R&A Chinese Takeaway in Swale

So surprised by the reviews, tonight we ordered our first delivery from R&A through Deliveroo and it was delicious! It came super quickly and before the expected time. We had the chicken vermicelli, chicken chow mein, salt and pepper chips, pork dumplings, curry sauce and they sent with free prawn crackers and free veg spring rolls. Everything was delicious. My son who doesn’t even like Chinese said it was fab. We’ve never ordered from R&A before but I’d say give them a go as it’s Friday night so I assume busy and it was great!

WARNING !! This place will give you a menu that is 4 years out of dat , then charge you much more and say it's a price increase !! The most expensive Chinese in Sittingbourne , Dinner Garden by the station is 10/10

We had takeaway delivered on 2nd September 2023. The order was 2 hours late as they originally mixed it up sending us another person's dinner and vice versa. On phoning them they asked to box up the order and they'll collect it to swap it around-this was after they had asked me to open up each item to tell them what was in it so that they could identify the order. When I suggested that this was unhygienic and unacceptable as we had opened the food before realising, and the other party was likely to have done the same, they agreed to send a newly cooked order. Whilst eating the finally delivered food my sister experience this thin black/silver wire in her mouth, almost swallowing it, and it came from the beef black bean sauce she was eating. We were all instantly turned off the food, worried what else might be in it, and so had to dump the lot.

Poor . Everyrhing was very dry and sticky. The crispy chilli beef was inedible. Delivery time was excellent but food quality was a let down .

Awful delivery and service. Waited over two hours for our food, when we hadn't even ordered much. Complained on the phone multiple times and I just kept getting empty apologies. I feel sorry for the driver, he seemed nice and they were just constantly blaming him, even though they hadn't even started cooking our food for an hour and a half. It arrived with soggy chips and batter on chicken balls. Not worth the wait or effort of chasing in the slightest.

Ordered at 5-45 finally delivered at 7-15 not worth the wait really really bad meat was chewy and disgusting £33-50worth of Chinese that went straight in the bin what a waste of money we used to use them all the time but never again avoid at all costs

Eggless egg fried rice, effectively oily fried rice, burnt beef chow mein and chicken balls where the batter is not cooked (slimy) and the outer overcooked and greasy. Had enough. Third time for burnt noodles, this happened twice before in the previous 10 months. I have been a customer since about 1998, Now i am done.

Where do I start? We have been using r&a Chinese for years on a Friday night. We have never had an issue. Was always greeted to a very nice lady on the phone who you could have a chat too while ordering. The food was upove and beyond our expectations, until recently, the food has very very over cooked and just disgusting to eat. You call and tell them about it just to listen to a very rude man saying he can’t do anything that there isn’t an issue with there food it was us. After a while he then agreed to send us out replacements. They were a little better but not what we usually expect. We then get told that they have a new chef who clearly doesn’t know how to cook food apart from burning it and also sacked the very nice women on the phone. Not a nice place.

We ordered a delivery last night and it is above our expectations. The crispy duck is really delicious and the spring rolls too. Will definitely recommend!

Used R&A for years as they did half n half portions (pick n mix) but now they have stopped doing a pick n mix menu it's quite expensive. others have started to do this so order from them instead.

I've used quite a few Chinese's in Sittingbourne and this one is the best by far. Any minor issues have always been rectified without issue. Any notes or requirements have always been met. Delivery times do vary, but it's always arrived hot for me. I once pre ordered for 17:55 and it arrived at 17:11 which I couldn't ask for quicker delivery and promt service. Will definitely recommend and use again. Thanks R&A

We use to always use this take away and loved it. Just moved back to the area and thought would use them tonight. The aromatic Duck was full of fat and soggy and got thrown straight in the bin. The chips were soggy as was the spring rolls. The beef and onions didnt look appetizing plus had a couple of nuts in. Definitely wont be using again

Food never arrived after taking out money and never answer the phone avoid like the plague. What a joke of an establishment

I would advise not to order food here. I used this takeaway delivery for the first time this eve. They got my order wrong, it was also cold. I called them and they sent another order. Although it was what I ordered, the food was extremely sub standard! I ate as much as I could as I was so hungry after waiting so long. I am now feeling very sick. I will never order from here again.

It was closed for two weeks!! so we ordered other chinese very nice from the other chinese 😀 ordered tonight it was disgusting chicken balls, curry puff, spring rolls all cremated chicken chow mein is tasteless the special fried rice was all clumped together portion size drastically reduced in size!!!!! (Thats why they shut for a refurb so they could up the price!!!!!) never ever ordering food from them again i have been a loyal customer for the best part of over a year appalling food and to up the price on the food is shocking good luck with all the bad reviews also found out it only has a 1star 🤢 food of the value of nearly £30 in the bin

I have used this Chinese for sometime now I like the pick & mix which is good Value The food is tasty, always hot. The delivery service is good too & you don't have to spend £££ to get a delivery I recommend this Chinese give it a try

We ordered take away as we worked late one evening. I must say that hot and sour soup when I opened it smelled of only vinegar, plenty of meat in it but didn`t smell or look right. Peanut sauce for satay chicken had consistency of snot and probably walked past peanuts on shelf in shop. Delivery was very quick and service very good but food not much.

This used to be my favourite takeaway but now after a number of problems/bad service I unfortunetly will never use them again. The Sweet and Sour chicken balls almost raw on a number occasions. Other food you can taste that it's been reheated from frozen. The sweet chilli sauce from the chicken thai style tastes like it comes from a bottle. Any attempts to discuss this with them has not gone well or changed the way they do things.

Tried pretty much all Chinese take-aways in Sittingbourne and this is by far the best in my option. Quality food. Arrives hot - fast delivery service. Nice portions. I have used this take-away serval times now and will continue to.

Ordered a takeaway for family simple order but they forgot my husbands can drink Diet Coke phoned up lady said sometime tonight I said I need it now she said look your get it how rude!!! 20 mins later no drink my husbands diabetic so had go shop get it called agsin was shouted at you have already called she kept saying ok ok ok shouting at me how rude 1 hour later they turn up with coke - yeah great for diabetic don’t ever be ordering there again nor will my family and I have 3 sons all have families of there own so you have lost a lot business goodbye good riddance and your portions are smaller

Have sampled several Chinese take away over the years but this is by far the best. Consistent quality every time.

Food isn't greasy at all and chow mien has proper chicken in it! Best Chinese I have had! Deffo recommend getting your Chinese from here!

R & A are very prompt with their deliveries , food is always freshly cooked and arrives piping hot. Good Value and friendly service . would recommend.
