This is a great shop that has a range of their own cheeses as well as a range of other cheeses- some local. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, offering advice and tastings if you're nor sure what you want. In addition to the cheese, there are chutneys and jams, local her and a variety of crackers and bread available. Highly recommend a visit.

Produce excellent. Prices high. Service grumpy. Service should be friendly and helpful but this reminded me of the days of old when customers were left feeling that the shop was doing them the favour.

Me and my partner arrived to a basically empty car park but going inside we were pleasantly surprised! The lady who served us was delightful and let us try some cheeses and cut bits however big we wanted. The goats cheese was the best I've ever had and the range of cheeses they had was amazing! As a cheese lover I was very impressed and got some to take home!

Used to go quite regularly, now closed for business. Such a shame as it was convenient for breakfast, light lunches and after school break.

As previous contributor has said, very poor customer relations as from trip advisor the restaurant appears open and the shop and kitchen are signed up on the approach road but go in and park, get out of he car and walk up to the door and you find a small notice saying sorry restaurant closed. Very pleasant gentleman did appear and tell us it was hoped it would open again soon but we won't be back to find out!!!

do not waste your time stopping here as the restaurant is closed down which is very annoying when you search the internet and find listings confirming opening hours etc which clearly need to be all removed

We went for a cheeseboard but ended up having a Sunday roast and a game pie followed by the cheeseboard. Everything was fresh and fantastic. I'll return whenever I get the chance, especially with friends who are visiting Devon.

After 3 hours walking the cheese making facility our family of 5 welcomed the sumptious lunch. If visiting make sure you are hungry - mounds of vegetables and meat. Well cooked and well presented. Excellent staff.

Visited for lunch and was excellent. It poured all through and it was like being in a drum as the seating area is in a fixed "tent"Friendly service and nice food although the preparation of the food by the chefs still seems unfocussed. Stuff was often waiting on the counter to be completed by the chefs without any obvious reason.

We dropped in to the farm shop and stayed for lunch. All four of us had a great meal, including an amazing game pie, chicken pie, burger and soufflé. Ate more than we planned but no regrets. Highly recommended.

It is in a spot that could be potentially a great alternative to the local pubs, and away from Crediton.Good source of delicatessen next door though. If only it had the Sunday papers, or evening a mixture of good quality magazines that just make it less formal.

A roomy , clean, very individual place to eat. Good home made food with a good "specials board". Mainly cheese based, I chose an excellent steak and local ale pie, (not a floater) with cheese pastry, served with fresh vegetables. One of the best pies I have had for some time, very tender steak which had no fat or gristle.Very friendly, attentive staff. I look forward to my next visit.

There is a shop where goodies can be bought such as cheese and pickles. The pie we had in the restaurant contained plenty of chunks of meat and buttery melt in the mouth pastry. Home-made cakes are available. The restaurant caters for vegetarians too. The service in the shop and restaurant are excellent. I must apologize for alarming the waiting staff, as we were saving some of the meat for our dog. We made up a doggy bag using a paper serviette and piling some of the meat into this. When I paid the bill I was told that the waitress thought something was wrong with the meal and I explained what we had been doing.

Ordered drinks and food, but when our meals arrived were told the specials board hadn't been updated from the previous day and our lamb kofta came with Mediterranean couscous instead of being in a brioche bun. Pretty poor not to mention this until delivering the food. The couscous was couscous containing (a lot of) beetroot, so not overly convinced by the Mediterranean tag. My veg lasagne was nice, but sorely overpriced in my opinion. When paying a couple of pounds were knocked off because of the couscous / brioche thing. After good previous experiences this would sadly make me think again.

Easy to find off the main road and also has a wonderful farm shop. The food is good, well presented and tasty. Only light meals, snacks and afternoon tea type items but good. It is really only a semi-permanent marquee so it may get cold in the winter, but in the summer it is lovely as the sides can be opened. Good eggs benedict and also the breakfast is excellent. However the only downside is the very poor standard of cleanliness in the loos. Needs to be addressed.

This recently opened restaurant is a great addition to the local amenities. The food is good and the staff friendly and helpful. It is mainly for light lunches and teas and only rarely open in the evenings. On site there is a farm shop, and additional facilities are constantly being added.

Met my friend here for lunch pleasant outlook clean and friendly service. I had a savoury tea which was delicious and good value for a light meal and my friend had quiche which she said was very nice. The price is average around the £7 to £8 mark and they make a good cup of tea. Outside seating is available and a great play area for children.

Had lunch here for the first time. I was surprised at the limited menu. The day we went there were only four options for lunch ie four dishes. What we had was nice and well presented but took 45 minutes to come out. Hopefully the service will get better and the range expand as they get more established

Went at lunchtime and front of house staff were excellent though apparently little leadership. The staff worked so hard but seemed unfocussed! Food would arrive at the pass and then wait to be delivered to customers. So much of a review is subjective and to a degree is dependent on what food you choose. We were not offered menus and thought that what was on offer was on the blackboard. We chose the quiche which was poor with tough corgette skin [inedible] and Mary Berrt's horror a very soggy bottom! Really I think only 3 1/2 but I am feeling kind. The service was as I have implied rather scatterbrained and slow! The ice cream [presumably made on the farm] was excellent and the coffee was good.I have been before and enjoyed it more; I will go again.

We took the tour of the cheese factory & found it overpriced at £ 13 for a short noisy walk around a small operation. Not much to see & hard to heR guide because of excessive noise.Lunch also expensive, mine quite tasteless, but other guests found their food was good.

Stopped in for lunch the other day, and ordered the eggs benedict but not before asking whether the Hollandaise was home made (hate the canned stuff). Yes, it is home made and sat on top of two perfectly done poached eggs, local ham, and English muffins. Served with one of the best salads I've ever tasted, lots of interesting leaves. In short, best Eggs Benedict I ever had. Sat outside in the sunshine, great lunch.

Telephoned to book and said that we may be bringing a dog. We were told that dogs were not allowed in the dining room which was fair enough, however we could eat in the bar. As there were 5 of us we decided not to take the dog and I rang and told them so and asked to book the dining area. When we arrived I went to the dining area to be greeted by a rather large dog, (which turned out to be the owners,) which was slobbering everywhere as it walked around the room. I then found out that we had been put in the bar. We then had to walk through the dining room to where the food was being served and then back into the bar which was becoming busy. We were sat around a table in the middle of the bar with people constantly back and forth. It was a nightmare. Needless to say we won’t be returning

Our first time at the Lamb for a while, and sadly it didn't live up to expectations. The pub had long been known for great locally produced food, great beer with a warm and lively atmosphere. We visited mid-week and found the experience to be rather underwhelming. The menu has some wonderful dishes on it, alongside some pub classics - not exciting, but a solid menu. We ordered a variety of starters and mains. The waitress returned to our table to deliver our food and told us there had been a mistake in the kitchen and that the mains were being prepared to come out with or before the starters. It seems to us that the chef wanted to go home promptly, as the kitchen closed at 8pm and this was as around 1945. My wife had the cod tacos and they were brilliant - tasty, well presented and truly creative. My children had the kids beef burgers and I had a chicken burger. The burgers weren't great. The children's burger was just a plain burger in a bap, (no option for cheese etc). They both complained the burger was dry. My chicken burger was tasty, but the chicken was overcooked and therefore quite tough on the edges. The chips were fantastic! Dessert was good. We were informed the kitchen had no cream and that meant a couple of the dishes were off/needing to be adapted. Three tasty puddings (ice creams and the sundae) arrived and were enjoyed by all. Overall it fell below expectations. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but it isn't a shadow of what it once was. I hope our visit was not typical. The Lamb holds a special place in my heart and it is painful to write a review that isn't gushing with admiration. But sadly it was the worst meal we had out this week. Another local pub the following night showed us just what was missing. A plea to the Lamb team - rather than defending criticism and feedback (which your reviews are full of), embrace it and improve. It's an amazing spot but it isn't hitting the mark at present. It can be so much more than it is today.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at Penquen Fish Bar! The cod was enormous and perfectly cooked—so fresh and tasty. The chips were equally great, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Overall, a fantastic takeaway experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving quality fish and chips!"
