Raj Of India in Havering

Ordered a delivery at around 17:50, called the restaurant after 1 hour, they seemed confused whether they had the order but eventually found it, waited a further 30mins for the food to arrive, the driver held up the bag as if to say look its hot, well it wasn't, but as I paid but debit card nothing I could do and he walked away. Probably one of the worst Indian meals I have ever eaten, bland, Luke warm, and tasteless. Needless to say it ended up in the bin, if you are thinking of ordering food from this restaurant, think again.

Not my local, but would always travel to have a meal with my family & friends. well worth a visit.

The food took 1 hr and 45 mins to come and when it did it was freezing cold

Ordered a delivery by phone, we were told we would be the first delivery of the day. One hour and 45 mins later it finally turned up after a phone call and them lying to us. Food was cold so we told the driver to take it back, he tried to argue that the bottom of the bag felt hot, of course it did in a foil dish. We touched the food and it was lukewarm at best. Not a big order so no excuse for the delay. Never again!

Raj of India is a fantastic Indian restaurant. Whilst my other half and I usually order out, I highly recommend eating inside too. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent. I always have the lamb rogan with no onion and mushroom rice and it’s always lovely. If you like peppers, that’s a dish I’d recommend. My other half gets the butter chicken with mushroom rice and again, thoroughly enjoys it.

Just had a delivery from here, and as usual very good - although the popadoms look like someone had been eating them! Paid for two, had a bag of crumbs delivered!

They used quality ingredients. Everything from the naga chicken to the mixed grill was beautifully cooked. The Food arrived hot. Will be back again. Highly recommended.

We ordered 2 Onion Bhajais starters with Chicken Korma Pilau rice and Chicken Madras and rice with 2 Naan bread and 2 Poppodums. When it arrived it piping hot and very tastie. I will be ordering here again soon! I wont go nowhere else now!

4 tiny prawns in "batter" does not qualify as a £6 starter , food was bland ,no little pot of raita or salad . prawn patia was quite tasteless chicken shasliks lacked flavour and seasoning . they charged more than the prices in the new menu that came through my door on that day. very poor and disappointing home delivery meal :-(

Excellent takeaway, fast delivery too. Hard to beat these guys obviously a Top Chef.

On a few occasions now have messed our order up, no apologies either. Had to remind them our free meal, when delivered both our portions were small compared to the previous deliverys. Ashame as the meals are ok but customer service very poor.

I have been using this take away for around 2 years now very happy will level of service and food is always grea tstaff always friendly I will not use any other Indian takeaway keep up the good work gentleman

Was recommended this restaurant so thought we would give it a try but was very disappointed. Food very bland and lamb was tough and chewing. I mentioned this when waiter took out plates away as was told thats how it's suppose to be 😳 and to try something different if I wanted soft meat!

Food was very boring no flavour or taste, washed the so called Ceylon sauce off and gave to our dog he seemed to like it.

Just moved back into the area and needed to find a good Indian Restaurant. Tonight, We decided on this one and so glad we did. The food was superb and the staff friendly and attentive. The £14.95 banquet meal deal which is available Sunday to Thursday was a fantastic bonus. We will definitely be visiting here again.

We’ve ordered from here before and, while they managed to forget one of our mains, the food was good. Today’s effort, however, was the worst take away curry I’ve ever had. We ordered a chicken and a fish starter and a prawn and fish main, and nothing had any flavour whatsoever. The Ceylon curry was mildly spicy, but that was as close to any kind of flavour as it got. The peshwari naan was overcooked, dry, hard and lacking filling. After a crappy week, we just wanted to enjoy a nice curry, but that turned out to be even more crappy. I’ll never order from this place again.

Our first visit was vastly different form our last visit this evening. The meat on the mixed kebab starter was hard and blackened, not cooked, but thoroughly cremated! The waiter then argued with me over the meat, inspecting it and shuffling the pieces of burnt meat, around my plate with a fork in front of me, then returned later saying that the chef required 'proof' of the inedible meal, after they had taken our plates back to the kitchen! I paid £51 for a meal I could not eat. I won't be making that mistake again! We ordered mushroom bahji's (one course) and received bowls of greasy mushrooms onions and peppers in a liquid sauce, not resembling anything like a typical bahji. Usually a cornflour base fried fritter-like onion snack. They are offering a five (5) course meal for £13.95, which I thought was reasonable, until I realised they include popadoms and nan bread as separate courses. It seems like they've only smartened up the restaurant, although they've still not addressing the overall quality of the food served. They simply haven't really improved, where it counts most! I'm not surprised they only received two stars from the food standards agency in 2017! and doesn't seem like much has improved since.

I ordered a takeaway from this indian restaurant for the first time on a Saturday evening at 6.30pm and was told the order would take 45 minutes to arrive. I had to phone the restaurant at 7.30pm, as the food had not arrived and was told the driver had left with my order. I phoned again at 7.50pm, as the order had still not arrived and was told there had been a mistake. Although they apologised, it took around 1 hour and 45 minutes for the food to arrive and they only gave a discount of £2.25 for this error and poor experience. Some of the food was nice, but the salad was just onions and the onion bajas were very chewy and hard. I would certainly not recommend or use this restaurant again.

Visited the Raj during one of its Sunday to Thursday Banqueting nights, where 5 courses from the main menu is being offered for the reasonable price of £14.95 per person.The restaurant is off fair size and layout and makes for a welcoming and comfortable environment. Upon arrival the staff are as equally welcoming and attentive.I opted for a Mixed Kebab starter, with a Chicken jalfrezi with Special Fried Rice for my main, and a side dish of Sag Aloo. The portions off food whilst not being over generous were adequate. The quality of the food whilst not being poor, wasn’t up there compared to other Indian restaurants I have visited in the past.In all, I would rate this restaurant as average, no particular bad points, but equally nothing also outstanding you would feel compelled to write about.

We use to go to the curry garden until we got fed up of waiting to be served and waiters on there phones The meal here was fine good service even thou very busy. Only thing I missed was a complamenty drink after meal. Nice red wine good selection Food was not as hot as could have been. But then again very nice

I have ordered from every curry house in the collier row area and Raj is undoubtedly number 1ButI wanted to say that I've been ordering once a week + for five years and today, is the best I've ever had. My prawn madras and coconut rice is the best ive had from you lot. Thick and creamy, spicy, full of flavor. Unreal today. 11/10Thanks Raj. #1

Had the banquet deal plus a few extras added. Even though the restaurant was busy. The staff managed extremely well. Everything arrived in a timely fashion. Food was fresh. The turnover must have been higher this week. I had the tandoori mixed kebab starter. Lamb madras, pilau rice, keema nan and onion bhajis. 2 pints of mongoose lager. Well worth a visit, if you have never been to Collier row for a curry. Bill for 3 greedy men, including 6beers. £73.

Mine and my partners favourite place to go for a meal, don’t have a bad word to say about this place! The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and is our go to for date nights, but would also be lovely for family meals. Food is always delicious and staff are so friendly!

Having been to this restaurant many many times I was really surprised how busy the restaurant was. There were too many customers and not enough staff to cope.

Stopped off at Collier Row for a bite to eat an chose this place. My prawn puri was good with a fluffy puri. Main was a new dish that looked very bright but had a nice medium hot and sour flavour. Had some essential beers on a hot evening. Service was fine, decent value too.

I have visited twice in just over a month for the banquet evening meal and have been very happy with the food and service provided. On both occasions I have visited with my wife and our son.

Been here on several occasions with large parties of people. Once there was thirty in our group. This never phases the staff. Everyone is served and well looked after. No waiting about, they cope so well. The food is always fantastic, nice and hot too! I would say this restaurant is outstanding. Awesome!!

I booked a meal here with some friends for the first time having lived in the area for a couple of number years. I don’t why I haven’t been here before but I guess with other restaurants nearby you stick to what you know.

I won’t use these again, there delivery is never on time. A couple of times, they were over an hour later than they promised. I’ve given them a couple of chances to see if it was one off, it was’nt. It’s not worth the agg, the food is mediocre. Try somewhere else, at least you might get it delivered on time.

Fuimos entre semana y aunque había gente comiendo que no estaba muy concurrido. Solemos ir a Curry Jardín unas puertas, pero pensamos que habría un cambio. . . ¡Qué error! Yo soy vegetariana, así que todos los platos que pedí eran de gambas. Eran minúsculas y hard rock como balas de goma. El biryani era simplemente arroz con el rock duro diminuto langostinos, no había ningún extra algunas cosas que aunque fue cubierta en perritos de tomate y pepino por una razón sólo conoce el chef! Los platos que pedimos no tenía guarnición en ellas y se presentaron mal y los Massala-jeera salsa tenía un la piel! Tuvimos que pedir bebidas como los camareros aunque agradable, que no se molestaron en preguntar si queríamos cualquier. No volvería

Fuimos allí como 2 parejas. Algunas cosas estaban mal como la parrillada mixta pero realmente no se que porquería que. El Masala de paneer probado de espinacas y queso de coco no. Mi a tarka chole probado fuertemente de ajo ningún equilibrio de sabor en todos los ajos bazofia saborizados. El al vindaloo. era una broma. De nuevo no tenia saldo un montón de hot curry en la salsa de chili en polvo. El personal era lo suficientemente amable, pero pagué por la comida no robot y no entregar para mí lo siento chicos
