Food at Ramen Kulture Oxford was good as always, but the service was disappointing. When paying, the server told us the service charge was "optional." However, when we chose not to pay it, she immediately turned hostile - rolling her eyes and aggressively tearing the receipt. If something is truly "optional," customers shouldn't face such negative treatment for declining. This completely ruined what would have been a pleasant dining experience. The food quality remains good, but the unprofessional service makes it difficult to recommend or return.

Would have been around a 4.4 a year or so ago and represented a solid, pretty authentic ramen shop in Oxford - this was backed up by the long queues. Sadly, it really seems to have dropped the quality on the most recent visit. Broth was lacking punch and can't really say it was tonkotsu - more like a lightly flavoured chicken stock. My partner got the duck teriyaki ramen which in itself seems pretty dubious in terms of authenticity, and the soup was very salty without much else to say. Takoyaki was reasonably good at least. Can't honestly say I'll be back.

Visited for lunch and had the most terrible service. We were ignored waiting in line and all the way throughout there was not any sort of hospitality. Shortly after our starter arrived, our mains were given to the people sitting next to us in error. When they found out that error, it was simply passed on to us. I felt extremely uncomfortable eating meal that had strangers talking over it and inspecting it if it was theirs, they could have taken a bite and I would not have known. Instead of addressing their error, the server only moved their wrong bowls over to us and hastily gave us the spoons. I wish we could have had new bowls made for us instead as I could not enjoy my meal. Not only that, the servers were clearly more friendly to people on other tables, asking if they wanted any other condiments or telling them about the other branch Ramen Korner. My partner enjoyed the Chicken Karaage, it had a nice crispiness. I found my main Teriyaki Duck Ramen satisfactory but my partner had the Spicy Tonkontsu ramen which had weird flavourings akin to adding curry powder in the broth. It feels as if both our broths did were not developed as well. I felt terrible I chose this place to celebrate a special occasion for lunch. I get that it was during a busy period, but service should still be at an acceptable level. I have visited before previously and it was not so bad but I won’t be coming again unfortunately as this has confirmed my opinions about the place.

Ok I’m on the fence with this one, the food is lovely and so tasty. Where my apprehension comes is with the fact that the restaurant is no bigger than you or I’s bedroom-now imagine your bedroom with 30 people eating in it, relaxing? Not so much. Due to its small size there is quite often a queue to get in, with no shelter this can be quite unpleasant in the usual miserable weather. You also feel slightly rushed due to their high turn over nature and need to seat the growing queue of hungry people outside. But, and I must emphasise this, I cannot give Ramen Kulture lower than 4 stars. Despite its flaws-which I cannot say is their fault-the food is as I said earlier so lovely and tasty and so authentic. So if you think you can deal with the rush and proximity of the restaurant and you’re in need of a bowl of amazing ramen this is place for you.

Food is delicious considering the selection, or the lack thereof, in Oxford. Asahi available on tap. The pork in the ramen could have been more tender. The broth was excellent. Ramen is great, although I would prefer like in Japan they would give you a piece of paper to choose how you would like your ramen and everything. The duck ramen was okay. The crispy duck had a few bites that were scrumptious, but some where it was evident that the duck wasn’t the best quality, and all that I could feel in my mouth was cartillage. The broth was too salty and the crispy shallots had turned into mush when served to us. The noodles themselves, egg and mushrooms were great though. But overall disappointing, and not worth the wait in the rain.

We made a note to try this place seeing the long line of Asian students and hearing a few good reviews from people. Unfortunately, the experience left a (literal) bad taste in our mouths. This experience was a couple of weeks ago, we shared some unmemorable starters and their signature tonkotsu ramen and the spicy kimchi tonkotsu ramen. Though neither of us were familiar with this style of ramen, there were a couple of glaringly obvious points which ruined the bowl. Firstly, the tinned sweetcorn had not been rinsed, and imparted the whole bowl with a strong taste of tinned sweetcorn water. Secondly, the flavour of the actual broth was completely unpalatable. The unpleasantness of cheap pork and chicken bones was unmistakable. You can’t make a decent broth with cheap bones - especially pork and chicken. The condiments were non functional. It would have taken eight minutes to shake a reasonable amount of chilli flakes from the shaker to slightly improve the meal. The (supposed) chilli oil was just a red oil. No immersed flakes etc. neither could improve the bowls unfortunately. Service was fine. Can’t complain. Atmosphere was decent but slightly spoiled by the lady sitting next to us who was giving off a highly offended vibe in response to us critiquing the food. She must be one of the crowd of uncritical fans of this place. Disappointed and would avoid at all costs. Hoping to find a local ramen place which respects the value of quality ingredients.

This place is legit! Now I have had a lot of good ramen in Japan and everywhere else in the world, this is the first one I found so far in England which can live up to my standards. The gyoza was cooked then pan fried to perfection. Soft and chewy on the top, crispy on the bottom, juicy tender core (chicken). The Tonkatsu Ramen that I had was on point, thick and flavorful broth, clean with the milky look from the bone marrow and collagen cook down. It could use a bit more salt but it is good enough. The chashu pork was done perfectly, soft flavorful pork, not too thin, and torched just right. The noodles, now those made me feel like I was back in Japan, plus that perfect half broiled egg. The one star was lost to my colleagues Spicy Ramen, normally it is the base ramen with some spice oil and pepper or both. Whatever it is used for the spicey spin cannot over power the flavor of the broth. They added cumin, what? I know food in England has alot of Indian influence but cumin in a Tonkatsu broth is just wrong. Cumin is known for its aromatic properties, not for spice, so there is almost no point to add cumin to the mix. The aroma of the cumin is a bit overpowering. But besides that this place is solid!

Tienen asientos afuera. En fin, comida increíble.

One commendable aspect is the excellent service. 🍜 Tonkotsu Ramen Slow-cooked Japanese BBQ pork is one of the best part. The soft-boiled egg is good but the flavor can be aggravated. The pork bone broth could also be richer and more flavorful. 🍜 Tan Tan Beef Ramen The taste of Tan Tan noodle flavor is appetizing and quite spicy, but it doesn't quite match with ramen. 🍜 Teriyaki Duck Ramen Roast duck rarely appears in ramen. Always love their ramen, albeit slightly salty to my palate, but thats alright. They use double bone broth for their soup base, so for those with a taste for saltier version, this is for you. I just dont get it why they have to put sweetcorn into the soup, i think there are better stuffs to put into , like edamame or sesame seeds. Just hope that they have more seatings as they have quite limited seats indoor, so you have to queue while waiting to be seated during peak hours. But it's one of the best ramen places in Oxford.

I’ve been here twice, but I should go more! I’m not a ramen expert but this is the best ramen I have ever had! The bone broth is really amazing, I honestly dream about it. Definitely would recommend! The staff are also extremely nice

Authentic Japanese food. The only downside is that they only accept cash.

We spent the day in Oxford and hadn't planned any dinner. Luckily Sticks'n'Sushi was able to fit us in. Initially just for an hour but then thanks to a cancellation we were able to stay for dessert as well We were a party of 4 and went for a la carte in that each of us essentially ordered just food for ourselves. They also do offer sharing platters but we tend to always prefer to just get stuff we each like Everything from the cooked food to the raw sushi was excellent The yakitori (meat/fish on a stick cooked over a Japanese grill) were all amazing from the salmon to the chicken meatballs we actually all ended up ordering additional portions of them at the end of our meal The sushi was great with a stellar variety of both classics and modern style innovative sushi recipes. One thing very nice here is that they do it properly as in that most of the sushi recipes they put the wasabi inside the dish which is how they normally do it in Japan but outside of Japan I've not seen that done much out of fear that people might not like wasabi. So that was a really pleasant surprise The classics are perfectly crafted and the modern sushi recipes are bursting with flavours. Even recipes I normally don't like were done in a way here that I actually loved it. For example I'm not a fan of cream cheese in sushi rolls. However their Alaskan Salmon roll with cream cheese was absolutely delicious as the proportions were perfect and the flavour of the cream cheese did not dominate the dish I also loved that they brought special sashimi soy sauce when you order sashimi. I think it was umami soy sauce but not entirely sure. Whatever it was it was perfect for the sashimi and much better for it than the normal table soy sauce you get Another dish I'm not normally a fan of is the Chocolate Fondant cake and yes I took a gamble and had it here but it was absolutely delicious! The matcha core really helps with the overpowering taste of the liquid centre and the combination with their homemade vanilla ice cream was perfection. All the desserts we ordered were great though from the Yuzu cake to the Chocolate Fondant cake to the trio of sorbets Price wise I actually found this to be all very reasonably priced. For the quality of the food the prices are actually quite low. You can expect to pay substantially more per person for this kind of quality in London Perhaps a good thing that Oxford is so far of a drive from us as otherwise we'd be tempted to eat here on a monthly basis! Looking forward to the next time we are in Oxford and we have no doubt where we will eat on that occasion

Really, really awesome place. We also tried to go to Taberu but it's closed. It had better reviews than sushi corner but we're really glad we ended up here. It opened our eyes to a whole world of fishy rice. The staff were friendly and helped us work out what we wanted from the menu. The place was really comfortable - at peak times people had to wait for a table but never too long. For a starter we had pumpkin croquettes which were delicious. The mayonnaise was vinegary and straight up one of the best parts of the meal. We also had agadashi tofu which was soft, sweet and in a delicious broth. We also had some edemame which were alright I guess. My girlfriend had a unagi don. I think eating eel is pretty dodgy but she seemed to have a good time. We had sets which were both great. I chose the special family one because it had salmon skin and holy hot damn let me tell you that's so good. It's hours later and I'm still thinking about that crunchy salmony goodness. It's a life changer, so good. Mackerel is my favourite fish and they did it justice on the nigiri too. For desert they all strawberry mochi but I had tofu pockets which were nice and sweet as a finale. Also we had some hot tea which was great. The glasses were so pretty they looked like artefacts from the national history museum. 10/10 restaurant it's the most I've enjoyed a meal in ages. What's the deal with the video they're playing of dodgy actresses pretending to enjoy sushi? They really went with the take where she dribbles half of it down her chin?

The store's website said they had discounts, but the store clerk told me without any explanation that they didn't offer discounts, which made me feel uncomfortable. Presentation: 2/5 Taste: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Value: 1/5 Overall: 1.5 Poorly executed franchise with staff who are aware website offers promotions withdrawn several months ago yet don’t raise to management, rather insinuate the website and customer are wrong. Totally obsolete customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.
