Rafael'o Italian Restaurant in Richmondshire

Fabulous meal, I ordered a pizza that wasn’t on the menu and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. It was delicious, thank you. Staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. Will definitely be back

The restaurant is comfortable with quite background music. The service was friendly without being intrusive. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had sea bass with scallops , cooked perfectly and the sauce on the scallops was delicious. I will come here again to dine and would highly recommend.

I recently went to Rafael'o with my husband for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere was perfect, and despite there being other families dining, we still managed to have a romantic dinner. We were served out food in good time, and the waitress was very professional. She seemed young, but was well put together, very polite and seemed to have good experience in customer service. Our food was delicious! I highly recommend dining here, as the other Italian restaurants in the local area have absolutely no qualities that come close to competing with Rafael'o. All in all, a very pleasant, classy experience without the extortionate price tag!

Visited at 12.00hrs and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, drinks and relaxed atmosphere. I had liver and bacon starter which was beautifully cooked, sea bass platter for main meal which was the best sea bass I have had. Great value, great food, great service. As good as it gets. Lucky Richmond.

We waited until the restaurant had been open for a while to give it time to get up and running. As Richmond already has three other established Italian restaurants we assumed that this one would aspire to outdo the others. We arrived for dinner one evening and the welcome was not very welcoming. We ordered some wine and were given menus - the staff seemed young and not very professional - the waiter actually wearing coloured trainers !. The starters seemed very ordinary and expensive for what they were so we ordered two pasta mains. The one with chicken was swamped with a sauce and the chicken was very tough and the mixed seafood one was very bland - neither were served to look appealing. As we were leaving the restaurant we noticed a "specials board" which we hadn't seen upon arrival and none of the staff mentioned it when giving us our menus initially - bur some of the dishes on it we would probably have chosen but weren't given the option. Based on this visit I don't think any of the other establishments will have much to worry about It's a shame really

Worst meal ever only went because the review were good. I had a mixed seafood medley it was overcooked dry and awful the greens were cold and seemed to be straight from a tin. Definitely wouldn't go again

Loved our meal and would definitely recommend Rafael’o. We had pasta and pizza dishes and all were excellent, with the seafood sauce the star for me. We thought the room was relaxing and a perfect sized and the service was excellent- efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. It’s great to have another good restaurant in Richmond.

Wow. Fabulous dining experience today with my girlfriend. I couldn't decide which was better the food or the service. They were both superb

Just got home from late lunch absolutely highly recommend Rafael'os beautiful tasty food great service definitely passionate about what they do, nothing any trouble just felt comfortable while in the restaurant. Definitely will be going back

Lovely clean bright decor with nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff are young and did a professional job couldn't fault them . Food was good value for money (pizza)and enjoyed the tiramasu . Recommended a visit we will be returning. Thank you

Absolutely outstanding food . Hosts are fantastic. This place is an absolute go to 5 * plus. Prices are very reasonable.

By far one of the best meal we had as a family we had the calfs liver starter cooked to perfection also we appreciate the chef who greeted us at the start making us feel like we were as home for main course i had Sirloin rafaelo all i can say it was amazing we normally dont go to restaurant that we dont know but this we say we have ti give it a try we seen a-lot of review so we said why not. I recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone

We ordered a rafaelo pizza for the table, to share as a starter, dough and toppings cooked to perfection. The halibut from the specials menu was a must have at £17 and did not disappoint. The portion size was much more than expected and quite frankly cooked to perfection…. Browned crusted outside and moist and meaty throughout, accompanied with a creamy garlic sauce, with a hint of sharpness. Overall an excellent meal with faultless service… would recommend and will return for sure.

Based on previous reviews we decided to try the restaurant. The waiter got one of the main courses wrong so we had to wait for it to be done which ment everyone else food was going cold. Food was mediocre not special the crème brûlée was too runny with very little crisp topping. No compensation for the waiter getting the food wrong. Don’t think we’ll return in A hurry.

I don’t often write reviews.. in fact I’ve never left a review in my life but the pasta dish I had was best I’ve had in Richmond ever. 5 stars 👍🏻

I went with family and all the meals were fantastic. Could not fault anything. Service and food were perfect. I had the Sea Bass. Will definitely be back.

I came here with my 3.5yr old daughter last week and we were made to feel extremely welcome by the lovely people running this. The food was excellent (the pizza is incredible, and very big) and the service was always friendly and with a smile....

Booked for 7pm Tues 2.1.24 for my wife’s birthday which had been confirmed on line and with a telephone call. Restaurant NOT open. Showed online that the restaurant opened at 12 noon. No reply on phone.

Really lovely Italian restaurant,good quality well cooked food prepared by the chef/owner,pleasant service and very nice atmosphere.

Excellent food, good portions and very good value. Appears a family run restaurant with home cooked food. Pasta dishes were fresh and tasty, best tiramisu ever. Great find in Richmond, certainly recommend and will be back to try other dishes.

We had our staff Xmas meal at Rafael'o. The food was very good and enjoyed by all. Tradional and Italian fayre both available

What a cracking night we've just had. 21 of us for or staff Xmas party. Looked after so well. One young lad (didn't get his name) an ab star.. Food was amazing... and considering there was only 2 in the kitchen. (Chef and his wife)...

Best Italian in Richmond. Maybe even North Yorkshire. Really authentic delicious, tasty food. The atmosphere was wonderful along with the staff. My new favourite spot.

First time visit and came away impressed. Attentive service, welcoming ambience and delicious food which seemed to be cooked with care. The best italian in Richmond by far. Definitely a new favourite for us

Really nice food, well priced. Very attentive service. Shame the menu is not more different to the other Italians in the town - but it tasted amazing. Obviously talented team - maybe they can tweak the menu to attract more people as locals are assuming it the same chain of restaurants. Will definitely go back!
