Cooplands in York

Visited the Coopands in Acomb four times recently, first occasion was served by someone who couldn't have been more helpful, asking me if I wanted to take up an offer making my purchases cheaper. Unfortunately, since then have been served by what can only be described as being rude staff, whereby it seems like you are putting them out by going in and expecting to be served. Today was no exception, took a while for the staff member to turn to face the counter and then as they were supposed to be serving me, was too busy looking out of the window at what was going on outside to look at where she was handing the change!! No please and thank you either!!!

I am a regular customer to Cooplands Acomb York. It's a lovely friendly shop with wonderful display of snack , pastries and yummy cakes Lately it seems to have a more jolly happy atmosphere than before . The manageress is lovely and staff always obling. One happy customer 😀

Don’t know why anyone bothers getting sandwiches from this place. They put a minimal amount of filling into a huge bread roll, a single wilted Lettus leaf and charge you silly money for the privilege of throwing half in the bin because it has no taste. One of the worst Bakeries I’ve ever encountered. Not worth it! Go elsewhere.

I had a lovely experience in here today, i am compelled to tell the world. Three lovely cheerful men made sandwiches for us whilst they chatted to every customer with respect and a real great happy vibe. The tunes were on and these three guys were obviously enjoying their work. Put me in a right good mood. Just stopping work to eat my lovely sandwich and felt like they needed to know that they're doing a grand job. Good work lads!

I bought 2 packs of bread buns on Wed and had 2 bin them on thur as they had mould on them

I got 2 Danish pastry's were just put in bag so time I did rest shopping and got home all the icing was stuck on bag looked horrid may cover with plastic wrap before the bag

My little girl wanted cheese straws. So 6 is for £1.50, £0.45 each. They only had 5 left, the guy wanted to charge me £2.25... I was like can you change me for the 6 for £1.50, but he was adamant that it doesn't work like that.... I think it is not a fair trade as I was happy to buy 6 but they did not have 6 only 5. I didn't buy it at the end...hope you have to bin them! Awful customer service!

We used to love your cake/bread ect but this last few months the standard is going down the pastry is pale and under baked in many cases ,the shelves are under stocked to say the least, acomb is missing cooplands

I came yesterday (22nd Sept) at lunch time and brought back sausage rolls for my colleagues, I've never been disappointed before but all 4 had chewy hard bits in the sausage meat? We couldn't eat them any further. Really hope Cooplands aren't changing anything with their meat as it put us all off. Hope it was just a small bad batch. I'll try again, if there's more chewy hard bits in, I will have to not shop there again and a bad review goes further than a good one.

Prices gone up, quality gone down! Isn't just the one at Acomb, no matter which one you go too it just keeps getting worse with each visit to the point I'm no longer going to go there anymore. Cooplands use to be great but now I wouldn't give their food to my dog, she deserves better.

I recently went to grab some lunch and instead of getting a festive iced bun, I was given a fruited danish and I wasn't allowed to return it for no reason. I was also given packaged sausage rolls instead of fresh ones on display which were cold and were a higher price than usual.

Great staff lovely cakes and hot sausage rolls and a great place too have a sandwich made for you.

Miserable moody staff don't give you a proper bag to put your food in asked for a steak pie and 3 steak slices which came to nearly £10 got home the pie was bland and they gave me chicken slices instead of steak the staff also looked stoned. We seriously need a Gregg's back in acomb won't be buying here again. AVOID!

Nicely stocked throughout the day and the staff are always pleasent.

Absolutely shocking Staff are rude and all warm food was ice cold Never again!

Would actually kill for their strawberry tarts

Depending on what time you get here they either have everything or nearly nothing. I love their apple pasties, cheese and bacon wrap and chocolate flapjack

Two cold pasties and the cheeseburger one wasn't even cooked. Wouldn't even feed them to the geese. Disgusting
