Wow, just been here for the first time tonight while in Manchester on business. Everything about this place is absolutely fantastic. The food, the staff, venue, the ambience - I just wish I lived closer because I'd be here every week! I've never been to a tiffin restaurant, so I asked the waiter for his advice. He recommended the chilli chicken starter, it was beautiful - not too spicy and a huge portion for a starter - 10 pieces of chicken! Then he recommended Madurai Masala Dosa. I was going to order a rice dish as well, but he advised against it and suggested what I had ordered would be enough. I'm pleased he did, cos' when it arrived it was huge! I'd never tried tiffin before and it was like a big, thin, crispy pancake made from rice & lentils and a potato masala filling. I didn't know whether to eat it with a knife and fork or my fingers, again the waiter was straight there to help me out and he said traditionally you use your fingers, so that's exactly what I did! It was beautiful and really nice to eat it the traditional way. Finished off with a homemade pistachio Kulfi dessert which was so creamy. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Manchester!

I ordered a lamb biryani takeaway. Full of rice and 5 small pieces of lamb. Expensive than its competitors but quantity of lamb is very less. It is my second time ordering from here. 1st time was actually quite good. Waste of money this time. Not going to try it next time. The competitors are very well consistent in their service.

I visited during Manchester Animation Festival and I'm so glad I did!!! I got one of the lunch time specials, vegetable Thali I think it was called? It was a selection of a few veggie dishes, that I think changes daily, and it was utterly delicious! I got a paneer dish, which was nice and sweet, Bombay potatoes and cauliflower, which was my favourite, and also a super warming dahl! It also came with perfectly cooked fluffy rice, some crisps, and bread. The portion of everything was just right, and I washed it down with a delicious sweet lime soda! The staff were very lovely and super attentive, constantly keeping my glass of water topped up. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!

Went here for a company dinner and the food was very decent. They had some great veg options which we very much enjoyed. The only thing that had me scratching my head later on was the sneaky discretionary service charge (10%) on top of the bill. As the name suggests, I should have been asked for adding this on before adding it to the bill and I was not! Since, I was in a hurry to go elsewhere, I did not check the bill before paying it with card. It was only later when I was submitting receipts that I noticed it and if I would have paid that out of my own pocket I would have been absolutely livid. The funny part is, the service was very decent ( a bit slow in getting our mains and hence the rush in the end) and I would have paid the optional service charge had I been asked before adding to the bill. Anyways beware of this, don't know if it was intentional or not but I did not care for it one bit.

The restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon when we got there but it took staff about 30 minutes before drinks ordered were served & a bit longer for the food. However, once the staff started serving us, the service improved & which is why we paid the optional 10% service charge. This was our second visit & the food was as good as the first time & as expected. If the restaurant could sort their service out, this would be a great Indian street food restaurant.

This place is a must visit if you are looking for a proper Indian restaurant with decent portion sizes and insanely amazing taste. Brown person approved. The menu is full of great choices but I particularly will recommend the South-Indian dishes and special shout out to the chef who made this absolute gem of a dish ‘Madurai Masala Dosa’ *chefs’ kiss*!!!!!🤌🏼 You will rarely find authentic dosas in all of UK and this place certainly took me back to the Mumbai & Bangalore eateries that I’ve enjoyed so fondly since childhood. Special mention: Sambhar and all chutneys are the cherry on top with the Madurai masala podi dosa. For all my South Indian food fans they do gunpowder with oil.Thank me later.🫶🏼

Good tasty food, loved the flavours. Big venue - plenty of seating, not dog friendly despite what many Manchester reviews state, shame as we would go again if it was. This is my fave restaurant in Manchester as I love small plates and fast service- this place has both. I like the understated, yet funky decor, the booths that seat 6 comfortably and the ability to see the chefs hard at work. I love tasty food that has an appealing look on the plate and this hits that mark. The Indo Chinese options are always delicious too with incredible flavour. Today I ate - gobi Manchurian - wok fried cauliflower - Schezwan Momo's - tasty veg filled, like ravioli - Samosa Channa Chat - deconstructed samosa, you have to order this!’ - Chicken Lollypop - a firm favourite, been ordering this dish every time I go since this restaurant opened - Chilli Chicken - info Chinese chicken pieces, goes great with naan - Mustard chicken Tikka Kebab - simply delicious After all this I passed on the mains But I highly recommend Tanjore Chicken, Dhaba style chicken and Lamb Chukka. I do like all the Naan types too!!

The food is simply the best in England for Indian. We went for the first time and was impressed with how the food was. I have been to other ITR in Leeds, but the service has not always been good. Each dish was a fushion of the north and the south, yet the flavours were authentic. Felt like home cooked meal after a long time. I greatly recommend the Rjasthani Pam curry, I am not even exaggerating. The lamb melts in your mouth!! The waiting staff were kind and great training by the lead. One of my favourite in the city for Indian food is ITR. We often visit them and try new items from the menu. We tried the below: 1. Chicken Lollipop: 3.5/5 2. Chole Bhature : 4/5 3. Nalli Nihari : 4.5/5 4. Garlic Naan : 4/5 5. Masala Dosa: 4.5/5 We were stunned that the Nihari turned out much better than our expectations. Their Masala Dosa is close to ones we get back home and they do a decent sambhar and chutney. The chicken lollipop is a bit disappointing but since very few restaurants here serve it, we had to try. It is definitely on a pricey end but they do serve good quality and the location is great too. Parking is a hassle around, we parked in the nearby pay and park.

**Disappointing Experience at The Indian Different Room, Manchester** I am perplexed by the high rating of 4.3 for this restaurant. Our recent dining experience was far from authentic or enjoyable. 1. **Gobi Manchurian**: The dish tasted nothing like the authentic version. It had too much of ketchup and vinegar, lacking the flavors and spices typical of this dish. 2. **Idli and Accompaniments**: The idli was disappointing, clearly not fermented properly. It seemed as though the batter was mixed just before steaming. The chutney was extremely bland and did not complement the dish at all. 3. **Channa Bhatura**: The Bhatura batter was over-fermented, resulting in briwn Bha. The channa was a sour and unpleasant taste. The color was unappetizing, and the overall presentation was poor. 4. **Filter Coffee**: The filter coffee was a complete letdown, lacking the richness and flavor expected from a good South Indian coffee. Overall, the meal was a major disappointment. I hope the management takes note and improves the quality and authenticity of their dishes.

We used to come here often when we visited Manchester. The staff used to ask if youd been before, and circle out some good choices for you and explain everything about the menu... Out last trip wasn't so good- feels like they're cheaping out a bit now. The presentation of the food has taken a turn for the worse, eg Pav Bahji, that used to be really well presented on a lovely wide plate with two buns and pomegranate sprinkled on the sauce, now it's just one small plate with a burger bun and sauce in a pot. Also they used to be so attentive with filling up water glasses, and this last time, not once! Plus they now put 10% on the bill for a tip and present that to you at the end... again just makes the experience worse than it used to be. All these little things add up to make a difference, so I would give it 3 stars based on our last trip. Not likely to return based on how many other great options there are in Manchester

The decor and ambience is nice. The staff are polite and try to help out any way they can. Book in advance at their webpage and they will get in touch via email if you need anything. They are responsive and considerate in this manner. The food was average and portions were not really what I would have expected from their price points. The medu vada was not fluffy in the least bit, had an unsightly red colour and misshapen. The dosa batter was a little too fermented. Both plain dosa and Mysore masala dosa were very well made though and dosa is the one item I can recommend as the portion is appropriately sized and filling. The chicken haka noodles was a bit oily, small portion and just a few pieces at random of chicken. Do not recommend it.

A small restaurant down from Deansgate Station nr HOME building serving Indian Street food. The decor, in keeping with the street food vibe is rustic and basic, however, the food was different and good, although abit too spicey for me, more so than other Indian restaurants. Sorry I forgot to take photos of the food. The best thing I ate was a sticky sweet cauliflower starter called a "Gobi Mancunian" it was delicious. My main course was the Chatpata Mango & Aubergine masala with onion and coriander naan bread, whilst it was tasty I did need to add some yoghurt to cool it down.

Food was good overall, a cut above the average Indian restaurant, with prices to match. It is currently one of only two in the UK, within the Asha's group, a small chain founded by former Bollywood star, Asha Boshle. Decor is modern and upscale, the soundtrack funky, and waiters smartly attired. Service was polite and attentive. We enjoyed most of our dishes, though didn’t rate the poppadom dips, or some of the wines by the glass. Overall though, a pleasing experience.

Tawa was Luke warm, curries lacked oomph, no fish pakora or rice. I would probably not go back. But staff were friendly.

Lovely dinner for our work Christmas meal. Great service, lovely seating area when you walk in, we were asked to review the menus and place order, and then we'll be seated. Service was excellent and no issues with food coming. Food overall very nice, the saag gohst was awesome, favorite dish of the night. The chicken on the mixed grill was also great. Would recommend.

Went for a buffet, wide selection of starters, chicken tikka and butterfly prawns were too good. Lots of salads and sauces to choose from. Kebab masala in the mains stood out for me. Rest was average. Not a lot of options for vegetarians in starters. The deserts were very good. Gulab jamun was warm with some vanilla ice cream. Gajar halwa tasted rich. The chocolate cake was a star too. Overall a good experience. Would recommend.
