatoes - the meat literally melted in my mouth! The children’s menu was great and the boys ate absolutely everything which goes to show how good it was! We stayed for pudding which we never normally do because we usually feel like we need to eat and run! Again, it was all delicious! Thank you so much to our hostess and waitress, you are a credit to this restaurant and we will definitely be back on our next holiday!

My aunts surprise 90th dinner, staff were very helpful I dropped off presents, cake & balloons before hand to be put on table as walked in ready for us. Food was lovely my aunt & nan opted for the beef brisket for sunday lunch they thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the steak chimchurri sauce on the steak was sooo good, I also had the mussels with bacon cheese & Cornish cyder was differen combination than usual so I gave it a try was delicious. The staff were friendly and attended to our needs within minutes the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere I will definately visit again when im down. top tip try the moonshine sticky toffee or pear drop soooo good

Charlestown is full of great places to eat, this is one of the best!! Food is spot on and service is great, Emma was fantastic as our server! I’d definitely recommend the ultimate burger, but warn you it needs a big appetite as it’s huge but super tasty!

Booked an evening meal as we had recommended to our friends how nice it was. Unfortunately as lovely as the restaurant is, staff very happy, polite etc we were a tad disappointed as there was no Ale on offer or Offshore Lager. Our friend had 1 Doom Bar to then be told there was no more. Food was still of good value. Dessert menu poor choices. Starters over priced.
