Railway Club in Coventry

We have been here many times, it’s been fabulous and I have recommended it to many people however it has now changed hands and unfortunately it was appalling and we won’t return. Now ordered through a hatch rather than waitress service which in itself is okay but the food was not good. everybody in our party said it was one-dimensional taste & white hot heat ( billed as medium spiced) .Chewy fatty lamb. Chicken was okay at best. The menu has changed which again is fine but the choices are not good, the side orders consist of five different types of chips cheesy chips normal chips et cetera which gives you an idea …. This is such a shame because it was our go to.

Went here last night with some friends. This place has been taken over by Khushi Grill and we were looking for to a few beers and some food. I do have to say that the food at this place is not consistent at all. We ordered the medium mix grill which was bought out within about 5 mins of ordering. Our mixed grill had 1/2 a kebab on it. Ordering food can take sometime (which isn't an issue) but once you've done so and gone to the bar to the order a drink, your sizzler is waiting for you. Same issue when we ordered 2 curries. Out within 5 mins. Curries lacked flavour. Not authentic at all Feels like they are to turning tables around really quick. Not for me.

Not impressed at all. The only things that were nice were the poppadoms and the naan. Ordered poppadoms but within 4 or 5 mins after the mains arrived so didn't get time to eat them. Tried to order king prawn bhoona but was told no even though they do chicken and lamb bhoona? Had to settle for chicken tikka which was basically some chunks sliced off one of them chicken tikka kebabs served in the chippy. Lots of small bits of chicken made into chunks and tasted just the same. The onion bhaji tasted like they had come from sainsbury and been reheated. Not impressed at all. Not for us and will go to.proper Indian restaurant next time.

Very disappointed indeed, been coming here for a while now and it's been taken over by the Khushi Grill. I've visited a few times since it's take over and too be fair the curries are not bad. However if you like lamb then don't be surprised if you don't return. 2 times before this visit I ordered keema rice and it hardly contained any keema. So tonight I order vindaloo and garlic fried rice and a keema nan. The curry was ok to be fair but the keema looked like it was watered down keema or food colouring. I though the keema may of slipped to one part of the nan as it can do some times, so I pull the nan apart to find that it contains no keema like we know it. So I keep two pieces behind so I can tell the owner. He excepts that this is not acceptable but offers no refund but asks if would like a replacement, I've eaten my food by this point and decline that offer and continue to ask why is this coming out the kitchen like this. The owner responds by saying I've got a new chef and he's sent it out, no way has this chef got anything to gain by sending keema out like this and tells him you don't like criticism do you as he was smirking whilst I was exposing his lies. I've since found out that this so called new chef is a co owner so they clearly are trying to lie to people. I said to to the owner of the price of lamb has gone up pass that onto the customer not paste on watered down lamb. The owner is deluded I'm afraid and the place has gone down hill dramatically since the ownership change. I will not be returning under any circumstances.

Four of us have been meeting up here every couple of months for a good while now. This was our first visit since the new owners took over, and we were a little nervous having seen the bad reviews on here. We needn't have been. Our reserved booth was waiting for us, and one of the staff soon had our individual TV on the desired channel. We knew that table service for drinks had been discontinued so it was no hardship to take it in turns for a short walk to the bar. Once we had limbered up it was time for the food, and again you have to go up to order and pay immediately. This isn't ideal, and is one of the reasons not to give a 5 star rating. When the meals arrived they were all generous portions and very tasty indeed. No complaints at all, and no ill effects the next day. Unfortunately it took a while for the table to be cleared, but when it was every last crumb and droplet was wiped clean. We'll be back there in October without hesitation.

Took a business colleague here. Lamb Curry and mix grill was amazing. Friendly and efficient service even though they were very busy

If you used to go here...brace yourself for a disappointing meal. Side dishes are great if you like chips...what used to be sides are now main vegetarian meals. Bland curries with poor service. Plenty of others in town, this is now off the list.

This message sed to be an amazing place to go. It has recently changed hands. No waitress service which is ok. But the food is awful. I ordered Chicken Tikka, they delivered an enormous amount but it was awful Chicken thighs. Chicken Tikka previously was breast meat. I do not recommend, cheap, tacky and very poor food, no spices whatso ever.bi will never go back and advised friends and family to go elsewhere.

This place was our number one for a family curry night. It has changed over management and honestly it pains me to say the food was dreadful. We barely touched it. The two staff serving tables were lovely and tried their best but the food and overall experience was awful. So disappointing as we loved this place.

Since had the new manager a loud large blonde girl the place has gone downhill.she speaks to customers awful and her work friends. Not sure what the owner thinks employing this one I’ve heard a lot of bad things about this girls service.the food was amazing though so can’t complain on that.but get rid of her as it’s worst decision and worst manager the place has had..

Wow! I bring a friend into Coventry to sample our hospitality and what a mistake I made this evening. The good people of Coventry know a thing or two when it comes to curry and having a good time. Yet I reserve a table and well everything is okay to start off with. Nice and clean but rather loud. The food arrives and well it blows our heads off! I am 53 years old, a complete curry freak and my wife is a Punjabi Sikh, but the food we got was far too hot! I brought this to the staff's attention and was patronised basically. Spoken to by the staff like I was an idiot! Apparently, I should have asked the chef to remove the offending heat from the meal...yeah because taking chilli away from a meal is so easy isn't it! I explained that to have the food at the 'chilli rating' advertised would be the way to do business....legally. They just don't care, service is very bad, the staff talk to you like you are the lowest of the low. If you want a trip back to the 1980's where the curry was too hot and awful and you drank plenty of beer to make up for it and staff are defensive and hostile...well come here! In the middle of a recession when money is tight, why would anyone want to come here and spend money on being treated like a dog! Totally unacceptable, I look forward to seeing you out of business like so many other restaurants that ripped off the people of Coventry!

Omg, ordered water and alcohol before food, alcohol came but no water, it ame after food but couldn't get a second jug to have with desserts so decided to leave, they lost over £50 quid, wasn't really that busy either, food was good and waitress was nice, just crap service

Me along with my Indian friends visited this place and ended up having Indian food , the worst mistake ever! The food was disgusting, especially the biryani was so dry and hard to swallow and if ur from india you would not call this rice biryani. We went and spoke to the chef and he had a bad attitude and stated that it’s what he’s been serving for all for years and we had to deal with it ! 1 star is what it deserves for the food. For drinks and other dry snacks it’s fine but not for Indian food for sure .

The food here, especially the biryani is beyond disgusting. It’s so flaky and dry and the chicken is stale. When we spoke to the chef about it he argued with us that he’s been making biryani for 25 years and that no one complained and snubbed us off. The starters weren’t great as well. Have no idea how this place has a 4+ rating, doesn’t even deserve a 2.

We normally love going to the railway for a treat or to celebrate a birthday, we were a table of 9 last night celebrating our mums birthday and we all left disappointed as things have changed so much On arrival our waitress asked what drinks and many popadoms we wanted, we were waiting on another two joining us so asked for 5minutes When they arrived she came back over to take our order but told us she wouldn’t be doing drink orders we’d have to go to the bar and pay for them separately?? Through out our time there the waitress seemed inattentive, not once greeted us with a smile, asked if we needed anything, how our meals were, made any attempt to speak to us, or even made eye contact, honestly felt like we were an inconvenience to her and came across really rude Food was lovely as always so no fault there Once we had finished with our meals we had to ask three times for our table to be cleaned down so we could light the cake -first time was told yes well get it sorted -second attempt we were told our waitress is on break so well have to wait until shes finished to have our table cleaned down ( even though there was plenty of staff up near the bar) -third attempt I had to go up to the bar where our waitress was standing chatting with colleagues, honestly so frustrating, our table was close to removing the plates our selves, to try and continue with our celebrations And finally paying the bill - no more bringing it over, no after dinner mints, it was you have to go to the bar to pay, which seemed rushed when trying to look at what we’ve been charged for Overall we left disappointed with the service and wont be returning for a very long time

We had a takeaway and were really disappointed. The onion bhaji’s weren’t fresh, we had 3 different curries which were all swimming in oil. One of them was supposed to be a passanda, which the sauce is made with cream, yoghurt and almonds. This sauce was brown! And the naan breads were flat, cold and lifeless. Really disappointed as this used to be the place to go for a good curry. We won’t be going there again.

Fabulous service from start to finish … Having eaten here several time I always knew the food would be good but catering for 120 guests you wouldn’t expect the same high standard not one complaint from all my guests everyone said how great the food was and how much better it was being served in preference to sausage rolls and cheese sandwiches….. 5* plus thanks again for making our daughter 21st birthday so special (thanks Maria) Richard & tracey

If you to the railway, you should go for the BBQ Chicken Pizza alone. The other Pizzas are great, but BBQ chicken is the best.

Really impressed with the new delivery service via Foodhub. Food arrived hot and tasted great. Arrived very quickly but could still tell it was fresh. Have always eaten in the restaurant, never been disappointed, delivery driver was polite. Will definitely be using this service again!

Never been before. Group of four, Nice and clean made welcome and the food was fresh and exactly as described on the menu. Value for money would definitely go again.

Beautiful food been here many times and will continue to return. Kids had pizza and chips I had curry was beautiful and reasonably priced one of my favourite places to go x

Went here for family birthday after waiting over half hour for our food the waiting staff did not seem to know which curry was which relying on ourselves to recognise which one we ordered, they missed off three of our orders altogether we even had...

Our party of 8 adults regular get together. After our poppadums,and relishes, chutneys, etc...Some had tikka, some had korma,some had biryani, some had grill,and it all arrived at the same time, and it all was piping hot , with generous portions, and was delicious ....

Average food at best! Rude staff. The best thing about the place is their drink prices. The new horseshoe and crow definetely better places to visit for better quality food.

I have visited the railway on many occasions and always found it to be a lively friendly place to pass away time with friends. However on this visit my friends and I were not so impressed by cost. Nothing had changed with regards to the staff who are lovely and couldn't do enough, main courses which were excellent, prices of drinks to be expected were expensive, but £6.50 for 4 poppedoms and some very very very mediocre sauces, no mango chutney just a watery substitute, same with cucumber dip and a spoonful of onions. I think the railway ought to look at what it has to offer, in what is only after all a sports bar, converted from a social club not a curry house restaurant. Not very impressed

We had a great time at the railway tonight. The staff are always friendly professional and polite. The food was excellent quality and delivered promptly. Always a pleasure and the best curry in town..

Great food great value. I had the tandoori mixed grill and it was sublime and the portion was sizeable. Wonderful

happened to attend a party at their party hall; I am sure the host planned and ordered food from the menu, but whatever was served was not up to the mark.

Very good food, and drinks are reasonable priced, your looking at £65 for 4 people including starters not drinks. The staff are fairly pleasant, there are certain staff that do let the place down with bad attitude. Will continue coming.

I along with 12 others will never eat in this place again,the food was worse than bland,it is so over priced and the size of the portions are laughable,No disrespect to the staff as I think there students trying to earn a couple of extra pound but they just looked lost or didn’t know what to say when they were pulled up about the food.The best thing about this place was when I walked out of it.

We have been going here for a number of years now as the food is not to bad. But in the last year the prices have gone up more than other curry restaurants in Coventry. we go as a big group of lads that all work for JLR once a month. We visited the railway on 16/11/18 for a meal and at the end of the night we was presented with the bill. As you do we split the bill between the nine of us thinking it was a bit over the top but never questioned it. after speaking to each other when we got back to work on the Monday we got there menu up on the internet and worked it all out and found we had all been overcharged between £10 and £15 each for the food that we had received. We have spent a lot of money in this restaurant over the years so it go's without saying we will not be going back here again.

Been to The Railway quite a lot over the years. Always with a big group of (between 10 and 20) workmates from JLR. 10 of us went on Friday 16th November for maybe our 5 or 6th visit this year. Always found the staff helpful and friendly, but the curry has always been cheap and cheerful.

Visited with friends as part of a monthly Curry Club reviewing restaurants in the local area. There were 4 of us and we had a starter of a mixed grill which we were told would be sufficient for 4. It was the smallest mixed grill if unidentifiable meats I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. The main course was a lamb and chicken dish as well as a vegetable curry. The dishes would be best described as 'slop'. Flavourless and ridiculously coloured. The masala chips were oven chips with chilli powder sprinkled over the top. The tandoori roti was dry and unbuttered. The raita was literally poured out of a shop bought container with a few squares of cucumber. The bill for 4 was over £70. Our order was incomplete meaning we had to wait over 15 minutes to be served and an additional 20 minutes to get our drinks. This is despite there being no other diners in the restaurant. If you're thinking of going for a curry in the Coventry area, I would strongly advise against going here.

Eaten here regularly, food, decor and staff very pleasant. Gluten Free options available. Good knowledge of GF requirements by staff. High standard of good on every occasion. Have taken friends out on several occasions, never disappointed.

Booked here for a large family party of 30.staff friendly. Lager tasted awful which was a big disappointment. Toilets were grubby with lots of drug activity after 7pm. Food was overpriced. Same prices as a proper curry house elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend.

Always great curry in there. However, recent 30% increase in price. New prices stated on menu but regulars always order the same food so didn't find out until we paid. Couldn't see any signs to say there was an increase in prices. Staff are however lovely and curries good. Not going again due to managers lack of transparency on prices and staff paid very low wages!!

Went here for a curry last night with a friend before a gig at the Arches Snooker and Music venue around the corner. Great service, great food and not bad prices. Would eat here anytime.

Visited here in May in a group of 13 (11 adults & 2 kids) we should have checked before we booked but they couldn’t accommodate the vegans in our group with curries which was a real shame, the guy who served us was great, bit of an unfriendly lady who helped served the curries (and clearly didn’t know what they were herself and kept having the ask the guy which took longer to get all the food out) I had the lamb rogan josh which was lovely - will try again one day but maybe just a small party

Loved the Chicken Tikka Balti. Best curry had in ages. Was here watching football and catch up with old school friend. The only thing could say as a negative they missed our poppadoms

Looking for somewhere to eat near our hotel we came across this restaurant that looks very unassuming and unwelcoming from the front but appearances can definitely be deceptive. This is an enormous bar/restaurant serving quality food without a fuss.

Been here before but not for a couple of years, thought id give it another go. We had good service and the food is good but the only thing I would moan about which is important is I only had 4 pieces of meat in my curry that to me is not good enough. I should have complained but as I was with a big party I didn't want to course any hassle.

Lovely little place You can’t moan at any of their prices for the portions they give you. Tvs next to your chairs always a bonus for kids. Everyone friendly. My daughter demolished their cheese pizza in minutes that’s her fav. Can’t fault it whatsoever

Had two meals there this month (one in the restaurant and one take away). Both were very greasy, tasteless and very very red! It is almost as if there is one pot of sauce and all the dishes are covered in it!

The last time that I had been to the Railway Club in Coventry was probably about five years ago. What a surprise I had today when I went there for a family gathering to celebrate my son Ciarans 25th wedding anniversary to his wife Sally. Last time that I went there I was Jiving to some great bands rock'n roll bands from the fifties. The place has completely changed now and to be honest for the better. Today there would have been probably 40 of us including children. The staff could not have been more helpful, the place was very well laid out and if you were a sports fan there were plenty of screens to have a look at. Not normally my kind of scene, but today everything seemed to be perfect with my sons and grandsons keeping up with all the scores on the sports. After the waitresses came and took our orders for food everything worked like clockwork and we were soon tucking in to our various starters. Main courses and puddings arrived with similar expertise. To be perfectly honest I never expected the food to be that good for the prices, but I was totally wrong. All the food was superb and I canvassed everyone in the party to get a view. I can honestly say that I have never been to a Restaurant anywhere in this country that offers better value. Furthermore, Not sure how many years I have to go back in paying £2.50 for a pint of Guinness. The menu here is huge, the ambience is great and I cannot wait to get back here with my family for the craic.

As a group of guy's from work we always celebrate each others birthday's with a visit to the Railway. As our next planned trip out wasn't until January we decided to make It the venue for our Christmas get together and once again we had another great night out.

Manager is worst I've seen!place run badly only good thing was a nice curry and the bar staff!!i have visited several times and do not want as soon as walk in a waiter in my face asking me what I want!let me sit down!found red hairs in my dinner assume it's managers as she had red hair!she is very abrupt and rude to her staff and customers.not a family place

Had a really nice time here recently, good choice of food, something for everyone. Party of 14 all served together which was great.Very reasonable prices. Tables to cater for large parties or small tables of 4 in booths with TV,s. Not my choice but I,m sure the TV can be turned off. The decor is very modern and very plain but will certainly go back for a curry.

This is a popular place on a Saturday evening. I mainly drink here after a Cov City Game but have also eaten here a few times before.

Met here few weeks ago before concert at the Arches with a mate I was at school with. I heard good reports about this place from several people. It didn't disappoint. Served Magners too which is a bonus as you can hardly get this in pubs in Coventry.Curry was excellent!

Really well priced food, good priced beer and friendly service. The mixed grill is tremendous! It does get busy, so you sometimes have to catch the waiters eye. 4 people can eat and drink for around £60 (4 beers, popadoms, naan, curry and a side each)

My friend and I decided on popping for a curry last night after a few beers. We looked at a few places that were within walking distance of the city centre and after the more popular and better ones seemed fully booked (odd for a place like Coventry, are there any?) we decided on a return to this dump. We last ventured in about two months prior to last night and the service is absolutely appalling. The staff don't seem to give a toss. One waitress last night (she's in her 50's with blonde hair and glasses) literally through the menus at us as she walked past, huffing under he breath. I wanted to get up and speak to her but thought 'why bother?'Also, on arrival we were confronted by a waiter who asked 'what are you drinking?' Not bad service but we were about 10ft from the door and literally walking through the door!!!!The food was very average to say the least. When you order a chicken tikka masala that says it is hot you expect it to be hot. It wasn't very mild and the curry was very oily. The naan was tough to eat and the rice was stuck together. Word to the management: sack the waitress for the worst customer service ever.Replace some of the current staff with people who really want to work. We won't be back #curry

Situated in a social club setting with an open kitchen. Have been a few times with family, and though the food has always been ok (not bad, not amazing) the service has always been extremely poor, waiting staff seem to have a superiority complex, and give the impression that they are doing you a favour either fitting you in for a table, or serving you. One chap in particular was extremely rude when we asked for the bill....needless to say we didnt tip, and wont be going back.

This used to be a lovely place to eat I think it has got too big and lost some of its characteristics and service. The food is not as good as it was before sorry we won't be back.

After hearing from friends that this was a good place for a curry I booked a table for 11 people to celebrate my daughters birthday. We had to leave a deposit of £50 and we were given a nice big round table. We got served drinks quick for the first couple of rounds and the food was OK very tasty but just about warm. The owner came to our table a couple of times and asked if we required any further drinks which at the time we did not but then after our meals I asked 3 times to order another round of 11 drinks and was told they would come back and take our order they never did so we decided to settle the bill and move onto another place their loss. Not the best curry house in the area and I won't be returning in a hurry.

Just back, crowded for a Monday night, staff attentive and good atmosphere. Food full of fresh herbs and spices.

For a place to be as busy as this they must be doing something right. We found the food to be very good, nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking is not easy but shouldn't put you off going as it's very good value for money

Over the last 3-4 years I've been going about 4 or 5 times a year with various family and friends groups, the food was very good until about 18 months ago when the prices went up considerably and the portion control went on over drive.Probably my last visit was last night, we went in, hadn;t book - we rarely do and it was quite busy. The waiter pointed us towards an unoccupied booth and we went and sat down. After about 10 minutes we managed to attract the attention of a waitress who was asked several questions about what beer they had and didn't seem able to answer any of them. The drinks we ordered came about 5 minutes later and were more or less thrown onto the table and the waitress disappeared before we could ask for a menu. We saw some on the side so helped ourselves.After about 20 minutes and after asking 3 members of staff if we could order a 4th that we managed to flag down finally took our order. The staff do seem to have a habit of just vanishing into thin air and congregating around the kitchen area and not actually doing any serving. The food came, it was warm but pretty bland and all more or less looked the same, despite everyone ordering something different. It's nothing special any more, the DJ was playing some random music at full pelt and each booth has its own TV, so they were blaring away. So don't expect a relaxing meal.The staff seem to do a lot of running around but there is little in the way of customer service, the food is not what it was, the prices have gone up significantly and the management seem disinterested.Also we've been charged for drinks that weren't ordered in the past, the bill looked ok last night but be careful.

Over 150 family and friends were invited to my 70th, in the superb refurbished function room at the rear of the large restaurant. As it was a Saturday night Mal, the owner, rightly advised that those wishing to eat, before the party started, must pre-book as it was always busy. How right was he ! What an atmosphere there was, the tables were occupied by what could only be described as a cross-section of the human race, all smiling and enjoying food and drinks of fantastic quality at amazing, value for money, prices. Not one of our meal parties, at different tables and sitting times, had any negative comment about the food or service and will all re-visit. I thank the owner, manager and staff for making my evening so memorable and I will be back!

Nice curries but not all feel or look healthy. Nice for a club meal but not a "night out" meal. Waiters are lovely and friendly.Drinks well priced as you would expect from a club.

Booked online for 6 people paid ddeposit 5 pounds each when we arrived they did not even have a table for us no one new what was going on. The Guy is a total ker. Wont be using you much...... waiters are useless.

Absolutely shocking was disgusting and like a working mans club! Falsely advertised as a bar and grill and in fact it's takeaway/Indian! Like a pure nightmare. We didn't finish any of our food all we're half eaten. The steak looked like cheap dog food. Curry looked like slop. Just pure let down! The staff just threw the plates on the tables and shouted out the meals. Frozen steak. Just wanted to run out and leave. Also the toilets we're rank. Would recommend not going here.

Food was as usual delicious and the staff were so helpful when some of the party found their food too spicy. Always busy with families couples and groups. Love it

Been here a few times. Food is good for the price just shame about the staff who can't seem to get anything right even if it's just two people. Rude and Don't want to be there. Leave your job if you hate it that much. Get stressed before I even eat my meal. So final and last time I went we didn't even get greeted. We asked a gent if there's a table we can eat he justto shouted DID YOU BOOK? We said no. He just shooked his head angrily and walked away he didn't return. We found a seat, no one even acknowledge us then we asked for asked menu.whilst we was there I notice other people got greeted and seated straight away. We sat there for another 20 minutes. Still no one.

We were looking for somewhere nice to eat and we were told to try the railway club It was nice and spacious with excellent food and friendly staff. It was packed when we came in which is always a good start. Only downside was that there was a large plasma television screen right beside the toilets and you have to pass in front of it to get to the toilets As it was a big match night it got a few murmurs from disgruntled match fans!! but out from that a great place to eat and not overly pricey

There was 8 of us 6 order curries two of us ordered steak we ordered starters also we sat at 8:15 it was not busy we then waited until 21:25 our starter still was not out we went and asked where it was they then turned up with starters and mains all together the curries were all fine the steak looked and smelt like dog food it looked like it had already been eaten it was horrible they took it away we ended up just eating chips .if you want a good curry go there do not eat off the English menu .

I recommend this restaurant to lots of people, Normal waiters weren't here, service was so slowHad to ask 3 times for our order to be taken, when the food arrived 1 main course was missing (basic waiting skills) if 6 people why 5 main meals ???? Spoke to the manager - happy with her response otherwise it would have been a 1 star I will return

We hired the large function room at the back of the venue for a funeral reception this week. They provided a fabulous buffet with a wide choice of savoury food and delicious cakes. The bar was very reasonably priced and the service was really good.

Have eaten here a few times also had takeaways found them to be very reasonable, if you have a large group they have a very nice round table, probably best to book ahead if you want this table.

Meal spoiled by horrid waiter Naz skinny guy with glasses. If you get him ask for some1 else. Food ok. No longer cheap. Loads better out there.

Absolutely love this place! Never a bad curry! By far the best place to go. Great food, service and price. Excellent for special occasions, caters for large groups. Booths even have own tv's.

From outside it’s quite non-descript and looks like a working man’s club.As soon as one enters, the size of the place is overwhelming. On the side walls are individual cubicles for four or more people and surprisingly each cubicle has its own individual TV set on the wall - If you do not want to miss out on football on your night out. In the corner is typical working club atmosphere - dart board and beer swilling darters.There is good seating in the restaurant including large rooms to hold meetings.It has long bar and the array of beers is good at the bar. The owner is very friendly and so are the bar staff. As the venue is large the noise level can be high. But that adds to ambiance of Indian eatery. Do not expect romantic candle lit dinner for two. Food is cooked at left hand side back open kitchen, one can see the chefs in action. Also glean that the kitchen is clean. We normally have our club meeting at the venue and are allocated a large room.Orders are placed at outset and food arrives half way through the meeting, Papa dams with assorted chutneys. We normally order several different dishes that comprise chicken Tikah, Dal Tarkah ( lentils), vegetarian platter, mince and meat curries. Partaken with Nans and Tandoori Chapattis. The Indian cuisine is excellent authentic food of North India and very well prepared by the chefs. I recommend eating communally like Indians, so that everyone has share of different dishes. We decided to have our monthly meeting here simply because the menu items give one a big choice and we turn it into a feast.Downside is that there is limited parking in the restaurant car park and very little space outside. Best to go early and park in side streets.

Excellent waiter. Good value. 8 of us are for less than £100. Informal, relaxed, pub atmosphere. Lots of TVs (the football was on) including TVs in booths. Nice selection of desserts too compared to a typical Indian.

I very rarely if ever give a one star review but im sorry this place is laughable. It has the atmosphere and layout of a working mens club when you walk in and it goes downhill from there. Seated at a table for what should really be four when there were five of us meant that things were a bit cramp. We ordered drinks and it was like the waiting staff were learning the job and the place started to feel like a training school. Eventually got our drinks and the process of ordering food was again really slow as they wrote down exactly what you wanted word for word. To be honest the waiting staff were terrible. After the starter which was barely edible they didnt replace the cutlery so we asked and one of the staff just picked up a huge bunch of cutlery and shoved it into the middle of the tableMains came out and were terrible. Loaded with salt and the spicier dishes were just loaded with spice power that wasnt cooked out so everything just tasted powdery. Me and my family recently came here and celebrated fathers day and this has to be one of the best curries I have ever tried, I tried the Railway Special Masala and it was amazing, I would definitely recommended. Me and my family have now started to use this for all of our special occasions

My friend had a birthday party for her daughter. We found it very noisy and the food was barely edible. Definite no no!

My husband wanted to take me here after having a work do there and I have to say it's one of the best curries I've ever had. Fresh, hot, tasty, couldn't ask for more. I had chicken tikka korma and my husband a lamb rogan. Then we had bindi bhaji side, pilau rice and Naan. The service was brilliant and so friendly. We will definitely be back.

Being a Coeliac, I thought a curry would be easy here, but no such luck, asked if the curry was gluten free, response was, we do not use flour, but if you want to know if the spices are, go to India and ask, because that's where we get our spices from.... they have no n idea of the ingredients in their food, anyway tried to eat there, but food was inedible, trading standards tomorrow. ...they hopefully will sort their attitude out!!##
