Ready Tasty in Reading

What's happened? The chips were reheated or tasted like it. Hard chips. Where was the chunky cod? It's like the cod (if it was cod) was sliced in half lengthways, very thin. Batter tasted reheated. They used to be 10/10 tonight 2/10

I have been using this Chippy for almost 30 years and I think it's the 2nd generation of family owning the shop. Just a fish and chip menu no deep cooked mars bars or tempera squid but very good Cod n Chips and all his mates battered sausage and chips pie and chips. Fizzy drink Tommy sauce, and wooden forks. They are however cash only but there is a cash machine next door but you will be charged to use it or understand there is one in the co-op further down. My favourite is a spam fritter and chips.

I had cod and chips £8.10, freshly cooked cod, got home, it was huge! Couldn't eat everything, so others had chips too!

Fish absolutely soaking in oil, it was dripping oif. Chips are OK. Recently fish has become more and more oil soaked. Time to find a new chip shop.

A great outlet for fish n chips and few more delicacies. It’s conveniently located with ample parking in front. You must check the opening times first to avoid disappointment. The staffs are helpful but very reserved!

The fish is good the chips used to be good but lately they have been to hard

The food at Ready Tasty is exactly as it sounds, extremely tasty. Many of the one or two star reviews before are based on the opening hours, not the quality of the food which is actually very good. The fish is flaky and fresh with a thick golden batter, and the chips are hot and delicious. The portions are HUGE! So delighted to find a great fish and chip shop in Caversham, I will be returning often!

Good food but not open as late as the sign says. That's really disappointing for a regular customer that they just turn you away so will be taking custom elsewhere.

Mmm. Just had delicious fish and chips from here. Plenty of cod inside the light, crispy batter, and lovely chips. Must do it more often!
