Great place, Peter booked us a table as we were a group of 6. Breakfast was amazing and reasonably priced, and came out very quickly given such a big order. Nice atmosphere in a local cafe and great location if you are planning any activities at the Quay like us. Coffee was good quality.

Love the dog friendly policy and welcoming vibe of this corner cafe overlooking the Quay. Couple serving were friendly and helpful. Coffee and enormous croissant were great. However, the cafe was quiet and as I sat and enjoyed the view of the Quay, the passing joggers and walkers and birds on the river, my eyes crept to the general presentation of the cafe. Essentially the main aspects are covered but the windows were dirty in areas where small or large hands or dogs wouldn't usually make marks. When I used the toilet the hot tap came away from the sink in my hand, there were other noticeable housekeeping aspects which have been missed. The lovely servers were scrolling on their phones a good deal of the time I was in this cafe. A bit more attention to cleanliness, sorting those little maintenance jobs like taps in the wash basin, light switches, wiping walls and windows down etc.. is needed to make this cafe tip top. There could be a bit of a rearrangement of street furniture to make the entrance more accessible and obvious, if you want customers draw them in with a clear route, clear sign and a warm welcome.

I came in here to escape the cold 🥶 and warm-up! Was pleasantly surprised it wasn't very busy (Saturday at about 11 a.m.) as some places can be jam-packed ! Had a lovely cup of tea and cheese scone, sat by the window, and watched the world go by with my book 📖 very nice lady and gentleman working, very friendly and welcoming and will definitely be coming back especially if it's not so busy on a Saturday morning 😀

This place is totes amazing. I popped in to the cafe with the deepest desire to avoid gale force winds and inhale some calories whilst cycling from dorset to South Hams. Whilst the all day breakfast was amazingly tempting, I went for a baked beans and scrambled egg on toast combo... and OMG, the portion was generous and exceptionally well presented.... with butter and a wedge of bread vice some meh slice of toast from the supermarket . Hot and enjoyable, the food itself would be a reason to visit, but hey, the team also let me charge my phone and let me avoid the worst of the weather as I plucked up the courage to cycle the final 38 miles... All in all. A great gaff selling tasty food and further blessed by really engaging staff. Whilst other cafes in Exeter have a standard 'no' to going the extra mile, these champs aced it. Definitely recommended.

Okay food, but don't be in a hurry! 40 minutes to serve some toast and a sandwich! Watched a mother and child next to us get 1 of 2 meals, the other meal was served just as we were leaving. No consistency, no organisation, 40 minutes to make a sandwich when there were zero other customers waiting... must say it tasted good, however more like through desperation. The girls serving were really nice and did a good job as best they could. Chef issues. Many other places to eat almost next door.

What a treat! We popped in to give my son something to eat (they did jackets and sausage rolls), but had a fab experience. Great seats by the window overlooking the quay (a good chance to do some people and dog watching), friendly and accommodating staff and an extensive menu. My son enjoyed his jacket, my daughter had the best brie, bacon and cranberry panini she's ever had and my wife and I shared a very generous portion of soup and granary cob, which was delicious and plenty for two. Thoroughly recommend, especially if you want to escape the busyness of Exeter City centre.

Food was awful I had a ham and tomato toastie unfortunately the filling was not cooked and I had large pieces of tomato and very dry ham. The whole cafe was unorganised with stacks of plates left outside of the kitchen with waste food on them. It appeared the staff had no idea how to run what is a very small cafe The only saving grace was the young waitress she was the only calm person in the cafe.. Won't be returning !!

The coffee was good and service was quick. The food however was fairly underwhelming. We had the cooked breakfast and roast veg wrap. Overly fatty bacon was undercooked (I prefer mine at least a little bit crispy!), leaving me with huge strips of inedible pale, flabby fat on my plate. I also had to pay extra for mushrooms but only received (what looked like) a single mushroom sliced up! The tomatoes on the plate were warm but, like the bacon, seemingly undercooked. The vegetables in the "Roast Veg Wrap" were basically raw, although my partner said she still enjoyed it. At one point we heard the cook shout to front of staff that she had "messed up the eggs" and so would have to do them again. Friendly-enough staff and cakes/scones looked good — shame we didn't have any. Premises clean and attractive and nice location. Probably would go again for coffee and cake but not for food.

On a wet and windy dog walk I decided to stop at Quayside Cafe for a warm up coffee. The staff were immediately extremely polite asking me what they could get to 'warm me up' whilst greeting my dog Molly with some tasty dog biscuits. For any dog walker wanting to escape the blustery conditions of the quayside, looking for a dog friendly warm, dry break in between your walk or simply looking for a pleasant cafe with a warm and friendly atmosphere then I highly recommend this cafe. The coffee was lovely - with hot milk for extra warmth. A small biscuit is always is a bonus when you order a drink at a coffee shop and it's even more of a bonus when your dog gets one too. Thank you to the staff and customers for a lovely atmosphere and delightful morning break from wet and windy conditions and home working cabin fever!

New owners, I wish them well but the size of a standard coffee has reduced, the price of panini's have risen by £1. The bread used for my sandwich fell apart when cutting, £5.50 for that and a few green leaves and tomatoes. The option of having the sandwich I so desperately craved was no longer available. 2*

Summary: the food took 25 minutes, i was served the emptiest and smallest wrap I've ever seen also with the smallest side salad and without anything else. Very underwhelming given the time. However staff were friendly (young girl had a very bright smile), apologetic, and took my complaint on-board. Would of been nice to fill out the wrap, include a handful of crisps and a small portion of coleslaw or something like just about every place I've been to as it was it was not a meal. Probably won't return though unfortunately.
