Ramen Dayo! in Glasgow City

My teenage daughter & friends frequent Ramo Dayo ~ they love the chicken noodles & Dumplins, today the friendly staff made it that more special by singing Happy 16th Birthday ~ & served up the chocolate b.day cake Cheers all

Ramen was lovely, staff were nice enough but service was actually poor. Another table that came in after us and sat opposite us was given water on arrival but we weren’t. We then had to ask for the drinks menu…then after ordering, I had to ask twice where our drinks were. We arrived at 19.45, finally got drinks at 20.20! If they’d come back to check on us, we would have got more drinks, but nobody did. Not the best experience but ramen was lovely.

Service was lovely - very helpful & friendly (both upstairs in tiny restaurant which was full & downstairs in bar that offers overflow space). But the tonkatsu ramen was a pale imitation of the real thing. Tonkatsu broth should be unctuous and cloudy with flavour, dayo’s had none of this. Extra roast garlic was raw slices, and no pickled ginger. Not unpleasant just very average. Fried gyoza were fine, tho deep fried rather than the conventional pan fried/griddled. Maybe I’m being too purist but overall was disappointing.

Best ramen I’ve ever tasted. How they get the flavour, I do not know! Lovely little restaurant. Great service, everyone kind, accommodating and friendly.

Gorgeous little Japanese restaurant! I loved this place the second I walked in, it was so cute and had anime playing. An excellent place to grab a bite with your friends or on your own. I had the chicken katsu and the grape soda and both were wonderful but the grape soda tasted amazing! Would recommend to anyone who loves Japanese food and likes somewhere with a good vibe.

Popped in here for eats and drinks on way to a gig. have to say I was thoroughly impressed. Loved the environment, the Japanese street vibe look and feel and cannot fault the food we had, very tasty. And all washed down with a pint of Sapporo. Staff were great, attentive. Menu was as expected for this type of place, and the was tasty! Reasonably priced food and drinks (as expected for Glasgow). Well worth a visit!

After a nice day in the west end my girlfriend and I decided to try this place in Ashton Lane . Overall it was a pleasant experience . Upon entering you are greeted with lovely decor that makes you feel like you are in Japan . The staff are friendly. The food was overall quite tasty . For starters we shared chicken gyoza and it was really good. The shell had a slight crisp and the filling was great. The mains consisted of a pork devil ramen and classic chicken ramen . The pork ramen was very spicy and the broth was well seasoned . The classic chicken had a wonderful flavour to the broth but the chicken could have been chopped into pieces rather than minced . The seasoning on the chicken was okay . Overall we did enjoy the ramen and would definitely go back again. If you are in the west end then head over and try for yourself.

The servers are the only saving grace of this place. They're friendly and responsive. The food... I would not even call it Japanese food. Everything was overcooked, lacked seasoning, and did not even look presentable. I would know recommend the food here, you can move on to other places on the same street.

It’s taken me a while to get back to this, what I would say about this restaurant. But I can safely say this is the worst food, I’ve ever had that has no flavour, there octopus was absolutely disgusting, and the ramen lacked anything and felt like it was split and overcooked, the staff even admitted they wouldn’t eat it. I hope the owners see this and deal with it. Apologies to have to do this, but I won’t comeback, even if they begged me to. Goodbye

Ich habe in diesem Rahmen Restaurant dumplings gegessen und diese waren jetzt nicht schlecht aber auch nicht überragend. Leider ist mir negativ aufgefallen, dass doch alles sehr speckig, klebrig und unsauber wirkt. Vor allem wenn man die Speisekarte bekommt, hat man doch starke Zweifel, dass hier die Hygiene und Sauberkeit vollumfänglich eingehalten wird!

I've been to Ramen Dayo I'd say almost ten times now, it's one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow! The ramen is always incredible, full of flavour, my favourite is the Miso Black with an egg. But the sides are always fantastic too, in particular the chicken karaage, its the best fried chicken you can get in Glasgow! The Ashton Lane has a really cosy, special atmosphere with it being so small, so I'd recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Always incredible food. Every time we have friends visit us, we take them here. If you are vegetarian, the shittake and porticini ramen is amazing, and I'd also recommend the veggie tantanmen, it has a good hit of spice to it.

It took 45mins for a starter to arrive and it was cooked incorrectly, fried instead of steamed, I pointed this out, however I was told it was correct, once it was agreed that the order was indeed wrong, they started making fresh, I explained we couldn’t finish it all, so they boxed it! Both our main meals arrived separately, so we ate whenever we could! The chicken in breadcrumbs was rock hard and basically all crispy coating and the chicken I couldn’t taste! The curry sauce had soy sauce in it and made it taste bitter instead of sweet! At £2.95 for a small bottle of coke, we’d drunk £9 of coke before any food arrived! Staff are pleasant, but trying to pass of the wrong food was honestly stupid! I wouldn’t go back, it’s overpriced slow and the food we had, very average!
