Manager can be indifferent either happy or moody. Staff otherwise are great. Food has been absolutely outstanding previously however tonight tasted tarte.

What an experience. Saturday night drink at Platform 3 followed by a meal at this restaurant. What could be better? My wife and I were with 6 others. Upon being seated at our table it seemed we were being urged to order. Admittedly the girls were nattering and had hardly looked at the menu when the waiter arrived. He seemed to take exception to our request for a little more time to choose our meals whilst we ate poppadum's. It really did not suit him . My wife said she had not yet seen a menu but was ably and helpfully informed that 'the menus were on the table'. She later admitted (along with others) to feeling rushed to order and ended up quickly ordering a simple curry dish just to keep things on an even keel. The orders were taken with little or no help from the waiter. He informed me that I would be the only one having a starter if I decided to do so, in a way that suggested this would be an inconvenient thing to do. He seemed almost 'cheesed off' listening to us decide how many portions of rice we required without telling us that some of the dishes had rice included. Consequently we ended up with more than we needed When the food arrived it was almost thrown on the table and they did little to ensure we all had the correct dishes. Some of the food was an unbelievable red colour and seemed to hum on the serving platter. I am sure it would have glowed in the dark if the power failed. One of our party began his meal to find that it was not what he ordered. Had they got the order wrong or had the meal been given to another? He was not sure. None of us were. He called the waiter over to discuss this, only to find that the waiters solution to the problem was to blame him for the mistake. My friend tried to find out what could be done but the waiter decided it would be more appropriate to argue with him and kept repeatedly blaming him. My friend was bewildered at the waiters bullying response and taken back by his method of dealing with this matter. Consequently I took exception to his tone and attitude and informed him that it is good practice to accept that the customer is always right and solving the situation would be the most appropriate thing to do. The waiter decided that this was not the best thing to do and the most appropriate action would be to start arguing with me. Not a good move. Regrettably, the red mist descended and for the first time ever I raised my voice and told him exactly and (admittedly) quite aggressively what I thought of his response to this problem and how it should be handled. I think he saw the feral look in my eyes and the steam emanating from my ears and decided to beat a hasty retreat. The silence in the restaurant was deafening. In a situation like this it would be expected to see the manager appear, apologize, and sort out the problem. However he was conspicuous by his absence until my friend asked to speak to him and discuss the matter rationally. He finally appeared with no real apologies, and no real interest. Being informed by my friend that his staff required some proper training in customer relations may not have gone down well During the whole evening it did appear to several of us that some of the waiters had an impatient, averse and almost antagonistic attitude towards the customers. We seemed to be an inconvenience I admit my behavior was not something I am proud about and apologized to my friends. I have never lost my temper in any restaurant before. I am no spring chicken and have been to many. I usually vote with my feet by not returning to poor eating establishments rather than cause a scene. However the general consensus was that the waiters attitude and actions were reprehensible such that my response was not unjustified. Everyone admits the food was ok (apart from the food colouring used) and they knocked off a sum for the meal my friend did not really want. Will we go back? Never

We’ve been here twice this year. The staff are super friendly. The food is amazing. The restaurant is clean. I think there could be more options on the wine menu, but other than that, we can’t fault it

So here we’re again , same great food, great hospitality but with a great new menu for 2024. The highlight and something you must try is the chicken chameli or with lamb. Book ahead to avoid being disappointed if planning eat inside or place an order for collection, the food is just as good.

Family favourite, our family have been enjoying the rajasthan for a number of years. Now some of us have moved to the south West we always visit when in Birmingham. Tonight elebrating our granddad's 89th Birthday and we experienced wonderful service and fantastic food. Great selection of options for vegetarians and children with different palettes mild/spicey. October has finally turned up, it’s cold and wet outside, work drags on. What better way to unwind than good food and beer, served by friendly staff. Always popular in this area, so it is always a good idea to book a table, to avoid be disappointed. I would highly recommend the chicken chameli.

Too busy and too hot! We booked a table for 8pm. Was seated at 8:30. We asked 4 times for the air conditioning to be put on because it was so hot in the building. It never got put on. Lots of unhappy people struggling to eat due to the heat. The manager was a very unhappy looking chap who stood counting his money for 2 hours. Wait times for a drink was 15 minutes before getting a table. Food was delicious as always and we always have take aways from here, but to dine in, never again. We asked for a discount because of the inconvenience and was denied it.

Friday has come round again, now back at work as it’s holiday season. What better way than to get back in the swing with curry from the best local place around. Nothing has changed, still a fast friendly service whether eating in or taking out. Lots of dishes to recommend, this week would recommend the salmon tikka with dall massalla. What is also great at this time is that they’re celebrating their 30th year, with a 30% discount August and September Sunday to Thursday food only. Dine in or collection. With this great offer booking a reservation is highly recommended.

Terrible service, I don't usually write reviews, but it's not the first time. Waiters try to rush you and are quite aggressive, not many restaurants in the area, so they want to get rid of you ASAP! The food is OK but nothing out if this world either. Won't go there again!

Ordered a meal direct from their website - - got a conformation email seconds later showing my order was accepted at 6:14PM for delivery to my address less than 2 miles away. Conformation email from Rajasthan shows they have my address, phone number and email address. As I'm writing this review at 8:40PM I've still not had delivery (nearly 2 1/2 hours later) Our living room overlooks our drive and we have a Ring camera so 100% have not missed any delivery Not used restaurant before and definitely wont be using again

We came to Rajasthan last night, having been many, many times over the last twenty or more years. Why do we keep coming back? Last night, as always, we were greeted like family by the charming manager Islam, service by all the waiters is impeccable and friendly, the menu has a very wide choice, the food is well presented, hot (temperature), served in generous quantities and absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant is immaculately clean, with linen tablecloths and napkins, and always a great atmosphere. Yesterday to start we had salmon tikka and mixed kebab followed by chicken rezella and lamb rezella accompanied by a naan and rice. With a large glass of wine and a pint of Kingfisher, the bill came to less than £40, courtesy of a 25% reduction on all food Monday to Thursday throughout all of 2023. Amazing value for such high quality food and service. In September, Rajasthan celebrates 30 years of serving great food to the area. Manager Islam told us that they will be doing something special to mark the occasion; we will certainly be there and advise everyone to watch their website to be able to join in! Thank you to Islam and all the team for another great evening.

Booked table, when ordering felt rushed to order. When starter came it was just sort of throw on table, before we had had finished poppadoms the waiter was trying to take away from us. Just felt we was been rushed to finish the food and go did not order desserts due to this. When manager asked if all good we told him no but dint seem interested. Got to say this used to be a good restaurant to go to but not anymore, going to a different restaurant from now on

Friday come around all too quickly, we placed our order of chicken tikka bhuna and chicken tikka masala from the Rajasthan, excellent service and excellent food as always. The speed of service and friendly staff always make it stand out way above the competition in the area. Highly recommend to either dine in or takeaway.

Finally end of the week, it’s been one those weeks. No desire to spend time cooking, quick phone and it’s ready to pick up on way home. Quick efficient service as usual, even on a busy night like tonight, inside the place is rammed, standing room only, as you would expect from a well liked quality local restaurant. Booking ahead is always a good idea.

We have used this restaurant for years for eat in and takeaway. However we had family over from USA for a family funeral. We took them here as we always use it. The food was spot on as always we all was enjoying the night until we asked for the bill. Our relative who said he wanted to pay gave the waiter his credit card and paid, on completion of payment was told service charge is not included(so embarrassing) as we always leave a tip on the table as we leave. Our relative just gave £20 as he was embarrassed by this. The next time our American family visit us we will be using another restaurant

Easter weekend, time for a cheeky takeaway from best local curry restaurant. Phoned in as usual, even though it was packed out inside, always book ahead if eating in due to its popularity. The food was finished off within minutes of arriving. Quality of the food and staff still high as ever, always happy to see you as you walk in, have a chat and laugh, always eager to help or offer advice on which food to try if unsure.

I don't know why we ever go to any other curry restaurant. We have been coming to Rajasthan for years and it is always top notch. Yesterday, as usual, we were greeted warmly on arrival, had great friendly and attentive service, stunning food (well prepared and presented, sizzlingly hot and generous in quantity) in great surroundings. Having not been to Rajasthan for a while, I wondered if it was up to its usual high standards. No worries! Great friendly service, excellent food nicely presented, tasty and in generous portions, reasonably priced. Four of us had starters, main courses, naans or rice, poppadums, a couple of beers each - £93....great value.

I visited with two friends. I used to have takeaways from here some years ago before moving out of the area. One of the staff actually remembered me! The food was as good as I remember it but it was more expensive than I had expected; £80 for three people seems rather a lot.

We have been to this restaurant many times and we are always impressed with the level of service and great food. The waiters are always very welcoming and just the right level of attentive without being intrusive. Hussain particularly always goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and to ensure you have everything you need. Highly recommended.

Just had a lamb kurzi for 2, supposedly the best meal in the restaurant, ordered last night for a 24 hour marinade? What a great disappointment. I believe this was a reheated dish from the night before because the lamb was overcooked and dry. What a pity because this was a first visit and will be the last. It was obvious that they had not prepared my request.

The food is delicious. One of our group said it was the best Korma she had ever had. Really really delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The popadom starter came very fast - brilliant. They serve Kingfisher and Kingfisher shandy (and lots more). Their straws are plastic :(. There are toilets which are very nice. After the meal we were given lots of lovely snacks as well as an alcohol shot. Great value for money, perfect portion sizes for a hungry group. Brilliant evening. I highly recommend. Vegetarians options available which another party member enjoyed. Highly highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely evening. They also have discount stamp cards.

Six of us visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday night with people waiting for a table but we had booked which is recommended.Early on there were families with children dining and there was a good mix of customers as the night progressed.Waiting staff were plentiful and attentive and we enjoyed the usual beers,spirits and wine - Kingfisher lager was excellent.Various curries were eaten and I had a mixed balti which I was delighted to see was served in a bowl(in a previous review I did mention that I preferred a bowl rather than a plate with fancy drizzle on and I am claiming credit for this change!).All in all we were very impressed with food quality and service and as the restaurant is in walking distance we will definitely be returning in the near future.

Went on evening early in the week on a recommendation and first impressions were good. Attentive staff, good decor and quick service. Starters were excellent, but the main was a disappointment - it was a chef's special. Not enough meat, too many peppers and far too many onions. Plain naan was simply that.

we have dined in this restaurant for many many years mainly for the quality of the food, we decided to go there at 8-30 on Saturday night and reserved a table as it’s a bit earlier than we would normally arrive and knew it would be busy, we were greeted by a queue of people at the door who were also waiting to be seated in a restaurant that was all ready full, when questioned about the situation we were told to go next door for a drink and come back in half an hour, what a joke, it’s great to see this restaurant doing well as I said we have been going there for such a long time but I’m afraid their greed of taking bookings knowing they can’t honour them will now sadly see us dining elsewhere.

First of all the food at this restaurant is first class, our favourite locally. However, we have become repeatedly disappointed with the service. Twice now we have booked a table to be greeted by an already over full restaurant and told to “go next door for a drink” (and spend money elsewhere?). They seem to be benefiting from the opening of the bar next door (Platform 3, which is excellent by the way). The waiting area is just not designed to accommodate an over booked restaurant. Note to the owners, don’t take a reservation if you don’t intend to honour it, we’ve shared this with you before. You’ve unfortunately now lost very regular patrons, which is a great shame.

We received a warm welcome. We had two poppadums with pickles - a tasty way to start our meal. We ordered a stuffed pepper and prawn puree both of which were delicious. We shared a lamb rogan josh with pilau rice and a well done nan. A very enjoyable meal with really friendly service. My Cobra beer was cold and went well with our meal. Maybe a better white wine would not go amiss. Shall definitely go again - well worth a visit.

Glad to see that our local Indian is still packing them in - even on cold, dank January nights! The poppadoms and accompanying sauces were fresh, and we managed with a couple of mains (chicken tikki balti) and a naan to share. Staff are always friendly even when they are super busy - I do think £5 for a large bottle of water is taking the mickey though..... the beer was cheaper!

Never been here before but went with friends who recommended it. We had a fab evening lovely food in deed. I had chilli chicken murgh masala for main which had a kick but I love Spicey food. We had friends drop in from Scotland on their way south who used to leave here. They requested a “proper curry” as nobody does it the same as Balti land. So we said no where better around here than the Rajasthan. They enjoyed it enough to suggest we eat there again on the return journey. Food and staff excelled as usual.

We've eaten at Rajasthan on a number of occasions without ever leaving a review. The food and service has always been fantastic. With the bar, Platform 3, recently opening next door we have more reason to visit following a couple of drinks in there beforehand!

Was recommended this restaurant by many friends so I went out last Saturday with my family and it was the best decision ever. The food was amazing and the customer service was awesome. I was served by Hassan. He was a lovely and helpful young man. He recommended I get the lamb Tawa and it was very tasty. I even took some home at the end. Definitely coming back again. We attended the restaurant with friends for our after football season team meal. The food was of good quality and plentiful. Had a good night, service was great we will return!

Really disappointed with this place, despite being recommended it. Scallops & Prawns were over cooked reheated. Waited over an hour for starters then main meal came practically straight after. Food was ok & was definitely reheated as rice was hard. I have certainly had much better Indian food. Customer service is seriously lacking from senior management though the waiters are polite and friendly. I wouldn’t ever be going back here again very disappointing overall.
