Pleasant staff , warm welcome .I had a sausage and bacon sandwich which was made fresh to order . perfectly cooked. It was delicious and so filling I didn't need to eat the rest of the day ! Good value for money .I will definitely be back.

Absolutely awful. Started to make my sandwich with NO gloves on. Had to ask her to wear gloves while making my food. Looked Shocked at me. Made new sandwich ham and egg mayo on brown. Photo below. WTH will not be going there again.

Very Poor standard, quality of sandwiches is dreadful, asked for salad and 2-3 little bits of lettuce and onion. Only ordered 4 sandwiches took 20 minutes to make and the shop was empty. Disappointed as it was an incredible sandwich shop. Definitely will not be returning.

We are lucky to have Rations less than half a mile from where we live. My parents often talked about rations after the second world war and it conjures up ideas of shortages. Nothing like that at Rations in Thornton..... far from it. Let's start at breakfast time.... star of the show is the Rations breakfast box.... two sausage, two bacon, two eggs, black pudding, beans, mushrooms and two toast.... a big portion and scrummy it is too. Of course, there are many combinations of barmcakes and batons to your choice too. Lunchtime (or any time) sandwiches are barmcakes or batons and well-filled they are too. From cold meats, fish and prawns to hot beef with onions, turkey with stuffing there is a sandwich for everyone. And if a panino (yes it's a panino.... panini being the plural, so more than one panino) is your desire, they do them too. Crisps and pop add to the experience along with wonderful home made cakes. If you in the area, divert...... if you are on Fleetwood Road, stop..... you simply have to try it out. Awesome...... 6 stars!!!

Visited for lunch planning to have a sandwich however couldn't resist a meat and potato pie! Finished off nicely with some cherry flapjack - it was absolutely lovely! Staff were lovely and friendly too.

I have nothing but praise for Rations and the staff. The rolls and batons are always fresh & tasty, with good-sized portions and prices. Plus you'll be served by the friendliest people ever behind the counter. Try the desserts too... the brownies and cherry bakewell are mouth-watering!

This sandwich shop really surprised me, the food was wonderful so much so I was craving one of their sausage and egg barms this week, they were closed for the Xmas period thou. They asked me if I wanted salt and pepper on my sandwich, I don't think a sandwich shop has ever asked me before. A lad came in and ordered a sausage roll and the lady asked him if he wanted sauce on it. Those little things make a huge difference. The lady behind the counter was really friendly as well. I will go back again.

I literally live next door to a sandwich shop in Thornton and I walk 10 minutes out of my way to get sandwiches from Rations bc next door is so awful and because Rations are always sublime. The bread is not only fresh but its wonderfully soft, The Ham is such good quality. The people who run it are always polite and super friendly and nothing is to much trouble. It really is so nice to have somewhere like Rations in the area. After living away from the north west for a while i noticed when i returned that the quality and standard of catering based businesses were alarmingly poor. Rations is a most welcome addition to this little village, we desperately needed a great little sandwich shop! Ps. I also read the singular poor review and clicked on Matthews other reviews, i think he's either the awful baker next door or obviously a product of his environment which is as poor as the review he left. He actually reviewed a kebab shop (dog meat) and Thornton lodge (frozen & microwaved everything, i know bc i worked there briefly) and said it was excellent... lol!

Being a local builder its hard to find a great place to have a quick breakfast bite or a good lunch, this place has you covered for what ever your belly needs.

Fantastic little shop. Absolutely spotless. Great friendly service along with very reasonable prices. Been using it for a month now , every morning before going to work wouldn't go anywhere else now !

Been going to Rations since it opened. Always excellent food, good size portions and very reasonable prices. Cant recommended highly enough.

I go to Rations every day for my lunch, and every day i leave satisfied. They have great sandwiches and consistently are the best sandwiches in the area. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Certainly no rations here ! We visit this place most days for our dinner and always been happy with my food The youthful looking staff are very friendly and always happy to help Nice clean shop always a good sign of a good place

I asked for a bacon baton, but It was extremly chewy i had to bin in :-( Although i didn't eat it all the portion was tiny for the price & the staff look like they are still in school. Had a sign up saying they were closing for christmas on saturday 18th dec even though that's the 19th?? Lets hope their food dating is better.

Seem to use only the best ingredients to produce top notch food I'm never far away. Good value for money friendly knowledgable staff.

Cracking butty bar. Offers a wide, typical range of lunch time foods, all at a very reasonable price. I've returned a few times since.
