Lovely dinner for our work Christmas meal. Great service, lovely seating area when you walk in, we were asked to review the menus and place order, and then we'll be seated. Service was excellent and no issues with food coming. Food overall very nice, the saag gohst was awesome, favorite dish of the night. The chicken on the mixed grill was also great. Would recommend.

Excellent dinner experience at Rajdoot! Food taste and quality is unmatched - I would highly recommend lamb chillie bhuna with peshwari naan (literally the best Peshwari naan I have tired) - trust the combination and thank me later! What made the experience wholesome for me was the staff. They were so warm and welcoming - shoutout to the sisters 🙌🏽 Thankful for an incredible evening after my hectic day at work! Can’t wait to come back 😁

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Manchester Raj Doot Tandoori Restaurant is truly a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Manchester. After trying numerous curry houses throughout the city, this place stands out as a warm and welcoming haven that feels like home every time I visit. Unparalleled Flavours and Ambiance. The Duck Chilli Garlic dish is my personal favourite, but the incredible Peshwari Naan is a close second. Each bite transports me to a world of authentic North Indian cuisine that rivals any other restaurant I've tried. The flavours are rich, bold, and perfectly balanced, creating an experience that leaves me craving Raj Doot over any other curry house in Manchester. What sets Raj Doot apart is its friendly staff who treat every guest like family. From the moment you walk in, you're enveloped in a warm atmosphere that feels far removed from trendy pop-ups or Instagram hotspots. Instead, it's a beautifully crafted dining experience that showcases the true essence of Indian cuisine. Whether you're a meat-eater, vegetarian, or vegan, Raj Doot caters to all tastes while maintaining its authenticity. It's truly Manchester's best-kept secret - a central gem that deserves recognition as one of the city's top restaurants. Raj Doot Tandoori Restaurant is an absolute must-visit destination for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine in Manchester.

Rajdoot Tandoori is one of our favourite Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Manchester. Located in Albert Square, they welcome you in, take your order in a cozy lounge with a beverage, before seating your party. Once you are seated at your table, if you’ve ordered poppadoms or starters they are waiting for you and you can start enjoying your dining experience right away while you wait for your main courses. We have previously dined with larger parties but on this occasion it was just my husband and myself. We started with some poppadoms and then we each ordered a main and shared a garlic naan. He had the lamb bhuna gosht with rice and I enjoyed the chicken tikka biriyani. Both meals were cooked to perfection and we didn’t leave a crumb behind. Having dined here before we were aware of the generous portion sizes which is why we didn’t order a starter for just the 2 of us. My husband enjoyed a Cobra lager and I had a fizzy water as well and our bill came to a very reasonable £55 for all. Quite an enjoyable meal in a lovely atmosphere with very attentive staff. A perfect date night, wholly enjoyed and we look forward to our next visit. Only regret was forgetting to take a photo lol

This gem of a restaurant was just perfect. I am very happy my friend and i came across Rajdoot on our one night in Manchester. It filled our lust for Indian with a beaut entree, Paneer Shashlik, that we shared and my Lamb Pasanda was absolutely delicious. It was topped off when we learned all the desserts were made on site so of course we had to try. Yum. The atmosphere was relaxed, colourful and enjoyable along with the price. Staff were elegant and efficient and we had a thoroughly great evening. Thank you.

Disappointed!!! This restaurant is not suited for Ind/Pak Asians; most curries taste overly tomato-based, and the portion sizes are quite small. We were hoping for more variety and quality. The only positive was the ambience, but we were truly disappointed, especially since all the dishes we tried were supposed chef specialties. Staff were warm and welcoming, we appreciate that.

I would give negative points to this place if I could. If you've had a positive experience here, count yourself very lucky. However, if you're seeking authentic Indian cuisine in Manchester, steer clear of this place, there are a lot of better options out there. The food was subpar, and when we expressed our dissatisfaction, the owner responded with arrogance, questioning why we even ate there. It's a disappointment for Indian cuisine and hospitality. They even failed to master the basic Dal Makhani. Moreover, they insist on taking orders before seating, and seem displeased if you order sparingly. Never been treated this way in any restaurant, they just ruined my evening. Save your money, time, mood and explore other eateries with more favorable reviews. Don't make the same mistake I did. You're welcome.

Been coming to Rajdoot for years. One of the best chicken korahi dishes I've ever had. They don't use base gravy as in British Indian Restaurant (BIR), as they cook it traditional method, with pestle and mortar to grind the fresh spices. You can taste the delicious spices expertly mixed and blended, along with the fragrant coriander. The pilau rice is superb and comes with golden fried onions for extra flavour. The garlic naan has actual pieces of garlic inside the bread unlike most restaurants, that simply use a pastry brush to spread a paste after being grilled in the tandoor. A true legend of the Manchester authentic curry scene.

Went for a buffet, wide selection of starters, chicken tikka and butterfly prawns were too good. Lots of salads and sauces to choose from. Kebab masala in the mains stood out for me. Rest was average. Not a lot of options for vegetarians in starters. The deserts were very good. Gulab jamun was warm with some vanilla ice cream. Gajar halwa tasted rich. The chocolate cake was a star too. Overall a good experience. Would recommend.

I was served rancid smelling "off" lamb Tikka tonight. Even the server turned his nose away when I asked him to smell it. The waiter hurriedly rushed it away to the kitchen. When I told him I didn't want to eat anything, he told me not to pay for anything. Always a sign he knows what I am saying was true. All he kept saying was "I'm at a loss how this happened as we were busy last night" Clearly as I was in for them opening on a Sunday I was served the leftovers that had gone off. The stench was horrendous

I have been here several times, and every time, this place has exceeded my expectations! It is a very authentic old-fashioned restaurant. We ordered chicken tikka, and we were surprised by how good it was. It was spicy, the rice was beautifully cooked, and it was hot. It is a real little treasure, and I wish I lived closer.

Food was good overall, a cut above the average Indian restaurant, with prices to match. It is currently one of only two in the UK, within the Asha's group, a small chain founded by former Bollywood star, Asha Boshle. Decor is modern and upscale, the soundtrack funky, and waiters smartly attired. Service was polite and attentive. We enjoyed most of our dishes, though didn’t rate the poppadom dips, or some of the wines by the glass. Overall though, a pleasing experience.
