QQ Grill, Restaurant & Lounge in Barking and Dagenham

I've been there a few times and always had a great time. The food is delicious and the atmosphere loud and lively. Only drawback is the length of time to wait for the food, but this is because everything is cooked from scratch. However, the flavours and delicious taste make up for it. I highly recommended QQ if you enjoy or would like to try African cuisine. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the food a little bit pricey, but it was worth the wait , I like the ambience reminds me of naija, the pool table is one in town bump to play with your card or phone 📱

Staff are rude and non attentive. Staff would rather watch football on the TV than provide customer service. Lack of communication and coordination, I ordered 6 items on the menu and only 4 went through because the waiter was more interested in the football. The food I ordered for takeaway was wrong and when questioned I was told “it wasn’t on the order slip”, luckily I had my receipt and when showing them they didn’t even have the audacity to apologise or acknowledge their mistake. The food takes forever to arrive to the table, although the food itself is half decent I would never go back due to the service provided.

Would have rated it higher but: 1. The meat was inedibly TOUGH. Almost broke a tooth 2. Music was great! but so loud we couldn't hear each other 3. I asked for a takeaway container for my jollof and the girl behind the bar had the cheek to suck her teeth at me and tell me it would cost me. I probably would have paid if it wasnt for her disgusting attitude. We only ended up here because Kings Lounge was so busy. I certainly wont be coming back.

I ordered a takeaway app where they didn’t have the option to have beef stew so I called the restaurant and the guy spoke to said no worries they’ll add it in as a replacement of another stew I ordered so then I placed the order with this knowledge and I called back to let them know my order number and which one it is to change, but then a lady (Ade) picked up instead and said what the guy said wasn’t correct and that I wasn’t able to change my order and if I wanted to add stew, I would have to place another order again, means I have to pay extra delivery extra service fees everything. So that’s what I did and I called her and she said yes don’t worry will change it order one arrives. The order arrives and it’s the wrong thing. I call her and she confirms that they didn’t change it. She the said there is nothing they can do about it, no solution no nothing. There was absolutely no empathy on her side not even an attempt to rectify the situation. Customer service is absolutely ridiculous, I don’t recommend at all

Service was incredibly slow however the food was very nice

Bought jollof rice with beef and there was a fish bone in the rice. I don't know how it ended up in there. Also the rice texture was there like rubber. Just disgusting

I ordered two meals to take awayand was given a 25 minutes waiting time. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited for my food. After waiting for another 30 minutes, I was told that my order is not available on the menu of the day.

Was very disappointed with the service. The order took long to prepare and when it was served, I had no cutlery to eat with, I had to ask for it. I must say though that the server brought a bowl of water to wash hands with. For drinks, I ordered cranberry juice. To my surprise the server brought the whole carton of juice ( 1 litre) without even a glass ; so I had to ask for a glass. When we had finished eating we asked for a doddy bag to take leftovers, the server brought us a card machine and said the doggy bags were £ 2. I've not heard of that before and I've eaten in so many restaurants over time and don't recall ever being asked to pay for a doddy bag. - The portions were very generous, my friend and I were pleased about that, but over all, I wasn't impressed. Ps! I must also add that it was my first time dining in a Nigerian restaurant, and that didn't give me a good impression.

Let's be honest this place is a rip-off Abula for £20 with meat cut up in small pieces like your feeding a 2year old this is not it. There are places that are doing abula for £15 with proper pomo big cuts of shaki and proper cut of beef. Had the abula for takeaway was disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food considering the price. Also ordered grilled talipia with Yam, which was disappointing. Also, let's just say the fish might aswel been sushi was very wet and not properly grilled for £25 it should be done properly. Please don't waste your time or money on this place.

The food is nice but the service not so great.

Waited over one hour for my food which I was ok with since it’s a big fish I ordered ( the croaker with yam and plantain) now the food came and it was cold ! Cold ?? How on earth cAn you bring me cold food ? The plantain and yam were 6 piece each ! So small and they were not nice piece , plantain was hard and was the yam ! Nothing fresh, I was so disappointed. The fish itself had no real flavour , tiny bit of peppers were there and some tiny sauce( the sauce was nice ) thats the only thing in the order that was nice , the sauce. It is a shame you pay a high price and they bring you supbar food . I will not order from them again.

Ok it was cold, table was shaky, very noisy, table was dirty, had to call three staff members before it was cleaned. Ordered more drinks 🍸 took repeating it three times before it came. Food took a while but was the best part of the night. The Dj was fantastic 👏

They have one of the best suya in Essex. Worth the price

Visited in 2022, and enjoyed the food, revisited. Ordered Suya, turkey wing, jollof with fish. Suya arrived 20 minutes after ordering, and the turkey wing arrived, 15 minutes after suya. Waited 2 hours for the main meal. I cursed so hard and requested a refund to be told, I can not have one, but informed 3 times, my food was on its way. Upon arrival, the food was on point. Lovely, flavoursome jollof rice. They seem to favour take away orders over customers dining in, so you see lots of orders leaving, Uber coming and going, but not your food arriving. This got on my last nerve, and if they didn't have my £60 I would have walked out. Nice food, but be prepared to wait. Complaining is of no use on deaf ears. The waitress delivered the main meal but failed to take the plate from the starter, so my friend had to sit with dirty plate. Honestly, we didn't know whether to laugh or cry 🤣🙈

It took 2hrs20mins to prepare and serve my food. The man behind the bars is so rude and not friendly. After all the wait, the food was salty. When a complained, they were so arrogant and aloof.

Staff female servers so reluctant and non chalant behaviour 😒 lack of professionalism. Walking around with their phones whilst serving customers. No proper dressing with pierced belly button. Management need to adjust that behaviour it stinks and degrades the restaurant. Food was great. Live music on Fridays.

The Sharwama took forever to come . Almost an hour . Way too late .. Minus 1⭐️ is well deserved

The service wasn't great. It took ages for my food to arrive and when I got my grilled fish it was mediocre. I won't be going back. If I could give the restaurant - 1 star I would. A complete waste of money.

Had a good birthday outing with my friend at QQ Grill. Well prepared food, nice atmosphere for touch and feel of African cuisines. I recommend it for group hangout.

You pay a fair amount for money to get a small portion of food. I had to make a second order to compensate myself. I found the customer service poor, there was no willingness to understand or even resolve my complaint, just the same old defensive challenge. I’m afraid I can’t recommend this restaurant to new customers, they seem set to serve only individuals it already knows well, such brazen ineptitude is grossly unprofessional and you should never as an individual or business let yourself get to this place.

Me and my family got food poisoning from here. They seem to be cooking with rotten oil that they don’t regularly clean/replace. Also I have come here a few times and each time the workers are unprofessional, they get the orders wrong because they would prefer to try and remember everything rather than write it down and then in the end they will over charge and when you prove their mistake, they cannot even apologise. I would not recommend this place, honestly it looks nice and the music is good but you will feel regret after spending your money here. There are so many other Nigerian restaurants nearby that provide better service, vibes and really good food like tasty’s and enish.

Green stew portion was a pure rip off extremely disappointed

Visit with a friend who highly recommended the grilled meat menu at this Nigerian restaurant. It is well appointed and roomy with a snooker table at the rear end, and good afrobeat music in the background. It was quiet, weekday, and service was prompt with a good varied menu. Yup, the grilled meat was super and the (fried) plantain was crispy, the way I like it. Prices are reasonable also. Good location and easy to park.

Good food, spacious seating, the jellof here is the one. Spicy goat meat is proper tings, service is average and the prices are high. But everything is high right now in life. Would defo return, hard to find authentic food on dagenham.

Sadly it took over 1hr 30 mins to get our order delivered. The Egusi soup requested, had stew inside it. This usually shouldn’t have stew. Good enough, the staff on duty was able to change the soup without the stew inside it.

This is the worst place ever. DO NOT BUY FOOD HERE YOU WILL REGRET. THEIR ATTITUDE STINKS. WORST OF THE WORST

Amazing food, I have tried a few other locals and this restaurant by far serves the most authentic tasting nigerian food. Food has splendid favours, they also have a take away in Barking, my go to place every week

Ayamase was horrible 2 pieces of tiny burnt meat the size of a 50p coin. Plantain wasn’t fried well. Overpriced food and small portions. Enish is way better. Absolute waste of money. Boycott needed!

I waited 2 hours for my food to arrive. Literately everyone got served but me. I wasn’t rude to anyone so the way I was treated does not make sense. I only asked for grilled tilapia. Very very bad bad. If I could give -10 I would. I don’t tend to leave bad reviews unless it’s really bad.

Unfortunately, after eating here several times. I have gotten food poisoning from this restaurant. This was the only meal I had during the day and within a few hours I was vomiting, nauseous, diarrhoea and feeling weak. This has caused me not to be able to even go into work and I am self employed. I have complained to the restaurant directly and it seemed like I was just shrugged off. I will definitely be writing to Food Standards about this. It hurts me to write this but I must inform people so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else!!!!

Starter was amazing, hence the reason for the 2 stars. The main meals were nothing to write home about. Your home made meal probably tastes better. Half of the items on the menu were also unavailable. Though the staff were nice. Service was extremely delayed!

If you want distasteful customer service and mediocre food, then this is the place to go. The abysmal customer service commences on the phone; as you place your order, continues once you enter the restaurant and heightens as you wait a ridiculous amount of time for your so-so food.

Bad customer service. My parents visited here on Valentine’s Day and the customer service was utterly disgusting. My fathers food first and my mums food arrived over 30mins later. They really need to improve their customer service and waiting times. Wouldn’t recommend .

Really poor customer service. I just spent about an hour with my family waiting in vain for the the food we ordered. They did not even bring the appetiser despise us asking repeatedly. They refused to let us have tap water. We had to get up and leave after forcing them to bring the bill for the drinks.

My mother just went to eat dinner here, she said the service was beyond disgusting, the food was bad and would strongly not recommend it, some of the food was cold, they gave her the wrong drink. She also said they went to the chippy to go get chips. I'm guessing if she had a darker skin tone she would of got a better services. They only thing she enjoyed was the brandy lol I think they should not service food

You should stop accepting orders on your website if you won’t deliver on time. 2 hours delivery is not acceptable.

2 hours for delivery why? I called for Palm Oil to not be used in my egusi and they said no, as the food is PRE made. 2 hours for food that is not fresh is a joke. Bring the food cold let me microwave it myself just give me warning and a reasonable delivery time. The suya is good in store but if you order you will be disappointed as it will arrive cold.

Food is good but home delivery is ridiculously long, especially on the weekends. If want to eat your meal at home by 6pm I suggest your order by 4pm

Got there really late, but Temi was super gracious and let us order anything on the menu. Had the grilled fish. It was excellent. Accompanying plantain was just right: crispy on the outside & juicy inside. Ordering extra portions of QQ sauce is a MUST. Sooo goood. Think I'll visit again. Tomorrow sounds about right ...

Very disappointed in the food. The Pounded yam was not fresh at all! How can you expect someone to eat such? The stew on the efo was tasteless talk less of the efo. An absolute waste of money. Very again!

Went there 29 May 21 at around 5/6pm, I was in the area so thought let me order take away as I was going back to Central London. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very nice and when I got there the person that received me at the door was really nice too (possibly the same person on the phone I am unsure) So I am told to go the bar and I say hello once I arrive he asks for my name then next thing I know he brings the card reader out, the least you can do is confirm my order and restate how much it is, what was that ! So I was quite annoyed I said is it the ayamashe and orijin he said yes I'm like how much is it and he says the price then I proceed to pay. I didn't like how he handle that, that's not professional at all. Now the food itself, it was terrible. I ordered ayamashe tasted nothing like it, it wasn't spicy either there was A LOT of small piece of tripe barely any beef at all and the beef that was there was old, the food did not seem fresh at all. Also I was expecting the African type of long grain rice but got the basmati/thin long grain rice. I was so dissapointed with the food wouldn't go again.

Service is very poor, I had to wait an hour and a half before our food was served and no one came to update us about it, and the quantity was way less than it used to be. The only reason for giving 2 stars rather than one is because the quality of the suya is still outstanding.
