Booked after a recommendation and to be honest, we were not disappointed. Service was quick and friendly, and the food was really tasty and enjoyable. Nice variety on the menu, and all of us were pleased with what we had.

APPALLING attitude from staff! On arriving with a group booking for a special occasion - the presumed “manager” was so rude - claiming we had no booking. After finally finding the booking and the PAID deposit - did not apologise nor offer us a table or accepting he had made a mistake. He THREW the money at a family member and when challenged by another family member claimed he “dropped the money on the floor” - disgusting behaviour. Terrible customer service, rude upon arrival no correction made for HIS mistake - and a lost a huge booking. The restaurant was empty so I think it speaks volumes. A happy, warm welcome goes a long way. After being highly recommended here it was more than disappointing.

I booked for 12 people for a 60th birthday celebration & went in and paid £20 deposit. On arriving, we were told there was no booking, as I had not been in to pay the deposit - I have a receipt for it! The restaurant was empty but they were so rude & did not want our custom. It was for my brother-in-law’s 60th and my sister was in tears. They finally found the booking & deposit but offered no explanation & threw the £20 cash at my sister. Very upset & disappointed after being highly recommended.

Visited rajnagar for first time tonight and can't wait to go back. Do not understand why the staff get so many bad reviews as I thought they were really friendly knowledgeable and amusing. Food was probably the best Indian food we have had for years. We had chicken madras and chicken jalfrezi and both were spot on. The atmosphere was calm and friendly so see you again soon.

We haven’t been here for ages so decided that it was time for a revisit. The staff could not have been more helpful. We both chose fish based curries. The food was delicious. It was well cooked, well served and there are unusual options on the menu for Asian food. My friend is Asian, so is very fussy! Excellent quality and wonderful service.

Large restaurant which catered for our group of 20 after visiting a show at NEC Birmingham. We stayed in a local hotel and were recommended to visit this restaurant. Excellent food, top service and decent ambience. It was busy for a Monday night, we really enjoyed it. Try booking in advance for a good table. The restaurant has multiple awards and it’s proven through its food. Will visit again next year when I’m back in brum! P.s. it’s only a 10 mins drive from NEC and has a car park in front!

Arrived at 7:30pm and had to wait well over an hour for our starters….we only received these as we asked for them…and was informed by the waiter that as it was a Saturday night they were busy with take out orders…then he looked at us as if to say what do you expect. …not at all interested…. We are now 2 hours in and still waiting for a main course….awful customer service and will definitely not be returning :-(

We ate here at the weekend on Saturday night and to be honest it was absolutely awful service and all the staff were so rude. We had a table booked for 7.30pm but didn't order any drinks till an hour... We had to ask someone if we could order our drinks now after sitting there for an hour and being ignored. Then we managed to order our mains which took hours to arrive by this time it was around 10pm, and most of our table wasn't hungry by this time as we had waited so long. It was shocking service and the waiters was very rude and sarcastic to us. We have eaten here before in the past and always had a pleasant experience but this was not good! and it was an expensive meal. They just take your money and thats it no customer service no warm welcome or good bye. Even on of the waiters was moaning to us about his job which was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. They also slammed meals in front of us which was quite loud. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! We will never ever be returning again.

We dined in a few weeks back and had a really poor experience but thought we’d give it the benefit of the doubt and order a takeaway from there on another occasion. Unfortunately, it was terrible, yet again. The customer service is shocking, possibly the rudest staff members I’ve ever encountered. Curry was freezing cold and tasted very bland, the same as when we dined in. Most of the people in our party when we ate in physically couldn’t eat the curry it was that bad. Just didn’t taste nice at all. We complained in the restaurant about the fact we wasn’t happy with the food and the rude staff member just shrugged his shoulders. Not even a simple “I’m sorry”. Prices given over the phone when ordering are completely different (a lot more expensive) than what it is when looking or ordering online. So if you are going to order, I’d suggest doing it through their website as they charged us an extra £6 apparently just for ordering on the phone! Terrible. Should update the website and pricing to match those given in person or on the phone. Overall, we will not be returning here again. Very disappointing.

On arrival was greeted by a dithering old man. No good evening just "name" then "follow me". Then the front of house manager asked in broken English if we wanted papadam. These were brought quite quickly. We were then presented with drinks menu followed by mains menu. The front of house manager told us not to rush. After deciding the Front of House manager very kindly helped my partner choose. I asked for a Chicken Korma which when arrived was firstly dark for a normal korma and spicy than a normal korma. It was only when I got the bill I realised it was not what I expected. This was never advised. Next came dessert. I had the "Vanilla Dream" ice cream which tasted just like normal vanilla ice cream. Then came the bill. 2 papadam, 2 mains, 2 desserts, Bacardi and coke, pint of larger and pint of coke a fraction under 60£ which I found reasonable. Lovely decor with gentle music in the background. Would I go again? After reading the history and awards prior to going I was expecting better service. I doubt I'd return but the jury is out on that decision.

So 6 of us went to the Rajnagar for my husband's birthday. I walked in first, absolutely no words of welcome just a barked question "What's your name?" The service was ok but as others have mentioned the waiter's manner could be interpreted as rude, to me he came over as a little brusque and had no personality or pleasant manner about him which really does improve a restaurant experience in my opinion. I ordered a king prawn starter for around £7 or £8 and couldn't believe when it arrived, there were literally 2 prawns on the plate with a few leaves 🤣 but it was delicious. My main course was chicken tikka with around 7 or 8 small round chunks of chicken, again tasty but let's just say I was glad I wasn't overly hungry. I think everyone's food was ok-ish but the atmosphere between us suggested we were all a bit disappointed. I don't think we shall be returning any time soon.

Went in to collect a takeaway and said it was a cheesy naan and the man said abruptly “No it is garlic naan” I explained that we had in fact ordered cheesy naan and he then spoke to a colleague in his own language and then looked at me and said “well you will have to wait then, over there” shooing me a way. Another customer waiting to be seated said to me “gosh, that told you didn’t it, he could have at least said please” she looked embarrassed for me. He then proceeded to talk to other people on the phone and left me there 10mins. Someone from the kitchen came out and he said “can you make a cheese naan” so he had made me wait for him to re order it and then I had to wait again for it to be cooked. He looked at me and said 2.50, no please or Thankyou. The guy behind the till also never used manners. The young chap that gave me the food was polite but the other’s were rude and made me uncomfortable. I will never eat here again.

Warm welcome, nice restaurant and very well presented. Menu not very vast. Staff friendly and helpful. Food is tasty with lots of meat and ingredients. The sauces (mint sauce and red sauce not full of flavour) but food well cooked (chicken slightly over cooked for the starter.

We ordered a takeaway from the rajnagar and were left very disappointed with what we had! The two main courses, both priced at over £10 as we both selected the chicken tikka option, were bland and watery… and the chicken was just larger pieces of chicken…. Not tikka so didn’t justify the additional £1.55 each!! We had paid for popodums and dips etc, and no additional popodums were provided, which felt very miserable considering pretty much every other Indian restaurant we have ordered from provide this as a complimentary extra. We have ordered from lots of curry houses in Shirley and Solihull and would say this was the worst one we have had… save your money and go elsewhere!

Have been going to the Rajnagar since it opened, the staff are lovely but the food seems to have gone down a little recently, also the last time we went for a birthday there was no gift for the persons birthday (not a big deal but it is advertised) my main issue was the fact then you get charged £5.00 for a pint of coke or lemonade poured out of a 2L bottle. It was cheaper for a pint of Cobra!

Excellent food the best authentic Indian in Solihull. Went on a busy weekend but the service and time was excellent. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

We used this delivery service for the first time in January. We ordered a main course tandoori chicken. When it came it was only a starter. We contacted them and they offered a free main course when we ordered again.We had a meal last night. They kindly gave the main course free as promised. The chicken was undercooked and still had blood coming out of it!WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN.

We have always visited the rajnagar and always loved it. We had a takeout last night and WOW it was even better. The taste was amazing the heat was spot on the naans were lovely. Thank you so much we cant wait to visit you when you are back open!Also covid safe when picking up

Popped in for a cheeky takeaway, after work and Mo sorted it out quickly and tasted delicious, had chicken madras good amount of heat & meat, and nice portion for a big bloke. Will be back cheers MO and the team. Sorry ate it before I could get a pic. Chris

Visited the Rajnagar after a good recommendation and they were spot on. Served by Mo, who was very good with a group of people waiting for their orders. The food was hot in temperature and spicing. I had the Madras which was very nice. The pilau rice and naan read was good. Will definately be returning.

The food was very bland no flavour to it also was very expensive and no free poppadoms when you spend nearly £50 you expect it first and last time

Live two minutes away from restaurant still had to pay £2.00 for delivery and service charge, wait time was 50 minutes came an hour and 10 mins later, phoned restaurant to chase order, not the politest on phone said was with driver we live 2 mins away turned up 5 mins after phone call had clearly been sat there as everything was cold and needed reheating, for price compared to others you get small portions, have eaten in the restaurant before and was nice so we were disappointed

We received a leaflet through the post for takeaway service. It mentions awards ie. winning Indian cuisine so we thought we would give it a go.... When I called poor customer service On the phone no welcoming I wasn’t even sure I called the right number I had to ask was this the Rajnagar. From this is went down hill I was on the phone for approx 10mins maybe more as the person who answered my call kept doing other things. Should have realised then to hang up and go elsewhere. Once my order was placed wasn’t given a time how long it would be or a thank you for my service or a good bye! The food came within 45 minutes which isn’t too bad however the food was cold there was hardly any meat and it was a small portion for the price. As you can guess this will be our first and last time we will be using this restaurant! Thank you for spoiling our evening you get an award for that :)

As always great tasty food with lovely friendly service, the staff always help me to choose something different and will make dishes do suit your level “Hotness” which I appreciate and so do my children as one likes hot and the other not so much.. Easy to book a table by phone will call you back if leave message and also great for take away. Rajnagar is a family favourite and we will be back soon!

I had been recommended this place a few times over the years and although it is within walking distance I tried it out for the first time with my wife a couple of days ago.The good part first is that the food tasted good (nothing special /not bad), the service was good, it is clean and you do not leave smelling like you worked a shift in the kitchen, and the price was reasonable.What was not good was that my wife's chapatti was taken out of a plastic bag before serving, which indicates that it was not made fresh, which is unforgivable given how easy they are to make. The soap bottle in the gents was broken which meant I had to unscrew the pump to get soap. I'm always weary of an establishment that does not have soap easily accessible as it makes me wonder what staff do. Both my wife and I had a little upset stomach the next day that also should not happen. I would not go there again and would not recommend, all things considered.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant. The service was amazing and the curry was out of this world and just so happens I was after a new local Indian! Taking advantage of eat out to help out the restaurant was extremely clean with the waiters cleaning all the time wearing visors and masks making you feel very safe with socially distanced tables. Definitely the best place for Indian food in the surrounding area! Will be back again 100% can’t wait!

Recently moved to the area and decided to try the local Indian that I had heard great things about. I have to say we weren’t impressed. Staff were rude, starter was stone cold and second lot of drinks ordered didn’t turn up until we chased them 20 mins later. Seems they take your drinks order and then conveniently not bring them as some of the other reviews say the same. Won’t be returning in a hurry

We are regular customers at this restaurant. This was our first visit since lockdown and we were very impressed at the lengths the staff have gone to to provide a safe environment. Tables are spread out with tape on floor for social distancing. There is no decoration on tables, just plates and napkins. Staff wear gloves and visors at all times which must be very difficult on a long shift. The food as always was exceptional. Although unusual at first, we still had a relaxing evening and would encourage anyone to go back and support this great restaurant. Many thanks to the staff for their hard work.

Stayed with relatives and ordered a takeaway from Rajnagar. I found it generous with its chicken and very tasty. The onion bhajis weren't greasy either.

Second time i had a take away, first time ordered sheek kebab starter, 1 kebab cut into 3 pieces with a few dodgy onions, main was a lamb madras which was very bland. Second time i ordered cost a lot of money, asked for delivery, two hours later no food so rang up, said i never asked for delivery, which i did got all defensive and asked for another £1,50 to deliver, food arrived it was rubbish, keep well away, over priced, living of the reviews from the 90's.

Order via uber eats and just thoroughly disappointing. We ordered a mixed tandoori mix and poppadoms. Prawns had a funny taste, I suspect they were frozen rather than fresh. The sheikh kebab was just awful and under seasoned, everything was cold. Just such a shame as this place previously was a really good quality. Standards have slipped, small portions and poor quality food, will NOT be going back!

It was a NewYear's dinner with a few friends of long time association - we introduced them to this place long time back .A fine eve.of dining some special food - not cook at home every day ,excellent taste , buzzing atmosphere - service with a smile - very cordial , very welcoming . The chocolate at the end of payment - was so good - generous amount too. Planning to go soon again .

It never starts well when you order drinks that do not turn up - after a period of time we eventually flagged a waiter down to ask where the drinks were and he confirmed they had ‘lost the order’. The food was not great- korma tasted spicey?Service was dreadful, I found the waiters very rude, grumpy and unhelpful. This was always our go to curry house but we won’t be returning again.

Been eating here for 29 years and never had a bad meal. Mr Khan and the staff are always friendly and efficient. Highly recommend a visit.

On a visit to the UK after four years absence and thought I'd revisit this place to see if the food and service were as good as I remembered. It didn't disappoint, food was excellent, some new faces in service but it was as efficient and friendly as I remember. Thanks to Mr T and Mr Khan for remembering me.Still very busy, for obvious reasons so make sure you book. There is parking outside but it is restricted and fills up quickly Good selection of beers.

Woz there for birthday party everyone had set menu price meal but somehow bill double with a few drinks even thou most people didn't have one

Only this week's we went to celebrate a birthday thought sticking to the set menu would be straight foward enough for staff to calculate but totally over charged and made up items. Feel like they took advantage of a large party there continues to be no explination of the cost.Will never visit again

We waited 15 minuets for someone to come to take our drinks order. We ordered starters and mains. We waited at least an hour for our starters. There was only 4 of us so I don’t know why the food was taking so long. The table who sat down at the same time next to us had already eaten there starters and mains, it’s like we had been forgotten about. Very dissapointing and they didn’t seem to be very apologetic.

Went with my son early evening to our favourite Indian restaurant and as always met by Mr Khan who showed us to our table. When our main dish arrived my son realised he had made a mistake in his order. No problem for the staff, they re-ordered and prepared his intended meal. Very grateful for rectifying what was our error without fuss. Once again we enjoyed a high quality good value meal. Many thanks to the staff.

Fantastic food, a pleasant welcome and surroundings, the staff were great advising us on our curry, and creating off the menu dishes for me the fussy one. Good beer and decent prices, a definite thumbs up

I am a regular at the Rajnagar and can say from a non biasd opinion I have NEVER had a bad meal from here. The staff are fantastic and food even better. One dish that never fails to disappoint is the ‘Murgee Chilli Bahaar’ I have never came across another curry which tastes the way this does. Unbelievable Jeff. I must compliment the Onion bahjees, outstanding. If there’s a way I could possibly by shares in the restaurant, feel free to contact me as I cannot have you ever closing down.

I booked a table here in February for my Mums 60th birthday, I paid a £50 deposit as the table was for 15 people. After visiting the restaurant a few years back for my Fathers birthday I couldn't wait to return.

No booking so arrived as party of 5 on spec and despite tables seemingly being available we were asked to wait. One of these empty tables was allocated and we were seated. After quite a long wait, we were provided with menus and orders for beer taken. Eventually the beers arrived but the waiter disappeared before we could give him our selections. It took an effort to find anyone willing to take our order and then even longer for our selections to be delivered to the table. Chicken jalfrezi was fine, the aubergines excellent, the takha dhal too wet and the plain naan did not seem fresh from the oven. The overall impression was not above average for either service or food. Not one to try again

We had a lovely meal with the family. We didn't feel rushed and the food was fresh with plenty of meat in the dishes. Very pleasant staff.

Been going to this restaurant for 18 years . Food is always brilliant but last night my wife and I almost finished our meal & behind us 3 drunk and rude Asians were seated . Foul homophobic language came out of them loudly and treated the staff like dirt.

Had a booking here last night. Catered for 14 people. Meal was very nice to be fair BUT the waiters were extremely miserable and a little snappy which was not great when you are celebrating a birthday Meal that came to over 240 pounds, and a few times we had to ask for things we ordered but did not come. I even had to go to the bar to ask for a drink when we arrived. If the food was not as nice then i wouldn't go again. Maybe the waiters were having a bad day... all of them!!! Even got the birthday boys meal wrong.....shame really.

First time the majority had visited this restaurant a family of 13 members not one of us could really fault the food apart from a couple who said the lamb was a bit fatty.Mine and my wife's starter of chicken pakora was nice the mains of chicken tikka and a chicken balti were very good we shared rice,chips and a naan bread not really keen on the cobra beer £3.95 a pint my wife's pina colada was fine £7.95 only gripe I had was the service trying to get there attention for drinks probably needs better organization although the food came out in an orderly fashion we all said we would try this restaurant again.

Had a lovely meal here. Paneer and chicken balti for main. Pakora for starter. Attentive service. Clean and beautifully decorated. Would recommend. Reasonable prices. Accomodated for children too.

I cannot believe that a previously good restaurant has changed so much. I have used the Rajnagar for a number of years, but my last visit on 1 January 2019 was a severe disappointment.

Forced to visit here for a takeway on Christmas Eve as for some reason my usual place opposite was closed!

Booked a table for 3, service was reasonable (a little slow on arrival). Starters were excellent whilst the main meals were very good. Always get a good meal here, a definite favourite and always worth a visit.

Visited the Rajnager last night, for a family birthday get together, it was pretty busy when we arrived at about 7 . When we said we were a party of 9, one waiter rolled his eyes, like it was an inconvenience. (not a good start ) But to be fair the guys pushed a couple of tables together,and we all took our seats.Things went ok from that point, we ordered our drinks and food, and although we found the waiters a tad unwelcoming, when the food arrived it was good. The BIG problem was with the bill. we felt the bill was wrong and that had been over charged,, when we queried the bill we were felt to believe by the waiters that WE were the ones in the wrong,, We then asked for a breakdown of the bill, we were eventually told that we had been overcharged by 15 pounds,. And refunded the said amount with an apology So to sum up this place, very good food,, staff not that friendly,, and for goodness sake check that you don't get over charged. We wont go again, its the Jalabi for us next time. Disappointed to say the least,

I go to this restuarant regularly and it was nice to see our favourite waiter back. He hands down has the best customer service and always makes us feel welcome. Don’t get rid of him! And food was great as usual!

I have used Rajnagar for takeaways for many years now and find their curries top class. Highly consistent & great texture - well spiced, well portioned, hot. What more can you ask for.

We have been going here for over 20 years but on the last 2 or 3 visits the service has been poor. On Saturday we went for my sons birthday and the service was appalling. We constantly had to chase up for drinks, poppadoms, starters and main course and when the main course eventually came (well over 2 hours after we had sat down), my order had been forgotten - my son had eaten his before mine arrived at the table and when it did my naan was cold. Added to that, the quality of food wasn't great either and it wasn't the cheapest night out.

I've been here twice in the last month. First time was midweek and I was surprised at how busy it was. Sitting under the aircon blower was a little chilly, but forgivable given the extreme temperatures we've been having. Service was not the best, but food was good. We did feel rushed through our courses which did spoil the occasion. Second time was late on a friday evening- flickering light above us was not great, and although food was ok (not as good as my first time), I wouldn't rush back here again. I felt prices were a tad high for the food and service you get.

Once again the curry was fantastic and the service was efficient. We even got to sample cocktails after. One happy customer here.

Having heard rumours of the legends of the curry house, we surely did enjoy the hospitality and food that was on offer. The wait was short and the food was unbelievable. I would say out of the curry houses in Solihull, this is the best. I can’t wait to dine here again and enjoy the night again. Many thanks to the staff with special thanks to Taush who was our personal waiter who gave us a few tasters of the cocktails on offer. I can say that I will definitely be returning here soon.

Popped in to get a take away. Not sure how you can mess up on a Chicken Tikka starter but they did. Had Lamb Tikka starter and Chicken Tikka starter. The Chicken was chewy and poor quality as was the Lamb. This place used to be the best curry house for miles. Sadly this place has become too complacent.

This is a great spacious restaurant, with superb cuisine. Nice little area outside, where we had a beer before we ate. Food and staff are good here and it’s also been there for over 30 years. Lots of parking too!

A table was booked for 7.30pm for 13 - some arrived early and unfortunately 4 didn't manage to get there at all. We didn't order starters, just popadoms and pickles. We had ordered our meals about 8.16 and were told that they could take some time as they were quite busy, That was fine, however the meals didn't arrive until about 9.15 by which time we were all starving!!! Having said that the meals were all really nice and I don't think there was much left on anybodies plate. If the meals had arrived quicker the overall rating would be higher.

We went, the 4 of us. I placed and order for a bottle of house white wine, but the waiter didn't know what i meant. I had the explain what it was and I'm sure he must have given us a more expensive one. One of the party ordered prawns in a curry but then told the waiter to cancel that and she'd have the chicken instead of the prawns, what she got was prawns. We told the waiter who played stupid and we got the bill duly prawns and a higher amount added. If they are that broke, don't fleece the customer for they're own mistakes

Have been coming here now for well over 20 years and have yet to have a bad meal. The service is always prompt and courteous, the food top of the drawer (one of the best Chicken Madras in the Midlands) and the bill is always accurately presented and reasonable. I’m astonished to read bad reviews about the Rajnagar, but when you read one that starts with “we came on Valentine’s Day with our 3 year old child” it does make you wonder...

We went for a friend's birthday and it was a lovely surprise for there to be banners and a gift for her. The food was delicious, hot and arrived in good time. A little on the pricey side but a lovely treat!

As a family of 2 adults 2 children aged 10 and 3 we decided to go out all together for Valentine's night. As we had children we went early at 6pm so we thought it was going to be nice and quiet. As we entered they were only about 4 tables in there so we thought great, let's sit in the window. OH NO! we told them we had booked for 6pm and that we wanted to sit in the window but unfortunately we was shown a table right at the back of the restaurant next to the toilets. We was disgusted. not only did we feel humiliated that we couldnt sit where we wanted to when the restaurant was empty but it was freezing cold there. My husband asked if i wanted to stay or go so i said let's just bite our tongue. Wish we did go! We ordered our drinks but as We was sitting on a table for 6people and they were only 4 of us, we then had the humiliation of being told to move up the table so that they could separate the table for 2. If the restaurant was busy I would of understood and agreed but by this point we was extremely angry, so the waiter came with our meal but we told him not to bother as we weren't staying as we were too embarrassed and upset. Thankfully a manager understood our frustration and asked us what the issue was, we explained that even in an empty restaurant we cant sit where we like, because we have kids we get shoved to the back in the cold, he moved us straight away and gave us a free drink. The issue was resolved but this should not of happened. My husband has visited this restaurant at least 3times a year with 15 of his work colleagues and it looks like he will be looking elsewhere in future. Very disappointed!!

I visited this restaurant on Saturday with my husband. We hadn’t booked and had to wait for a table, which was fine. However, we waited at least 30 minutes for a table and wasn’t offered a drink for 25 minutes. We were kept waiting again to order and between courses and we felt like we had been forgotten. The service was shocking and I won’t go again

Food very nice , very popular as busy at 7pm on a Saturday - I would say is a bit expensive though .

I have been to this restaurant at least a dozen times in the last two years and the food and service has always been excellent.

We are really fortunate to live on the same road as this restaurant. We can walk there and walk back, perfect!. We have never had a bad meal in here, the lamb is always cooked to perfection and any dish ordered is always tasty!. The staff are also friendly and efficient. Can't fault it.

Once again the staff were quick and efficient, and the food was delicious. Definitely would recommend.Never fails to impress.

I go here every week on a Tuesday or Wednesday for take away and they nail the order every single time. The free extras are extremely generous and the tandoori mix is ridiculous value - utterly brilliant experience time and time again. Don’t listen to the random poor reviews - these guys have been around for over 30 years going through multiple recessions, only a top quality business can survive that...and the locals know it...:)

Visited last Sunday evening with a friend & had a great meal . Have been before ( probably 3 years ago) & it was good then . The restaurante is spaciously set out ( tables are not crammed in) & the overall feel is quality. Food was lovely & the two waiters that took it in turn to serve us were attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was 1/3 rd full ( 8pm sun night) & we enjoyed a relaxing unhurried & reasonably priced meal.

Eat here regularly. Great service, extensive menu, great atmosphere. Staff are knowledgeable regarding the dishes on offer, something for everyone. Khan is a great host and we always ask for his recommendations - and have not been disappointed yet. The specials are always good, served piping hot and freshly cooked. Would suggest booking a table especially at weekends - always busy.

Had the best curry I’ve had in a while when I visited recently with friends. Took advice from the young waiter when choosing what to eat- though I asked for it to be madras hot. I don’t normally eat a full meal but this evening I scraped the serving bowl clean. Really tasty, spicy and Morris’s- loved it. The extras that are served as complimentary elements of the meal ensure they are a viable competitor for a similar Indian restaurant, and on this occasion the Rajnagar had the edge.

There are loads of great Indians around here - this one has been here for aeons so must be doing something right and clearly there are customers who go week in week out. The staff were fine if a little harried and the food is standard Indian fare - not exceptional but certainly flavourful enough and freshly cooked. Certainly worth a visit if you want an Indian meal and are in the area - more authentic baltis can be had in other parts of the city.

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Food was nice, service was quick and staff were friendly. Definitely would recommend and I’ll be back soon!!

Came here last week for a curry with some colleagues from work. There was a group of ten or so of us but I wouldn’t have anticipated that this would have been an issue. We were seated at 7:30 with a couple arriving 10 minutes or so later. The starters weren’t bought out to us until 9:00pm... with the mains being served at around 9:30pm.Whilst the food was ok, I certainly won’t be visiting again, as the service was really very poor. What a shame, as I had heard good things.

Booked for my sons birthday. Was very busy when we arrived, table looked nice, we all took our seats. Ordered a drink straight away but took quite a long time to take our orders nearly an hour and food arrived after a very long wait. Food was lovely and good quality. My son loved his gift....nice touch. Good visit but disappointed with the waiting. Arrived at 7.30 did not leave till 11pm

We went as a group of 12, it was a great evening. Good service, excellent food, good price . My only comment would be that for larger groups it would be good to have round tables.

No welcoming from staff poppadoms and chutney tray nice ordered king prawn curry slightly hot came out a madras I had chicken tikka dansak to me you should get pieces of pineapple a pineapple was just thrown on top chicken was hard had rice that was cold naan break OK chips OK left all my chicken wasn't even asked if food was OK for 4 drinks and meals cost £45 pounds so not even a cheap curry house

Lovely welcome from the staff, nice honest Indian cuisine right by our local worth a visit they do a 4 course deal that's worth a look will be back
