Our first visit. Very friendly welcome. At all times the staff were efficient. Our order was taken quickly and both drinks and food arrived promptly. Four of us had the breakfast although it was lunchtime. It was freshly cooked and we could not fault. There is a loyalty card for hot drinks. Will definitely return when in the area.

Been here a few times now and honestly can't say enough good things. The food is very good, staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is always lovely

Bear in mind it's just a local little cafe. The staff are very friendly and polite, and I personally thought the speed of service was very good. We did only have tea, crumpets and a teacakes but we enjoyed everything we had. The tea comes in a teapot, which will give you about 2.5 cups of tea I liked this place. I would go again and I would recommend it based on what we had.

Stumbled on this little cafe after visiting the model village. Good food and eclectic display of everything related to Queen Eliabeth II, very nice.

I thought that the Driftwood cafe was the best in the area but this beats it hands down.

Certainly a welcome surprise. Had the full breakfast and it’s the best we had in the bay. Cooked to perfection not greasy as some we had. Good price too. Staff very welcoming. Definitely one to return too.

My brother brought me here as he wanted me to visit his favorite cafe. I had massaman curry which was so authentic, I may as well have been in Thailand! The best massaman curry I've ever had! I then had their offer of a brownie and "standard" coffee for only 4.95, there was absolutely nithing standard about that coffee, it was beautiful! The brownie was perfect and the crockery was so quirky! Now I know why it's my brother's favorite cafe! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much guys x

I visited here today with my two sons. It was just what we were looking for, everything for everyone on the menu, and it was all delicious! I only had beans on toast but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chips were just like seaside chips and the scones arrived warm! Lovely, helpful staff too. Will be coming here again next time I'm in the area.

Don’t go if you’re hungry… Waited 1hr for food to arrive. Food was semi decent and warm but portion sizes need improving. Children’s meal was three nuggets and 4 chips and a miserable looking of beans. Burgers were a decent size but not much taste and required heavily seasoning. Servicing staff were seen out smoking cigarettes more than chips I had on my plate (7 chips in total).

First time using this cafe, (Thai staff.... offering Thai cuizine but not sure of times), cleverly associating itself with the strong positive image of our late Queen. Lots of photos, quirky life-size model and red, white and blue. Well frequented by locals for their coffee, tea, snacks and chat, greeted warmly by front of house lady who is very welcoming. Cooks are quiet, efficient, busy and evidently take hygiene very seriously, wearing gloves and hair nets. Cafe is airy, clean and pleasant with outdoor seating and parasols. I had leisurely morning tea, served in china tea pot providing 3 good servings, tasty breakfast omelette and two slices of buttered toast, on traditional matching service. £8.75 Altogether a pleasant, unhurried experience.

Great food and reasonable prices. I often have a vegetarian breakfast. Staff very friendly and flexible allowing me to order a couple of sausages for my dog(dog friendly). Lovely location in St Marychurch precinct with tables outside.

First time I have visited here and what a pleasant surprise. Very friendly owners and staff. Food was excellent and good value. We sat outside on the pedestrian precinct enjoying the lovely sunshine.

The staff are brilliant. The food is also lovely but could do with the portions being bigger.

First of all I would like to say I’m regretting giving a one star. They deserve ZERO stars. I was out with my family, we were looking for somewhere homely and nice to settle and have a lovely hearty meal, the cafe was empty yet it took the staff 10-15 mins to take my order and they questioned my grand daughter about her age (ageist) because she ordered off the 12’s menu. I completed my order, and 20 mins had passed. No food had arrived eventually the nuggets arrived. There were ONLY 3 nuggets and about 7 chips that were not fully cooked. The staff after handing me the nuggets then started talking about my grand daughter saying, and I quote, ‘she looks much much older than 12, I decided to tell them if they feel the need to slag me and my family off then they should do it to our faces. I decided that this establishment was not the place due to the obnoxiousness of the ladies, we walked out. Oh and what’s worse is we never received our omelette. I will NEVER return and I will NEVER recommend this establishment. Do not recommend. 0/5 stars. Thank you

Food was just ok, but served quickly and the staff was friendly, but delivered the baked beans with their thumb dipped in them. The apparently off-duty staff member who came in shouting about being ill and fake coughing all over the place was very off-putting. Whatever spread they use in their baguettes is vile, too.

Absolutely perfect place for afternoon tea We come here every year when on holiday and our son loves to see the owners son as he always remembers my son has his scrambled eggs with toast on the side , the scones are perfect we talk about them all year and this is our first day visit always. Owners are so friendly and welcoming please take no notice of negative review especially the one regarding milkshakes and prawn sandwich as the customer responses prove otherwise that this place is first class , looking forward to visiting you again on the 3rd April for our scones and cream 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

A friendly, lively cafe in St Mary church precinct. I only had a coffee and teacake there, as a short time limit. I looked at the menu. Good value wholesome meals available at reasonable prices. Special coffee time packages. For example a set price coffee/teacake or crumpets. People like a good deal. Something to suit all pockets. A hot drink reward card available too. A good idea.

Eggie bacy traditional working class cafe plus Thai. Friendly community feeling. Very reasonable. Their Thai dishes are OK. I tried them once but now generally stick to the English breakfast dishes. Nice pots of tea

Bright clean cafe, newly rebranded as the Queen Elizabeth cafe. All the walls adorned with framed pictures of the late Queen Elizabeth II A welcoming atmosphere. Accessible for all. Excellent table service. I had an all day breakfast for just £6.25. Good quality food and excellent value for money. Well worth a visit

I used to have breakfast here after work. Nice food, great service and lovely atmosphere. The picture with the Queen was on the jubilee weekend. I highly recommend this place

Barely pulled a chair out, before being greeted with a menu. Lovely community spirit around us, food served quickly and was nice. Locals and cafe owners were familiar and supportive of each other. Young man (assume owners son) served our drinks and food and ensured we had cutlery etc. As we are local given a loyalty card for our next visit. Would recommend this place, and it's hard working team.

The food was not very good. The english waitress was slow and didnt have any manners/ no please or thank you. It took 50 minutes for all the food to come to the table after they got my order wrong. For 4 people nothing complicated i.e sandwiches. They didn't seem bothered that it had taken so long so no apologies. Thats why i give it 1*

Stopped by for some lunch as the cafe looked nice and clean and the menu looked okay with reasonable prices. Sat down and it took around 15mins for our order to be taken which was two cold drinks, two cold sandwiches, one hot sandwich and two bowls of chips. Unfortunately it took at least an hour to receive the first sandwich followed 10mins for the next sandwich and then another 10mins for our last sandwich which had to be returned due to what should have been a cold egg mayonnaise sandwich arriving hot. Once this was sent back we were still waiting for our two portions of chips. In the meantime the other two had finished their meals. I also noticed that other tables were getting their meals at random times. Although food was okay when it did arrive correctly the length of time waiting was totally unacceptable for such a simple order.

A good place to munch some grub, not the best, but not the worst. Myself and my wife really didn't like the sausages they served with the cooked breakfast. Everything else was lovely.

Congratulations to the team for keeping their 5 star food hygiene award, which is clearly shown on the front window. My elderly parents and I had refreshing milkshake’s on a hot summers day. Thankfully the drinks are made with syrup not powder. Three prawn salads , however slight error in that we received two salads and one sandwich.Genuine error but rectified quickly. Prawns were lovely and chilled. Very reasonable price's, good service even with the one mistake. The owner even offered to reduce the bill for their error with the food. We declined but thought what a professional and refreshing attitude.Must revisit if we return to St. Marychurch.

To reply to Jed King review I was in the café Babbs that day you was in.The owner was so lovely you to and your family .She didn't charge you for your prawn sandwich and also when out of her way to try and please you.Also I noticed the food and hygiene certificate was very clearly displayed in the window .

Unpretentious food at good prices, we have the all day breakfast whenever we are in St Marychurch.

Had a great breakfast would recommend.

Ordered milkshakes, got 2 lukewarm milks with banana powder in for £2.50, absolute cheek u can buy milkshake powder for £2.50 I could've made everything we had at home for a fraction of the cost, mum ordered a prawn sandwich, got a prawn salad, sent back, when we did get the prawn sandwich the prawns were frozen, the lady explained "thats how the locals like it" , what frozen ?! I ordered burger and chips and got burger and a couple of potato shavings, again, not very cooked. I didn't see any food hygiene certificates anywhere, place needs closing down. Or checked out by the local hygiene inspector.

Staff here are awesome and the food is pretty good. Love the little guy working there!

A brilliant place to eat and visit

The perfect classic British cafe. Family run by really sweet people. We were just passing through town, but it was obvious that they had lots of local regulars. Good food and excellent prices. They are dog friendly too!
