Queen of the Loch in West Dunbartonshire

Stopped off here, on way back from our honeymoon in the Highlands. Easy last minute booking & check in. Nice room, comfy bed, always good to have a pub on site for dinner & breakfast. Lovely helpful staff.

My my husband and myself came to have the carvery. Staff were very polite and showed us to our seats ask if we had been before and she explained how to order at our table or if we felt better to order at the bar .the server at the cavery was also very polite food was amazing on leaving on leaving all staff that wernt busy with customers they all said thanks for coming and wished us a good day definitely recommend using this place we will definitely be back

Embarked on a delightful breakfast adventure with my brother and his girlfriend before our journey to the highlands. The service was exceptional, with genuinely friendly and attentive staff creating a warm atmosphere. The delicious food elevated the experience, leaving me eager to return for more.

Brilliant place to stay close to alot of activies like sealife center nature walks boat rides and birds of pray center and different restaurants as well would highly recommend as the staff were brilliant and very accommodating rooms were clean and very comfy beds my 4 year old loved the bouncy beds and soft pillows will definitely be back

Carvery was a massive disappointment. Very little available, no mash, no Yorkshire puddings and everything almost empty. Very poor and unorganised. Service was good though.

Our server Chris today was so helpful with my son as he has ASN Chris was so patient and understanding and also with our gluten intolerance order aswell, explained everything and even managed to move us table, as we weren't happy with the table that was given to us

Having booked, we arrived at 12, but had to wait to be seated as no one was there to meet and greet. We were not told that you have to order at the bar, so sat waiting for service. The man taking orders at the bar was surly and offhand. He didn't explain that we would be told when the Veggie items were ready at the carvery. On ordering, I was offered a Veggie Wellington for my wife, which I paid for, only to find after more waiting that it wasn't on the menu. The food from the carvery was lukewarm and we had to ask for it to be heated. At £42 for 2 mains and one pint of beer, I would expect some level of service and good food. Disappointed on both counts. Will not be hurrying back.

I booked a table online request a certain seating when the four of us arrived we got the booth we requested. Very welcome greeting although we had not been in a while and we were remembered. Ordered food and drinks at the bar also using our 30% off code no problem. All our starters were lovely we had tomato soup, prawn cocktail and breaded mushrooms enjoyed by all of us. Mains were steak pie and three sirloin steaks all medium with various sauces comment on steak pie was it was delicious and pastry so lovely and flaky our steaks were all cooked as ordered great crispy chips sauces good all food was eaten. Desert sherry trifle cheesecake x three and jam sponge pudding with custard cheesecake lovely and light,sponge pudding and custard good. We had a lovely evening will be back soon.

First time visiting this venue and it was great. Good was amazing and the staff were brilliant especially Kim who made us feel so welcome and was very attentive. Will definitely be back and 100% recommend!

Good value pub grub with friendly service.

Great place to stay if you are in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the moment I checked through to I left. There is plenty of parking with several electric car charging points with very free being used while I was there. The room was nice and clean with plenty of space ( just remember to go to the restaurant to check in). In the restaurant there is plenty of selection on the main menu or you can choose a carvery. There are various different meal deals each night . I would definitely recommend staying here

Last minute decision to book as travelling back from honeymoon in the highlands. Easy to check in, room was lovely and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Recommended.

We where a party of 14 on arrival we where shown to our table all good as we had pre ordered we where asked if we would like starters so yes they came but nobody told us you have to go to bar or download the app for drinks bit confusing the main meals where next I had the mac&cheese now it states on menu comes with crispy onions and chopped chives sorry they where not there and a salad garnish it was just some very wilted rocket which needed a rocket so basically didn't get what I ordered also 4 of our party had the carvery they where asked to go and get it by waitress but nobody told them they needed a ticket ended up very confusing for a 86 year old needs better communication overall everyone enjoyed there meal staff where a bit slow at removing empty plates but overall they where charming and nice

Tomato soup was served warm, not hot . Waited at the bar, only 2 serving at busy lunchtime.

Great venue, good pub grub reasonably priced, nice staff.

Carvery was all dried up. Asked if there was any fresh stuffing as stuff out was rock hard and dry. The real let down was the Yorkies. Soggy and could squeeze the oil from them. Really disappointed. It's a hit or a miss when we go. Think I'll stop going.

Elizabeth is excellent, we have been staying at the adjacent hotel as our olans changed due to weather, she has been so friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.

Extensive menu and day specials available. Interior is modern and cosy. Staff very helpful and cheery. They welcome dogs, providing a water bowl and dog menu (nice touch). Not very busy perhaps due to weather minus 2 degrees.

Had an amazing night at the queen of the loch! Food - amazing! Drinks - stunning! Service - out of this world! Special shout out to Gina and holly. Hollys knowledge of the menu and Gina’s wit made our evening!! Definitely be back!!!

We had a great dinner un here our server (GINA)was very friendly and a good laugh would hughly recommend to our family esoecially the steak my friend found the carvery chef very charming and frendly u believe the gents name was michael would definetly be bqck again

First time at a Marston’s Inn (Queen of the Loch), Very impressed!!!! Room is clean, very comfortable (lovely mattress!), good size and lovely and warm on a very cold night and is very well priced and great value for money. I had the carvery dinner which was absolutely perfect! Nice bar and restaurant area, all nicely laid out as well as being clean and comfortable. Really lovely staff, very welcoming and friendly. The Marston’s beer was also pretty good! Plenty of locals eating here which is always a good sign. I am definitely going to seek other Marston’s Inns on my travels. 10/10. Well done team!!

This place is amazing! Not only are they dog friendly, they do a doggie menu!

The staff were great. The restaurant is very tired, lots of flickering lights. The menu qr codes didn't work we had to order at the bar.

The Queen of the Loch was an incredible place to stay, especially for a family get away. The rooms were comfortable and extremely warm and welcoming. The restaurant to the side was also a lovely place where you could enjoy lunch, dinner, and breakfast. Kim amongst the other incredible staff that work here were always there when anyone needed assistance and made our stay here most enjoyable. Overall the stay was lovely and would definitely recommend for young family’s.

Possibly the worst Xmas Dinner I've ever had...one of the most expensive days of the year and it's supposed to be a treat for many people but this was by far the worst food I've had at any carvery. to be fair I've eaten food in hospitals and homeless shelters better than this and it didn't cost 58 quid a head..I can't blame the front of house staff for anything as they were wonderful but whoever is working the kitchens may want to learn how to roast a potato so it isn't still white outside...the parsnips looked miserable and the turkey was dry...the loaded roast potatoes looked like some kind of accident...what should have been a special occasion turned in to a huge disappointment...to think we travelled from Herefordshire for this just makes me even more angry.

This is my second time staying here on the run up to Christmas. All the staff are friendly and helpful, particularly Libs and Danielle. The rooms are warm, clean and cosy and the food is great. Thank you Paul and the team!

A must for Sunday roast, and not just on a Sunday. Have been here many times with friends and family and it never fails to let us down. The staff are always very attentive and nothing is ever too much bother (and I'm sure we've put them through it). A great pub with a good selection of food and drinks throughout the day, welcoming atmosphere and family (and dog) friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit to the Queen of the Loch!

Stopped off here a couple times and never fails to deliver. Food is always spot on and I can never turn down the red velvet cake! The staff are always so friendly and provide great service. Couldn't recommend enough, definitely worth a visit.

Just a genuinely lovely place to eat. Danielle is especially good, awesome in fact, she is a real asset to Queen of the Loch and the company as a whole, always amazingly helpful and attentive.

Food was fresh, vegetables were great, only issue I had was that it wasn't warm enough for me.

Was organised chaos. We ordered a cup of tea, the resturant had no white sugar, they said the hotel might have some but didn't even offer to go and get some. Ordered soft drinks, came back flat. We informed staff they said they changed gas but second drink came back the same. We were using a £100 gift voucher which was ordered from your company, none of your staff knew how to put it through. We read out the instructions even though a member of staff had previously read them, and still couldn't work it out. I felt all the staff didn' t have a clue, the only positive was the food was nice although that wasn't the warmest either.

Kim our waitress was exceptional . Nothing a problem for her . She was even able to answer our questions about Lord of Rings and Game of Thrones . “winter is coming “ 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely the worst organised restaurant I have visited, booked a table the previous evening as we have dogs, on arrival we were met by a girl who I would reckon is easterm european and told we could not have the table we booked as there was a group of 6 booked the table, I approached the manager whom said you can not book tables 🤔 so why have you booked it for someone else 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️been coming here for over 9year but won't be back 😒

Well i ordered the mix grill with my BEST friend,for a nice dinner and the chicken,pork,egg,and mushroms were cooked from the morning i think,was dry dry dry,i was so embarash to bring my friend there,the steak was fine,and the chips,the rest was already cooked and im sure ,few hours before,i just cant believe the charge for that the price of a proper mix grill....its a shame,and somebody need to talk with the chef,Will be nice if they return to me the 45 pounds i spent.thanks

Amazing time! Stayed here for a few days during a trip to Glasgow. The food was great, and so were the rooms! Staff was super friendly and helpful, making you feel at home. Scotrail is a nice walk away, which makes easy transport to Glasgow. Loch Lomond is also a short walk, which is a nice place to visit! Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Scotland.

We had the carvery which was very good value and was tasty, We also had a couple of desserts which were also very good. The restaurant was slightly noisy as there were a lot of families with young children in but overall enjoyed the visit.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Family occasion and everyone very happy with the food and service. Only one choice of meat for the carvery but as it closed at 8 and we there just after 7 it was understandable.

Stopped for an early lunch on our way south from the Highlands. Standard chain pub fare. Friendly staff. Dogs allowed in the specific area just on the left as you go in. A solid place to visit with your floofer when traveling.

Quick visit for a coffee with a four legged friend on a wet dull day. Very warm and cosy inside. Spacious dog friendly areas inside and out (covered and heated if needed). Used the "order at table" as I had a black lab pup to amuse. Service (Paul) was very warm and friendly to both of us. I do use the QOL for food and drinks and never disappointed.

A fabulous find after a long day driving. The room was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. Staff were do friendly and helpful. Food was hot and plentiful. You'd be hard pressed to find some of this level for the price. Highly recommended*****

I’m afraid the two word heading is “very disappointing”. There was a queue to get in with us out in the cold while some woman was arguing with the girl on reception. Then, having got to our table at the far end, we found that there was no waitress to take a drink order - back to the bar. Food chosen - and back to the bar again. And pay in advance. Service it’s not; this is Wetherspoon Style. I had the carvery with carefully weighed portion to make sure I didn’t get too much. Looked good but the beef was so tough it couldn’t be chewed; it was replaced with turkey but this sort of thing really should not happen. The scampi looked good but there was very little fish inside the large crispy outer layer. No one came to ask if we were enjoying our meal - perhaps just as well. We decided not to risk a dessert and went home.

At 7pm on a Saturday the carvery had no ham, no roast potatoes, no stuffing and no pigs in blankets. I was then told that the boiled potatoes were roast potatoes, a manager however confirmed they were not. We then had to order something else but nothing was offered in response to this appalling service.

Food was just OK. The potatoes in the carvery were very very hard and almost chewy. The chocolate cake was extremely dry and the 'sauce' was actually stuck to the plate and did not move and had an almost gel like consistency

We were welcomed by a lovely young woman who got us a table and explained what to do, leaving the menus. the friendly atmosphere continued with all the staff being helpful and enthusiastic nothing was to much bother. We chose the carvery which was good value as well as being delicious. A positive experience which we would be happy to and will repeat.

We were looked after by Kerri all night, with amazing service and amazing food. Nothing was too much and she was always checking in to see if we needed anything else. Nothing was too much and she was very professional but super friendly. As well as all the food being very generous portions, brilliant prices and delicious food.

Loved our visit have not visited for a while my dad loved the carvery and his pint and a dram .the food was great and lots to pick from the desert went down also always room for pud.
