Waited over an hour for food for it to be cold

We come here every week for brunch on a Saturday morning and it's great value, quick service and freshly cooked. Tom made a great milkshake for my son too!

Tom was our server and was very helpful and friendly. Food was really nice.

Yet another lovely family meal. Bar staff very attentive especially Hugo. Our waitress, Summah, was prompt fetching our meals and continually checked if everything was OK. Caring service with a smile. Recommended

We have been coming here for years and it's gone really down hill food used to be really nice good portions sizes now it's rubbish get about 10 chips on with your meals the burger bun should of been toasted but it was put in the microwave all soggy an soft not very nice at all don't think we will be coming here anymore and would not recommend it to family members as I used to

A great pub serving a decent variety of dishes from the menu. It's cheap, but we've found the food to be very good. This place is popular at all times it seems, but we always get a table without prebooking. Its a noisy pub, but there are quieter corners if you know where to look. We'll be back again soon no doubt.

Staff fantastic especially Hugo our waiter Couldn’t fault his service. Very polite friendly and nothing to much trouble My only complaint is food is lukewarm every week. I have to return my meal every week 😡 then they return it with1 item heated up but the rest still like warm This is unacceptable and needs immediate improvement

Don't bother with the gravy burger. They give you the tiniest little teeny weeny cup of gravy. It's called "the gravy one". Give us a decent amount of gravy, or any kind of sauce (they're stingey with the pepper sauce too), it's the cheapest thing. Plus the table was filthy despite being reserved and having a reserved note on it, so it must have been "cleaned".

A pub that I love and come to every Liverpool match really disappointed me. Our food was beautiful as usual, several of the staff come to our table to have a laugh with us. I was surprised that I had an email saying I had a free birthday drink. I went to the bar, eventually got served after being ignored twice. I informed the person who served me that I had a free birthday drink. I asked for a black cherry gin and lemonade, checking with her that it was included in the offer. She poured it and then informed me I would have to pay in full for it. Absolutely disgusting, especially when I had told her before hand.

Tom was a fabulous host and checked in several times that everything was ok. We will be returning.

Lovely pub with mostly friendly staff however there is the odd member of staff, particularly one today behind the bar who was abrupt and although the pub wasn’t busy still decided to ignore that we were waiting to order food at the bar and hovered and waited to serve someone else. The tables are often piled high with empty dirty plates and glasses and food will come out as and when ready not as a full order. Quite spacious pub and dog friendly.

Love this place. Mark, the KM, is wonderful and takes so much care when making his customers food. The place would be lost without him!!! 100000% recommend!

Absolutely amazingggggg!! Great place for my birthday meal.!!!! James was so lovely and had the perfect manners. The food was yummy however sadly no mushrooms but life moves on. James did apologise for this inconvenience which was rather kind of him. I am sad now as I really craved them mushrooms but I will return for them another day.

Food took a long time to come out and when it finally did it tasted of nothing some things undercooked and others overcooked. I did not enjoy my food at all so the staff were ok didn't really communicate with us I think it's more the kitchen that was a let down.

Food: The food was a mixed bag of okay and served too cold. The quality of my curry wasn't much better than a microwave meal but it was up to temperature and okay I suppose. We had two dishes served too cold and whoever was doing the steak did it rare instead of medium rare but we didn't send it back because we'd waited too long for it already. Service: Service staff didn't really do anything wrong, the kitchen let them down really. Atmosphere: Low score for atmosphere because the section we were in was cold and we had to keep our coats on until staff rectified it.

I have been going, on and off, to this pub for years. Sadly like most pubs that do grub are now serving food that certainly isn't value for money. Even charging for tiny things like Garlic bread. Used to be included with the Lasagna etc. My Lasagna was some pre heated mess, with diced up veg, what there was of them!! I'll think twice before heading there again. Maybe also sort out your disabled toilet. In terrible state.

I’ve been to this pub a few times now and it’s a new fave! Lovely staff, I’ve never had a bad experience they’re always so chatty and friendly and always happy to go above and beyond for you! Service is always fast and food was fab! Can’t wait to visit again.

Great place for quick reasonably priced food. Good for children and good access for wheelchairs. Separate sports bar with lots of tv screens. Great atmosphere on match days.

Firstly, don't think 3 stars means this is no good, the Railway is probably the best value for money I have experienced in a very long time, however it is lacking in certain aspects. Food - exceptional value, paid somewhere around £40 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids including drinks. Food was of acceptable quality, however my gammon did not come with pineapple as advertised (not bothered, but someone else might be) and was so salty it actually made my lips numb. All the other food was fine. Drinks - good quality cask ales for very good prices. Service - could not fault in any way. Atmosphere - the place is a bit dated, carpets could use a refresh, however toilets were clean, tables were clean.

Took the kids on a Monday and Wow just wow, words cannot fathom my experience at this place!!! Food impeccable, warm and welcoming staff, that young lad Ben first time I’ve seen him,was outstanding loves a joke the lad had us in tears sometimes, treated us with lots of care.Love it!!

Been a few times lately. We live nearby but had never really been in. It's really friendly and the food is always very nice. Tremendous value. We love the fish and chips. I'm a Real Ale man but had immaculate Greene King IPA this week. That will do for me. Recommended.
