RAF Lakenheath - Liberty Wings in Forest Heath

A quiet and cozy place to grab some spicy wings and have a good conversation or enjoy live sports on TV. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

I WANT to like Liberty Wings more than I actually do. Unfortunately, the prices are pretty high and the food is just basic. I used to really, really like their salads, but they recently changed up the portions and now you hardly get any greens...if you love lots of chicken and bacon, though, then I guess you're in luck! But it's a salad, so I'd at least like half greens / half chicken. Anyway. it's a fine visit for every now and then. I like having the option available, but it is definitely not the best place to eat on RAF Lakenheath.

Wings were amazing. No noticeable difference between traditional Buffalo and Buffalo mild. Lemon pepper dry rub and fries are over seasoned but a little ranch will help that. For a down day service was a bit slow, hate to see when it is really busy. Liberty Wings has potential, folks just need to pop in to support, so they can hire more personnel. Great Wings overall.

Food is good. Sometimes they will mess up your order. Decent atmosphere csn get a bit cramped when 50 people are dining in.

Gordon Millar & Chelsea Charleston/Beattie Gordon Millar and Chelsea Charleston/Beattie I believe were fraudster con artists that showed up to steal the money that my Grandad Charles had won on The People's Postcode Lottery in July, 2010. Gordon Millar I believe had made up this story that he was my Uncle Darren's long lost Son and once he got in he brainwashed the rest of my family into believing it. My Grandad won the money, I think it was around £23,000 on the 18th of July, 2010 and Gordon Millar had contacted my Uncle Darren claiming to be his long lost Son in around September, 2010. I've asked my Gran about Gordon Millar and she said at one point he was asking my Grandad (who passed away from Leukaemia on the 5th of October, 2022) for money, either for driving lessons or a car and my Grandad told him that he never won that kind of money it was only a few grand. But not long later between 2011 and 2012 Gordon Millar when he probably realised he wasn't getting as much as he thought started sending us abusive phone calls with his girlfriend Chelsea Charleston which was her name at the time but later she changed her name to Chelsea Beattie. We've not seen or heard from them since about 2012. In March, 2013 my family was ram raided and I got sent to The Royal Edinburgh Hospital and we all got bullied. They had hypnotised and bullied me, my Mum, Sister, Step-Dad, Gran, Grandad, Uncle and Cousins. While I was in hospital somebody had went through my entire bedroom and my family were acting really strange. They thought I had done something wrong but I hadn't and they looked frightened and they were shaking and to this day I still don't know what exactly had happened to them. I believe Gordon Millar's name is an anagram of... gold miner and Chelsea Charleston's name is an anagram of... she steals the cash.

Waited at the bar for 20 minutes to get any attention from servers for a to go order. Must be nice to work here and frick off on your phone and ignore customers clearly trying to speak to you or make eye contact. Got my Togo order after another 30 mins. The buffalo ranch wrap and Blondie are actually so good. I just wish the service was better.

Wings are definitely hit or miss. Boneless can slap sometimes other times it’s dry as heck. Sometimes it’s swimming in sauce and great sometimes you get an essence of sauce.

So delicious! Will be eating here again. Order was ready when they said it would be. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quality of everything. We came from a base with next to nothing original for food options. So happy with our choice and they have much more than wings despite the name!!

Overall great. Portions are huge. Can feed a family of 4 for about £20

Personally been here at least a dozen times and never had a bad meal. Our favourites are the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese and the boneless wings- delicious.

Chloe was wonderful! Cincinnati Bengals on the tv. Perfect music mix for Monday night date.

Sat in to pick up food from the moment my food left their kitchen to 2 minutes later you could barely consider the food "warm" at best. Tasted fine and staff was good at least.

$65 for boneless wings, loaded tots, and a quesadilla. I don’t think I need to say anymore.

Seems like the prices are getting more expensive and the food is getting smaller. The Jumbo tenders use to actually be jumbo now there just regular tenders that cost the same as before.

Use to be an amazing place with good prices. Now for the wingman it went up from £21.95-£24.95. I wouldn't mind if they would have least stayed the same quality. The wings use to be big wings and great portions. Today the wings/legs we received where the smallest I have ever seen, it looked like they where off a pigeon. I will deffiantly not be going bad and makes me sad because it use to be such a great spot.

Food is normally great but takes forever to get to your table. Customer service can be friendly but not seem to kinda forget about you halfway through your meal and don’t check in on you. I finished my food and asked for my ticket only to wait and have to go back up 10 min later to actually pay finally. Only one staff member seemed to have really cared about the situation.

Good American style food in a little America. Be warned though because it's priced in pounds. Pricey by US standards but not by UK standards. Remember things are different overseas. So, don't complain.

The service is the absolute worst.

Eaten there twice and both times the experience was the same. Great team of people and great food. I do wish they had hotter wings. The "damn it's hot" Nashville chicken sandwich is much hotter than the wings I ordered. That sandwich was the bomb! Definitely a great option if you don't want to drive 30+ minutes off base to eat out. I will be back.

Definitely some of the best wings this side of the pond

Food is good when it's warm... but it's always cold. Even if you show up just as they open. I just don't understand. I've had plenty of disappointing meals from there and I think I've learned my lesson to not go back unfortunately. It's just always a gamble, and I always seem to lose.

There chicken just gets better here, the boneless chicken is super morish and 10 pieces is never enough. It's a little pricey compared to say Taco bell which I find very reasonably priced but wow that Chicken is hard to beat and very satisfying meal . I had 10 boneless pieces and it came to about €13 dollars with a tip, no drink no sides, just straight into the good stuff. I'm going for the 15 pieces next time for sure. Staff very friendly with lots of nice smiles and seem like they actually enjoy there job.

Food is generally tasty but it is never hot. It's only mildly warm or cold.

Great food. Very busy. Great service. Definitely recommend.

We get takeaway with some frequency and occasionally dine in. Obviously the only American sports bar around, and does a decent job with the standard fare. Boneless wings are very good (large white-meat tenders), regular wings are usually quite small. I'm convinced they just put more of the same buffalo sauce if you order the hotter sauces, but I do like the sauce. Decent kids menu too.

Only gotten take out twice now, but I have yet to be disappointed! The food is delicious and the staff has always been super friendly! Prices went up with new management. Can of pop is over £2. The food is still very good. Wings can be quite small for the price though!

Slow food service but fantastic staff

I was surprised how much I liked the wings. I had given up in the quality of wings one finds at different places now a days.

Super friendly staff, every time we eat there. Food is a nice taste of home when you miss some American bar and grill setting.

Pretty darn good but the wait times are insane. Rather pricy too.

Very disappointed, stay away if you have food allergies as the staff does not care. I very clearly stated I have a severe gluten allergy then I get a salad with a roll in it.

The wings are pretty good. It just takes a long time to get them. The Mango Habanero has been discontinued unfortunately.

Food wasn't bad. Everything else was.

The wings are so crispy and good, and the fries were seasoned just right . Definitely recommend eating there. And if you love spicy , they definitely have the spice .

Food is pretty good, servers are friendly, service can be a bit slow, but otherwise good.

They don’t have Mango Habanero sauce anymore. That was the many reason why I came here :( I was explained why they have it & I’m still upset.

Make sure to call in, it takes a while to prepare, which i dont mind, but if you have your favorite wing sauce, it will most likely be out

The wings were much smaller that I expected but still good. Fries were nice and hot, and there was a nice beer selection.

It was great service. My only complaint was the wings were a bit overcooked. I got the large boneless wings. I think it may be because I came after a rush. Hopefully next time is better. I'd still recommend the place.

I have eaten at Liberty Wings a few times during lunch hours. More often than not, the food was decent. However, my past 2 visits during evening/dinner time hours, wings came out greasy and cold. They clearly had been either sitting under a heat lamp from lunch or just soaked in grease then reheated. Do better Liberty Wings. Also, the blue cheese dressing taste like mayo.

Mango Habanero wings were ok, but do not recommend the veggie buffalo appetizer.

Super sweet servers tonight! First time eating here— wings were amazing, guacamole was SO GOOD and food was brought out quickly. Will be a regular now :)

Very good place for chicken wings,nachls,etc... They only gap, no many different beers

Love the service, food, and price. Great taste of American wings. Even during the lock down we have been able to enjoy these at home.

Liberty wings offers up really good wings and their sides are not bad at all. I usually call ahead and order through the phone but even going in person, it doesn't take long before they have you your food.

It’s hit and miss. You don’t know if you will get cooked to order wings or the wings someone forgot to pick up. Like others have said in the reviews, they are the only wings spot locally, so we settle.

Their wings are OKISH, but they’re the only wing place around. I literally only made this review because 90% of the time I have went there or ordered for pick up they get something in my order wrong. It annoying and I’ve heard the same from other people. ordering fries or tots or asking for certain toppings on them is playing food roulette because you don’t know what they’re actually going to give you and it’s annoying. But people keeping going back cus they’re the only wing place around.

Tasty wings and a very friendly staff. Only complaint is that they way over cook their tots.

They're not great but not terrible. As the only legitimate wing place around here they have a real opportunity to corner the market but their wings are just mediocre at best.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We wanted to eat outside as the weather was lovely, however, the outside seating was a bit of a mess and could do with a deep clean. The seating inside was very clean and tidy. The food took about 30mins to come and when it did my buffalo wings were very cold, they tasted great, but they were so cold that I had to send them back. My friends wings were delicious and arrived hot! She had the Asian Kick and BBQ combo, but the waitress forgot her fries which was yet another let down, she was very apologetic and got the fries out to us in a timely manner. Overall giving them three stars for warm and welcoming staff as well as tasty food.. potential to be a great restaurant, bit of a shame.

Stopped in for a quick drink and some starters and got amazing, quick service. The buffalo brussels were perfect as well.

Good wings, just always expect an hour wait

My husband and I love this place! We go here all the time! One thing we missed from the states was a good sports bar and this place has it all!

Ordering food at the bar rather than having a waiter come to the tables is significantly slower and makes getting a table a lot more difficult, especially for larger groups. The combination of the lighting and the colours on the menus make the menu almost impossible to read.

Wings were great. It did take a lit bit for the food to be served. But again, it was peak time.

I love the wings. If there are a few small ones, they always give me a few more than what normally comes in the order. I'm totally ok with that! Good selection of sauces too.

It was good when it first opened, and now it has slowly gone down hill from there.

This establishment seems inconsistant in the wing department. The first couple of times i went, the wings were decent size, good mix of flats to drums, and sauce was abundant. This last time i was given some very small dry drummies and nothing but drummies. I added a picture and i was left with 7 or 8 that i simply didnt want to eat. Ill visit again in a later date to see if things improve. Other than that the place looks nice and the pork sliders were good! Surprisingly for the $5 pork sliders you get more food than a £14 pulled pork samich at smokeworks in Cambridge. Two month review edit. I went back after reading more reviews saying they might have gotten better. Actually they have gotten worse on two factors. One, with the sliders, you now get 2 instead of 3 for the same price. And the major point is they attempted to kill my wife after i stated she is allergic to onions. I was assured there would be no onions on or around the tots. My wife asked again before receiving the dish. The following pictures are of the tots with onions on them. Seriously, who is held accountable for this? Three levels of asking if "hey i will die if this ingredient is in my food" to be told, "no absolutely it is not and i will make sure it is not added". If 0 stars were allowed, this establishment would have it. An ICE will follow this as well.

They're pretty ok for a wing joint. I think they overcook the wings just a little, but they coat well and had a pretty decent sauce. I'd go again.

Food is not bad, good portions, but service is slow.

Gave this place multiple chances and just cant do it anymore. The wings are consistently dry and old tasting. Appetizers are always cold and service takes forever. My family and I really want to like this place, but its expensive for sub par inconsistent food.

Place just opened up a month ago, and already they seem to have made improvements to some items. The fries are great, the boneless wings are tender and flavorful but the traditional wings are still very much sub-par. Service is also average, I wouldn't recommend going in groups but if you do you're gonna have to be very patient. The venue is great though, makes me feel like I'm back in the states. Hoping it keeps improving.

They have there good days and there bad days I've visit at least 3 times. My 1st visit consist of me smelling old cooking grease before enter which in result, my fries tasted disgusting other then that the wigs are good and so is the salad. They are low on staff so be prepared for a long wait highly suggest ordering it to go before lunchtime

Nice look! The sports memorabilia, HD T.Vs, and contemporary decor bespoke sports bar. Very inviting. BAD: Unfortunately, the wing experience was far from exhilarating. ALL DRUMS?! Not a single flat was given... OK: Flavor is lacking. I ordered the Chipotle and Cajun (Traditional/large order/2 flavours $14.95). It was a nice attempt, but there is some needed refining.
