Overpriced, but aside from that the staff were all rude children - they didn't smile, didn't say hello or anything and just ignored us when we were waiting to be seen. These kids need some adult supervision and some training.

If this place didn't have the footfall from the country park it would have closed down years ago. All the staff are unbelievably rude and not a care in the world. The food is over priced, coffee is ok if you actually get more than 50% coffee 50% foam and don't expect service with a smile. It's an absolute gold mine and such a shame it goes to waste on such a nasty bunch of people.

Not as advertised! On the internet this is described ad as a cafe offering locally sourced and varied ingredients. Hot and cold food including salads are offered. In fact this cafe closed during covid and has never reopened. Now it’s a mobile type offering typical burgers hotdogs sandwiches or sausage rolls. You can still sit inside in the old premises but it’s pretty soulless. I wouldn’t mind nbut it would be nice if they updated the web info

We arrived at the café around 12 noon there were only two packets of sandwiches available on the "refrigerated display" both sandwiches showed signs of being exposed to the sun for some time and looked unappetising. The sandwiches and drinks clearly had not benefited from any refrigeration. The young lady who served us was clearly not concerned about us and our observations she also clearly lacked any social skills. If! we return we will defiantly be taking our own food.

Honestly right from the start we arrived at 17:30 and was greeted by a member of staff saying a little too loudly “naw mate tell them were closed hahaha” to her colleague ( the rude one was dark haired and wore glasses) who had blonde hair and a tattoo on her neck, this girl served us without issue, standard over pricing for a park cafe so nothing new there however lukewarm coffee bordering cold is not usual, after this whilst we sat considering approaching the owner two young teens approached to be served 17:45 the young staff all hid out back except for the dark haired glasses wearing kid (some kind of supervisor I’m guessing due to filling out paperwork in a folder) who stood there laughing, eventually the staff came back in and again we could hear jokes about being closed, the couple of teens walked off looking embarrassed. We left around 18:00 as they were closing up and before that they had served ice creams and alcohol so we’re in fact not closed. Really rude and childish unprofessional service. The blonde was the only one who resembled any kind of professionalism, Coming from a catering background and Managment my advice would be to fire the kids starting with the dark haired one. A side note she resembles the gentleman who works there wearing an apron and glasses(likely the owner as only adult in sight) so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is his daughter. Hence the unprofessional conduct in the workplace as the responsibility is a joke to her. Anyway it ruined the experience at the park and judging by the reviews I’m not alone in this I recommend packing a picnic

2 coffees... How difficult was that??? Apparently very difficult... Two miserable and rude staff... One serving food... While scratching hair, coughing into hands... And then taking the lids off burgers to add customers sauces... In normal circumstances for a food server this is all a big NO NO... But hello ooo we are in the middle of a pandemic!!! And you could be a super spreader... We had just a coffee and observed from a nearby table the actions going on... When I say "coffee"... I use the term very loosely.. Cos there certainly wasn't much coffee in it... Or the grains were recycled because it was tasteless and colourless... Very disappointing... Lovely sunny morning, 2 of us behind one other in the queue. approx. 5 staff milling about, with one taking orders. Son in law eventually got an uncomplicated order sorted. I waited 5 minutes whilst she talked to a friend behind me and served her a free ice cream. Then asked if she could help me; was actually surprised I hadn't been served yet! The Steak Bake turned into a scalding hot Cheese Pasty. The quiche was stone cold and not very nice. expensive too. No one wanted to take responsibility and it felt a bit cliquey!!!!

This place has a lot of potential, but completely unfulfilled! We won't return! We'd just had a great time at Jungle park and we weren't really expecting such a poor service and below standard food. Staff did not seem professional or even interested in being nice to you at all (apart from one young lady who was making the drinks, who actually had her long dark hair tied back and looked like she cared about what she was doing.) Food was bland, salad was almost wilted. My husband had a coronation chicken sandwich which he thought tasted strange. I think what we found the strangest today was to have fly papers hanging all around the café dining room. Maybe we weren't supposed to be sitting there...I don't know. I got the feeling that the staff there was young and not trained properly in how to serve customers. So probably not their fault entirely but it's a shame because it's the only place to eat at the park and it would be great if the food as nicer. Can do a lot better! (oh, and they brought our sandwiches to our table but I had to request our drinks as they forgot them - everything arrived at different times: husband's latte first - sandwiches next - drinks when I got up to ask for them)

We weren't shown the full menu until we'd ordered baguettes/soup from a very limited 'specials' board (and had sternly been told 'no' when we'd requested slight variations). The baguettes were OK, but the leek & potato soup tasted as though it had far too much white pepper. [Note to chef:leek & pot soup isn't supposed to be spicey]. I had the feeling that complaints wouldn't be taken seriously, so I just left it. All the staff looked thoroughly miserable except one, who tried hard to make up for the others. The seating area would have benefitted from a good clean. Overall, an unpleasant eating experience during an otherwise happy family day out at this beautiful park. Having read other reviews on Trip, I'm puzzled as to why this cafe is still trading (although it was pretty empty when we visited). Such a shame! This could be a thriving business with better management and customer-focussed service.

Upon entering we asked if we should queue or sit to order food, we were told to sit. After a good ten minutes we asked when they were taking our order, as they had served lots of people queuing but the young waitress ignored us and after another ten minutes they still had not taken our order. After complaining a young waiter did come to take our order. He was dismissive and his uniform and hands were very dirty. Another 15 minutes later when we asked how long it would be, he was downright rude. We complained to the manager that could not be bothered either way and left. If you want to be treated with a complete lack of customer service and rudeness then by all means visit this establishment, good luck.

We waited forever to be served due to incredibly slow service from the 4 members of staff behind the till, who were all just standing around looking like they were (or would rather be) somewhere else rather than working in a busy cafe in the Easter holidays. My biggest concern however was the visible lack of cleanliness of the young boys serving that concerned me the most, filthy hands and clothing... really put me off ordering anything at all, even if I did ever get to the front of the queue.... Shame as we'd always enjoyed eating at the cafe previously the staff were always fab and food lovely, but sadly not the case anymore....

After having a lovely walk around the country park, we decided we was hungry and went to the Quarrymans rest cafe burger van, wow is all I can say. What seemed to be the man in charge was so rude!! When we asked if they took card, his response said read the sign, it clearly states down there. To which there was no sign about card payment just that they didn’t sell chips, so firstly I don’t think sarcasm is how you was taught to speak to your customers and also get your facts right before you say things that aren’t actually correct. There was obviously young lads that hadn’t worked there long, but they got the orders wrong a couple of time, made a sausage and egg bap when we ordered bacon and egg and forgot the cups of tea, to be honest there just looked like there was no organisation or decent management to train these young lads.. then maybe it would run a bit smoothly as being sarcastic & rude to customers is probably not the best management skills or role modelling to be promoting. Such a shame.

One hour later we still didn't have the sandwiches. 2 children sat and waited patiently but this is completely unacceptable. We asked twice and were told it's on its way. Just as we gave up it started to arrive- and didn't look appealing. We left with no food and extremely disappointed children. Booked a table for 9 to follow a visit to Jungle PARC. Initially we were happy to have chosen to eat at the cafe rather than bring along a picnic because the forecast was for rain, (as it happened the rain held off until later in the day). The cafe has a lot of food and drinks options and there was plenty to choose from to cater for everyone's tastes but it all went a bit wrong with the food order. A child's sandwich was made up using brown bread when white bread had been requested. The wrong filling was put in a panini and my husband's roast dinner didn't appear at all. It had been forgotten! We watched whilst the staff served themselves lunch and sat down at a neighbouring table. After asking where the roast dinner was there was not so much as a mumbled apology. It finally arrived over five minutes later after the rest of us had finished our lunches. We decided against having anything else because despite the cakes looking very tasty we weren't convinced they even appriciated our custom or that we would get the food we had chosen. The place is over run with staff, but they only seemed interested in feeding themselves. No apologies for the poor service, there didn't appear to be anyone managing the place. The food we did have was OK but overpriced. If we go back to the country park we will be bringing along our own packed lunch.

In a large group, there's usually someone who doesn't like something, but everyone was 100% happy! Cold food on nice cold plates and hot food on hot plates (I do hate it the other way round!). Everyone's meals served together, no waiting. The cooking is great, I had the traditional Christmas dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. I think there were 6 different veg, might have been more! Service is great too. I don't know what its like as a cafe during the day, but for clubs and groups I can definitely recommend this to book for your outings. If there's more than 10 of you, you get exclusive use I believe.

The cafe itself was clean and well presented - it looked lovely and welcoming with nice food on display and good seating. However, after looking through the menu, we found it to be very over-priced! A panini was £5.90 at its cheapest! - the others were all above £6! And all we had was ham and chedderit was served with a spoonful of coleslaw and a little bit of salad. The meal was nice, don't get me wrong, but the price was a little bit too much in my opinion. Also, the menu's were a little grubby - just A4 paper laminated - they didn't equal the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. The man serving was polite, helpful and welcoming and overall we had a nice meal, but next time I think we will take our own food - or just have a drink.

I was quite desperate for a cup of tea so called in at this very smart cafe in the centre of Irchester Country Park. There are interesting photographs inside, of the site when it was an ironstone quarry. Cakes are gorious with a good selection and mostly of a home made variety. A good selection of dishes are on the menu for lunch times and early breakfasts. The place looked cosy on a miserable day. Shame that I had to sit outside, but then, I had my labardor dog Harvey with me so can't complain at that. The only thing that spoilt it for me was £2.20 for a take away tea. Outside there is a great outdoor adventure play area and interesting information on the project and local wildlife. See the website for opening times of the adventure area and the splendid railway museum a short walk away. They are very friendly and are prepared to answer any questions you might have. A good shop sells all sorts of souveniers at the railway centre and a selection of secondhand books.

We decided to come here for a birthday lunch. The table had been reserved which we strongly recommend if you are visiting during the weekend. We decided on the two cocktails offer and two large carvery’s. We we both wished we had chosen the standard size. There was a choice of beef and gammon with the usual trimmings and plenty of vegetables to choose from or try all. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The meat was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire, roasted potatoes and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, mash, green beans, cabbage, stuffing and gravy were all perfect. Highly recommend at £8.99 for a standard and £10.99 for a large, it was exceptional value. We will definitely be back for the carvery.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation had been recently modernised. The breakfast was adequate, though its presentation lacked care and attention to detail. Sadly the hotel is in need of basic maintenance: our toilet and shower did not work properly so we had to be given access to another room. Two of our room windows were screwed shut, and the hardware on the third window, which did open, was hanging off. There was mould on the shower tile grouting. The entrance to our room, directly from the courtyard car park, needed to be swept and weeded.

Not complaint about food but question what product is used to clean tables. Was there today in lunch hour where met friend. When got back to office in town at 2.00 noticed that the left of lower of black sleeved sweater was discoloured as if bleached. It was not like that before lunch. It can only have happened after young lady had wiped table down with spray. Sweater that was expensive (Ted Baker) is ruined. A therefore expensive jacket potato!
