Raffles Coffee House in Preston

Went for breakfast while waiting for car to be fixed a first time visit. Both of us picked scrambled eggs with our breakfast instead of fried and so glad we did,drinks and rest of breakfast fine but the scrambled eggs were to die for never had better even my own. According to the helpful and friendly staff they are made with cream. It's worth going just for the scrambled eggs which we will be returning to have.

Welcome coffee and scone break whilst shopping. Great selection. Friendly staff.

The food and service from our waitress was perfectly fine but what was most definitely not ok was that while sat waiting on our food we witnessed a waitress place an extremely mouldy orange into the juicer we thought she may not have realised so we made the staff aware in the hopes they would go and take back the 4 cups of orange juice they had just served to other tables but they did not all they did was quickly bin the oranges from the juicier tub almost to hide them so for me that will 100% be our last visit to this cafe.

What a disappointment food to day let start by saying .soup lukewarm baguette tuna so small partner had a scone with butter it was hot butter was melting and dripping of scone had a pot of tea ok still hungry had to go elsewhere been before a lot of times must state normally very good but this time out of and will use somewhere else next time expensive for what we had

Don’t ever try the shakes. It’s just ice cubes. Waste of money.

I wouldn't recommend going in this cafe, because I found hair in my food and the staff are extremely rude as well.

I have visited twice now, breakfast and lunch and it is a bit hit and miss. Lunch was rather nice, we took a variety of options and nobody complained. It is simple food which you probably already prepare at home. Nothing extraordinary but tasted good and was filling. Breakfast was even simpler, a bit bland, nothing special at all and while filling, I would not go for breakfast again. Mushrooms soaking in oil, tomatoes not cooked but just dusted with pepper, no seasoning at all. We also asked about swapping an item for another for the full breakfast, which was never an issue anywhere, but we couldn't which was a bit annoying. At least there was good coffee, reasonable prices. Friendly staff but outdated decor.

Looked ok , nice decor , plenty of seating , acknowledged as soon as we came in, got menus within a minute. Table and chairs were clean , everything great so far. Ordered drinks , and food ,received drinks fairly quickly. Drinks were ok, and we then spent the next 14 minutes spinning out drinking them till food arrived. then it all went downhill. 15 mins later I received my baguette, my daughter didn't get her chips. Waited. And ,fairly, remarked it had been a bit. Yes it's not McDonald's,but what we got wasn't even 5 minutes of work (I'm a chef) Lauren said sorry, but that she had placed the order so ..that was that. Chips arrived ,delivered by another lady (I think Lauren had taken offence at me complaining) I ordered a baguette with spicy chicken , this is where it goes downhill again...the baguette was warmed through, but had lettuce in it, and the chicken pieces were cold...what is the point of that? Really poor. Curly fries were ok, so that was a win. Would I go again ? Nope. Service was ok ,it's a shame the kitchen couldn't match it.

Every time we are in Preston shopping, My Wife and myself go to this Cafe for lunch. Always busy, which is a good sign, good portions, varied menus, with specials as well. The girls are really nice, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. What more do you want.

They have a lot of stairs to climb if you need the toilet, there apart from this ok

Went here just before Christmas. I ordered a breaded chicken baguette and my husband bacon Brie and cranberry sauce baguette. He said he didn’t want the chips but they said they would have to charge anyway which we agreed to. The chicken baguette came with 1 1/2 goujons on it and a little paper pot of chilli sauce and some shrivelled up side salad, my husband was asked if he wanted cranberry sauce?? That was in the name of the sandwich, again brought in a little paper pot. The chips were like cardboard. We had a glass of apple juice each and the bill came to £33. What a waste of money.

Hot food served on cold plates is a nono, but the last three times I visited it was served on cold plates.Staff just stand about talking about what a good night out they had.Not very interested in doing their job.

The food is always fabulous and the service is incredible. It has a really friendly atmosphere.

I go in here with my mum and sister alot the food is good and drinks are nice and hot! My only issue is that in recent times prices have gone up, I know its a sign of the times but its just annoying for customers! But.....I understand....that's the only thing Foods good quality, cakes look yummy, owners are friendly and staff hardworking It could probably do with a face-lift....its quite tacky cafe deco, would benefit from a revamp

First time to this place, and got a take out hot chocolate. Was waiting for it so decided to look at the menu, got told to move by staff, found the staff rude and abrupt. Hot chocolate was just warm, and tasted awful, over priced. Not going to this place again.

Just last week I had a breakfast wasn't even told there be a wait for food. Waited over half hour for food. Didn't even say sorry about the wait. Sausage was cold to.

Jacket potato was old and cold, 😪😪

Ordered a jacket potatoe which was £3.75 on the menu. When the bill came they charged me £9. When I queried it they said the £3.75 is for takeout only. Surely they should have made me aware of this extortionate price difference between eating in and eating out?! I mentioned it to the lady before paying, and she just kind of smiled and shrugged it off.

One of my favorite coffee shops,always busy but good food ,coffee friendly staff only problem is getting a table as it ie popular

Really excellent service, the waitresses were constantly asking us if we were ready to order and if we needed anything. The food was good and the malted coffee tasted like normal coffee.

Just recently visited on the 20 th and sat near the toilets against the back wall. Toilets out of service but I presume the kitchen was through the same door as staff was going in and out. Myself and my friend was disgusted to be able to smell cannabis coming through a large vent above us on the wall. I seriously advise the owner/manager to investigate as this is not acceptable In a cafe.

Told me my omelette had not been cooked properly but then still charged me full price. Over £12 for a coffee and a few eggs. How hard is it to cook an egg.

The cakes were lovely and a nice big pot of tea was provided. The service was very, very slow though. Two portions of cake and tea for two, £12 so not exactly cheap.

Unfortunately can’t comment on the food as we walked out. We were told to go and sit on a table in a far corner and that someone would bring menus over, we sat there for over 10 minutes, watching other customers being taken to tables with menus, one of which was a table beside us, so we chose to leave as the service was non existent. I always prefer to pick small businesses rather than chains, but we ended up eating at a chain with excellent service.

Used to be great 20 odd years ago and it's not changed at all - apart from being double the size. The club sandwich is still amazing.

Absolutely fantastic customer service the team who work there work so hard and they work as a great team. The food was words that I couldn't explain so I just like to say well done team.

Although food good past two times we have been we have been served the wrong food so this time we ordered egg mayo and bacon baguettes and where served cheese and onion??? We then had a forever wait for the correct order, no apology or free coffee or discounted bill offered, and as its happened twice, it's off putting to say the least.

really nice, everything is cooked well, and the waitress was lovely and attentive a bit pricey but what isn't these days .. the only thing that is missing is the atmosphere between the staff is rather dull

Must of walked past this shop 100's times , first time went in, lovely place, food was delicious, service excellent, will definitely not be walking past it again when searching for somewhere to get food and drinks

Absolutely loved the desserts and coffee. The pastries were very rich in flavour We had the carrot cake, my personal favourite and chocolate cake.

The food it’s self is amazing hence the 4 stars. However , my friend recently got a job there and ended up leaving within 3 days of working there as the staff we disgusting. They were rude and made snarky comments about her in front of her face the whole shift. They never once helped her on what to do but instead watched and laughed when she did something wrong, despite never being told what was correct.

First time here and can be very busy at lunch time. Had coffee and a sandwich. All very tasty.

Lovely brunch with the eldest child. He had the oreo waffles which he thoroughly enjoyed, and I had a cafetiere of coffee. Even Had 3/4 choices of different types of coffee. I had the blue sumatra which was really tasty. Service was quick and staff really friendly and efficient.

My wife would give it a 5 for the milk shakes but it's only a 3 from me for the latte as it was a little weak/watery. Clean and nice staff.

Ordered hot baguette on white bread, was handed sandwich, the waitress was rude and stated I said white bread, what I ordered was not in sandwich option. First time I've had a problem with place as normally staff are really nice, extremely disappointed

I'm a bit of a scone fanatic and can truly say that Raffles scones are one of the best I've had- hence whenever I'm on training in Preston, I head straight there and purchase a few to take away. They are properly homemade and taste delicious 😋 My colleagues loved them too and it was a special afternoon treat. Staff have always been very welcoming too.

Food was absolutely amazing . I go there all the time when visiting Preston to see my mum .

Just had bacon and egg baton. Possibly the best thing I have put in my mouth and trust me I'm a fat lad so I know about bacon butties.

Always get good and Quick service even if its busy.

Not worth the money £35 for a wrap a sandwich, sausages and a few chips kids meal ,a milkshake and a glass of coke RIP off

Nice cafe in St Georges shopping centre by the side of the main rotunda. This cafe is pretty popular and hard to get a seat during peak times The food is basic but good with generous portions. Cakes are good too The staff are friendly and professional Atmosphere and decor is clean and tidy with some interesting historical prints of Preston on the walls

Ordered a sausage and onion gravy baguette which was £3.95 on the take out board and £10.95 to eat in which I didn’t realise til I got the bill. Justification for the £7 difference was you got chips with it- chips I didn’t ask for. Food and drinks were lovely though and we got desserts to take away which were really nice too.

Cafetiere best value for a brew. Could do with an extra pat of butter for the baked potato.

Me and a friend went for a catch up and as we got our coffees we felt like we wasn’t very welcome there. The staff was talking bad things about other staff members when they wasn’t there. About how they made their cappuccinos for customers and giving them horrible nick names. And they was playing the radio very loud Asif they didn’t want us there.

Highly recommend the breakfast, fresh and good quality food. The atmosphere feels nice to be in and the staff were good together. R x

Fantastic service and food as always

Disappointing. Slow-ish service and a bit overpriced for bland food. The atmosphere was meh and the music could be better or switched off. I won't be going back again.

Raffles has been going such a long time (more than 30yrs) and still as popular and as good as ever. We both got different baguettes (£7) and had half and half, hence the messy presentation (I forgot to take pic at the start). You can get hot food and regular sliced bread sandwiches too. The curly fries are yummy. We're never disappointed with our meal here and it's in an excellent, central spot in the St. George's shopping mall, which has the multi story carpark above for even more convenience. Wheelchair accessible too.

Me and my step daughter stop here every now and then whilst shopping for gifts for her Daddy. She picked the place and really loves her baked potato with cheese and beans ❤️ My only criticism is the tight seating arrangements, it could do with some less tables, other than that, awesome! One happy customer, thanks Raffles!
