The pub looked clean and cosy, food and service was dissappinting, veg not cooked properly, was crunchy, and service was poor, no explanation of how their system works, no satisfaction checks, was asked if we had finished while still eating, then ignored after being asked if we wanted menu for desserts.

Visited twice in the space of a few months and been disappointed on both occasions. (Used to come quite often and enjoyed it. Good portions/value for money and decent service). However, the same can't be said for both the more recent visits. At 8.26pm, me and my cousin (who had never been before) entered and didn't get any reception from any staff as we walked in... eventually, someone acknowledged us, and i asked if there was a table for 2... the reply was, "Of course." To which we were sat down on a table that hadn't been wiped down. Someone came to take our drinks order, then our food order... after this... on 3 occasions when the buzzer was pressed for attention, we were completely ignored, even though I could hear the buzzer myself from the table, and a member of staff sat at the bar. I pressed the buzzer twice to try and get another drink. A member of staff was putting glasses away at the bar, so I turned around and asked for the drink from my table to the bar ( I felt like an inconvenience) The third time I pressed the buzzer was for dessert. We had moved our plates to the end of the table to show we were ready for more service, which never came... I had to then promt and ask across the restaurant, "Can we order dessert please? " ... Whilst eating dessert, the staff members that were in all appeared round the bar where another member was sat the whole duration of our meal (pretty much) ... they were all talking about personal things/work... and swearing, and just general conversation that shouldn't have been discussed whilst customers were still in. (Work should never be discussed in front of customers. My biggest pet peeve) Unfortunately, my cousin, after the first visit, has said they won't return. First impressions count. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but tonight, I just couldn't. Normally, I am one to say something on the evening, but thought "what's the point?" as it was just us, and I didn't know what reception I would get from complaining in person. The food was nice, I did finish majority apart from some chips. The Stilton sauce was quite oily. Other than that, the portions are still huge and great value. Just a shame about the service 😩 Gutted.

Attended The Raddle Inn today after a funneral. There was an amazing provision of food laid out for everyone. As I am coeliac,I couldn't find anything suitable for GF requirements. I spoke to manager/ owner of the establishment and he was extremely helpful to try and provide food for me at very short notice. They understood what would be safe for me and brought a separate hot plate of food. I would like to thank the staff for what they did . Well done folks. Xx

The ideal stop after Alton Towers. After 2 manic days at the park, this down to earth, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere Inn was just what we needed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We sat next to the log burner, and with a cosy drink and meal, we relaxed and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and staff chat. Thanks for a great visit and we'll be back the next time we visit Alton Towers.

Although the area was lovely, my experience at the Raddle Inn was less than satisfactory... We were waiting for a good half an hour to even be served drinks since we politely asked to look at the menu first, followed by waiting another long period of time to order our starter meals. They didn't take both starters and mains at the same time. Although they had a call button on each table, these were often ignored and we waited another fifteen minutes after our starters were cleared up to be offered a main. We never had dessert by the end of it due to the long waits on a quiet day. The staff were all young, the waitresses seemed more interested in talking to each other and regulars than serving paying customers, all staff were very young and lacked clear communication and people skills, just a simple 'oh' if they got something wrong. Additionally, they seemed incompetent in taking orders if we wanted one thing removed. When we finally got to our food, the starters were alright, however, all the roasts were not nice. The turkey was dry, and veg undercooked, especially the roast potatoes that were incredibly yellow/ white looking. The roast beef was overcooked, rough and hard. The chicken was dry and the roast lamb had more fat than meat on it. Overall, God awful customer service. We didn't even get so much as a goodbye after we paid and left, the waiting times were ridiculous for such a quiet day, the staff were incompetent and too young, and the food was dry, overcooked (meat) and raw (veg).

Went to The Raddle for a drink and dinner on a Friday evening and then again on a Sunday afternoon. Always a warm welcome from the staff and a lovely typical country pub atmosphere. The quality of the food is superb, proper home cooked pub grub. The prices of the food l, though may seem high reflect the quality of the meal you get. I would love to go in summer and sit out in the garden as the views look fantastic.

Lovely overnight stay while visiting Alton Towers. Hot tub was brilliant and just what you need after a long day on your feet at a theme park. Pub on site serving home made food at a reasonable price with bouncy castle and small play area for the kids. Couldn't reccomend The Raddle Inn highly enough for their honesty and customer service after my daughter left a rather expensive birthday present behind which was found by the cleaners, handed in and later sent back to us by Peter at his earliest convenience.

The Log Cabins are tucked away on a hill behind the pub. Very quiet, which I loved after a long day with the kids at Alton Towers (a 15min drive away) Checked in at the bar in the pub to collect the keys from friendly staff. Cabin was basic but clean, and it's got everything you need. Oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, hob, (kids were happy with the TV) and fantastic water pressure in the bathroom. All basic amenities were stocked. The view from the porch was beautiful. And while sitting on there at 7am, locals were calling out hello. Will definitely stay here again when I can muster the energy to drive up from London. A little gem

We've been here before and the food was lovely, however this time was not so good. We ordered a combo platter which everything tasted overcooked and dry. One had homemade steak pie and the pastry was horribleand overcooked. The chips tasted like they had been warmed up. We had three roast dinners ( with no Yorkshire puddings). Apparently you pay extra for them. The roast potato's tasted like they were done in a microwave and were awful. We did get a good portion of meat and veg on the dinners which were nice. Overall we were very disappointed compared to previous visits.

Not sure where to start really, staff were nice however the salt was clumpy and stuck together, condiments were out of date so couldn’t use them, my burger was dry, my partners chicken burger was dry and a lot of hard bits, clear it had been warmed up. Decorations very outdated and tacky/dirty felt like i was sitting in a dirty living room. Asked for the bill and a waitress said she was going to bring it, then continued to wait for 20 minutes and ended up going to the counter to pay instead. Nice views though.

Heard so many great things about this pub so had to try it. Perfect for local walks and the views are stunning. Unfortunately the pub lacked the atmosphere of a country pub despite the quaint interiors, renovating the toilets to caravan park standards does it no favours. The Christmas decorations were sad. The staff were loud and slow despite electonic buzzers which they just ignored. The food was fairly priced but left a lot to be desired. Never seen boiled potatoes with a roast Turkey dinner before. The cabbage was grey and unappealing. So for drinks and views it’s excellent, just don’t sit near the bars where the staff are shouting at each other We were asked to wait when we approached the bar to pay , she did ask if everything was OK but failed to stop talking and didn’t seem bothered that we had not answered.

Although in nice location, pub inside in need of little updating. Food good with lots of 'traditional' choices. Each table has a button you can press for someone to come over and take your order which is a great idea, and all went well until we finished our desserts and the dishes were cleared. Instead of being asked if we would like anything else.... perhaps a coffee, we were asked if we wanted to pay the bill, which was then instantly brought over. Had the dining room been busy and people been waiting for tables, we could have perhaps excused the swiftness of it's arrival, but there were lots of empty spaces, so this was clearly not the case. Once the bill had been handed over there was no time to look through it as usually happens anywhere else, as the waitress then proceeded to stand and wait for payment! On this occasion we had already decided to pay cash, which she watched us count out, and then before taking it to the bar asked if she needed to return any change back to the table!!! Normally we wouldn't dream of not leaving a tip for staff wherever we go, and had the change just been returned back to the table, we wouldn't have hesitated to leave that and probably more, but to be almost pushed out of the door and then the expectation of the waitress for the money to be just kept, on principle we decided we would not on this occasion and perhaps staff should be given more training on how to treat their customers!

The bar itself layout bit odd you kinda feel like your walking into the wrong area when you walk in. Their isent any clear que . Feels like it needs a revamp but I get its likely a listed building. The walking in and out I just felt I was intruding on people's tables. I can't describe it. I feel the entrance and exit needs a new layout/look the little bubbles to eat in looked cool

I had lasagne, salad, and chips. Not usually a chips fan, but these were the best I've ever had.

We have just had an incredible meal at The Top Pub, great service and lovely atmosphere. We’ve been a few times before but will definitely be back really soon

I love everything about this pub, the staff, the atmosphere, the food, the customers! Everyone is so friendly and in a short time I have made lots of new friends. The landlady puts her heart and soul into the pub and ensures everyone has a good time. As a female I feel completely safe going into this pub alone!

Unfortunately the pub no longer serves food so we had a swift pint and left. Such a shame the home made steak & ale pie was awesome.
