Q Fish and Chips in Cherwell

Best chippy in Banburyshire in my opinion (and I have certainly been to a few). The staff are very polite and efficient and the food is ALWAYS delicious.

Had fish and chips tonight for my birthday tea, as always it was very yummy :) and worth the wait whilst the haddock was cooked without the skin :)

Needed a decent sausage and chips returning home from uni & was one of the best! Amazing staff, lovely and took time to talk!

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had fish smelt off ammonia, which I assume happens when fish is off,last time I went everything was so nice, so was very disappointed, i suppose I should have complained but taking them back during rush hour would have been too much hassle. I just wanted tasty fish and chips, I guess I’ll go to B-road street next time.

Friendly staff (even in the hot weather!!) and great tasting food - regular customer. Food now longer served in polystyrene either - so better for the environment.

Excellent Discovered Q fish only recently visited 3 times. Freshly cooked fish and excellent chips! Service is friendly and fast. I have recommended them to family who have had the same experience! Highly recommended

No fear of being hungry after having one of the fish & chips takeaways from Q. HUGE portions (one large order of chips feeds three easily at our house and the fish are substantial), well prepared and the haddock is particularly good.

Rude staff, especially the owner. The fish is frequently dry and the chips under done. If you try to, even remotely, use the full range of the menu then you are more than likely to get the wrong order presented. If you bring this up, even in a polite manner, then you will find the staff being stand-off ish and surly. This also, unfortunately, extends to the owner. As a once regular, I now avoid this establishment. Grimsby fish bar is by far superior. In actual fact, every other fish bar in Banbury is...

Reliably good quality fish and chips, with a varied menu available. This popular local business (deservedly) experiences queues at busy times, but they have now introduced online advance orders for collection which is a good way to beat the rush.

I absolutely love Q-fish at Chatsworth. The food is delicious and the staff are lovely. The vegan menu is absolutely fantastic, the best I’ve ever seen. So nice to have options. The banana blossom “fish” is so cool! We really enjoyed the vegan curry sauce too. 10/10.

Had the best fish n chips. The Haddock and cod were cooked to perfection just enough batter and lovely white fish. Chips delicious too. Highly recommended and will be back

We ordered a mixture of vegan and non-vegan options and Qfish could not have been more helpful in providing these for a large group of us. The banana blossom in place of fish is very good, and it was great to be able to try this alongside the tofu and cauliflower. Everyone LOVED the cauliflower, so tasty. Tofu good, banana blossom fish always a winner. The non-vegans also very happy with their dinners. Thanks Mark, everything was there ready to be collected at the appointed time, as we had phoned ahead to order.

Really tasty food and friendly service. Portion sizes are generous and food is not too heavily coated in batter. Menu is varied with options for vegans and gluten free.

Visited this chip shop as we saw on Facebook that they are trialing a new vegan menu. I opted for the vegan fish (waited about 5 minutes for it to be cooked fresh) and I really liked it. Its really great to see local businesses experiment with veggie and vegan food and I’d love to see the Queensway branch adopt the new menu too!

Appreciated the many different options on their new vegan menu (most places offer a lot less for vegetarians/vegans). Friendly atmosphere, Tried the Vegan 'fish' and tofu - both were delicious! Prices really reasonable. Definitely worth travelling across town for. We are looking forward to trying the other things!

Very impressed with this fish and chip shop, great food and very friendly service, would recommend will definitely be coming back for more!

thought i would eat while out so chose here, bad mistake as it was lunchtime and busy, finish coffee and then waited another 15-20 min for meall to arrive, as i only ordered sausage and mash i didn't expect it to take 30 to 35 min

Went to Queensway for fish supper and a couple of sides on Saturday evening. It was quite busy and a bit chaotic. I can't say the server was overly welcoming, more focussed on getting orders logged and fulfilled. Took about 10 mins from order to delivery. The server tried to squeeze everything into ine brown paper bag but it didn't fit so I was given the bag and a separate wrapped side to carry. 1st world problem but would it be too much to have one big bag or two bags for the order? The fish supper and mushy peas were tasty. Unfortunately 4 hours later I was very unwell. I can't say for certain it was the food but I feel OK the day after so don't think it is one of the many bugs going around.

Visited tonight, was very impressed, all my requests were fulfilled without any fuss at all. Friendly staff. Small fish and small chips for £4, with less batter. Just the correct amount. I will return :)

To be fair, the chips were ok. I was surprised that a bag of chips is now £3? I sent my 12 year old son in for 2 bags, he was charged £6, and they were the smallest bags I have ever seen. I feel like he was ripped off because he went in without an adult, as this has happened before.

Queued for fish and chips, it was well worth the wait, friendly staff, nice and clean large portions and nice and hot. Will definately go again soon.

Always excellent service, food quality is excellent, nothing is too much trouble, with some food cooked to order! If you are in a Banbury give either of their two shops a try at Queensway and Chatsworth! You won’t be disappointed!

A great Chip shop and has been since I discovered it a few years ago, however they have recently added Halloumi to the range which as a vegetarian is brilliant, it's amazing, a couple of minutes wait is all it takes.

Normally reliable however on Thursday I ordered cod chips and curry sauce with a battered sausage, they say I need to wait 3 minutes as sausage needed to be battered. I'm waiting and on my phone so not looking around. All of a sudden the women serving starts laughing at me when she says for salt and vinegar, I haven't got a clue why so I guessed she was having a joke with the other server.

Always great service and good fish and chips.Used to go to their other Fish and chips shop on Queensway and they are both excellent.

The fish was freshly cooked and delicious. The chips are always good here and so plentiful. Service with a smile too. Good to have this on our doorstep.
