Dine Thyme in Edinburgh, City of

Ordered the night before for delivery between 9 and 9.30; two cooked breakfasts with apple juice and orange juice with cutlery for delivery by Deliveroo. All was as expected of a cooked breakfast that had travelled a couple of miles. Surprisingly it was still hot and very tasty, greaaaaat sausage and extra bacon ;-) We were also surprised with the added touches of extra ketchup, salt, pepper, hand wipes and of course the two packets of Haribo that we received. The delivery was exactly on time by the lovely Tomasz. If you see this I'm sorry you didn't get a tip. We had no cash on us and being a Deliveroo virgin I couldn't work the app out properly, between that and my banking app it was all lost in the cloud somewhere. Thank you

Tried today this little, barely noticeable from Leith Walk place. And it exceeded all expectations! The gentleman who works there is super nice and friendly.😊 Good variety of food, decent price, great service. Thank you very much!

Delicious, affordable breakfast!

Actually the loveliest place! Got a morning roll, the works breakfast box and two coffees and they were perfect! Everything was lovely and fresh, cooked perfectly and more than worth the money. Awesome food, great customer service, genuinely a great place! Thank you!

Clearly high quality ingredients, freshly cooked, all nicely wrapped up to take away (a small amount of indoor/outdoor seating available too) and incredible value for money. If you get The Works, it really does mean The Works! Brilliant service and the whole place is sparkling clean with a really comforting vibe. Highly recommended, such a hidden gem!

Good coffee,great bacon and sausage roll,I'm not one to eat breakfast,but this was very good ,I also learned something.... Dreich ...been here in Scotland over a year and not heard till now ... every day is a learning day :)

Dropped in to Dine Thyme for a quick mocha but ended up talking to the owner for ages. He’s so knowledgeable about Edinburgh and best places to eat. Cafe is lovely with beautiful hanging baskets outside that are very well taken care of. Sat outside at a street table and noticed how busy it was with locals and deliveries so it’s very popular! Would definitely recommend and looking forward to dropping in again for a sandwich.

Dropped in while walking down Leith Walk as it looked very inviting with beautiful hanging baskets outside. Coffee was delicious. It was very busy with people coming in for light lunches and delivery services for take away. It’s clearly a very popular place and the menu looked really good value. Sat outside with my coffee and chatted with the very friendly owner. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

Im generally rather selective over the reviews i bother giving, but after popping by Dine Thyme, I had to. It would be 5 stars for the service alone, but add to that the food...well I couldn't of been happier. Its places like this that really show what large chain establishments are missing. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be stopping by. Five stars all the way!!!

I visited this place on my trip to Edinburgh recently, a great independent cafe. The service was gamazing I Had a breakfast roll and a coffee while sitting outside enjoying the weather while we have it. The flowers outside gives it a unique charm

A lovely independent cafe! Yummy, freshly prepared, good quality food. Great value, with friendly and professional service. Dine Thyme is also in a great spot - just a few minutes’ walk from Waverley station, set back from the main road in an almost traffic-free area. I enjoyed my breakfast outside and would definitely go back on my next trip to Edinburgh.

Lovely place that serves amazing breakfast baps.They even kindly gave us a bottle of water for free.I will 100% come back in the future.

I used to go here regularly for a cheeky tuna pannini. Lovely and quiet wee spot in amongst the bustle of Leith. Food is simple and tasty, and Scott is super friendly. Shame I changed jobs and I'm now at the other end of the city. Thanks!

Guys. I ordered a breakfast via uber eats and was easily one of the worst meals I've ever had. All microwaved and low quality food from at least 1 day ago. Do not eat here

A place I visit numerous times a week. Love going here during my lunch times to enjoy the panini’s Scott has to offer (he now knows my order without me having to say a word!). Highly recommend this place if you are after good quality at a reasonable price.

We wanted to avoid touristic places and we founded this super small nice place! The omelettes are delicious and the owner is such a nice and interesting person, thank you again 💘

This cafe is a hidden gem. It’s tiny (3 seats inside, 2 outside) but the omelettes, soup and jacket potatoes were just the simple no-nonsense food we were looking for. Very reasonably priced, great host and the omelettes were the best we’ve had anywhere :)

Popped in here for a bite of lunch (and to see the lovely Scott) excellent choice of fresh homemade food. Very popular place. And a surprise birthday cake as well 😊 thoroughly recommend a visit if you're visiting the area.

I have been using Dine Thyme for well over a year and in that time I can honestly say I have not a bad word to say about the food and the service. Whatever I ask for our business I get and Scott is always there to help with any menu ideas that I need for lunches. Lets keep the our business local and give a little back by supporting Scott!! I Have been visiting Dine Thyme since it opened as I work nearby on Tuesday and Friday Afternoons. It is always great to see Scott and enjoy the Homemade Soup of the Day which is always excellent. Great value too!

From the warmest of welcomes to the heartiest of soups I was most certainly warmed up on a cold day. The range of food available is impressive and the quality could not be faulted. I have visited before and it’s always fantastic. Whenever I’m in the city it’s definitely going to be my go to for supplies for my walking and exploring.

Dine Thyme is terrific! The food is excellent, the prices are excellent and the owner, Scott, is a treasure. The place is impeccably clean, the food is always fresh. He does all his own cooking, so you know that everything is really home made. He has very interesting and varied lunch specials at great prices. I love his chicken mayo, and have it regularly. Fresh and tasty. You can also sit in at a little counter if you want to have a longer chat with Scott while you slurp your fresh home made soup.

Working only a street away, this is an ideal cafe for morning cravings as well as hearty lunchtime meals. The food absououtley amazing and the service is even better. Food quality is always to an up most standard and very affordable. The banter is wonderful and every customer always walks out with a smile on their face

Most days I wander up Leith Walk, on the way to work, feeling tired and low. But then I think about Dine Thyme, and how good a breakfast roll would be. And so, most days, I take a swift left turn and head for Scott's lovely little shop. It's bright and clean and the welcome is always warm, no matter how cold the day. The food is simple and tasty and the coffee is wonderful. So FORGET about Costa, and FORGET about Starbucks. Support a local business instead and discover better food at better prices with a good bit of banter too. Seriously, mornings aren't the same without a visit here.

If you like your breakfast rolls, panninis, even the cakes he sells at the front of the counter are really tasty.......best bacon and egg roll going.....really clean, well looked after , spot on can't fault this place for a bite to eat ....coffee is good aswell :) .

Everything I've had here is delicious. The Scottish breakfast is particularly tasty and comforting. It's a quick in and out with really good prices and lots of flavor. All around, it's a great experience. I highly recommend!

I discovered Dine Thyme whilst on a business trip and staying in a hotel around the corner. What a fantastic find, you won't be disappointed dining here. The breakfast was well cooked by Scott, well presented and very reasonably priced and be sure not to miss his freshly ground coffee!

I have used Dine Thyme regularly since Scott took over and transformed this neat little shop. Freshly made soups and some fantastic specials to accompany his freshly made filled rolls that never disappoint. Scott gives brilliant service, listens to his customers and even provided the mustard of my choice! His lunchtime meal deals are great value.

Found this place a few weeks ago, was hungry (and hungover) on a Saturday.

One of the best restaurants I have been to amazing anyone who wants one of the best meals should definitely go to this fantastic shop.

Amazing prices for real Scottish food. The food is very good from the haggis to lasagna and macaroni and cheese, it's all excellent. Worth a 20 minute walk for the prices. Very friendly and efficient service, too.
