I’d highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Jaipuri; great portion size, plenty of chicken tikka and lovely a spice level. It certainly hit the spot. I dined at 18:15 and the restaurant was quiet but had packed out by the time I left. Consider a booking if you’re going at peak time.

Nice people, nice place but the food was subpar. The biriyani was extremely oily and served with only a side of very oily vegetable curry. This combination ive never seen before but had it as a means to try new things - not good. The chicken tikka masala was extremely sweet - granted our server did warn us it was going to be like that. They should list it in the dessert section! Cheese Naan was excellent though!!

Located at the intersection of historic India and Vine Streets, Rajasthan II brought together the quaint dining destination coupled with an excellent meal and impeccable service and knowledgable and friendly owner. About the Meal The Mixed appetizer's platter were portioned individually and were recommended which allowed us to try a little bit of their wonderful pakora’s, ribs and other assortments coupled with an amazingly assortment of chutney’s. For the main course we dined on a succulent chicken masala and phenomenal lamb vindaloo dishes. Along with a these mains we had a recommended vegetable dish of Aloo Gobi. We were very pleased with the garlic nan which showed signs of a seasoned chef producing a quality fine experience. We took time for dessert and were not disappointed at all even sharing as it was the just the right amount for such a homemade flavors and shared experience. Special call out on the slow cooked lamb. This was the crown jewel of this meal. Many places cook the taste out of such a meat but the chef took the time to ensure the juices were not watered down by beef broth, so as to maintain the true flavors of the lamb. Then adding to the vindaloo spiciness threw that dish into a category by itself. Talking with the owner was a treat, hearing how the staff has been together for 10-15+ yrs working together to make this restaurant a destination for business gatherings, family meals only made this ‘one of a kind’ location even more rare find in the financial district. The restaurant also came highly recommended by the nearby hotel staff, even though they who have their own restaurants onsite. Tips for anyone coming to Rajasthan II First take the recommendations from the team at the restaurant, you won’t be disappointed with their thoughts and knowing what is best that day. Second ensure reservations at set so that they have the table prepared and ready for your arrival.

One of the worst ever food you can have. The starters were pathetic and dont even ask me about the mains, and its an insult to the term 'Indian cuisine', these people are Bangladeshi and dont even know what Indian cuisine is like. Naan bread was like sofa cushion, why dont they take some training and improve upon. Oh my god, what a waste of money. Never ever again I will visit this place and will strongly advise all my Indian friends not even look at this. Wonderful service, very attentive and polite staff! Upon any questions they were able to give detailed answers and explanations and the food was very nice too. I chose the butter chicken which was quite sweet to my pleasant surprise and very tender, same for the Naam bread! Another pleasant surprise was the small snack served before the main course, which, at other Indian restaurants we've been to, costs a lot (Papadam, if you're curious ;)). All in all I do recommend this restaurant but it has to be said, the mild dishes (like the butter chicken and the korma chicken) are fairly sweet!

Not sure they wanted to take any sort of revenge to India, they named it after Indian State Rajasthan, serving Indian food which is worst Indian food I have ever tried in London or entire Europe. Finally I asked if chef is Indian and they said No, he's from Bangladesh. Wow, why do you it Indian restaurant then,. See the photo, Paneer has red colored, hope my stomach is not upset tomorrow. We ordered Jeera Rice, they served us some kind of Biryani, with Jeera over it. May be Jeera Biryani 🤔 For Indian cuisine sake, Jeera Rice is Plain Rice saute with a bit of Jeera. It has to be just plain. The only thing which was eatable was Naan and Daal fry. Keep your expectations low, or expect Bangladeshi Indian cuisine. Now most interesting part, we were three and staff forced us that we need to order three main course minimum (so we added Chana Masala) .. What a joke. Never coming again here.

Glad to visit the Rajasthan II on a Friday evening. The restaurant is pretty much immaculate and the service was excellent. No problem being given a table without a prior bookings, and the restaurant was about 2/3rds full. This was our first return since that first, brief, lockdown when the place was empty. We both chose the same starter & main course - they just coincided rather than for review reasons! The King Prawn Puree was top notch. For mains we had the Lamb Korma, and both agreed it was one of the finest we'd ever had the pleasure of eating. A side team of Mushroom Bhaji, a dish that almost invariably disappoints me in most places I visit (so why keep ordering it?) but this was really outstanding. The Rice and Naan were good & decent accompaniments. Finished off with two small ice cream desserts that were average fare. The cost, including 12.5% service fee, was just over £100. Given we didn't have much to drink between us (2 beers & 2 soft drinks) this may appear excessive, but in line generally with London dining prices. It was good to go back and see that it appears to be thriving.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel like the public needs to know. I have probably eaten at 200 or more Indian restaurants. This one is by far the worst I’ve been to. The butter chicken was flavorless. It tasted like I was eating cereal. Just a sweet, creamy disaster. The saag paneer also lacked flavor. Their pickle was overly salty. Just terrible. When the waiter asked how the food was, I said it seemed “different” than what I’m used to. He blamed it on me being from the states - entirely not true. I visited a different Indian restaurant the next day, and the food was phenomenal. It’s not a “British” thing. The food was just terrible and NOT authentic. Go somewhere else.

They know their customers at this place – City of London office types who mostly work in financial services, i.e. probably not short of a penny or two and not particularly discerning about what they stick down their mouth and indeed this restaurant caters accordingly – an unadventurous standard menu consisting of bland over-priced dishes. In this day and age the notion of ‘the curry house’ is something of a joke – bloke-centric badly ventilated cramped restaurants that all have pretty much the same menu and are firmly stuck in an early 1990s time-warp. To be fair this place isn’t quite like that, at least not in terms of décor (although it is quite cramped) but the rest fits the aforementioned unfortunate description. Nothing on the menu that we had stands out, in fact everything was rubbish – the biryani featured little lamb meat or chicken, the vegetarian dishes featured few vegetables but lots of sauce, the sizzling prawns (whatever that dish was) were dry, the Dhal too watery…I could go on. The meat didn’t taste at all fresh and overall the food wasn’t nearly authentically spicy enough. This place probably works better for larger groups who are more interested in ordering beer rather than food. The service is quite abrupt…dishes plonked on your table, sometimes the wrong dishes. Downstairs the toilets are truly atrocious. To tell the truth I don’t expect any better from such an establishment but at £57 each (we didn’t even have desserts) this is an overpriced joke. There are plenty of better more authentic restaurants for this type of cuisine at more reasonable prices within walking distance in Whitechapel.

As an Indian I’d deem this place criminal for slaughtering Indian cuisine and serving a disgustingly cheap imitation of it. Only a monkey with an appalling palate, and no taste for authentic Indian food would pay the prices put on their menu a second time. I would reject their food even if they offered me a large sum of money to eat it. I saw a lot of white people here and I truly pity them for eating these dishes which a two year old with a jar of chilies can cook up. I am not the one to criticise businesses from my own country, but this restaurant disgraces what Indian food stands for. Please try other Indian restaurants in the White Chapel area.

Me and my partner booked a table for 7:30pm. When we arrived, no one welcomed us, I was just stared at by all of the staff members. A member of staff looked at me and just said ‘2’, then started shouting to his boss in his native tongue and took us to a table. believe they thought we were walk ins as they didn’t even ask us any questions. Not even a ‘how are you?’. As soon as we sat down a chutney tray was placed in front of us with two poppadoms and the staff member walked away. Not saying a word. We did not order this and there was no explanation of whether we had to pay or if it was complimentary. Thankfully it was complimentary. When our food order was taken the staff member tried to upsell us side dishes and again was just very rude. The food was okay. Really nothing special. After we finished our food one of the servers came and started to pull the table cloth off our table and we had to lift things up for him to take it away. He didn’t even tell us he was going to do it or ask us to lift our glasses he just came and started to fold it up whilst me and my partner were talking. When asked if we wanted desert the server asked “desert - yes/no?” Again very impolite and rushed. It felt like they couldn’t get us out of there fast enough. Well in fact, in total we were there for 40 minutes. I would never go to this place again and would highly recommend people to avoid disappointment. Service was good and attentive, at times it felt attentive almost to the extent of being intrusive. The environs of the restaurant were comfortable and not noisy or crowded. Very nice indian. Friendly staff and good food. Would be a 5 star but at the end of our meal, when there was still one person eating, the waiter took the tablecloth from underneath them as if he wanted to hurry us along.

We visited the Gunpowder Restaurant on Greek Street in Soho as part of their India Club monthly dining experience. The 6 course menu showcased Hyderabad cuisine. The Kid Goat Keema Lukhmi was excellent along with the Chicken 65, and the Kakori Mutton Seekh and the Sofiyani Dum Biryani with grilled Mirchi ka Salan. Excellent food and excellent value.

Its closed. Thank heavens. Dirty place. Oily food. Hideous. Had a photo of Princess Diana in the window so as to lure in punters. In the photo Diana is running away from this place.

The idea is interesting, small plates but interesting and very well cooked. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable which is a very big plus. We've been a couple of times and will go again.

Average given the price. Nothing particularly bad, but given the price the food quality was about average and nothing really stood out as wow, as you would hope for somewhere charging £50/head. On the face of it the decor looks ornate and impressive, but actually when you looked closer the wood panelling looked tired, and in places may have had black mould on the edges of the mouldings. The atmosphere was also somehow cold and lacking warmth and class — it is possible this was due to a poor choice of lighting, mostly overhead and cold in temperature, and not enough side lighting and of a warmer colour temperature. It was also actually cold! It is not clear why the air conditioning would be on and set to such a low temperature in October. It was too cold for my 74 year old mother, but eventually they did provide a small space heater, which greatly improved things. The staff were friendly and helpful — i.e. with the space heater —and the manager honoured the price I was quoted online, which disagreed with the price in the menu in the restaurant.
