Well where do I start...we have used the qmin on and off since living in wales snd always thought it OK over the last 2 years..Well we had a takeaway tonight and I can honestly say this was one of the best takeaways I have had in a long time. I had a chicken jalfrezi and the significant other had a green chicken masala with pilau rice....was lush, ...keep it up qmin...

On the last few occasions I have gone to the Qmin Merthyr I have been extremely disappointed and shocked at the staffs bad attitude and table manner, they have been not welcoming at all and if anything act like you are an inconvenience for being there, very miserable and definitely not the type of table service you would expect at a restaurant when you’re a paying customer . The chairs we were sat on had no leather left on them, very worn and would suggest they can’t be wiped over for cleaning purposes . I will never go to that restaurant again .

Absolutely stunning food. Has to be the best biryani. Staff were fab. Only thing that lets it down was that it needs a refurbishment badly. Will def return.

Ordered delivery as I do most weeks. Food was very good but delivery was a bit slower than usual. Tandoori chicken, chicken Madras, Anarkali special, sag bhaji and pilau rice all excellent. Will definitely order again.

Absolutely amazing food, delicious, hot and full of flavour. Friendly communication and took on board our requests. Quick delivery too for a Saturday night. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Absolutely terrible service at this restaurant.. 11 of us went for a 21st birthday. The table was booked for 6pm and the food didn’t start coming out until 7.40.. one of our group had to send back chips and rice because she was still waiting for her curry and we had almost finished our meals… continuously had to keep re ordering drinks as they weren’t bringing them … they had 3 staff on.. taking orders on the phone, in the restaurant and delivering food to the tables. When they were asked for a reduction on the price as she had to wait for her meal and because we had waited over an hour and half for food we are told they would take off the price of two cokes… absolutely ridiculous. They even had to take our food order again and that was an hour after we had been sitting there.. also 5 couples came in behind us and all were served before us! They we were told that we couldn’t pay separately at the till.. what is this?? Then after us all sitting there working out what we had had and what drinks and how much individual drinks were he says do u just want to come up and pay for it separately… why couldn’t we just do this in the beginning??? The food on the other hand was lovely.. but I will never go there to eat again . Neither will the rest of the party… shocking service. And the Coke by the way which we were paying £3.50 a pint for was warm and out of a large bottle of pop. Shocking!!

Lovely food , unfortunately very disappointed with the service. We arrived at 6pm, but did not receive any food until 7.40pm. Our order had to be taken twice. Drinks ordered had to be chased continuously. One meal was totally forgotten and the only compensation was two soft drinks taken off the bill. We seemed to be overlooked with priority given to take away orders and other clientele who arrived after us. OVERALL a really bad experience which is such a shame. This was my second visit there will not be a third.

I ordered from the online menu and was quoted £64.90 £8.80 over the online advertised price. I asked why this was and was told that the prices had increased. Which I could understand with prices all going up. I asked for a updated menu to be included with my order. After my son collected my food and I had time to look at the menu. The price I was quoted was wrong, I was charged £2.05 extra!!! When I rang to ask why? I was told it was for the single carrier bag and menu. An unbelievable rip off, I would advise any one, to avoid this restaurant. I will never be using them again and neither will any of my family.

Moved to the heads of the valleys area in April. Qmin is by far the best Indian/Bangladeshi takeaway we've had so far. Seemed really fresh, was piping hot and had great flavours. We had Garlic Chilli Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh, both very flavourful, lots of tender meat to sauce ratio. Also had Channa masala, very soft chickpeas, again very flavourful but was a little dry. Cauliflower bhajee was lovely and Saag Aloo was also really good, creamy potatoes and fresh spinach. All in all, very enjoyable, will definitely be back!

What can I say, just had a takeaway from here and was truly amazing. By far the best takeaway I have had since living here since last August. Will deffo be returning again soon.

Fantastic authentic food Amazing service. Highly recommended I'm very fussy when it comes to food, however the food and service answered all my doubts.

Had a takeaway here 6th Jan. Service was not great. Waited at bar for 10 mins before even being acknowledged. Food was very poor. Ordered Chicken Chat starter and Tandoori Chicken. Both were dreadful. Possibly the worst Indian food I've ever had and I've had plenty!!!If you're in Merthyr I'd opt for the Mango House instead, completely the other end of the scale, with some of the best service and food you'll get at an Indian restaurant/takeaway.

I read previous reviews with puzzlement. We have had multiple takeaways and eat ins over time and we can honestly say we have never had a bad meal, wrong order or delivery delay. The food is freshly cooked to order with ‘real’ not processed bits of chicken or lamb that other takeaways serve. The guys are always polite, friendly and articulate. I would say try for yourself rather than read the negative reviews as they are so off the mark. Please...find out for yourself.

the food is nice if you actually get what you order. This has got to be the 5th time we have ordered over the phone for delivery and every time there is something missing in the delivery. This time i called them back to ask them to deliver the missing part of the order. Nothing happened and when i rang them back to see how long it would be they said i hadnt ordered it! umm yet our bill was the same price as it usually is but yet again its not complete. cant keep on doing this with them its so annoying. Time to go on to Just Eat so at least there is no discrepency because you can see what you have ordered. sorry q min but fed up with your shoddy service

This is the best food in Merthyr Tydfil and the food here is amazing and the staffs are very good, kind, and very helpful. the food I order was chicken tikka masala and it was amazing and the best food I have tasted.

Been here many times for eat in and takeaway. Food always good but service (waiting times) always been poor. Last night no different waiting times long and have to say the food was really sub standard. They must have changed the chef or something. Starters of Chicken Chat and Chicken Pakora really tasteless. And presents appalling just thrown on the plate. Curry I have is always Garlic chilli masala usually nice but it was like a few chunks of chicken immersed in a tangy thin spicy curry sauce. Really disappointing won’t return.

Food hygiene rating (3/5) on the door put us off slightly but we had no other option as this is the only restaurant in the village. We were the only people dining on that evening and stayed for a couple of hours and to be honest the food was bang on. Standard Indian meal and a few drinks came to around £50.00 but it tasted good and the chap serving was great.

This is by far the best tasting Indian food in Merthyr Tydfil without a shadow of a doubt. Yes sometimes you have to wait a while, but it sure is worth it. Chicken Jalfrezzi is to die for as the texture and flavour of the gravy is truly stunning. You have the ghee line around the edge which I absolutly adore, and the flavour is like nothing else I've tried and I've have had curries every Saturday since I was 20 and I'm now 54. Top Marks J keep up the good work!

Called in here with my friend who has just moved to the area. Whilst the inside was quiet and a gentle beat of Indian music set the atmosphere, the place is definitely a bit dated, tatty and shabby on the decor and fittings. I wasn't bothered by that as the food was freshly cooked and bursting with flavours that tantalize and titilated the taste buds. I had the lamb dhansak with chappati and my friend had a chicken madras with chips and garlic rice. Everything was cooked fresh, even the chips. Several drinks later and the bill was less than £40 So incredible value. We took a take away menu with us as my friend is disabled and doesn't get out much so the delivery service they offer is a great bonus to them. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the different dishes and advising us what to try as it all sounded great. Will definitely be returning.

Q-min was recommended to us as the best Indian restaurant in the district. We were four adults having a quiet, early-evening dinner together and, after four very enjoyable meals, we understood why. Wide selection and good value for money.

As some have said, I booked a table without reading the reviews and when I came to it I was really hesitate to go, but the table was booked and we really fancied an Indian. When we got there it was quiet which was nice and we were seated in a booth, some bits and bobs with a bit tatty like the chairs, mats and menus but we weren’t eating them so it was fine. Ordered drinks 1 coke and 1 small rose, well we ended up with 1 cobra and 1 small white but never mind. They were drank anyway. Ordered a starter and a main starters came within 15 minutes and were delicious onion barji and chicken pakora, definitely recommend. And then about 15 minutes later again our main came which looked amazing, I must admit my partner is not an Indian person he normally enjoys a Chinese, he had the tikka mixed grill and I’ve never seen him enjoy something so much! He loved every bit of it! My chicken korma and coconut rice was also fantastic. Together we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend and come again, we even took the takeaway menu home as we would rather go there than our local. And the best bit including the drinks the entire meal was cheaper than the last place we went to as we paid £40+ just for the meal and this was under £40 including the drinks. Thank you for a fantastic meal!

Fantastic meal! Great flavours. I will admit to having read some of the reviews to being a bit uncertain about ordering. I noticed that the negative reviews seem to have been around the same time and fromsome months ago. I’m really glad we ordered, the food was delicious and very flavoursome. My husband had the begum mix meal, I went for the second dish on the takeaway menu ( can’t recall name ) it was delicious one of the nicest curries I’ve ever eaten! I do not hesitate to recommend and although we had takeaway I noticed the restaurants as packed too. Really good meal

Dined here last night after spotting it whilst passing through the area a few days earlier. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the host and seated right away where he then took the drinks order shortly followed by our food menu.

We decided to go out for a meal in the evening at short notice ans as we hadn't pre-booked decided to try this place despite some of the reviews on this site.

Ordered food just after opening for delivery they took order said be 45 mins turned up 2hrs later wrong food and cold never again

Booked the room upstairs for family & friends. Ordered a few drinks before being shown upstairs. The restaurant was empty,, as it was fairly early..........oh Eck, that's where it ended........our orders were eventually taken after half hour ( empty restaurant mind!).....

I think this is the best Indian takeaway in Merthyr. lovely food we all really enjoyed it. The korma was really creamy not watery like others. Looking forward to the next one.

We were recommend the q-min as a great place for a curry. The food was ok as was the service. The poor waiter was run off his feet trying to attend to and take takeaway orders and wait on tables. Another staff member was needed. We were not in a hurry so it didn’t worry us but other customers were less tolerant. Serves were very large so don’t order too many dishes. Quality is always better than quantity.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery. Took over an hour and when it arrived the order was wrong and we were missing a dish. We rang to let them know and they were so rude on the phone. Made out that we were lying and when we asked to speak to the manager he was just as bad and even swore on the phone. Will never eat here again and give them my money.

What on earth is happening with Qmin? Spent many an hour and pounds here and it’s predecessor Zeera but never again. Delivery took an hour and a half, they were rude and indifferent when we rung to see what was happening and then the meals were cold when they did arrive. Poor show, have you the benefit of the doubt last time but never again.

We have visited this restaurant in years gone by and it was always heaving with customers. During this visit, only a few tables were occupied which should have sent alarm bells ringing since it was a Friday evening. The decor is now quite scruffy and is put to shame by other local Indian restaurants. Service was just about ok. Food was just about ok whereas in the past it has been brilliant. The most bizarre aspect of this restaurant was the way in which they were playing music - we got to listen to many adverts and repeated songs (can only assume they were using YouTube or a similar platform). Disappointing.

Ordered my 5 meals they read it back to me was all ok but when delivered there was Keens nan not Keens rice when I rung the attitude of the waitress was disgusting asked for the manager who was worse in the end I put the phone down such shocking service will not be using qmin again after this

Ordered via telephone to be delivered was told be between 45-60 minutes delivery time.

Stopped in here and had a superb meal with a nice balance of heat and spices. Service was great with a good selection of the usual beers.

Dreadful....like other reviewers have said..this place has gone downhill badly.If I could give less than a 1star rating believe me I would.

There was more oil in our 5 dishes than the deep water horizon spill! Bland, greasy and quite frankly revolting. Disgusting attitude when we called to complain as well. We used to be regular customers, safe to say we will not be ordering again!

Been here a number of times and standards have certainly dropped. Decor has seen better days and food was average. A bit put off by the mark of 1 by Food Standard Agency. Wont be visiting until it improves 4/10

Was worried by the negative reviews and more so by the "1" food hygiene rating but had a really good meal and no bad side effects.

I came here as part of a large group (who had booked in advance), and the service was very slow. It didn't take too long to order drinks, but we didn't have the opportunity to order food until an hour after we arrived. The food then took another hour to arrive and while the food was ok, it wasn't anything special, and definitely not worth the long wait! The restaurant was not very busy either, so there is no obvious reason for the delays (I understand that for a large group it may be slower, but not this slow).

This is a clean and comfortable feeling restaurant with accommodating staff, The food was very nice although we did have to wait a little more than expected time for it to arrive, but that was forgotten when the food did arrived as it was excellent, The QMIN Special Balti with Peshwari Naan Bread is highly recommended, In all a very nice evening and we look forward to returning soon.

Used this place for years since the zeera opposite closed, always found it to be consistently good, yes the usual small gripes when delivery takes longer than expected but the food was always of a decent standard. Called here on a Friday night on the off chance looking for a table....... Alarm bells should have rung as the place was very quiet, anyway we took our seats and ordered. What followed was not the quality of food that I've experienced previously at this restaurant, I found that it was bland, lacking in flavour and left wishing that I'd not bothered if I'm honest. Maybe I visited on an off night, not sure I'll visit again on the back of it though. They seem to have taken their eye off the ball and now the Mango House and Red Spice are definitely of a far better standard.

Before I begin, I have never given a bad review of any restaurants that I've eaten at. But this experience at Q-min was so bad, that i believe people should be made aware of the disgusting service we received last night. Never experienced anything quite like it.

Wanting to try something different we ventured to Dowlais, as we’d been previously unimpressed by the Indian Restaurants in Merthyr Town Centre. The restaurant itself is stylish, warm and inviting. We received a warm welcome, and were asked to wait a few moments while a window table was prepared. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the chutney tray was very good -freshly chopped onion salad and actual bits of mango in the chutney! As I’m vegetarian and my partner is vegan, we went for a vegetarian thali and a ‘samba’ to share. The breads were excellent -fluffy, delicious naan and a perfectly-done chaphati. The other curry dishes themselves were the weak point -some good flavours, but marred by use of frozen/ tinned vegetables. These become especially apparent when there is no meat in the dish to be the ‘star’ ingredient. Service was courteous and efficient, but the tables were extremely sticky - meaning lifting a glass/ dish off the table required careful negotiation to avoid a face-full of beer/ curry. The bill was just under £34 for two of us, which included one large Kingfisher and two large glasses of wine. So, a decent option with nearby parking if you want to try somewhere different, but be aware that the food is likely to be mediocre (with the exception of the breads).

I've been to Qmin a few times now for takeaway and absolutely love it! I especially like the thalis as there are lots of little different things to try if you find it difficult choosing one dish. The new menu doesn't have the thalis on there but I've been told if you ask they'll still do them. Tonight I went for the lamb pasanda which was just as delicious as always. The lemon rice was cooked to perfection and my friend enjoyed her chicken tikka masala and chips. I'm still waiting to get a chance to eat in here but the takeaways cannot be beaten in Merthyr.

I was in the area so I tried a take away from this restaurant there was plenty of food at a reasonable price, i cant wait to try it again.

I had initially requested a dish on the basis of it being vegetarian, and had returned it given I had noticed meat within, however after persistently asking several times and stating I was vegetarian, the same dish was provided to me. This, in my view, is not an accident, but grossly negligent- I've taken this to the food standards as it is unacceptable.

Have visited a few times and will continue to do so .Had a fantastic evening meal with 8 of my family for an occasion. As per normal the staff were top class , service excellent and the food lovely ..Jay the owner / chef has really got it right .When a restaurant is bad I let people know to avoid the place , however i cannot recommend this restaurant enough.I have never been disappointed here and believe me that is rare as i am fussy

Recently visited here on Friday night,we booked a table for seven pm,greeted by friendly staff great menu plenty of choice, ordered populations and chutney,they arrived quickly.Drinks took.while to arrive.Although the restaurant was not busy there seemed an air of disorganization,drinks finally arrived,and then the LONG wait for our meal,and we waited and waited !!!!!!Our meal finally arrived at quarter to nine! The food was delicious but the wait was unacceptable totally spoilt the experience.

We had not booked but were seated immediately. It was very busy but we were brought drinks and papadoms with side dishes straight away. Our order was taken and our meal arrived just as we had finished the papadoms. The menu had a great selection. Service was very good. Very good value for money.

Unable to review the food as we never actually received anything apart from poppadoms and dips. Have visited this restaurant on many occasions over the years and have always enjoyed the food. Visited on a Saturday evening and were shown to our table. Water, poppadoms and dips served immediately. An hour later we were still waiting for the menu so we could order. I had to leave the table to find a waiter for this. We ordered but a further hour passed and we still hadn't been served so left the restaurant.While we were waiting we noticed a couple on another table had been served but did not have any cutlery, they also had to sort it out themselves. Another couple were served their poppadoms and dips but didn't receive crockery resulting in them using their placemats as plates.We shall not be visiting again as the whole experience was substandard.

This is my regular place for Indian food possibly the best Indian food I've tasted and reasonably cheap

We've been customers of Qmin for many years. The food is always beautiful. HOWEVER they are money greedy and not honest. I rang through an order for pick up last night at 8.30 and was told after I placed our order the wait would be an hour, I was shocked but was willing to wait the hour. After an hour I went to pick up the order, there were people waiting to be served at the bar, people waiting to pay for their meals. One couple were leaving their table as they had been waiting so long & still hadn't been served, I was concerned but a guy (I think the manager) told us it would only be 5-10 mins wait and to take a seat, so we paid and waited. And waited, and waited. I asked the guy several times and he always told me 10 mins. After 40 minutes I asked them to honestly tell me how long our food was going to be, it was being 'bagged right now'.. I still didn't get my food for another half hour, 1 hour 10 mins I was sat on that bench waiting. By the time I got my order home it was almost 11pm and we all didn't fancy eating. Unfortunately the chips were pale firm and undercooked which was such a shame after waiting over 2 hours for them.I had no apology or explanation from a manager, the poor girls on the front desk were left to deal with all the disappointed customers. The girl on the desk did ask if I wanted a free bottle of Coke and popadoms which I accepted, but it's little consolation for the time we all had to wait for our order. It's safe to say they've just lost the loyalty of 10 customers, if only they had been honest and told us they couldn't cook our order I would still rate Qmin highly.

Amazing food, unfortunately the bad service let them down! Waited an hour just for a drink and for someone to ask for our order, a couple near us were there two hours and had only received poppadoms and very slow on the take always too! Awful slow service especially considering it wasn't even full!

On a recent business trip to Merthyr, I had the delight of eating at Qmin, great great food, nice friendly service, quality portion size and overall a fantastic meal, thank you and well done Qmin.

My wife and I went to Qmin in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil for a meal. First impressions were okay. Easy to find and parking opposite the restaurant. Inside there was an Indian gentleman who greeted us, no smile, no warm greeting. I felt as though we were not welcome there. The table we sat at was sticky and when I tried to move the placemat it was stuck to the table. I have been to many Indian restaurants and they all bring popadums and dips as a complimentary item with no charge. Qmin charged us!The food is pretty good but when we left we noticed the hygiene rating of 1. Why 1, what is the 1 for because it wasn't cleaning. Our meal cost £40, there were about 8 tables occupied averaging 2-4 people per table so for the 1.5hours we were there approx £400 was spent there but still not a smile in sight. All of the customers there were putting money into their business but no one there could manage a smile or a little humour. My wife and I will not be returning to Qmin in Merthyr Tydfil. This was my experience but try it, it maybe different for you.

Booked a table here for a friday night at 7, party of 4, no problem. We arrived and was asked our drinks we asked for 5 mins, then another member of staff came straight over and asked our drinks. We were offered poppadoms to start which were lovely. Then we had two onion bhajis dishes between us. We ordered 3 curries, 2 rices, 2 chips, 2 naan breads and we shared. The Chilli garlic masala was very hot and so is the jalfrezi naan. The prices are very reasonable. We asked for more drinks and chutney, after 20 mins we had to ask again. then a different waiter came to ask what drinks we wanted. The staff seemed a bit unorganised but we enjoyed our night will def be back again!

Popped in for a meal during a business trip. Very friendly welcoming staff, food was nice. Although it was a King Prawn Special I ordered I semed to have been offered a mass of shrimps but I didn't mind. Nice place and seemed quite busy for a Tuesday night. Would definitely call again.

Called in a couple of times, no booking, always got a table. Selection is fabulous, as its Bangladeshi not your usual Indian meals. Every time we have eaten there we have had different meals and they have always been hot, tasty and plentiful. Meals are priced at £8 - £10 ish, some a bit more, they are more than happy to provide a 'doggy bag' so not a problem. Service can be a bit slow but the price of drinks is very reasonable, £3.50 for a large glass of white wine. If you like Indian/sub-continent food would definitely recommend this restaurant, different meals to your normal Indian so worth a try.

Last week my wife and I off the cuff called in to the Qmin Indian restaurant in Treharris Dowlais , Merthyr to have a meal. Although it wasn't too busy the staff were top class ! Food was piping hot which is rare for an Indian and service was excellent , Delicious flavours in the food and next morning no heart burn ! Highly recommended place to eat. We are looking forward to eating there again.

Q-Min is the best Indian I've tasted so far and definitely the best in Merthyr. My partner and I go there frequently and are always happy with the food and service. We have both tried a number of dishes each and all have been amazing, definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Absolutely love it here as it's our local. Though I have ever to admit I usually have the same thing but i can honestly say I have never had a bad meal.the regular waitress is lovely and bubbly, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and tables are redressed quickly . Only downfall fall is the wait at weekend's but that's to be expected.

Food and service was great. We had a large party there so we had an upstairs table reserved for us. Really enjoyed the food. Great night.

Visited qmin with family and friends for the first time and really enjoyed it and won't be going anywhere else. The food is amazing and good portions. The staff are really friendly and polite and made me feel welcome. Will certainly recommend :))

Ok quick review here. This is based on Qmin's food and not the dining in-house experience. Ok we always pick up our food orders. Staff always polite and friendly. The place itself is small but looks very nice inside. The food is simply the best Indian (Bangladeshi) around for miles. There are some very nice food alternatives in the area, but this beats them all hands down. Always well presented, piping hot and tasty. Did have a few issues with the delivery service. Orders can get lost or mixed up during busy times, but collect if you can. Food is usually ready in around 30 minutes.Enjoy

I quite like Qmin, although I don't get to visit as much as I like. Staff are always friendly and food is always cooked to perfection with very generous portions.This Indian is also proper Welsh in that it allowed you to order half & half (rice & chips) on the side.My favourites are the Tapali Gohst and the Maharaja Bunah Special (pictured) .

Booked for an evening meal as had heard it was very good so decided to give it a try.Arrived before our booking time and first impression was that it was a clean restaurant and it was about half full. We waited for about 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the waiters (there were 2 working) who then showed us to a table.He didn't ask if we wanted drinks, just left us 2 menus. Eventually the lady behind the bar asked if we had been served as no one had even bothered to come and take the orders for either food or drinks. At this point we had been in the restaurant for over 20 minutes.Eventually one of the waiters took our order. To be honest both waiters were surly and rude, they didn't seem happy in there job that's for sure!The starter finally arrived and I can say this food was nice and hot and we did enjoy them.Unfortunately it continued to go down hill from there. We did notice that other people who had arrived after us we getting served before us and so we continued to wait for our main course. And we waited!! It was over an hour now and even the lady behind the bar came over and enquired if everything was OK? We explained that it certainly wasn't and that we were sitting with no food still, no-one asked if we wanted more drinks or even bothered to acknowledge us. What was very evident was that there were a few "regulars" and they seemed to have preferential treatment. But - as first timers we were ignored. How do they expect to receive repeat custom is beyond me!Anyway by this point we had been in the restaurant an hour and half and still had not received our main course so we decided to call it quits and leave. A "date night" ruined and left at 9.45pm hungry!! (We arrived at 7.45pm)We did receive an apology from the lady who covered the bar but both waiters would not even speak to us at all. Even the chef came out of the kitchen and had a rant, and to be honest as he was ranting in an unknown language and looking straight at us. I genuinely felt he was probably saying something nasty that we could not understand, but I would definitely say it was hostile and rude.I also noticed that there was a lot of takeaway orders being dealt with too. This place needs to decide if it wants to be a restaurant or not. You pay more money for the restaurant experience so I really believe that this should take priority. It certainly wasn't busy enough to say that they were over run with fully booked tables, they weren't. This place needs a manager desperately.We paid for our drinks and starters and refused to pay for anything else.Would I recommend or go again - Definitely not.

Great menu choice, nice surroundings, friendly staff and a reasonable price... That sums up Q-min for me We have recently moved quite close to the restaurant so when we fancied an Indian meal last night this place seemed the obvious choice. There is a car park on the opposite side of the main road outside the restaurant with a decent amount of spaces available. The staff are very courteous and we were served very quickly. The food was of a very good quality and was thoroughly enjoyed by us both. I was unable to finish my meal but the restaurant staff were more than happy to box it up for me (which they do at the table) and I finished it for lunch today - it warmed up lovely in the oven at home.I am quite sure that we will be visiting again on a regular basis and would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of eating at Q-min yet. They also offer a takeaway service which we will have to try on the nights when going out is just to much of a bother

here we go after we have been few times in this restaurant and take away ..i was absolutely impressed about the food ,the staff and especially one of the waiter he is italian but very indian looking…which the best part of it!!he is not keen on indian food and he always cooks italian in it apparently for himself and his staff...everyone are friendly and they would def make your night there ..pls do not hesitate to book your table and enjoy a good evening out !!

I love Indian food, recommended highly this place was so decided to give it a whirl! Was not disappointed, beautiful food, cosy atmosphere and very polite staff. We shall be returning 100%!!

I don't get here much these days, more the pity, as I live in Swansea, so when I'm in the area of an evening I always call here!It is without a doubt the best Indian Restaurant in the area!My Wife and I went on 4 3 16Our starters of shami kebab and prawn purée were excellent in taste and quantity, as was the shared dish of Maraja bhuna, with mushroom rice and keema paratha.It is always consistent and a special thanks to the lovely female Staff member from Blackwood who made it a special experience!Top class!

Ordered a take away for delivery within a 2 mile radius so at most 15 minutes away from the restaurant! We got told that our takeaway would be 1 hour - 1 hour 10 mins. 2 hours later still no takeaway! I called the restaurant and got told that the delivery driver would be back any minute and I would get my takeaway soon. 2 hours 45 mins later still no takeaway so I called back and was told that the takeaway left the kitchen just after I called the last time. 3 hours later my takeaway arrives at the door which I refused to take! I called the restaurant back to inform them that I no longer wanted the takeaway and I got an apology which was worth nothing as waiting 3 hours is terrible! It's a shame I can't rate this place a "0" shocking!

We usually eat here every week and have never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly and know our drinks preferences without us having to say! And they always make time for a chat.The menu is very varied and reasonably priced. We have our favourites and they've always been hot and tasty. There's a car park opposite so no problem with access. They do takeaways as well so when it's busy, your food can sometimes take a while; but if you're out for the evening,just have some more drinks and talk with your companion(s)!!

I ordered a takeaway meal which arrived in about 1 hour, on checking the order I found that there were items missing, NO mint sauce, NO onion Baji's, NO chips. On top of this the nan Breads were not cooked and the rest of the food was stone COLD. I phoned the Restaurant to complain and was tolled by a VERY ignorant water that they would give me some Discount the following week, that was something I didn't want to hear and after a few choice words with him I slammed the phone Down. So to sum up the takeaway meal from qmin in two words, TOTAL RUBBISH. ps it all went in the Bin.

This restaurant is beautiful, I've got to be honest.There was a time when we ordered from here EVERY single Friday without fail. We started to wean off from here when delivery times started to go slower (and slower) and food was arriving cold.2 years later we're now at this point and time to try it again.The problem remains - the food coming out - it's so slow.From sitting down to getting our main meal it took one hour. We were hungry going so very hungry by the time the food came.The restaurant was cold also, it was minis 1 out and the restaurant was freezing. I heard other diners noting this too.The staff also aren't the happiest. It feels like they're overworked and just need to close for a day a week - being open 7 days a week would take it's toll!

Love this place, go here every week for a takeaway and about 1 a month for a sit down meal with a friend. Great food and service on every visit. Best Indian restaurant in Merthyr by far

Been here numerous times and its always fantastic. Always greeted with a smile and service is great. Takeaway is also available.

First visit to this popular restaurant and was impressed by the interior and service. Although not a big fan of Indian food, the menu is considerable and there are a few English dishes if you want an alternative. I really enjoyed my meal and would return. Parking can be a problem on the main road but we found the side road opposite gave plenty of room for parking.

We are lucky to live a very short walk from this very good restaurant. We visit regularly and have always had an excellent meal and excellent service. The waiting staff are always smart and friendly and efficient. Tonight we had the butter chicken which was yummy and I love their sag aloo, so tasty. Very reasonably priced for a very good meal.

We visited here after the course we were on. It was somewhere different and we hadn't had any recommendations.Place looked nice when we went in, which was not expected from the outside! There was only one waiter on so service was slowish. When the food eventually came, there was lots and it tasted really nice.Not a place to come if you want a quick meal, however if it's a lazy chilled meal that you want, try the food here!!

Food took a hour to cook.Tasted awful and full of oil Very dirty and smelly food and also waiter wasn't very friendly Will not be eating from here again

The service is terrible the waiter need new clothes can't even speak properly .the food takes to long to cook .four of us came for a meal was very disappointing with the Service

Visited on 1 8 15 with my Wife.As usual the food was excellent!We had Prawn Puree's to start, they were a foot long, jam packed with prawns, and delicious and a credit to the duty Chef!The portions are so large, we have to share the main meal!We had, as usual, the Maraja bhuna special, which is mince lamb, with chicken in a rich sauce, accompanied by special fried rice, mushroom barjee and a keema nan.All were excellent in taste, quality and quantity.I am so sorry I live so far away these days, so I don't get here as much as I'd like to!I don't understand the people of Merthyr Tydfil go anywhere else for Indian cuisine.This is the best of the best!

Normally I have takeaway from Qmin but have dined in as well. Really nice Indian, and I haven't had a bad meal from here. Tasty and good portion sizes. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is always good. It can be really busy on Saturdays, so best to book.

Me and my family are a regular here and we really love the food here the service as always been excellent the staff are lovely and can never do enough for you and the food as a brilliant variety and they also deliver if required so it's a bonus keep up the good work all

The chicken e bahar is fantastic. Beautiful chicken stuffed with spicy lamb mince. Lovely atmosphere, well worth the visit.

Cannot fault the food it's the service that lets them down. Every time we have been kept waiting for ages and staff aren't very friendly either. We even tried ordering for collection thinking we wouldn't have to wait as long then but we were kept still kept waiting for nearly an hour! With no apology. We haven't been back since, so don't know if they've since improved on this.

Have been going here for years and recently the service has gone downhill rapidly!!! Ordered food tonight at 19.20 and was told that it would take 1.5 hours for delivery as it was bank holiday. After ringing 3 times and being palmed off with excuses they finally turned up 3 hours later. After I told them that I wasn't prepared to pay they told me that either pay £10 (half price) or they would take it back. This is not the sort of service that I would expect for loyal customers. I was told by the delivery driver that they had one driver working on a bank holiday. If you can't deliver on time, don't lie to customers!!This is the second time that this has happened, even though this time took a lot longer. Will never ever go here again, as the service is absolutely shocking!!! DONT GO HERE!! As nice as the food is, it really isn't worth it!!!

We have been eating at Qmin for many years(in fact from its predecessor Zeera days) and have watched it steadily decline but our recent experience was the last straw!!!! Poor service and inedible food was a cant be helped attitude "as we have lots of takeaway orders" did;nt help and in future we will be taking our business to any of the others who are based in the same town who do a much better job, excellent food and equivalent prices i.e Taj Mahal, Red Spice and the Mango House.

I am a regular customer as I live around the corner but tonight I experienced the worst customer service ever!! From anywhere!! Ordered for collection,was told 20minutes,went to collect to be told another 5minutes and then to be told by a waiter with a disgusting attitude that he didnt know how long it was going to be I was just to wait. His attitude was what upset me more than anything !! Appalling!! Needless to say I left with no food and will not be returning to qmin. Will be sticking with Moksh or Mango House in future. So disappointing !! Good manners cost nothing !!

This is the best Indian restaurant in town for dine in or take away. We use it at least 3 times a month. Average prices but exceptional food. Loads of 'Specials'. Well worth a visit!
