Fish & Chips! - Read the comments some are whining it’s not a Michelin Star Restaurant it’s a convenience a Fish & Chips Takeaway! Great service and the food is great I’ve been going for 7 years and had no issues as for price you pay for what you get! It’s a small business they need to make a profit!

As a fairly regular customer ( we visited our Son & new grandchild) I ordered Cod Medium Chips & Curry 🍛 sauce . Chips & sauce were excellent but… I did think that the Cod portion size was small 🥲 This has been mentioned before in reviews so I just thought it was worth a mention.

Visited today ( Weds) & after a struggle to find a parking spot I was pleased to receive a welcoming smile 😀 The freshly cooked cod was amazing & the chips were the ‘ original British 🇬🇧 chips ‘ No 🇪🇬 Egypt ones for Bloxham blokes 😂 David

Battered haddock was lovely and soft almost fell apart in your mouth, chips were soggy and plain, staff are friendly. Small menu but wide drinks range

My Son Mark & Daughter in Law moved to Bloxham from Rickmansworth appx 3 years ago . During visits to see them & our grandson Theo our son recommended The Best Fish & Chips from Bloxham & since then we have enjoyed the meal every time. A new grandchild is due in June so we intend to move up here soon . The New Egyptian 🇪🇬 chips were fine but I do actually prefer the originals. Service with a smile guaranteed so I will continue the visits each week ! David

This is a pretty decent fish and chips shop. You get a good sized piece of battered fish with loads of chips. Service is pretty quick, even on Fridays.

Had takeout whilst on nearby Steam Rally. By the time we had driven 3 minutes back to caravan fish was stuck to paper. Not served in container as in one of the photos. One size cod was £7.70 and portion of chips £3.20.

Great Chippy, best I’ve found around Banbury area. I’m here working and not from around here. It was recommended to me and well worth the recommendation. Good hot and flavoursome food. Would I come again? Definitely

I just bought Cod and Chips from Bloxham… Never again the cod was not even 3 mouth fulls and chips needed draining properly.. Don’t Bother

Shocked at price ,large fish looked like a battered sausage, and the £4 chips were tiny.

New to area so gave it a go! Large cod is £7 and it's not large. It's literally a minnow. The chips are soggy and it is VERY expensive. Will not be returning. Mercedes prices for a 20 year old Citroen. - Avoid.

Any time I’ve gone to this fish bar the fish and chips were well cooked and a good portion. Recently ordered 2 cod roes and chips and they were delicious cooked perfectly they were so good went back next day and ordered another 3 cod roes and chips

It might have been the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Ordered on 1st Aug served by two very efficient & friendly staff. However, when I got home the fish had clearly been sat there for a very long time, dry and over cooked. The chips had also been sat there for too long, soggy and over cooked. My son left his sausage, it looked like it had been re-heated from the night before, dry and over cooked. The only good thing was my wifes scampi which were cooked to order. All in all a very disappointing and expensive experience, we wont be going back ever.

Went to the fish and chip shop on 26th July 2021 at about 6.30pm. Was served by 2 very friendly and efficient girls. All done and dusted in about 5 minutes. When I got my 2 cod and chips home both the fish and chips were old and grey. I wasn’t so worried about the chips as they still had good flavour and I don’t mind them being a bit soggy but the fish looked and tasted like it had been cooks hours before. Not a good experience at all. Very disappointing.

Just wanted to say thank you to staff at Bloxham Fish Bar for their excellent service last night (Friday 11th June) when I asked for a gluten free option with our order. They couldn’t have been more obliging and considering it was 8.45 they close at 9.30 pm we were totally impressed that they cooked me a separate piece of fish in a rice flour batter and skimmed the oil before frying my chips just to make sure they would be ok. I don’t usually eat fish but this was lovely cooked really nicely & not having had F & C’s for a while it was well worth the treat!! Thank you again to BFB!

Excellent chippy, lucky to have it in the village. Not quite sure what the negative reviews are about.... especially the previous one. I very much enjoyed my pickled onion from there tonight. I waited for my fish to be cooked fresh, staff are very friendly and service with a smile.

Very average, nothing special at all. Chips are usually soft and underdone. Fish is fresh enough but tastes no better than any other chippie. Haddock can be dry if its been sitting a while. Uninspiring factory-made pies. No pickled onions. Cheap watery vinegar. Staff are friendly and polite. Cooking needs to go up a few notches.

Visited on a Friday night, just before 7. Positives: - Quick service at counter - Quick turnaround of order - Friendly service - Good chips, and plenty of them! Negatives: - Minuscule Fish, would go far as to say they may have cut the fillet in half lengthways, but served as a full portion - at £4.90 not a great look. - Batter not up to much - Saveloy overcooked, resulting in the meat being pretty mushy and casing lacking snap Overall 2/5 , and thats only because I enjoyed the chips. The Fish should be the main event and it really wasn't here.

Not very impressed with the portion size. Have been many times and always thought the sizes of chips are small. Got a large portion of chips that wouldn’t feed a family bearly would feed 2 adults and £3.10 not impressed.

Couldn’t be bothered to cook so went for chips. They were hot, crisp and very tasty. The fish was cooked properly with crunchy batter and the sausages were lovely. Curry sauce was smooth and mouthwatering. Definitely the best in the area.

Plenty of room to park in near-by streets if not outside. Big screens on front counter for health reasons. Portions are great and the food is very tasty, we had been using another in South Banbury, but the portion sizes got smaller & smaller there, so we gave up with them. All food bought so far from there was very tasty and we will be returning. My wife loves the fish bites for £2.50, just enough for her, I like a full portion of fish and have not had a bad one yet, unlike from our other previous supplier. Will we return = Can't wait.

Fish portions smaller. Chips not very chunky and a lot of small ones. Cooked well but overall value has deteriorated over last few visits.

3 stars for staff as very friendly just very stingy small portions at a very high price I tend to drive in to banbury When I can because of this.but sometimes have to go this one

A little pricey but very clean and decent burger and chips. Service was friendly and quick enough for my half hour lunch. I will say it's very busy on a Friday afternoon during term time!

Wish I had have taken a photo now... got home and the two regular portions weren’t even enough for myself. Totally done over, not on.

Nice fish and chips place to grab food and take it home. They do not have seating so it is take out only. The portions are very generous, two people could share an order of fish and chips. I have had them a few times and the fish is always super crispy. Only negative thing I have to say is you need to pat the fish with a paper towel because it is very greasy.

Very disappointing! Pathetic portion size and over priced. Very bland and tasteless.

Had fish chips ,chicken chips, sausage chips , cheesy chips curry sauce. Fish is very good, and chips are not greasy, staff are friendly, clean and tidy as well.

Freshly prepared fish, beautiful chips, friendly and prompt service. They like to take phone orders.

Popped in here on the way home from Birmingham airport, feeling peckish but not wanting to cook. Pleasant welcome and efficient service, I had a cod and a haddock both with chips. The food was well cooked and clearly in fresh oil, the batter was crisp and chips golden in colour.Definitely well worth a visit and I will certainly return.

We visited my daughter in Bloxham and popped into the Fish Bar, the portions were massive, they were the size us northerners are used to. The food was top rate, the best I have eaten anywhere in the south.

I gave it 2 stars purely because it was freshly made. £2.00 for oily soggy chips and an a massive £4.60 for a tiny piece of battered fish! The batter was soft, the fish was tasty but tiny.

Nearest to me in Sibford and saves a trip into Banbury. Really good fish and chips, not too greasy. Never tried anything else so can't really comment on the rest. The place is always very clean, the staff are friendly and prices what you would expect to pay. I always seem to end up with too many chips (is that possible!!). You can park outside easily.

Depending what day you go depends what size portions you get. The Fish is frozen not fresh so not the best I have had but is ok. Chips need to be more consistent

Traditional local chippy, friendly staff and good service. We've had both fish and sausage and chips all of which have been good, if I had any criticism I would say the chips aren't as crispy as I would prefer but they still taste nice.

Had some fish and chips last week. Excellent quality - fantastic piece of fish. The staff in there very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

We had fish chips for 12 people for a birthday party, ordered them, good service, lovely fresh fish, we also had curry sauce and peas. All lovely and hot when we got home, they put extra paper on them as well.

This is our local chippy and we are always enjoy a nice welcome from the friendly owners and staff. Nice chips with generous portions and good selection to choose from. Lucky to have a quality fish bar so close!

Fish and chips from here are super. Family owned and run. The owners obviously are totally passionate about their product. It's fresh tasting and the place is about as spotless as it's possible to be. We are slightly worried we may be recognised for going too often! It's fabulous. Best fish and chips in the area.

Called in on our way back from Feastival. Must say the fish and chips match if not better than Jamie Oliver's which we ate the Feastival. The Fish had lovely crispy batter, well cooked so it just flaked away. Chips not soggy. Portion big enough to feed two of us. Couple serving we welcoming and smiled!! Wish the fish and chip shop in our village was this good

For a local chip shop , this really is one of the best you will find any where in the country , fish is always fresh and tasty and service with a smile , tastes like chips you would get by the sea side
