My wife, our first son Max , Lucie (his girlfriend) and I had an amazing evening at the restaurant "Quindicci" in Loughton on Saturday early evening. It was my first visit (Max and his mother's second). I thought everything was great, the welcome, the food (I had calamari or "squid" starter wich was so nice (my son tried it too), the calves liver was great (things that I don't really cook at home), served with new potatoes green beans and a very good sauce. For pudding usually my choice would have been Tiramisu but I was curious about the white chocolate profiterolles and "wow" yet again not disappointed, not too sweet, like a light creamy white chocolate sauce, altogether the meal was great. Unfortunately I could not join with the wich they all said how good it was / how much they enjoyed it, "White Baccrollo" , my wife had the cod on the specials board, it was really enjoyed too. So Thank you all on this Saturday evening, I definitely suggest the place to friends and familly and would happily return. Guy Lacaze.

A warm welcome and good service. We shared calamari and arancini to start. Both tasty. We all had various pasta dishes for mains - all good and tiramisu for dessert. It wasn’t cheap but good food, good service and nice ambience.

From the public car park, it's just a short walk to the welcoming lights of Quindici. It nestles in a quiet, rustic lane. The decor remains unchanged: warm lighting with light-coloured walls, and large windows on the right which gives an airy feel to the restaurant. There's a full-bar with seating on your left. We were greeted by Sergei and Luis and shown to our table by the window. The chat and pleasantries soon began with Luis and Sergei. Armed with complimentary Proseccos, and good background music, we perused quite a varied menu, especially when you include their specials' board. We soon made our selection: Arancini, Beef Capaccio, and Capesante; all was beautifully presented and prepared. Our mains consisted of Spaghett alla Quindici; Mahi Mahi fish with a lemon sauce; and Linguine Gamberone: all of it was full of flavour, and the Mahi Mahi fish was superb in meatiness and taste. This culinary excellence was baptised with a splendid Primitivo: an Italian full-bodied red with a hint of sweetness which complemented our meal perfectly. We were too full for dessert, but concluded this gastronomic debauchery with lemon tea, cappuccino, black Americano, and Sambucas - plus, complimentary ones from our gracious hosts - thanks, Sergei! Yet again, Quindici has hit the benchmark in culinary brilliance, service, chat, and laughter. Our compliments to the chefs for their artistry in the 'hot room', and huge 'thank you' to all at Quindici for any uplifting dining experience. Until the next time, keep smiling and be happy. Ciao.

We visited this amazing restaurant last weekend. The food was absolutely amazing! Me and my husband eat out often this is deffo one of our favourites, if not the favourite. We had the scallops and calamari for starters and they were some of the best starters we’ve had out! So fresh. Service was also amazing. Can’t wait to return

We are regular visitors to the restaurant but this was our first takeaway. I did wonder if certain dishes would be “soggy” after the journey home but I can honestly say it was as good as eating in. My boyfriend and I recently visited Quindici and we had such a lovely evening. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, with a lovely atmosphere inside the restaurant. The food was delicious! I had scallops to start, my boyfriend had the clams. Beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. After booking Quindici for a family birthday meal and paying £370 (5 adults & 5 kids with 4 pints, no wine and a few soft drinks) we would of expected a nicer experience and better quality food. The lamb was fatty and very rare, the portion of roast beef was tiny (2 small thin slices) and the veg wasn’t hot.The service was ok but the waiter was quite abrupt when we questioned a few issues with our pre order and all the staff could be friendlier.Definitely better places to eat and very over priced for Loughton.

Recommended by friends and glad they did! Had a great family meal here last night, the welcome was warm and sincere and continued throughout with great attentive service but not in your face. 1 had the carpaccio of beef and4 of us had the scallops starter which a bit on the small size but packed a fantastic flavour punch, if I was at home I would have licked the plate! (May have used a bit of bread though!). We all had different mains, Ravioli, fillet steak tagliatelle, lamb chops and sea food linguine all of which were superb and not a bit left on the plate. Waiter very knowledgable with the wine and recommended a very nice red which went down too well. Sweet and coffees done the bill arrived and although not cheap it was worth every penny. Thanks for a great night and will definitely be back.

Three of us invaded this lovely eatery. It was early evening and the sun was still shining. There were some diners already enjoying al fresco joys on the terrace. On entering, we were soon welcomed with friendly warmth by James - proprietor extraordinaire, Luis, Denis, and Sergei; it was lovely seeing them all again, and the chat and laughter flowed accordingly. We were shown to our table, and armed with complimentary Proseccos we perused the menu and their specials' board. It's quite a varied selection of seafood, fish, meats, and vegetarian that should suit most palates. Now, armed with a perfectly concocted Aperol Spritz, we made our selection. Two of us went for the Mango alla Granchio, and one went for the calve's liver; these starters were perfectly presented and prepared: the crab was fresh, and contrasted refreshingly with the mango; while the liver was tender and full of flavour. They say that great minds think alike: we all had the same mains - Spaghetti alla Quindici; the pasta was on the right side of al dente, and the seafood had absorbed the flavour of the sauce. We're still salivating. This culinary perfection was baptised with a beautifully chilled Sauvignon. Being gastronomes of the 1st Order, we dutifully found room for desserts: Torta della Nonna, chocolate fudge cake with caramel ice cream, and white chocolate profiteroles. This gastronomic extravaganza was concluded with a cappuccino, black coffee, and lemon tea with black Sambucas and a Limoncello. Throughout the meal the chat and laughter was wonderful, and the background music supplied added atmosphere. Our compliments to the talented chefs, and a huge thank you to James, Denis, Luis, and Sergei for making our dining experience a memorable one. We will be back. Keep smiling till then. Ciao.

Generic Italian. Average.Starter - Bruschetta: tomatoes weren’t fresh enough to give the texture needed to counteract the bread. No distinguishing garlic and/or basil flavour and lacking overall of the distinctive freshness of good bruschetta. 5/10.Mains - seafood spaghetti. Tasty dish but, personally, I dislike having to de-shell mussels, clams and prawns. Prawns hugely overcooked and bordering mushy. Spaghetti cooked well and overall flavour lovely. 6/10Dessert - lacking coffee and boozy flavour running through an excellent tiramisu. Disappointing. Essentially, this dessert consisted of cream and a bit of chocolate and little else. 5/10Cost - £80 for two people. Poor value for money considering the lack of flavour and flair throughout. Wouldn’t go back.Atmosphere - buzzy and busy. From looking around it didn’t seem as if many groups were blown away by quality of food.Service - started OK when restaurant less busy but took 20mins to get the bill despite asking repeatedly when restaurant had filled up somewhat. Overall - Having has high expectations from previous reviews and general feedback, this was not a good experience and we left feeling like everything we ate could have been better with a little more care and respect to the ingredients. We won’t be back unless things change.

Have visited twice recently, for lunch and dinner. In truth the lunchtime experience was more enjoyable as the restaurant was calmer and quieter. The evening was exceptionally busy with many large groups and we had chosen the restaurant to meet up with some friends that we hadnt seen for some time - sadly conversation was very difficult without screaming at each other! But that doesnt take away from a very good restaurant with some really great cooking and really terrific staff despite how busy they were in the evening. Most in our party ordered something different and everybody absolutely loved their food.I decided on one of the specials which was a chicken dish with a Gorgonzola sauce and it was delicious....and i must add that their Bruschetta is one of the most authentic i have tasted. In addition the menu is well priced for both food and drink. We will most certainly return to Quindici but will restrict ourselves to lunctimes and midweek evenings.....I heartily reccommend you try!

My sister Gilda, and I visited this brilliant eatery on Wednesday night and we weren't disappointed. You travel up a rustic lane to the lighted entrance, which is like a beacon welcoming you. The decor remains unchanged: light colours that give it an airy feel with a full bar and seating opposite the entrance. We were greeted with friendly warmth by Sergei and Luis, and shown to our table of choice. Armed with complimentary Proseccos, we made our choice from a varied menu of meat, seafood, and fish dishes, which should suit most palates. The background music was great and added atmosphere. Gilda went for the Mango al Granchio, and loved the contrasting flavours of the mango and fresh crab; I devoured my seared scallops with crispy bacon on the top and a tasty drizzle of sauce. Gilda then attacked her Vongole with merciless relish; I twirled my way through a rich-tasting Spaghetti alla Quindici, and the seafood was prepared to perfection. This culinary excellence was christened with a lovely Sauvignon, which complemented our meal sublimely. We found room for dessert: Gilda had the Tiramisu, which she wolfed down without drawing breath; I savoured my Torta della Nonna, which was light and tasty. We concluded this gastronomic debauchery with coffees and a black Sambuca for me, plus a courtesy Limoncello from our gracious hosts - grazie mille. Once more, Quindici hits the high note in cuisine, service, and friendliness. Our thanks to Sergei and Luis for the chat and laughter, and our compliments to their talented chefs. This restaurant has been on my “to go to “ list for a while, after seeing and hearing great things about it . As not local to me, so a car journey away, has stayed on my wish list. Today however, we did visit, absolutely blown away by the food, the ambience and the staff, only regret, that I left it so long. Starters were amazing, tried our friends chicken livers, not usually my thing, but very nice, I had the mushrooms in creamy sauce absolutely lovely, my partner and our friend both had the mussels, again faultless. As it’s Sunday, a lovely roast lamb rump was my choice, as was my partner’s . Cooked to perfection, pink and tender. Lovely roast potatoes and glazed roast vegetables with a huge Yorkshire pudding. The gravy, or should I say jus, was so full of flavour. Our friend had the roast beef, equally cooked to perfection, and our other friend had the tagliatelle, with beef strips and mushrooms, again absolutely delicious, ( my next visit choice) The staff were amazing James runs a tight ship, the staff very attentive without being smothering. Very helpful, and very friendly.Overall, I have to say we were really impressed, and this beautiful restaurant is well worth a visit, we will definitely be going back, Last but not least, the espresso martini, was perfect, so perfect I had two x

After about half hour we finally ordered our food to then be told they had run out of roast beef although the table behind us ordered meals half hour after us and they all had roast beef. We finished a bottle of wine before our mains finally arrived. Food very average. Lamb was fatty, veg cold and Yorkshire puddings were stodgy. Waiter seemed very busy and stressed maybe they were short staffed. We didn’t order desert as didn’t want to wait an hour for it to arrive! My husband and I went to Quindici this weekend it was our 3rd visit and definitely our worst. Last time we visited we found the food quite average but thought it was worth another try. Unfortunately we were wrong. It was busy when we arrived, we were seated quickly however we were left at our table without menus. It took 25 minutes to get anything to drink, I was just desperate for a glass of water at this point. We were bought water and no glasses! The food was disappointing, I had prawns to start which looked amazing but were over cooked and tasteless other than the sauce. My husband lamb chops for his main but they were so over cooked that the meat was grey and tough. The waiter was incredibly stressed which just made us feel awkward. There was no more than a 5 minute gap between courses which meant we were left with half a bottle of wine to finish after our meal. At no point were we pressured to leave our table.

My 3rd time visiting. Sadly I do not get to visit this restaurant enough. I live in central London so I am not local. With having 100s of amazing restaurants on my door step ! I still travel to Essex (40 min drive) to visit Quindici and will continue to when I have Italian. I have ordered a different starter, main and dessert from the menu on each visit. Last night I had the lamb chops, they was amazing. I asked for medium and they was cooked to perfection. They literally melt in your mouth. Flavours are amazing. Will definitely be having these again in my next visit. Also the bread, bread doesn’t seem to get reviews and credit it deserves. The bread is even amazing, lovely and warm and fresh, Our table had 2 baskets although I did allow my friends to have a slice lol. I treated my daughter in law to a birthday meal at Quindici. The food was very nice. My daughter in law was celebrating her 40 birthday and took a bottle of non alcoholic Prosecco to the restaurant. We were told that a charge of £15 would be for corkage. We explained it was a vey special birthday celebration and that she cannot have alcohol as she’s pregnant. This was completely disregarded. We ordered a 3 course meal. When her dessert arrived there was no candle and then we were charged £12 on our bill for bringing our non alcoholic prosecco which this restaurant do not sell. We felt this was very disappointing customer service and very short sighted. We have been to other Italian restaurants in the area who said this was not a problem and no charge.

Yet again, Quindici hits the benchmark of excellence in food, service, and friendly laughter. Three of us invaded this delightful eatery. On our approach up a rustic lane, we could already see that the place was buzzing with diners out on the patio. On entering the restaurant, the decor remains unchanged: neutral colours and large windows that imbue the place with an inviting airiness. It is quite spacious. There is a full bar at the front with seating. It was great catching up with James, the proprietor of this superb establishment, and we were soon shown to a window table. The background music had a very good selection that enhanced the sense of happiness. We were soon joined by Luis and Sergei and the banter flowed accordingly. Armed with complimentary Proseccos - grazie mille! - chilled to the right temperature, we soon made our selections. We all went for the Insalata, which was fresh and appetising. Then one chose the salmon, and two of us decided on the Linguine Crab. The salmon was perfectly prepared: moist yet had absorbed the flavours of the condiments. The Crab Linguine was out of this world; the crab meat was plentiful and tender and had absorbed the flavour of the sauce, while the pasta was on the right side of al dente, which made my fork twirl its way to heaven without incurring any social disasters. This was washed down with a perfectly chilled Sauvignon. The gastronomic gluttony didn't end there: Angela waged a very happy war on a rich, chocolate fudge cake with cream. We concluded this culinary bliss with a Cosmopolitan for me, plus Sambucas, a lemon tea, cappuccino, and a black Americano. We were then joined by Denis, and we had a lovely chat and laugh. This is what Quindici is truly all about: fine food and music shared with friends. James hit the right balance with al fresco or dining in cool civility with the air-con on. Perfect. Our compliments to their chefs for all their efforts and talent, and a huge grazie mille to James, Denis, Luis, and Sergei. Keep smiling, and we'll be seeing you all soon.

A lovely, friendly Italian restaurant in Loughton. A helpful staff, who go out of their way to be accommodating, without being overbearing. A good range of items on the menu and all well-produced, with a good level of seasoning and flavour. Pricing is reasonable, if a bit expensive for some of the dishes, but the ambience, service and quality makes up for it.

Visited here for a family celebration .The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming , we had a drink at the bar before being seated and the table setting was perfect .This restaurant is beautifully decorated and ambience and lighting spot on . The cuisine is not an authentic Italian and it doesn’t claim to be however it is Italian with a fusion twist .They have adapted the food with their own swivels and it works really well , with each of the dishes there is something different .The portion sizes are very generous , you will not go out hungry .The staff go over and above serving you .I had previously heard that the music was too loud but this was not our experience at all ,this venue has a good atmosphere .The price is relevant to the area , we felt we had a good feed for the right money .A great addition to Loughton high road .Looking forward to going again .

My wife, Angela, and I visited this delightful eatery after a longish interval, and we weren't disappointed. Once more, you navigate a rustic lane and enter an inviting interior with an airy feel and warm lighting. There's a full bar with seating, and the restaurant opens up and is quite spacious. We were greeted with welcoming warmth by Denis and Sergei, and the pleasant banter and chat commenced immediately. They are lovely people to know and to talk to. We were shown to our table of choice. Armed with complimentary Proseccos we made our selection from the specials' board and their main menu. Angela chose the scallops with chilli, and I went for the grilled tiger prawns without chilli. Both starters were perfectly prepared and presented. Angela then waged a happy war on her salmon on a dill mash and trimmings, which she observed was out of this world in flavour and texture; I, meanwhile, twirled my way to heaven on the Quindici alla Spaghetti, loving every mouthful of the clams, mussels, and king prawns, relishing the tomato-garlic sauce with a hint of Pernod. This culinary safari was complemented with a light and fruity Sauvignon that was perfectly chilled. We concluded the gastronomic debauchery with a Sambuca and black Americano for me, and a lemon tea for Angela. Just when I thought I had got through the night without any hitches, I knocked over my Sambuca - ouch! But being the gracious hosts that they are, Denis and Sergie replaced it without any fuss and didn't charge me for the replenishment - grazie mille. It was a shame that James wasn't present to catch-up on some gossip. But, no doubt, we'll save that fun in the not too distant future. Our compliments to their chef/chefs for their exemplary efforts, and our heartfelt thanks to Denis and Sergei for an uplifting dining experience. We'll be seeing you soon. Until then, keep smiling and be happy. Ciao.

We were very disappointed with our visit as this was a special occasion for my mother’s birthday. I ordered the mussels with pea and pancetta and this dish was delicious and I complemented the waiter. My mother and father ordered the Chateaubriand as a treat (large portion) and this was ordered as medium rare however when the dish arrived it was over cooked and arrived well done. My parents tried their best to enjoy the dish but it was spoilt as this is not how they enjoy eating their meat or how the Chateaubriand should be served. We informed the waiter and they agreed that this was clearly over done and it should not have been served like this. I myself ordered the fish tower which was nice but it had chilli in the dish and had this been known I would not have ordered it as I would have opted for another dish, however it was nice but it was the maximum spice I can handle with my bland palate. We did ask for the my parents dish to be take off the bill but this could not be honoured. However they did offer us all a free drink and took off my parents deserts. We have been to this restaurant many times before and truly enjoyed each time we have visited and my mother requested this restaurant to enjoy her birthday. However this visit my influence our decision to return to the restaurant.

Went here twice over Christmas. Although the menu isn’t huge the quality of the food is second to none. The decor is very classy and has a lovely atmosphere. An ideal place for couples. Reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. Have booked again for Valentine’s Day. Never felt rushed to vacate our table like some restaurants. Would definitely recommend. Ideal place for fish and pasta lovers.

Went here for our anniversary celebration and thoroughly enjoyed the experience (apart from the sour smell that hit as we entered). The decor was upmarket, clean and stylish with giant floor candles illuminating the place. I chose gamberoni which were literally the largest and meatiest I've ever had. So tasty in a beautiful garlic chilli jus. My husband chose Tagliata di manzo which was delicate and generous. For our mains we chose lamb chops and the chicken with mushrooms. Both were exquisitely presented and utterly delicious. The wine list is reasonably priced and the Merlot was delicious.

Our third visit in the couple of months we have lived in Loughton and still up to the usual high standard we have come to expect from James and his team. Service and ambience fantastic and the food delicious. The crab and mango starter is a combination made in heaven, calves liver and lamb chops were cooked were cooked to perfection. The only thing I regret is that I didn't order the lobster risotto which everyone on the table next to us had and it looked amazing. Thanks and, as I have said before, Michelin standard!

It had been awhile since visiting this superb eatery, and it was great to see the outer lights beckoning you up the quiet lane once more. Upon entering, you're greeted with an airy yet warm ambience, with a full bar at the front with seating. My wife, Angela, and I, were welcomed warmly by James, the proprietor extraordinaire, Denis, and Luis. We were soon shown to our table by James. With complimentary Proseccos - thanks, James - in hand, we perused the menus and the specials' board. It was Thursday night and pleasantly buzzy, which added to the atmosphere. We soon made our selection: Angela and I went for the Gamberoni alla Quindici; Angela's had the chili but mine didn't, but the flavour was out of this world with a lovely smokiness that had permeated the tender flesh of the prawns, which had absorbed the flavour of the sauce - perfecto! My main was the Spaghetti alla Quindici: the pasta was on the right side of al dente, the mussels, clams, and prawns were deliciously tender and had absorbed the flavour of the sauce, and I twirled my way to Heaven without any social disasters. Angela conducted a happy war on her salmon with mashed potatoes, mussels, clams, pancetta, and dill sauce; by her ecstatic expression, she loved every mouthful and remarked that the fish was moist and perfectly prepared, and the whole dish was exquisite. This culinary perfection was christened with a perfectly chilled Sauvignon that complemented our meal superbly. We found room for dessert and went for the Torta della Nonna, which was light and tasty. We concluded this gastronomic safari with a black Americano and Sambuca for me, and a Frangelico and lemon tea for Angela. Plus complimentary Limoncelli from our gracious host, James - thanks yet again. During the meal, Sergei greeted us and found the time to chat. The service never faltered and was professional but friendly with great banter. There have been some criticisms about the volume of the background music; Angela and I can only say, that we found it great with a good selection and at the right decibel level, and we were right beneath one of the speakers. Our compliments to their talented chefs for their efforts, and a huge thank you to James and all at Quindici for a sublime dining experience. Based on this standard, I can unreservedly recommend this restaurant to all who appreciate great food, service, laughter, and chat. We will be back. Until then, keep smiling. Ciao.

In no particular order, gorgeous decor, lovely music, a proper welcome and willingness to fit us in at any time, warm and efficient service and a roast that is the best in the area. Today I asked for mint sauce and instead of serving something from a jar they made me some from scratch. It's little touches that make a massive difference. A very classy Sunday lunch every time.

We ate early evening on a Sunday and there was one other table occupied directly next to ours. The music was so loud we had to shout above it. I asked twice if it could be turned down but was told it was “atmospheric” and that we didn’t want to hear what the people on the next table were saying. I pointed out that they too were shouting above the music so we could hear them anyway.

I made a late booking for 11 people and thought I would not be able to get in. James accommodated us and even offered to stay open a bit later for us so that we did not have to rush. We all got there on time and was tucked away in a corner which we all preferred, it was our own cosy corner. The decor was clean, crisp and the glasses all sparkled ( mention this as the week before we went out and there was lipstick on most of our glasses). We then ordered and the food came out pretty quick, everyone loved their meals! Then desserts... once again all good. Everything was good! great in fact, what a lovely little place... will be returning again. Thanks to the waiter too, he was spot on.

The pasta main courses were worth the visit - authentic vongole, and delicious primavera and pasta with bacon and peas. Unfortunately, the starters were too sweet, most likely because of the addition of balsamic glaze - just not authentic. Bruschetta was on French bread and the tomatoes weren’t flavoursome enough to counteract the balsamic glaze. The restaurant is comfortable and modern but the music is unnecessarily loud meaning you have to talk loudly to be heard at your table. We were told last orders in the kitchen were 7pm (Sunday evening) so we were rushed with our ordering and some foods they’d run out of: calamari and broccoli. My impression is that it’s good for a relaxed family/meal with friends but lacks refinement for a special occasion (our coats sat on the backs of our chairs, the table and menus were sticky and service was abrupt) - but, if all you want is a good plate of pasta (hence the very good rating), it won’t disappoint. With water and bottle of wine and shared desserts, £65 per couple.

My wife and I called for a meal on Friday evening before watching a performance at East 15 where my son is a student. Having travelled down from Derbyshire earlier in the day, and spent a few hours in Cambridge on the way, we wanted a nice quiet meal and time to relax before the show. We choose wisely, as early evening the restaurant was quiet (later I suspect it will be very busy), but the pasta was superb and the service perfectly judged by the friendly and unobtrusive, but friendly staff. We will no doubt call again next time we are in Loughton.

Quindici serves some of the best pasta I've eaten in London (literally the whole of London). Sorry no pictures on this occasion. On top of great food, the service is fantastic. This was the 3rd visit for us and I was unfortunately on a low complex carb day. The staff were so accommodating and the chef made me a special grilled chicken salad which wasn't on the menu. We can not fault the food or service. The only minor negative is that some areas of the restaurant have seats situated directly under speakers and this recent visit we could barely hear ourselves think, and felt like we had to shout to talk to each other. So if you are irritated by music whilst you eat, make sure you request a table further from the speakers. ENJOY!!

Visited Two Kitchens Saturday afternoon at 5-30pm to celebrate my granddaughters 12th birthday, food was great from the sushi, pizzas, sirloin steak, chicken noodle dishes along with great deserts, our waiter was attentive, friendly and welcoming, only disappointment was a member of staff asked the kids to be quite, well it's 5-30 on a Saturday afternoon and they have a kids menu ? Other than that recommend and will use again. Paid parking available opposite.

Visited this restaurant for my brother's birthday with the family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was absolutely superb and the waiters were very friendly. Would maybe recommend to the waiters to wait until all persons have finished eating before clearing the table as it did cause some to feel slightly awkward, but apart from that they made my brother feel really special and we would definitely return. Fully recommend!!
