I ordered a vegetarian dinner and asked a worker at Quarks with red hair if I was allowed to have sauce on my food. Before I said anything to her she had a go at me saying " I can't hear you" then approaching me quite abruptly. I then asked if I could have sauce and she poured it all over my food then said " it's not vegetarian by the way" and there isn't any more food. I told her that other people who ordered vegetarian also had the sauce and she said " well it's got chicken in it". There wasn't any more hot food and her solution was to give me a salad which would not have been filling for dinner. I told her that I was going to go to Gregg's as I knew it was a walk away and she said " well you better be quick". I was quite upset as the shops had closed for the day and I ended up walking to Waitrose and back with took me 1 hour and 30 minutes. She has a bad attitude and ruined my evening.

Amazing experience. I have very specific dietary requirements and the staff couldn't do enough for me. They made me a 2 day meal plan and cooked me specific meals. I nearly didn't come to York as I was worried about my health but I was blown away by the level of service and professionalism. The food was excellent too.

Decent place to stay, our room wasn't one used in the pics but it was still decent enough, the shower was pretty rubbish mind, would stay again no issues.

This evening, the service was shocking. It took a little longer then usual to order, but clearly were understaffed so can understand the circumstances. However, the manager on shift, Mike, was rude and a poor example of a manger. Mike ignored our table several times, leaving us feeling neglected. When asked to apply a discount onto our bill, as only mangers can apply the code, we finally received our bill after asking 4 times taking 40 minutes. It should not take that long to pay. This is unacceptable and I would recommend going elsewhere if you’re after an efficient service.
