We visited The Queens Head, as both my elderly parents find difficulty walking was relieved to find kind and helpful staff who were willing to go the extra mile to accommodate their needs. Food was very tasty as was the beer! Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent food, reasonably priced. I ate there a number of times as it was so good, and I always got a friendly welcome for me and my little dog. Last time I went was to use the wifi as The Mill Winchcombe Road accommodation I'd booked into turned out to be really terrible and reneged on providing all the services, such as wifi. When the owner of the pub found out I was having such a bad experience with The Mill accommodation, he refunded my meal. Several of the locals offered to buy me drinks. I was very touched by everyone's kindness. Thank you, Matt and all the kind patrons.

Have eaten here a few times now and have never had a meal I have not enjoyed or the people I was with have not enjoyed. Excellent prices in a very relaxed environment. No carpark but can park on the side street. Has high chairs for children and have seen people with dogs in the bar but not the restaurant. Steps to enter and not sure if there is another entrance for disabled. Well worth a visit!

Visitamos hoy para una comida familiar. Hemos estado viniendo por alrededor de un año y hoy será la última vez. Iv he tenido peor asados.

Popped into the Queens head for Sunday lunch after a long walk with the dog. Plus point - dog friendly Minus - meat is pre packed, roast potatoes are dry and taste as thought they are from the freezer, gravy not from the meat. Yorkshire pud ok. Friendly service and I believe new management also being dog friendly is a huge plus but need to rethink the food

Small & tidy village pub with very well kept Real Ales (& of course other drinks) run exceptionally well by Olive & John. Food available dinner & tea time (best to book) only.

Without wishing to be unkind (hence selection of "poor" rather than "terrible"), it is important to balance the other reviews of this pub to save other families the experience we have just had. Based wholly on tripadvisor recommendations this pub was chosen for a family get-together and a booking made for Sunday. Maybe they should have said that they don't open open a Sunday, who knows - we were the only people there and the pub closed immediately after we left it. Definitely they should have said that they can't provide the meals menu on a Sunday, and we would have gone elsewhere. We were clearly expected only to opt for a Sunday roast meal, so they were thrown by a request for alternatives. Four of us went with the roast, possibly due to the uncomfortable feeling that this was the expected only choice, and picked the beef after an assurance that it was "medium rare" (one of our party asked for advice on this, making it clear that if the beef was well done we would choose the pork instead - not a problem if an accurate reply had been given). The roast when it came was predominantly grey: mountains of grey overcooked veg, dry and getting cold, with no form of sauce or seasoning; thin gravy and, worst, small portions of tough grey overcooked beef. The two others of our party who had asked for a ploughmans out of politeness, on the basis that clearly no other cooking was planned so hopefully this would not be too difficult, received a sad plate of unwashed salad, unripe tomato, elderly pickled shallots, tough celery and slightly sweaty cheese. One diner asked for no black pudding or pork pie and was awarded a huge slab of ham instead - hardly a meat-free plate. No bread was provided and when requested it was 6 triangles of white sliced and already heavily slathered with a spread that was admitted to be marg when challenged - a request for bread with no spread prompted the reply that all the other bread was in the freezer. In desperation we asked for biscuits or crackers but the six crackers provided between two were soft and musty and clearly well past their expiry date. This was not an enjoyable occasion. Although the beer and other drinks were OK we would absolutely not recommend this as a place to eat. Fortunately we are a family with a sense of humour and will look back on this as our very own Fawlty Towers experience.

My mother-in-law and I had Sunday lunch here recently. The food was good (and big portions!) and the owners were very friendly. We're considering having a family party here in a few months time and they were also very helpful with our enquiries about that.

What a nice place. Wendy and Paul have done a wonderful refurbishment to the pub. The open fire is very welcoming and the smart new decor too. We had a look around the rooms for B&B , although not quite finished they will be very plush when finished. We will be back for a longer stay !! The food was excellent and the beer was good too. We wish them both good luck in the future.

Unfortunately while this pub is on a main road, I don't think it gets an awful lot of passing trade. It's a terrible shame that it looks like it's struggling to make its mark with the restaurant but I imagine it gets busier at night - as it was however, we were the only people eating there at the lunchtime peak. The food though was lovely, obviously freshly prepared, came quite quickly, with a smile, was hot, plentiful and tasty and if I thought it'd be open next time I visit the area, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I wish the owners all the best and hope their business picks up in the near future.

Went for a lunchtime meal with two friends. The couple running the pub have only just started to do food, and whilst the menu is very limited (we all had scampi and chips) it was delicious! Cheap too at £5.25. They made us feel very welcome, good range of beer and cider, and gorgeous pub dog who was delightful! Tiny pub, no car park (but parking available on the road) but cute, friendly and cosy!

We stayed at the nearby Dumbleton House Hotel and they recommended this pub as we didn't want to eat there. We turned up at about 7.30pm on a Friday night to find the dining room of the pub in darkness - we were a bit surprised. It turns out that the landlord (I think he was standing in as the previous tenants had left?) had only just taken over the pub and they weren't sure whether to serve food at all, but they immediately opened up the restaurant for us. They apologised for the limited menu, but there were about 8 main courses and 5 deserts so we decided to stay rather than drive round an unknown area looking for somewhere else. We both had the steak and chips - which came with the requisite peas and grilled tomatoes -and also a large field mushroom and three fried onion rings - both of our steaks (one medium-rare-on-the-side-of-rare and one "well-done-on-the-side-of-well-done" were cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The pub was clean and tidy and whilst it was a bit odd being the only people in the dining room I'm sure that once they've settled in to doing food, I'm sure they'll soon be very busy. Oh, and the beer was excellent!

As a frequent solo diner around all of the Cotswolds, I have frequented many local eateries and have previously stayed at the Crown. Last night I thought I would indulge myself by dining there. I had two starters rather than one main. The service was excellent, the team were friendly and attentive and the food was 1st class!! Thank you Reece, you really are a top chef, funds permitting I may come back again tonight !!

We meet our friends here on Sunday 7th of July 2024 for a traditional Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed. The service from the team was fantastic and the food was great. I had a beef roast which can be hit and miss wherever you go, and it was cooked to perfection. Nice dollop of gravy and Puds were lovely. Well presented food.

Really disappointed with the Father Christmas experience… please don’t spend your hard earned money on this, we felt so underwhelmed and just glad our daughter is young so she didn’t notice how poor it was. Paid £45.50 for 2 adults and 1 child. The elves didn’t have a script, Father Christmas wasn’t very enthusiastic and sat at the front of the barn reading out names and what the children would like… but it wasn’t very clear and all seemed as though they didn’t know what they were doing. Had a 1 second photo with Father Christmas and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for a bag of sweets… the toy shop is a good idea. 1 toy per child… however for the price of the experience and a £6 toy. The figures don’t add up. You can make reindeer food, and effort has gone into creating the set. Really sorry but we won’t be back. Wouldn’t recommend with children older than 3.
