Great place we have a usual Friday here and staff are great and friendly and food is nice and priced well. James was spot on as well as the rest of the staff at the railway

Absolutely amazingggggg!! Great place for my birthday meal.!!!! James was so lovely and had the perfect manners. The food was yummy however sadly no mushrooms but life moves on. James did apologise for this inconvenience which was rather kind of him. I am sad now as I really craved them mushrooms but I will return for them another day.

Food took a long time to come out and when it finally did it tasted of nothing some things undercooked and others overcooked. I did not enjoy my food at all so the staff were ok didn't really communicate with us I think it's more the kitchen that was a let down.

Food: The food was a mixed bag of okay and served too cold. The quality of my curry wasn't much better than a microwave meal but it was up to temperature and okay I suppose. We had two dishes served too cold and whoever was doing the steak did it rare instead of medium rare but we didn't send it back because we'd waited too long for it already. Service: Service staff didn't really do anything wrong, the kitchen let them down really. Atmosphere: Low score for atmosphere because the section we were in was cold and we had to keep our coats on until staff rectified it.

Came with a few friends for a meal, fast service and food was delicious. Ben and Brydie looked after us well will definitely be coming back.

I have been going, on and off, to this pub for years. Sadly like most pubs that do grub are now serving food that certainly isn't value for money. Even charging for tiny things like Garlic bread. Used to be included with the Lasagna etc. My Lasagna was some pre heated mess, with diced up veg, what there was of them!! I'll think twice before heading there again. Maybe also sort out your disabled toilet. In terrible state.

I’ve been to this pub a few times now and it’s a new fave! Lovely staff, I’ve never had a bad experience they’re always so chatty and friendly and always happy to go above and beyond for you! Service is always fast and food was fab! Can’t wait to visit again.

Great place for quick reasonably priced food. Good for children and good access for wheelchairs. Separate sports bar with lots of tv screens. Great atmosphere on match days.

Took the kids on a Monday and Wow just wow, words cannot fathom my experience at this place!!! Food impeccable, warm and welcoming staff, that young lad Ben first time I’ve seen him,was outstanding loves a joke the lad had us in tears sometimes, treated us with lots of care.Love it!!

Been a few times lately. We live nearby but had never really been in. It's really friendly and the food is always very nice. Tremendous value. We love the fish and chips. I'm a Real Ale man but had immaculate Greene King IPA this week. That will do for me. Recommended.

Firstly, don't think 3 stars means this is no good, the Railway is probably the best value for money I have experienced in a very long time, however it is lacking in certain aspects. Food - exceptional value, paid somewhere around £40 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids including drinks. Food was of acceptable quality, however my gammon did not come with pineapple as advertised (not bothered, but someone else might be) and was so salty it actually made my lips numb. All the other food was fine. Drinks - good quality cask ales for very good prices. Service - could not fault in any way. Atmosphere - the place is a bit dated, carpets could use a refresh, however toilets were clean, tables were clean.

Great space especially if you've got children. Good menu for them to choose from. Staff always friendly and helpful.

We came for breakfast with Santa today, 4 girls, parents and grandparents, 10 of us in all. The Santa is one of the most engaging Santa's I have met. We had plenty of time with him for photo's and chat, the whole Santa experience was extreemly well done. There was no queue and no rush 👏👏👏🎅

Went for breakfast with Father Christmas, atmosphere was great. Staff member Brydie was very informative and efficient, at a very busy time she had everything under control. Brilliant staff member, Father Christmas was great...... the best one.

Came here for a breakfast after visiting family in hoylake food was really nice and very low priced. Tom who served us was really nice made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble Will definitely be visiting again

Liberty was superb, friendly, super friendly and professional.

My wife and I visited the Railway Inn this evening for a meal, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The food was excellent—I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, although my wife wasn’t entirely happy with her pie. What truly made the evening special, however, was the exceptional service we received from Liberty. When we mentioned the pie, she immediately offered a free pudding as a kind gesture, which we really appreciated. Liberty was incredibly attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to ensure we left happy. Her professionalism and kindness truly made the evening one to remember. Thank you to the team at the Railway Inn, and especially Liberty, for a wonderful night. We’ll definitely be back!

Came to watch football, bar was packed and Ben the manger and Laura were fast and provided a good service. Great atmosphere would definitely recommend.

I visited your restaurant last night for 3 adults and 2 children. Food came out promptly but had to ask for one more meal 10 minutes after the rest had come out. Again with the desserts had to find someone to ask about a missing dessert,not Ince did we get asked if everything was alright with our meals . My dessert (the trifle baked Alaska)looked nothing like the picture on the menu ,it was half the size ,no custard and the merengue was soggy. I would have sent it back if I could of found a staff member . Very disappointed as normally have had no complaints with our meals .

As a regular I can see so many positive changes. Not so many younger staff, who are ok but definitely don't have the best customer care attitude. Sharon who serves us regularly is a total breath of fresh air. Can't do enough for you, goes above and beyond for everyone. I hope she is properly appreciated. Food is 100% improved and cooked well .

Been here many times and food is always fab! Had a previous issue and Jodie the manager took the time to phone me, listen to my complaint and immediately rectified it. I went back and was the best experience ever. Just goes to show give someone/ somewhere a 2nd chance, give them the opportunity to put it right and trust. You'll be more than satisfied. Jodie was fantastic, couldn't have asked for better service all round experience.

Pretty gross, bathroom was vile, tables were sticky. Food was just about edible... but staff were nice enough.

The other day I had wonderful experience at the railway , a lovely young girl, I think her name was Niamh , she had a very warm and friendly personality towards me and my family , will definitely be returning soon!

I like this place but last few times I've been it's been pretty grimy with plates, glasses and sauce bottle left on unused tables etc. Hope it's not going downhill as its good value, friendly and the food is nice.

Pre booked for a table of 13 (9 adults, 4 kids) for 26th Aug. My son requested to eat there to celebrate his 7th birthday with the family. When we arrived a table for 9 had been set up but it wasn’t a problem and they sorted a table for 13 quickly for us. Service was great, Jodie was especially wonderful. Unfortunately the veggie lasagna we ordered was firstly over done to the point it was burnt to the dish and very watery so it was sent back and a fresh one was requested. 2nd one to come out was undercooked and watery. Jodie was very approachable and apologetic about the meal and offered for a new meal off the menu to be cooked which was with us within 10min and was good. We were refunded for that one meal without asking which was great. It was a lovely time with family and the food wasn’t the main reason we were there but unfortunately the food was just ok. Service on the other hand is amazing, the team is really nice and Jodie was really lovely.

Lovely meal with family on a Sunday afternoon, quite busy as expected so best to book the table as we did. A good choice of food including vegan options. Food came in good time and service was good too. Will return soon .

Classy venue. Handsome chap in the burgundy top (think his name is Ben) is arguably the best bartender in the whole of West Wirral. Brydie was excellent too. Will definitely be coming back.

We came over from Liverpool to treat my nephew & his son to a Birthday lunch. We were told by the server at the bar that there was a 45 minute wait which we accepted.But we didn't expect was 3 meals to turn up in dribs and draps and 1 meal not to appear at all!! We were not offered a refund until my husband insisted then the young lady now at the till reluctantly agreed. As you can imagine my disappointment in your establishment and I will never recommend it to anyone. If you and your team continue in this vein you will be heading for closure pretty soon. We were at table 68 and we arrived at 2pm, there was a lady also complaining about the way one of your workers had dealt with her children, she didn't appear impressed !!

Great food and service. Really good for live sports as they have plenty of TVs and a large projector screen, along with a pool table. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Staff great. Atmosphere good. Plenty of parking. Food served quickly. Food low standard. Medium rare was well done rare, didn't think you could do that. Chicken was dry. Burgers dry.
