The last time we came to Edinburgh we absolutely wanted to try the renowned Quinns and we ended up taking our breakfast there everyday. For this new stay, we couldn't go back without getting there again and we were not disappointed! The menu has some novelties that are very welcomed. For example, the stacked version of the Scottish breakfast that enables smaller stomachs to keep on enjoying Mike's delicious food! (I had taken an extra for the bacon and the mushrooms in the version I'm showing in the photo). Mike came to every table to ask his customers what they had planned for the day, offering precious tourism recommandations at the same time. If you want a fulfilling and a feel like home breakfast, the Quinn's is the place to visit!

Wonderful experience here. Went with my family and our toddler. Didn’t seem to have a high chair but we brought our travel one. The food came out in a respectable amount of time but they still came out and apologized for it taking so long which was great service. Servers were very friendly and food was great

This cafe is fantastic and lives up to the reviews it has received. We visited this morning (17/07/24) for breakfast based on the Trip Advisor recommendation; it did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and happy to explain all the ingredients of their substantial breakfast dishes to their customers (many of whom are tourists and have probably never tackled a Full Scottish breakfast before!!). The food is fantastic, cooked to order, and sets you up for a day of sightseeing. It is also reasonably priced and cheaper than many hotel breakfasts in the city!! Thank you to the Hibees Chef for directions to the Hearts Ground!! Lovely cafe and we will come again!!

Decided to visit this cafe on the back of the glowing Tripadvisor reviews....in fact we went out of our way to find it. When we did, it is unassuming and unpretentious- it's not even that big inside, but we were lucky on a wet Wednesday mid morning to find a table. All three of us ordered drinks and breakfasts. My wife, the American breakfast, my daughter a small breakfast (they deliberately don't refer to their non Scottish breakfast options as 'English' breakfasts!) and myself the large breakfast.....again not the Scottish option, as I am not a great fan of Haggis or black pudding, which the Scottish breakfasts include. All three breakfasts were very good, and nothing to complain about at all. Again, the three drinks we had....hot chocolate, Americano and a can of the fizzy stuff were all good. At the end of our meal, the chef/owner came over to ask how the meal was, and realising we were tourists offered a load of 'inside information' as to where to go and what to see. Nice guy and very helpful.

The first time I was at Quinn's was 2 years ago and I promised I would be back. Well I did and it is still as good as I remember it. The place is small and homely a few steps away from the Grassmarket where you have a lovely view of the castle, the tea is hot and plenty and the staff is adorable and efficient. Even if it is full you rarely have to wait more than 15 minutes. Vegetarian option is available and also tasty. I highly recommend going to Quinn's for breakfast and I will probably do so every time I am back in Edinburgh, next time I will hope to have space in my luggage for a mug !

Lovely welcoming service and food was spot on. BLT and cheese and beans on toast with scrambled eggs, croissant and a smoothie, all tasty, plentiful and served with a smile. Would recommend and visit again.

We went for our breakfast before starting our full day of shopping and it was delicious! I had a sausage slice and egg butty and it was exactly what was needed! I got a cup of tea and I loved that it came in a proper mug. The staff was lovely and we had a really nice chat with the waitress there. (Unfortunately I didn’t get her name but I know she has a corgi!)

Myself and my wife were warmly greeted from the rain the moment we walked through the doors at ‘Quinn’s cafe’ after we had sort it out following other Tripadvisor reviews. Very comfortable seating at the table where our order was taken straightaway. We both had the Scottish breakfast which did not disappoint. Eggs beans lawn sausage haggis black pudding…the works. Cooked and served to us within no time at all. Just a stones throw from Grassmarket you will not be disappointed if you wake up hungry and feel like trying the traditional Scottish fare. We chose Quinn's for brunch for our first morning in Edinburgh - it was a couple of doors down from our Airbnb and luckily when we arrived at around 11am we were able to be seated pretty much straight away. It's only a small cafe so seating is limited. We both ordered a Scottish breakfast which was hearty and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. It really set us up for a day of sightseeing. We did go back on the Sunday hoping for bacon sandwiches but it was closed.
