Stayed for 1 night Positives -good food portions -good traditional menu -greeted nicely on arrival -quiet location - bedding clean - bed comfortable - clean white towels - lots of free toiletries - coffee/ tea provided in rooms -nice pub garden aimed at children eg goats, rabbits, climbing area -close enough to the beach (short drive) -everyone was respectful in terms of noise. -free WiFi -tv / dvd Negatives -our room had no window! It was stifling hot so lack of sleep. -some discrepancy whether we could get food or not in the evening. Customer service could’ve been better at this point -mould around the bath/shower (Could you add sweeteners to the tea and coffee please) We would come back if we were provided with a room with a window.

We were only told that half the menu wasn’t available after they had taken our drinks orders. So a very limited choice to choose from. Whilst we were eating our starters the waitress came over and told us our main meals were ready to bring out. We said we were not ready as we were still eating our starters! but despite us saying this she still brought them all out and told us the chief told her to bring them out anyway!!! We complained and the manager did not care at all. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT COME HERE

Very sad experience here for our last night on holiday. Booked a table for 6, and upon arrival the staff looked baffled by our appearance and questioned if we had booked, before even stating yes, they’ve walked off scurrying for advice off the chef if they can fit us in. Poor selection of drinks for the children, a few food items unavailable. We asked if we could have two starters to come out as mains, this confused the staff member and then made it clear that this isn’t an option as the kitchen gets very busy very quick. (3 tables, two already eating, and then us waiting to be served… not very busy) . Food was ordered, one meal in particular, the fish and chips, was clearly microwaved, batter was soggy, fish was cold in spots, overall, so very poor. Do not recommend eating here.

Absolutely terrible. Arrived and they didn’t even greet us with a friendly smile or hello. Asked for our drinks and they didn’t have squash for the children. The meals came out and there was no egg with the ham egg and chips. We were not told this before hand. Asked for a discount and was told no. Owner and chef were really rude and abrupt with us. Sub standard food. Avoid if possible.

Not the greatest experience. We had a dinner on our 2nd night of our holiday and was pleasantly surprised as there has been some negative reviews on this place recently the meal was nice although they didn't cook the steak correctly didn't complain as it was ok to eat. The staff were pleasant. On our way home from a busy day on our 5th day we decided that we would eat there again. This time was a different experience the welcome we had the 1st time wasn't there. My parents wished to order a couple of starters as there main meal to be brought with the two mains we wished to order we were told that this wasn't an option. It's a shame that they couldn't be more accommodating. It's a basic menu so I can't really understand where the issue lies maybe there kitchen can't cope with timings?? We decided not to spend our money there and swiftly drank our drinks paid. I would go at your own peril as disappointment may occur. On the plus side had a lovely takeaway from the silk road Chinese.

If the owner or the management of this pub is wondering why there are no regulars sitting at the bar, or why you only had 3 covers for lunch today, then try turning the fridging music down. I couldn’t even converse with the brain numbing bored barman to order my drink and food for the loud music - and for whose benefit??? Not the customers clearly! If I wanted to listen to the top of the pops I would have done to a disco! Take a look opposite you at ‘The Store’ and you’ll see its full of customers having lunch - that’s were your customers have gone.

Never had such a cold and incompetent welcome to what looks like a nice village pub. Very very basic menu which is fine if done well, but being told there’s no ham and having a completely inflexible response to replacing it in the meal is bonkers. Were told we could start a tab then not, were told they’d bring our drinks out to us then to go back in and find them going warm and flat on the bar and then have a tray pretty much thrown at us to sort our ourselves. I’d expect when turning up as a largish party early in the day when the pub is almost empty the response would be befitting of the £100 or so that going to be spent. Ordering a starter at lunchtime would seem obvious that this meant everything to come together but one of our party had to eat on their own while the rest of us waited sometime for our sandwiches to arrive 1312hrs one “starter” brought out 1329hrs typing this 1332hrs chicken nugget and chips thrown on the floor by sweet but totally inexperienced waitress doing her best with no support 1334hrs all plates now on table and we’re working out what’s missing 1340hrs told they hadn’t put all our orders through and we’d have to come inside and pay so they can make a sandwich once all the other orders are done in the kitchen Told despite the fact we’d upgraded the sandwich to include chips that we couldn’t Never known a s£&t show like it. And the cowardly owners constantly sending out the young staff to take the flack. If ever the Benny Hill theme tune should be played on loop it’s when you walk through the door of this place. To be fair and balanced some of the food was really nice, gammon and steak baguette. But the tuna melt was as a mess of too much cheese and the sandwich bread is classic plastic thin white loaf that you’d send the kids to school with.

A good old fashioned pub. No airs and graces. Locals and visitors welcome. Good quality homecooked food at very reasonable prices. Sunday Roasts. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Different theme nights throughout the week. Regular Music (and other) Events. We like it here 👍 Also have accommodation on site.

What a find, spent friday and saturday evening in this great pub, lovely staff, great food both nights and made to feel very welcome by everyone, lovely fire as well cannot wait to go back

Great food served in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. The quantities are great . We were there with a large group for a pre Christmas meal. Everything was brought out promptly . 4 types of vegetables and the home made Brandy Butter was very good.

The weirdest pub we have ever been to. We have never been to a pub of such small size. There is literally bar tables and 3 bar stools. The restaurant half was completely empty on both days we visited. The size of the general building is deceiving to the size of the inside. One female staff member who seems to be paid to chat to the few regular customers and serve the occasional pint. It could do with a complete knock through and refurbishment. Drinks seemed expensive for what we had. This could be a really nice, busy local pub but it seemed more like a deserted community room.

Very friendly pub, tastiest Halloumi I've had for a long time cooked to perfection. Normally restaurants/pubs over cook it but not the Queen Vic in fact good value for money and well presented on all meals our group had today.

Can't review the food, as didn't get to eat. We booked table for 4, for a birthday celebration. The menu on their website shows a full range of meals, and side orders which include chips. We were given a much smaller menu. One of our party can only eat certain foods, asked for cheesy chips which they couldn't do, so asked for portion of chips which they they couldn't do. Said we'd pay full meal price for fish and chips, just leave the fish etc off but they wouldn't do that even though they were happy to leave cauliflower and peas off my partner's meal. After the young waitress had another check the person in charge came over to confirm they couldn't just serve a portion of chips. Luckily we were able to get food elsewhere that were happy to cater for us and take our money. When in the hospitality business the clue is in the name. Won't be visiting this pub again.

My husband and I often come here for Sunday lunch and steak night as we live in heacham so just down the road. Food is always fresh and well cooked, portion sizes are huge. Staff are friendly aswell. Have had lots of good nights out too listening to the entertainment they put on.

The worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered one of their burgers and I swear the meat came out of an Iceland freezer. Tried the scampi on another occasion and that must have been out of the freezer as well. Then there's the price!! The sheer audacity to charge that much for such low quality food should be criminal! Avoid like the plague!

We visit the pub regularly. Mainly to eat. We were there just this morning for our breakfast. Good choice. Good food. Very reasonably priced. Visitors and locals alike. This is a community pub, run by good hardworking and decent people. Regular events. We also like the Pie night (Wednesday). Proper home cooked food 👍

The bar staff appear unable or unwilling to challenge drunks who routinely use foul language despite there being people trying to enjoy a quiet drink and a meal. If you want a pleasant evening out in civilised society give this place a wide berth.

Impromptu visit hadn’t been out for ages and we decided to pop out on a mid week evening. The pub and restaurant really busy and a great atmosphere.We were served very quickly and had a lively table near the window my husband had steak and I had the cod, I couldn’t eat all my chips but everything was really lovely and service with a smile would def recommend and would definitely return.

We had booked fir the campsite park farm snettetton camping and glamping but decided after someone was rude to us to leave. Drove down to Queen Victoria and spoke to staff. They were so lovely and accommodating. We were able to pitch round the back for £25.00. They certainly saved us. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. An enjoyable evening with great food/beer. Dog friendly. Electric hook up and one toilet and shower open all night. A place to return when we are back in the area.

Terrible! Will never go again. Booked a table for 7.30/7.45pm. arrived at 7.40pm and shown to our table, our order taken by a lovely waiter…… then the Landlady came over to us at 7.59 pm and said kitchen closes at 8pm you were too late....

I could not fault this pub and hotel, very welcoming owners and staff. Also your fur babies are also lovingly welcome, which is hard to find in most places. Will definitely be reccomending to friends and family and we will definitely be returning. 🙂🙂

We went here for our evening meal.we had been here several times in the past (pre-covid) and really enjoyed the carvery however things seem to have gone downhill. The place is starting to look a bit scruffy.I had tempura prawns, only three for £4.50. I also do not think they are tempura but filo prawns.My wife had the garlic mushrooms which were goodWe both had the mash veg and sausages. The sausages were tasty. The rest....As I said so disappointing...... it used to be so good

We stayed in Snettisham for a weeks holiday recently and ate in the Queen Vic three times during our stay.We found the food to be freshly cooked, great home made quality and massive portions. Oh and very good value. On Thursday steak night we had two ribeye's and two pints for £40 and these were probably the best steaks I have ever had in the UK. Most main courses are around £10 which is very reasonable compared to lots of other pubs in the area, like the Rose & Crown in Snettisham or Jolly Sailor in Brancaster which are overpriced .The staff are also very friendly and deserve your business. I just don't understand how the Rose & Crown 2 minutes walk down the road is always rammed packed and you need to book in advance where as you can just walk in at the QV.

Having not been to the Queen Victoria for a long time we thought we would give it a try. We were so pleased that we did although we did not realise that new people had taken it over at Christmas. It was a Tuesday lunchtime and very few customers but the food was fantastic and very reasonable. There were four of us and we had a variety of choices but all were excellent, generous and hot. Friendly helpful staff who checked to see that all was well. We will definitely return and also recommend to other people. Good luck to you, you deserve it.

A small group of 4 had lunch yesterday 15th booked on Sunday. The new manager/chef and his staff gave us an absolutely brilliant meal ( all 4 different) and the service was 1st class. Very reasonable prices. Quality FANTASTIC. Good luck in your new venture. We intend to visit every trip to this area. Back soon

Booked beforehand by phone. Lovely lady squeezed us in for a booking and let us know they were not taking part of the government's eat out to help out scheme which was nice of her to say in order to manage expectations.Food was delightful. Chef is great. We had a Pea and mint risotto which was lovely, the crispy duck croquettes (special for the day) was gorgeous and the kids loved their burgers. Deserts nice too (bright blue bubblegum ice cream & a apple and rhubarb crumble with ice cream) . Covid safe with social distancing in place, staff with face masks, sanitiser available and toilets were clean. Free parking. Friendly staff. Would recommend if in the area.

My wheelchair using husband and I had the most comfortable and enjoyable weeks stay here. Jackie & Richard were so welcoming. The room was excellent, my husband was able to move around with a walking frame as the room was larger than the average hotel room. The restaurant was surprising. They have an excellent chef. Although the menu was reduced because of lockdown the food was just great. Can't wait to return as the Queen Vic is so well situated for many places, beaches, towns villages. Brilliant. Thanks.

Visited a few times while staying in the village for a week. Couple that ran the pub were very helpful and friendly whilst still complying with Covid regulations! Would recommend this pub for food and drinks if staying nearby

We've become regulars here when visiting family in the village. We're alway greeted with a warm welcome by Jackie and her staff. It's a simple local pub that serves excellent food at sensible prices. The homemade chips are excellent as was all the food we ate which included steak, homemade pie with perfectly cooked fresh veg and creamy mashed potato. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I really cannot find a fault in this little gem of a place.

Have just had a wonderful carvery, fresh meat, veg, homemade yorky puds,proper gravy! All amazing,friendly staff and chef too. Haven’t been in this pub for years but will definitely return; bring the children next time and Mum and Dad. We had decided to give the Sunday Carvery a try & duly pre-booked a table for three. It was a very warm welcome to start and thereafter was very good food and equally good service and fair prices. We will certainly visit again. A very pleasant and pleasing surprise. Well done to all concerned.

We were recommended the Queen Victoria buy family as we staying in the area for a birthday party. What a wonderful little gem it is. The couple that run the pub Jackie and Richard were so warm and welcoming you could not help but be impressed. We stayed in one of the rooms just to the back of the pub. Very clean and tidy and so comfortable. Then for breakfast the next day just the best way to start the day delicious. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Booked short notice for Sunday lunch to finish off our trip to Norfolk lavender with our toddler.We ended up ordered of the menu instead of having the carvery, and all the food was really good. Our son displayed his enjoyment by covering himself in his spag bol. The staff were friendly and catered well for a toddler. Good size car park.

Found this pub on google maps whilst visiting the area from a stay in West Lynn. It was Mother’s Day and we had no advanced booking, just stopping for some lunch (1330hrs) on the off-chance.

Stayed 2 nights for a weekend break. Chosen as cheap for the area especially with 2 dogs. Room motel style off the car park, fairly small. Bed only 135cm, with a plastic layer in the mattress protector and not a particularly good mattress. Shower efficient but curtain too long and tended to block the outlet. Basin cracked.

What a lovely suprise to find this village pub has become a popular place for locals & tourists for both food & drinking. It is also dog friendly so you can take your best friend too.

Having been the local for three generations of my family (sadly no longer resident in the village), we had to visit on a recent trip back to Snettisham and I have to say we were not disappointed. We came in to celebrate my Dad's birthday and found the welcome to be very warm and the pub itself nice and cosy.

We had an excellent carvery today, one of the best. I will just say though that we were a bit put off by the chef putting meat on our plate by hand. I know he had gloves on but we would have been much happier if he used a fork or tongs. This is our only issue though, it was lovely apart from that

I had looked at the menu on their website and luckily rang to book a table and asked whether the Seafood Basket was available. It was not, so I declined to book. However a few minutes later, they rang back and said the chef could do it for me. Splendid service and a very nice meal. Bill for two of us with drinks under £30.00. Will definitely be back, although it's a drive from Heacham where the pub doing food has gone very downhill. Thank you Queen Victoria, Snettisham.

We went for an early evening meal to the Queen Victoria because it is pet friendly. To be fair the pet friendly section is the bar area but because it was full we were allowed to sit just inside the restaurant which was a good thing because I wouldn't want to eat in the bar when it is so busy. First impressions were that the staff were welcoming and friendly and that continued throughout our visit. The restaurant area itself looks a bit "café" ish, this is because the majority of tables appear to be covered in formica, ours however was wood.

Six of us went for Sunday lunch, but were disappointed that it was only a carvery that day, with limited choice, and no vegetarian option.

Lunch at this place was a warm happy one with good sumptuous food and a good menu and bar. Seated on the main road in Snettisham, it had nice ambience and warm friendly staff.

My friend and popped in for a catch up at lunch time last week, Menu was nice, not to big, sandwiches on offer We had a lovely Beetroot and Goats Cheese salad, very fresh, being girls, we ordered skinny fries too, which were lovely and crisp. Nice friendly atmosphere, fab service and the head chef in evident, smiling at customers and getting feed back, which i thought, very charming ans caring as the pub has recently been taken over. So nice to see team work and friendliness accompanying good food. Keep it up Queen Vic, your on a winner in my book see you soon

I’m not a big fan of roast dinners but trust me this place is worth a visit. Good atmosphere and very nice food. All of the staff are friendly and work hard to please you during your visit. VERY VERY GOOD!

The Queen Victoria is a great pub under new management. We sat in the garden and ordered some classic pub grub. The food was all homemade and tasted fantastic. A great spot for afternoon drinks and family food.

The title says it all. Called to enjoy lunch as advertised in parish magazine "food available daily" ....oh no its not. Entered gloomy bar with one local supping beer at the bar and the lady behind the bar told us not at this time of the year. That surprised us as a new kitchen was advertised and we had telephoned on the Sunday to ask if we needed to book.

Have eaten here quite a few times over last couple of years, food and service I thought couldn’t be beaten. However just been again and found that it’s under new management since December. Well Jackie, the new landlady (who used to work here previously) was as usual very welcoming, her son Michael is the chef and boy can he cook! Food was exceptional and as usual the portions were huge! Don’t be put off by how it looks from outside, you need to go along way to beat the quality received here! Looking forward to eating here again when we return to Norfolk in April!

A well cooked, tasty Sunday lunch at a reasonable price. The service was friendly and the food great and a comfortable place to eat. Very good value for money, would go there again.

Popped in for a quick drink as we were waiting for the cottage to be ready to check in, upon arrival the entrance was blocked with a chair and the staff were running around putting up cheap halloween decorations. The chefs were helping out and they both were wearing extremely dirty and burnt chef whites which did not inspire me to eat there or return during our stay.

This is a "local" which is hard to find these days. The pub has a beer garden, kids play area and holiday accommodation units to the rear that can be rented in and out of season, which is handy for families visiting at Xmas. The staff are friendly and helpful, the beers good meals are traditional and tasty. But the Christmas day meal which needs to be booked months ahead, no frills just like your mum used to cook.... . Lovely. This pub is highly recommended.

Sorry no other word for it. Cheap enough but very poor quality indeed and grubby . Starter nachos... but dish not complete and they had to dash to the coop. Sweet potato chips were completely inedible and one daisy arrived very late.

Amazing meal this evening! The Fish pie had always been good but now it's even better and the burger on the specials menu today was simply wonderful! My partner loves a good burger and this rates up there for him as one of the BEST he has ever had! Massive change on quality recently it's a credit to the manager.

Esta es la segunda vez que hemos tenido una terrible comida. Tenemos nachos durante el arranque y eran terribles, el queso rallado estaba tirado en el plato y ni siquiera se evapora, el nachos fueron quemados y no salsa y luego encontré un pelo. Entonces para mi carne era más principales y comidas cocinadas de mis hijas no eran incluso cocinada. Había 15 de nosotros y todas las comidas los niños hecha y adultos principales no fueron mejores. No volveremos.

Cocidas Carne, tuvimos que pedir dos veces limpia cutulery asados, fue organizado por un chef malhumorado pasarlo. . Es una pena porque el Pub es preciosa

I went here for a Sunday carvery with my husband, father in law, daughter and granddaughter. The food was excellent with the choice of 3 different meats and plenty of fresh vegetables. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the chef came over to make sure that everything was ok. I would thoroughly recommend this place to eat ☺️

I have visited here a few times before and last week I went here for a wake after a funeral. They laid on an amazing buffet with top quality food and so much selection, all fresh and full of flavours! Everyone was really impressed with the quantity, as well as the range of food provided, which included 6 sandwich fillings, sausage rolls, pork pies, potato salad, coleslaw, quiche, salad, profiteroles, cheesecake, chocolate cake, jam and cream fruit scones, and various pastries! Unlimited tea and coffee was also available.I have also had meals here in the past, and each one has not disappointed. Everything is home cooked and the portion sizes are huge! Well worth the money. Staff are attentive, they have no issue with you swapping things on your plate and got all our orders correct. Food served quickly and very hot. Nice cosy little pub with friendly atmosphere. Gutted that I didnt get to try the sunday carvery, they are very popular and busy on sundays so worth booking to avoid disappointment. A hidden gem, and I hope to visit again soon (hopefully for the carvery) Please see my photos for pictures of food.

Had a lovely Sunday Carvery. There was a choice of three roasts and also catered for vegetarian in the group. Staff were friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday dinner.

Hello, My Mum and i spent a lovely Bird Watching week in the local area. A few friends recommended another Hostelry, but was over our budget. However we had a lovely meal and the Staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. The pricing was reasonable and Excellent Value
